Tgif!!!
CC, sorry to hear about your accident--scary!
Tammy & Holly, your bootcamps and workouts sound like something I would aviod at all costs! Someday I hope to be that ambitious! I'm not VP of anything. Not even thinking of trying to be. Congrats to you all you guys though! So busy and accomplishing so much...I am envious. Sounds like you are are very well liked, and active! Grandma moved to the nursing home in town this morning. :halfempty I went to see her at lunch. I already want to pitch a fit. Visit #1, she was in a wheelchair, no shoes, and hair an absolute mess! She can walk! She needs shoes. And a hairbrush run through wouldn't kill anyone! Her hands were dirty, and they wanted to force feed her milk. She doesn't like milk, she told them no. I told them she needs a soft diet, juice to drink (pop whould be even better), and if given a little time, she'll happily feed herself. Patience! I'm afraid that I will be right on my thoughts that she will go downhill fast, because it's easier to just do everything for them, instead of assisting them with what they need. Pushing someone in a wheelchair is easy. Walking with them to make sure they get where they are going is time consuming. I know...I've been there and done that. Worked there for several years in fact. First as a CNA and then as a Phlebotomist in the lab. I might just go visit several times a week just to make sure the job is getting done. Nobody is perfect, but it doesn't hurt to TRY. DH is home and has already asked about inviting friends for supper tomorrow. I love to entertain! I hate to be not able to eat (a lot) when I do. I feel that I need to eat so the company will. Guess they are going to have to adjust, or I am! I've been keeping up with you guys, just haven't taken the time to write back. Sorry. Hope you all have a great weekend. Be good! |
good morning!
Tammy - back to back Boot Camps - whoa! :faint: how exhausting! You GO!!! Colleen - I am glad you are close enough to visit your Grandma, and try to get her better care...that must be VERY frustrating! Oh and I have to clarify about the election, we have a core of barely 12 members, and mostly everyone has already done a stint on some committee or elected level...so it was just 'my turn' I guess...but yeah I like to think of myself as Madame VP  I HAVE to do my daily exercise, because I can't seem to control what I stuff in my mouth! but today I did 30 Day Shred Level 3. Had sweat dripping off my nose, that workout kills me! well I think it's gonna be a busy day at work, we haven't had any amounts of snow lately but its Winter Carnival for University of Vermont and they have the games at Stowe Mountain Resort, so I know the store will be busy. At least the time flies by. Hello to Reda who is having fun I'm sure!! :dancer: |
Colleen, I am glad you are able to keep a close eye on your grandma. I "think" once the home figures out that you are going to be on their heels they will be on the straight and narrow. I hope it works out for you.
Holly, way to go on the exercise! Guess what.... I went to the thrift store and I got a STURDY step for $5 (they had 2 to chose from, but the "step" one wanted to bow in the middle). Now I just need to get the DVD. I am a little excited. I am getting ready for when my boot camp contract runs out I can keep my exercise routine up without the fee. I am sure CC is having fun. I am going to go for now. Tammy |
good morning chicks :)
Tammy - whoa!!!! what a find!! (the step) that is so great! That is something to look forward to, to throw a different form of exercise into your regimen. I know the step is what has given my thighs a little firmness. And just that a step routine is working both large leg and butt muscles PLUS it is cardio. I hope someday to have a find that like too! Hi Colleen, Hi Reda! Yesterday afternoon my bosses (the husband and wife) left to go to a party, the husband left at 4:30 and the wife stayed with me til about 5:20. Just from looking at their records, they should have known that the store gets alot of business until closing. oh my gosh. At 5:40, people started streaming in...I don't know when the store has been so full. No one notices the sign outside saying that closing is at 6:00 pm  I finally got them all out at about 6:12, that doesn't seem like much later than regular closing time but by that time I am READY to go!! because then I have all the other closing duties to do. :D I am going to ask Boss today if I can please arrive at work 15 minutes later tomorrow, because that's how long I had to stay last night, and I don't get paid a penny more for that, so that is the only way I will not feel resentful. sorry for my ranting  you won't hear me saying anything bad about my summer job once I'm there :D have a great day, I'll try to check back to report what exercise I do soon... |
Holly, I think it is absolutely fair for you to ask to arrive later. It is not fair for you to have to give up the 15 minutes of YOUR life for them. It would be totally different if they were good loyal employers-- but the way it sounds is they are mediocre at best. I say ask firmly.
