Good luck Vonni, that must be nervewracking. Wishing you all the very best!

pacman12 11-09-2010 08:10 PM

I have to return my kittens to the shelter tomorrow, and get my laundry done so I can pack. It's so nice to NOT have that "omg, what can I wear, everything is too tight and looks awful" crisis before a trip.. it's been a long time.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Julia - you were always good at going to the gym and getting your exercise done, why don't you concentrate on just getting that restarted and then you can worry about the food again.

LittleKiwi 11-10-2010 07:00 PM

OMG Gen, Italy and a private jet? I hate you right now!! Colour me green from head to toe :P Hope you have an awesome time :D

You're right about the exercise thing Gen and I've started by bringing some walking shoes to work and I've been taking a 30 minute walk each lunchtime. Helps now that the weather is on the improve! It's good too because I'm currently in a really toxic work environment so it's goot to escape from that for half an hour each day.

LittleKiwi 11-12-2010 04:08 AM

Canterbury Anniversary day today so no work :D the weather was absolutely stunning and my man and I went for a big walk around the hills. Took 1 hour 25 minutes and damn near killed me as the last 20 minutes was all uphill! I was actually pretty horrified at how unfit I've gotten but I'm glad that I got out there and did it.

:twirly:

7senuf 11-13-2010 03:16 AM

good on ya Julia. Thats a long walk in the first place let alone uphill battle. But yayayayayayayaaayyyyy u did it

pacman12 11-14-2010 05:13 AM

OMG, was looking on Facebook and found THE most godawful picture of me from February - this was my absolute fattest! Ugh makes me so sick and sad to see this.

No weigh in for me til next weekend since I'm Italy and don't got no scales!

LittleKiwi 11-14-2010 08:07 PM

You've certainly come a long way since February Gen. Good on you! You are looking amazing so be proud of that :D

Thanks for your encouragement Vonni ;) I tell you, that walk damn near killed me and I'm still sore today!! It's shown me just how unfit I have gotten though and I'm not happy with where I'm at now so there's lots of work to do.

Do you guys remember earlier this year I did a half marathon? Well I've decided that I'm going to do it again next year and I'm thinking about entering the run category this time rather than the walk & run category. That would be a good thing to have to aim for.

:twirly:

LittleKiwi 11-15-2010 01:39 AM

Printed out a training schedule and did day 1 today - 10 minute walk / 10 minute jog / 10 minute walk.

I look forward to it getting easier!

:twirly:

7senuf 11-15-2010 05:14 PM

GEN you are on facebook? add me u silly :p

pacman12 11-15-2010 06:51 PM

What name's it under?

LittleKiwi 11-17-2010 03:11 AM

How's everyone going? Gen are you in Italy yet?

I did more exercise tonight. YAY! Jogged 1.75km which took about 13 minutes then walked a bit and then jogged 1.35km which took about 10 minutes. At the moment my jogging pace is about the same as most people's brisk walking pace but I figure I've got to start somewhere eh.

My diet has been a bit better in the last week. I've managed to take a packed lunch to work each day which is great and while I'm not counting points so am probably eating too much I do feel that my diet has improved somewhat. Have been taking a couple of boiled eggs to work for morning/afternoon tea rather than snacking on unhealthy things.

Hope everyone else is doing ok!

pacman12 11-17-2010 11:00 AM

Yeah been in Italy since Friday, heading home in 2 nights.. can't wait. Have hardly eaten anything but pizza and gelato all week.. just can't eat much of it! Takes me 2 days to eat a small 1 person serving of pizza! The hotel has free brekky so have had 1 scrambled egg, 1/2 piece of bacon, cup of coffee and half a piece of fruit for brekky each day - the only protein I am getting and the rest of the time is CARBS CARBS CARBS! Heh.

Have had big happenings while I am away with my boss promoted to a great, very senior position within the hospital.. excellent news for him and I am so proud, but I am very nervous what is going to happen in the department now and who will be in charge.. might not be good for me.

LittleKiwi 11-17-2010 04:16 PM

Yummm pizza and gelato sound good Gen :T

I've got a good packed lunch with me at work today - ham & cheese sandwich, sweet corn muffin (home made), 2 boiled eggs and a muesli bar.

