Wedding isn't until 9/17/2011. EVERYTHING--down to that last little detail has been planned carefully by the bride! She has been planning a wedding for YEARS! She has requested no Hokey Pokey, no Chicken dance, no bells, no bubbles, no confetti...very formal affair! I feel honored to be able to host a (formal) engagement party at our house! 3 tier cake, banquet tables, heated buffet, salad bar, mints, decorations...even the aquarium is decorated in pink! I'm worried I won't be ready! DH has a plan of putting plastic around our 3 season, screened porch on Saturday. That is not a 1 man job. I know who his other "man" is--and I will have other stuff to do! The whole deal is sure keeping my mind busy though!

Happy lights?...Hmmm...I wonder if I can install those in the bosses office! Maybe in DH's semi truck! Hehe!

I host an annual MC run in NJ to benefit homeless dogs and last year we had almost 150 riders - so much fun!

Saving money for a new bike in the Spring.

I really need to get back on track! I have been just awful lately. DH sure has not been helping at all. Last few times to the store he has bought pie & cookies. Last nite we had a get together next door. I made wraps with ham or turkey & they had 4 different types of spreads on them made out of cream cheese. 1 had sour cream mixed with it & the other 3 had mayo mixed in. It was the 1st time I attemped to make a spread like that. I took what was left over & mixed them all together for on crackers. My neighbor made pasta salad. So needless to say I have been eating too many carbs. Which in turn just makes me want to eat even more. Hopeful DS will eat what is left of the wraps so I will have an easier time getting back on track.

It will be great to have you join the thread! I love these girls on here! They don't just talk exercise and weightloss. We've become internet friends through 3FC. We've solved a lot of the worlds problems right here on this site! Not that anyone else listens, but we have had some marvelous ideas!

I am a HUGE (in more ways than 1) dog lover! Saint Bernards are the breed of choice for me. I love narly all of them though--excluding my mothers mixed up, biting, mess of a chicken mut. That is about the only dog I can say I really don't like! I was bit by a Pitbull at a shelter, but I still like them. I was bit as a kid by a Basset Hound--still like them. It takes a lot to make me dislike any animal! I've tried to like Mom's beast--it's just not happening!

Tymaboy, I understand completely about getting off track! When my dad died last month, I over did the eating by a long shot! I ate my feelings instead of crying them! Can't say it worked real well either, but I guess I got through it!

Holly, NO pink fish! I DID have some, really! The big fish ate 'em up! Most of my fish are a 6" to a 1' long! If times get tough I can fry 'em up! JK!
DS used to do the liquor stings for the sheriffs department. He was amazed how many people would give him beer at 16!

No riding this past weekend. DH attempted to move the HD out of the garage, slipped on the pea gravel on the road and dumped it on his foot. He's fine. Pride is hurt a little, and there are a couple of scrapes--not too bad. I went to save him, and twisted my foot. I'm pretty sure my foot hurts worse than his does after having the cycle land on it!

SD it is optional however we do TAM certify all of our employees - but really all that does is lessen the fine for the clerk and the store owner from $1000 to $500 so it is worth it- Glad to hear you are feeling good - isn't today your Day off, did you enjoy it or clean house?

well today was FINALLY my dental surgery. I took the Valium 30 minutes before and it helped make me feel like "surgery? meh, go ahead". Then they gave me the real stuff (the general anesthetic, the $450 stuff) and I truly only remember the doc saying 'this is going to make you sleepy' and the next thing I knew, they were waking me up. My son drove me home, made sure i was OK, and i went straight to bed.

I am only a little sore, and NO swelling!!! but I am taking those 600mg ibu's pretty often. Now i have a month to heal completely before going to regular dentist to discuss next steps (how to fill in those holes lol)

STILL havent heard a settlement from ins. co. I emailed them what I thought was the last of the info they needed on Monday...but this was info that THEY should gotten themselves on Oct. 10th!

I did something maybe a little 'not so nice' last night. It was scheduled to be our Fire Dept. Auxiliary meeting? and even though one of our 'things' to do is to help out families in the town that are having a tough time, I am still kinda fuming that not one of them has sent us a card about Joe's fractured skull. Well they probably think that since he only spent 24 hours in the hospital, he is 'fine'. I have spent 10 years on that Aux. volunteering not only time but my own money and it just sux to me that a little consideration couldn't be extended to 'one of our own'.

I taped a letter to the meeting place door, before the meeting, that said I was going to 'bow out' of Auxiliary holiday functions (like donating money to buy turkeys, make food baskets, make little gifts, make cookies, make wreaths) . That because of Joe's fractured skull and continuing pain, it has made everyday living difficult and I selfishly didn't feel like making things joyous for other people.

