Hello Fellow Canadians!!! Thanks for the invite to the thread. I can't believe it's only a month til Christmas. It seems so close, and of course as a kid it seemed so far away.
|
I should say hello as well. I've been around for quite a while, and I was probably even on an old version of this thread. I just do the pop in and post thing usually. I'm back in college and the moment and pretty much avoiding studying for finals that start in .... 10 days! (yikes)
I'm also a treadmill owner. It gets little use in the spring/summer/fall as I've found that I prefer going outside. Now that our weather is getting worse though I've been on it once or twice and once exams are over I'll get into a routine. Right now it has my towel on it (one I use when using it), a big sweater, a looped exercise band that I've been using for woodchops, and my swiss ball is stuffed between it and the couch. I just have little to no room down here. When we start using the fireplace regularly I have to lift the adjustable dumbbells and they sit under the treadmill when the fire is on (the TM folds up). |
Why, Why, Why
Why is it that when there is a really good sale on you have no money. Walmart have treadmills on sale for 398.00 with taxes it would be 449.74. My pay would cover the amount if I didn't have to pay hydro and other bills. Its a Sat. and Sun. sale.

Agreed. I remember years ago having no money and tons of space. Then I went to having plenty of money and no space. Now I simply have no space and no money. :)

:welcome: to our new additions as well to some of our old friends who have joined us once again. I was having trouble getting in here to talk to you as the site has been having a lot of difficulties the last few days. I am also having some problems with my security programs on my own PC so have to find a way to solve them too.
Then if that isn't enuff, our car broke down on DH this afternoon. He went up town this AM to run a couple of errands and hooked up trailer to pick something up and he blew a fuse; he spent all afternoon trying to find it with no success. I had to cancel my dentist apt (oh dang ;)) until next month but it was just for a couple of small fillings anyways. DH did get his H1N1 flu shot the other day becuz of this age; he still want to get the other one but he had a cold/flu now so they told him to wait a bit. He says he feels better today though. We did a lot of shopping, hence a lot of walking yesterday so my legs and feet are tres sore, so I am resting them today. We had wild salmon for dinner tonight with salad and veggies too. Time for my evening tea. Take good care ... Rosebud  |
working night shift last night just about messed me up... especially since they announced layoffs and ppl were stressing...
stress + nurses = junk food.. i would love an elliptical or treadmill but have no space and no money... maybe boxing day sales will be better... |
Hi Tricia, hard to believe they are laying off nurses :(
Started sneezing today :( runny nose. Took the dogs out just now anyways, bit of a wind but no rain and quite warm out. Feel better after a walk but still sneezing. I'd take tomorrow off but I have to get report cards done. Have a good Friday  |
I drove home in ... snow! Just falling. Not staying. Hmmm ... I guess it's that time of year.

Who are your Heros
definition: 1. a person of distinguished courage or ability, admired for their brave deeds and noble qualities.
2. a person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal 3. A person noted for special achievement in a particular field I was watching last night Larry King Live doing his hero segmants and was trying to think of my heros and realized I don't really have any other than my grandmother. She stayed in a marriage that for a lot of years really sucked before it got better and I have been doing that too. Right now we are still going through the suck parts but I am hope every day it will get better. I don't have any weight loss heros. I admire a few of the biggest loser girls that lost weight but don't use them as heros. |
 HI SUSANB -- nice to see so many of our old friends join us here again; we awoke to 4 inches of nice big fluffy snow ***** and it continued to fall on and off all day; so far, it's still here but we are much farther north (the roads did melt though). The trees look so pretty and the branches are hanging heavy but the birdies are lovin' that as a good place to play.
2b ~ I'll play ... my biggest hero is JESUS CHRIST: always has been and likely always will be; hmmm ... trying to think of a woman hero would likely have to be my mother and grandmother. My mother saved me from drowning when I was toddler and my grandma saved me on a bad fall down a flight of stairs in my early 20's; I remember both incidents like it was yesterday. Tricia ~ here they are hiring nurses; esp for hospitals and the Red Cross right now ... Well, the car is running again; it was the gear fuse like we thought, but we will have to pay for a house call as DH couldn't see well enuff to find the fuse. Now the brakes lights don't work so that is likely another fuse so I will help him tomorrow becuz I can see better than him; oh -- the joys of aging ... Hope you all have a restful and relaxing weekend ... Rosebud  |
 Hope all our Canadian friends are keepin' warm today. We got our car fixed up now: one fuse was in the wrong place so the brake lights are OK now, and the windshield wipers fuse had to be replaced. So we're good to go again ...
We had a bit of ***** this AM, but it has stopped for now; had lots of doves and other birdies at our big feeder today. I just love to watch them watch us ... the rock doves keep looking for us to bring out more food! ;) Hope you all have a peaceful day, and a marvellous Monday tomorrow ... Rosebud  |
Had a nice rain free day today, warmish too :)
Got the Christmas lights up and started some shopping. Kids came for dinner, it was all tasty. Bought a huge bag of bird seed today and filled the bird feeder in the back yard, fun to watch the little ones flit about. My geraniums and fushia are blooming like crazy still and I have Christmas lights up......confusing ......lol |

According to the Farmers Almanac
Start Diet to Lose Weight: December: 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th
Best Days Explained... According to Farmers' Almanac tradition, when the moon is in the appropriate phase and place in the zodiac, it's widely believed that activities will be more fruitful or lead to improved results. The period between the new and full moon (first and second quarters) is considered as the best time to perform tasks that require strength, fertility and growth. The period between the full and new moon (third and fourth quarters) is best for harvesting, ******ing growth, etc. Consideration is also given to the relationship the moon has with the 12 ruling signs of the zodiac. |
Hello All! Thanks for the invite.
I'm Donna, mom to 3 boys (ages almost 3 to 8)and married. I'm up in the Yukon and we have lots of snow. It's about -15C today, not too bad but I'm finding I'm always cold this winter and not getting much exercise. I have a treadmill but it's second hand from a friend and it's loud and just not made for my weight. We have an elliptical as well. We are trying to get outside with the kids as much as possible before it gets too cold. We've gone on walks and tobogganing a few times so far, they love it! |