Will go for a walk tonight.

Has anyone heard from Ani at all? I miss her!

Lunch sounds good Julia!

I got home this morning on my private jet.. oh my god, so good! Had a couch, tv, woodgrain everything, chairs that move all around the cabin, real pillows and meals... haha. Customs/immigration guy comes on board to check your stuff... just *sigh*. It's going to be hard going back to pleb class after that experience!! No security, no lines, no shuttles... bliss!

Edit to add: I'm in the 80s!! That's about -2kg from my week in Italy.. maybe I'm not eating ENOUGH carbs at home... hmmm. Off to check out the food diaries.

pacman12 11-20-2010 09:32 PM

OK this site sucks when noone comes on here .. guess I'll stick to my other sites that people post on!! :(

LittleKiwi 11-21-2010 02:53 PM

Agreed Gen, I'm about ready to give up here I'm afraid :(

7senuf 11-21-2010 08:34 PM

FACEBOOK lol. Hi guys I'm here, just been on nights oh yayy. I'm down to 72. been up n down the past couple of weeks (has to be the shift work).
But I have a school reunion to go to on 18th december and wasn't going to go but a friend convinced me i just "have to".

So my goals until then - watch what i eat a bit better, restart the gym, obtain my ab circle pro (woohoo its in the post) and lose 5kg. Think I can do it by then?

7senuf 11-21-2010 08:35 PM

oh and drink WATER not coffee

LittleKiwi 11-22-2010 05:52 PM

I'll be interested to hear how your new contraption is Vonni. I see the ad on tv and it looks so uncomfortable!

I've been keeping up my jogging training and while it's still hard I'm proud of myself for doing it. Tonight I build up from 10 minutes to 15 :D

According to the rickety bathroom scales at home I've lost 1kg too which is a nice thought. Not sure how reliable they are though!

I'm trying to watch what I eat and packed a delicious salad for lunch today and will do the same tomorrow. The key for me is to be organised and get it all done the night before otherwise I'm hopeless.

Things at home aren't great, my relationship is fast going down the gurgler and I'm not sure what to do. I'm not happy but I'm not unhappy enough to do anything about it if that makes sense. I know that we need to break up and that's the way we're headed but I really don't want to have to be the one to do it :(

7senuf 11-23-2010 12:24 AM

Got it yesterday - faster than I thought. Put it together and jumped on. It isn't really uncomfortable but my knees feel a bit bruised today. i did a workout this morning on it too. yet to feel sore abs but the lady at call centre and a few friends say it hurts.
Got so much energy though (haven't worked out in weeks) so I bit the bullet and mowed the lawn. what an adventure that was grrr. but feel great all but buggered. No time to be tired though, i have a friend coming over for sinner tonight - roast pork

pacman12 11-23-2010 12:37 AM

Julia you're doing so well - on the treadmill in Italy the other night I tried jogging and was dying doing 2 or 3 minutes haha!!

Sorry to hear about your bf - personally I have to end it once i know it's not going to work out, but don't take my advice on anything relationship bc I am a serial singleton!!

LittleKiwi 11-23-2010 06:16 PM

Honestly Gen, I am the world's SLOWEST jogger. I literally jog at about the same pace that would be a brisk walk for most people! But hey, I've got to start somewhere right?

My program had me jogging for 15 minutes last night and it was hard. I can do it though and I'm determined to keep going. I just have to keep reminding myself that it's not going to happen overnight but it will happen :D

Julia do you have facebook? PM me the name if you do!

LittleKiwi 11-25-2010 09:42 PM

Drank too much last night ... feeling less than ideal today :( Woe is me! At least the weather's looking good for the weekend :D I aim to get out for a walk/jog on Saturday AND Sunday.

What's everyone's weekend plans?

:twirly:

pacman12 11-25-2010 11:22 PM

Thanksgiving today, working tomorrow, hairdresser on Saturday! On call til Monday morning, so nothing too exciting.