That was a great find (the step). I don't mind going to that thrift store, they are clean, they don't stink..... and they put disabled people to work. It is great to see them being able to contribute and they love it. Yesterday there was a buy one get one free sale. I spent $12 on a jean jacket, RAIN pants (free), and a long sleeve shirt, workout pants (free) and the step. Not too bad. When I was younger I would not have thought of such a thing.... but now, I am like-- Heck Yeah! Colleen, CC.... how are you two? We are starting to plan for our Lil Sturgis trip. I am looking for "cheap" leather halters and things like that. I am getting excited. I am going to go. I took Jake for a walk..... and I am doing an hour of kick boxing today at boot camp (normally I don't do boot camp on the weekends--- and the other kick boxing was 30 minutes)..... we will see if I am still alive tonight.... lol. |
good evening, Tammy are you alive after your kickboxing :D WOW $12 for all of that, I love it!
and yes I asked to arrive 15 minutes later tomorrow and he said 'absolutely'. my workout this morning was 30 Day Shred but I was lazy and did Level 1, and truly did not hardly sweat at all so it was a weak workout. I was just in a crappy mood and then went to work being a real Surly Sally  but I got over my bad mood after a few hours. I felt bad for my bosses actually today! because this afternoon their 13 or 14 year old daughter went skiing and broke her elbow. The hospital is only 5 miles from my house, its actually on my way home, so I bought the daughter a helium balloon and card and stopped by the hospital on my way home. My bosses were REALLY super-duper touched that I made the effort. You know how much I rant against them, but I was feeling that empathy that a parent would feel, if one's child was about to have surgery. So chalk me up for being employee of the month for that :D DH had a nice Super Bowl Sunday special meal, so of course I overindulged. At least I'm not really full feeling, but it was an assortment of snacky party foods. It was kewl to have The Who perform! well have a nice night chicks. |
Holly, I knew by our talks that you were a good person. Any good person would do the same.... even if the boss is a butt! I commend you on that. And, it never hurts to have an extra "feather in your hat" as an employee.
Well, for the love of Pete..... we are getting snowed on again. I got to run at boot camp this AM, but not do the class b/c he closed it down. We are expected to get between 5-8 inches. Our office is still open though.... probably not for long. :( I hope this is our last snow..... DH said yesterday that his grandmother always said if you have snow that lingers on (like we did from last week) and it gets above freezing and "should" be gone, that means it is waiting for the next one. Normally we get 1 or 2 snows a year..... this makes #3..... so i am done with it. Even though it is pretty to watch with a cup of coffee (in my biker chick mug)...... I want spring to be here! DH got part of my Valentine's Day present and gave it to me. It is a black coffee mug (I am a coffee slut--- for lack of a better word), that says BIKER CHICK..... I love it! Colleen, how is your family, especially your grandmother? CC, hope you are good. I am going to get busy. Got to do payroll--- in case we go home early. I did run 2 miles today, walked one so far.... in case I don't get to do much later. Tammy |
Start again Monday is here!
Be good during the week and blow it on the weekend...that's not really what I had planned but it seems to be consistant. Started with fried chicken, ended with Taco Bell. DH is trying to make an effort. I think we are on a move to a better direction. He's worried that sometime soon, I'll weigh less than him, and that's never happened before! I'm still losing, just gaining some back on the weekends. This week will be better. The point where I think I will EVER want to be looking for little leather halter tops is WAY FAR AWAY!! I can't even imagine it. I haven't worn a halter top since 4th grade!
