I have a roast cooking and need to run some errands this afternoon. I hate to go on Fridays when all the crazies hit the streets, but I put it off all week so it serves me right!
The trickles have started coming in the basement so have hoses to trip over for awhile. I hope Ernies box, that he sleeps in, stays dry.
Maggie -- When Bob and I were married his little hometown sign said, 'Population 500.' It's about 5 +/- miles from Sioux City. We could have lived there but it seemed that everyone knew everyone elses business and I wasn't used to that. I was still in college so we opted to live in SC. The town has now become a bedroom community for Sioux City. A farmer started selling off land and houses popped up all over. There's no population sign now and the main part of town has stayed much the same. The school is the only small town district that has managed to keep their K - 12 from consolidating with other districts around. I could live there now and enjoy going back to visit when there is a funeral, anniversary, birthday celebration at the church or community center. There aren't many people left that Bob grew up with.
Can't believe I wrote all that!
Susan -- I hope through your research you will find some meds that will work better for you. I don't think we will see our flower beds for awhile yet. I just hope the heavy snow didn't kill the bulbs. Where do you all keep the 600+ quilting books? That's a lot of books!
Enjoy your meeting and lunch today!
"Gma" -- Marty will add some excitement to your house for awhile.
I'm glad Jack is going to see a specialist with his knee. I hope that draining the fluid will help with the pain. Bob had to have that done after a softball game many years ago. I would be
about your appt. being canceled too! You'd think another doctor could have seen you but I suppose they are all booked solid.I need to get a move on. I hope you all have a fantastic Friday and are gearing up for a super weekend!

Jean --
from Iowa!
We got up to more fog this morning. The bells played at 2nd service, Bobs group and several others sang with us but had never practiced with us so that was a challenge in the few minutes we had to practice, a group from the college performed a skit, and the praise team did their "romp 'n stomp." It was 12:30 by the time we were on our way home after putting the bell stuff away. We changed clothes and headed to Sioux City. Amandas mom took some great pictures at the wedding (better than the photographer!) and I wanted Beth to have them before she ordered any from him. Both she and Will were working so didn't see anyone. We ate lunch at the Olive Garden and headed back home again. The sun tried to peek through the clouds a couple of times but our fog is still hanging on here. I have laundry going and will finish reading the Sunday paper next.
I hope you have good seats for your ball games; I know how much you enjoy the Cubs!
It just feels damp and yucky outside although Bob did mention going for a walk a little bit ago. I do have a couple clocks that I need to change yet. I rarely look at them so sometimes I don't even bother changing them.

I think hotel prices jump when the summer travel season is in sight.
I've found that online prices and when you call the 800# to make a reservation also vary. We don't stay in hotels/motels that often so usually just suck it up and stay where it's most convenient. It's too bad that Jack has heard the knee fluid stories; that's like women comparing having babies.
I wasted an hour watching the Today Show because there was a blurp about "our" whales which never did come on while I waited. I should know better by now because they are famous for making a subject announcement at the beginning and then elaborate much later in the program.
I don't have an ounce of Irish in me, but like cooked cabbage non the less!