7senuf 11-26-2010 03:01 AM

I actually have a full weekend off for the first time in months. So going out and getting on the piss tomorrow night :)

pacman12 11-26-2010 05:57 AM

Enjoy!

7senuf 11-27-2010 10:38 PM

well that was a disaster. Got down there and NO karaoke so went to another place - no one but barbie dolls then figured we were hungry so walked to maccas via the RSL to see if any music there and NOPE. so 2 drinks and a legend burger later (seared) I was home by 11.20pm

LittleKiwi 11-28-2010 05:44 PM

Yep, I'm on FB Gen ... Julia Dawson look me up! Hope you had a happy turkey day :D

Stink news that your big night out didn't happen Vonni :( At least you didn't wake up with a hangover though. My friend was so sick on Friday after our Thursday night drinks that she only lasted half a day at work. I wasn't feeling 100% but I wasn't sick at least!

I had a laaazy weekend and didn't really do any exercise at all. Got to get back on track though so will be back on the horse this week!

What's everyone else's plans for the week?

:twirly:

JMSilver 11-28-2010 06:18 PM

Hiya! US-expat and have been happily living in Australia for a bit over four years now. I'm planning on becoming a citizen in June 2011.

I'm looking to lose about 43 kilos, and I've done 2.1 so far... Long road ahead. I'm using OptiSlim for brekkie and sometimes for dinner to help manage things. I went on the plan 100% last year and ended up getting my gallbladder out in January, so I figure taking it a bit easy on the meal replacements would be for the best...

7senuf 11-29-2010 02:11 AM

welcome JM

Julia do you realise how many there are with your name? lmao. add me here http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=563477197

LittleKiwi 11-29-2010 04:06 PM

Welcome JM :D We need some new faces here! We used to have more members but people have gone AWOL so at the moment there are just a few of us trying to breathe life into this thread ;)

I'll get on FB and add you tonight Vonni!

I have gone and lost my mojo again and it has occurred to me that I haven't exercised in a week. Not good! So, my goals for today are:

1) Exercise tonight
2) Make a good, healthy lunch tonight to bring to work tomorrow

:twirly:

LittleKiwi 11-30-2010 02:45 PM

Yay for me, both goals achieved last night. I went for a walk/jog of 5.6km in total of which I jogged 2.3km :D

Also made a good, healthy lunch to enjoy today.

Goals for today are the same:

1) Exercise
2) Make a good healthy lunch to bring to work tomorrow

:twirly:

JMSilver 11-30-2010 09:18 PM

Breathe! *smacks chest of the thread* Breathe!

I started off walking for an hour (husband drops me off and I *have* to walk home seems to fit my mentality at the moment) every weekday morning until my ankle protested. I decided that walking M/W/F and Wii Fit-ing for an hour on T/Th was the way to go. But the Wii Fit kicks my butt waay more than the walking (which I can't ramp up because of the ankle). I'm wondering if I should switch the days around.

Hrm.

7senuf 12-01-2010 06:08 AM

Love my wii fit. Must remember to buy batteries tomorrow lol

LittleKiwi 12-01-2010 06:09 PM

Getting dropped off is a really good idea JM. That way you can't change your mind and shorten your walk!

I didn't do any exercise last night, hit the supermarket and met a friend for coffee instead. Tonight however, I have a walking date with a friend set up so I'll definitely be getting my workout tonight.

I'm doing well with bringing lunch to work rather than buying stuff. So long as I organise something in the evening I'm all good. Fail miserably if I leave it until the morning :dizzy:

:twirly:

JMSilver 12-02-2010 06:22 AM

I'm afraid that a lot of the time, I respond better when I have fewer choices. Getting dropped off means no choice but to walk to get home. In the past I've always responded best to diets that basically said 'yes have that, no don't have that'.

As I'm getting older, that's starting to change, but it was the only way I'd start exercise and stick to it long enough to transition over to something like Wii Fit where I have choice in not doing it. Haven't skipped!

LittleKiwi 12-03-2010 12:57 AM

My partner and I broke up last night. My call, things just weren't working. He's devastated, I feel awful and have a headache from crying so much.

Sucks :(
