You could also add some Vitamin D to your vitamin regimen if you don't take vitamins I suggest you consult your Dr. but I take a 1000 mg Vitamin D 3 times a day. I started this when I got my new job. I work 12 hr night shifts so even when the sun is out I don't see it very much. It has worked wonderfully for me.

We're getting snow and freezing rain mixed. Hope this doesn't last long. I hate walking indoors when the weather is bad. I also don't like going on my bike instead of walking.

:flow1: Great weather here today; nice mild temps, esp for this time of year ... only around 0C or 32F ... having a good week so far -- eating well and happy about that ... Have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY ...

three 12 hr shifts are done... my brain is mush... must find something to eat for dinner...

Justwant2Bhealthy 01-15-2010 03:11 PM

Was busy yesterday catching up on my housechores; and did some stuff on my PC in the afternoon which always takes a lot of time. I am eating well this week; had to deal with some cravings yesterday but battled it out. Today, I made some healthy mini-muffins for snacks while DH fixed one of my cupboards for me. We awoke to some lovely :sunny: this AM, and it stayed til about an hour ago ...

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend ... Rosebud :flow1:

I have one and it really helps, it's for people who get depressed because they don't get enough of the proper spectrum of light. Canadian winters are notoriously grey and bleh. Even if you don't think you depression is influenced by this it very well may be. I was surprised at the difference it made for me.

Thanks for the info Aunty, I may just look into it, I am definitely missing sunshine! Oh and I am orginally from Australia, been in Canada for 5 years now, and what makes the lack of sunshine worse for me is when I call home to talk to my family - they are all so happy because it is summer over there now!!!! Sooooooo jealous!

No problem, I really hope it helps you out. It sure helps me and I was born here!

Lauren, Congratulations on reaching Onederland! That's a great accomplishment!

We have been having above zero temps for the past week or so. All the ice and snow is melting. :carrot: Have you all noticed the days getting longer? I can really notice it when I get off work it is actually light out! :carrot:

Need to get back on the treadmill. I've really been slacking lately.

Have a good weekend everyone!

We had a mini ***** storm yesterday; and the temps were around 0C today too. Just having a nice, relaxing day at home. Having leftover roasted chicken and veggies in mushroom sauce for dinner with baked apples with granola for dessert (or snack).

It seems the days start to get longer in January; although it's 5:30 pm and it's dark out there already, but we do live further north than some of you ... but each day the light will stay longer and longer from now on ... :D

LAUREN ~ :congrat: on reaching onederland ... that is awesome! :carrot:

Have a great new week, everyone ... Rosebud :flow1:

Laruen - I'm sorry! I didn't even notice, yes, congratulations! :)

I had a boost today, went to a baby shower and was told I looked great by the new mother. I haven't seen her since october so she noticed the change. But... I only lost 1 pound this week :( I'm blaming that on being a woman.

Edit - Oh, just noticed I haven't changed my current weight lately :( Yeesh, how much longer until I can get a ticker??? I'm impatient!!!!!!!!!!

Edit again - Ok, gone and done that.

Hello everyone. It's so cold here. It's been mild all winter until Sunday morning. Wow, what a shock to the system. We went from hovering around 0 to +4 for about a month to -15 overnight. My fingers were so cold this morning when I walked even though I had doubled up on the gloves and mittens. I found a warmer pair for tomorrow so I hope that helps. I'm feeling like I want to eat warm baked things now that winter has so obviously arrived. I'll just have to suck it up (not the baked goods) and eat an apple. :D