In retrospect, the letter was probably over the top but I truly don't care. There are so many people in this area that I thought were really good friends, one in particular, who never got back to me when I was really, really despondent and reaching out to her. So screw em all

Welcome houndlvr! I am glad you found us as well. We try to help each other in more than weight loss and have all become quite close here. It is nice having internet friends! We welcome you in our group. Btw, I am a dog lover..... I have 2 weenie dogs (they are older than dirt), a boston terrier, and a lab. All in the house. Trust me.... that was not planned. But, I love them all.

Well girls, my DS is gone I am thankful for the time he was here. He will be back home in April. It was sad for him to leave today. But, I am trying to do better than the initial deployment departure. I have had a pretty bad day, it started off with DS2 picking a fight with me and telling me how "mean" I am to him..... blah, blah, blah. I won't go into details, but it was the worse possible time.... I was already a mess knowing we were having to go to the airport.
Then..... I had a dentist appt. However I did not get the good drugs like Holly.... lol It was a new dentist, I was supposed to only have a cleaning, but I won't be going back to that dentist. I was treated like a scumbag for not flossing like I should. I was treated like I had the nastiest teeth ever. Mind you I spend 6k for braces on my teeth.... trust me, they are taken care of.

Holly, I hope you are not in pain tomorrow. And, I am glad that you passed your "test" with the alcohol/tobacco people.... don't sweat it if your boss was too cheap to renew your certification, that is "his" deal.
Okay..... I do not think you were in the wrong one bit about the note. You are such a giving person and it would not have hurt the others in auxillary one bit to offer to help you or at the very least to check to see how you BOTH were. It was extremely inconsiderate of them not to. IMO, they must just take for granted that you will be there to do whatever. And, you don't have to be part of an organization to help during the holidays.

Colleen, I got the book back. I really did not expect you to send it back.
And, girl.... you are too hard on your size or WL. When you are ready.... you will make it. Just take care of yourself. And, remember even with a stress free life (if there is such a thing) it is hard to lose weight..... but lately, it seems like at one time or another all of us here have had a really hard time..... the past few months have been very hard for you with your job and your Dad. Just take care.... take a deep breath, and go at it again.

I have worked for other people who gave their employees $25 or $50 bucks cash for passing that kind of thing, it gives you incentive to 'do the right thing' and still hope for a little personal recognition in doing your job right. Oh well as you said, it's HIS deal, the responsibility is not mine.

We do give our employees $100 when they pass a alcohol sting and $50 for tobacco- alot of companies just think it is your job but incentive is always a big boost.

Well I get to sit at home tonight and do nothing well shouldn't say nothing I am going to start folding and putting away clothes so with that I am going to get off the computer and relax alittle- I am super tired we didn't get home till midnight last night and yes I had a couple to many mich ultras last night

On my way to work I stopped at our insurance agent office,and told them I AM NOT HAPPY WITH HOW MY CASE IS BEING HANDLED. Well in a quiet tone of course. The lady sympathized completely and said it was 'unacceptable'. She is just our agent, not a rep of Sentry or Dairyland. She made some phone calls..can you believe the adjustors who have been 'working' with me told her they must have been using the wrong area code to call me??? 820 instead of 802. How....freakin.... lame... is that!!! I said, um, NO, they HAVE reached me a couple of times, they are just trying to cover themselves by lying!! AND my phone number is printed on some snail mail I sent, plus on emails.

Well at least when I got home, there was a check in the mail for the compensaiton for Joe's leather jacket and his prescription eyeglasses - and get this - it was for the EXACT amount we submitted. No fighting or haggling. And they haven't asked for us to surrender the jacket to them, which I expected.

Okay, I have been working 40 hours at the "new" job since I started... I am just in training. I think this coming week will be my last training week. Then I will go to a permanent shift, which I think is going to be 2-10. I will work at the doctor's office in the AM from 7-1:30..... but that may change on some days depending on my days off dispatching. My weight is suffering from it.... well, not all of it is my jobs---- after my first day back on plan I did a nose dive again.... but I will NOT gain it all back. I just have to eat better than I am now. I figure when I get on a set schedule it will be much better. The girls at the doctor's office do not like this at all..... but they should be careful what they wish for next time (the whole July blow up). AND, I found out the doctors have put their house up for sale. I knew it was coming.... but they said they would give a warning...it has been on the market for 82 days.....
I do my housework in spurts and the "guys" have a little more to do.

Enough whining about my job..... how are you all doing?

I just saw on another thread you do Slim in6. I have been looking at that, Turbo Jam, and ChaLean.... can you give me your take on the SI6? I need to find something that will work for my schedule...... I don't want to join bootcamp again b/c I have to be there at a specific time.... and that does not work for my life right now. Can you tell me your honest opinion so I can figure what way to go? And did you get your DVD from the beachbody.com or did you get it elsewhere?