We got a fish aquarium this weekend. 2 actually, but one has to go back. 1st one I bought sight unseen from a newspaper ad. Supposed to be 155 gallons. I asked again when it was delivered. When we took the measurements and figured it out--75 gallons. I knew it didn't look beg enough. It was dirty too! When I checked the filter, it didn't work, nor did one of the lights...we paid $250 for this piece of crap. I was so mad!! I called the only phone # I had right away and left a message to not cash the check, that the aquarium was not the advertised size and the components were inoperable. Then, I stopped payment on the check. That's all well and good but I was worried sick about this guy (with a horrible rap sheet) was going to come beat me up or something. I locked all the doors, and couldn't sleep for the last 2 nights. It's been a terrible ordeal. I've never been so afraid of a stranger like I am of this guy. I haven't heard back from him yet, but talked to his MIL, who said you can't trust a word coming from his mouth. The court reports worry me...he has a history, and no record to tarnish! I wish DH were home again! I was so disappointed that Tim told me we should go get another aquarium that I wanted, but it was 2 hours away, and cost more. We did, and I LOVE IT!! It is a bow front 80 gallon tank with a nice stand and topper, angel fish, and an awesome, easy to change, filter system that is under the aquarium. I am so happy with this set up. I played with it for 2 days! the people we got it from were great, and very helpful. Gave me a whole different feeling. Other good news, that I have not told anyone else yet, is that we got an offer on our house we have for sale. That will help us so much! It's a repectable offer, and we countered a small amount higher and clarified what we would be willing to leave with the house (appliances, building materials, cabinets, paint, garage heater...) We are hoping to hear back today if it is acceptable. Anyone got any spare praying time for us!?:D Grandma is hanging in there. She's got a lot on gumption! She's been talking a mile a minute. It's probably good that the most of it nobody can understand! She's no doubt chewing their a$$ about something! I didn't go this weekend to see her. My mom did though. She wasn't happy either. Snow to come tonight--9"! ick. Happy day to you. I'm done with my rants now. If you don't hear from me forever, it's because the psycho, lying, aquarium guy kidnapped me! |
Hi everyone- we finally made it home yesterday
Boy did we have a Great Time- I will tell you even the ride out there was great - there were 3 vehicles convoying and lets say lots of stuff going on from vehicle to vehicle almost like teenagers on a road trip :) Colleen glad to hear grandma is getting her umpf back - sending my prayers your way on the house selling, I am sure that would be great Tammy back to back boot camp - you go girl that is awesome and wow what great buys you got and all that for $12 bucks- you know I will look to see what I got for leather halters I may just have some to send your way :) Can't remember if I already gave them away or if I still have them but I will surely look Holly you are a very generous person and yes it is a motherly thing and you can't take your feelings for your boss out on their children, seems your winter boss is working alittle better with you this year than they have in the past- and what is the count down to your summer job at now? Well all of girls this weekend decided to decide what our themes will be for our rally in Algona in this year and we are going simple - Mardi Gras theme since we bought alot of the stuff this year and then school girl, and still have to pick one more.. I did tell them all that I would make us some halter tops in the Mardi Gras colors and I will make the guys all shorts in the same colors. We did meet a very nice couple this weekend they live in Canada and told us when we go on our trip that they have a big house and we should stop and stay there for a night - they were talking about having a little party for us so we need to let them know what night we will be stopping because they want to grill out and have everything set- DH showed them a picture of my bike and every timed sometime new stopped by adn sat down Glenn wanted us to show them my bike they were so excited. Oh ya just reminded me DH won $600 Friday night and he gave me $200 of it and then of course we went to Harley Shop next day and spent a couple hundred more but hey it wasn't our money and we got to come home with stuff to show for it :) Yippee Well this morning I was back up at 230 shift again will be doing that for about another month then I should be back to my normal shift - you know it makes it really hard to want to exercise but I did get 30 minutes in today I just have to get back in the groove I wish it would get nice out so I can walk outside but that won't happen for a couple months yet Well I suppose I should get supper going I will check back in later |
hi chicks!
Colleen, I am scared for you!! do you think you need to notify local PD?? I mean, really, that guy sounds mean and scary ... please keep in touch so we know you're okay! And congrats on the second aquarium being so much more as to what you wanted :) And as long as you are still losing, then it seems to be working that you can cheat a little on weekends. And I'm glad your grandma is so lively :) Tammy, I looked up Little Sturgis, and it does look like it could get fun and wild  I say WOO HOO to leather halter tops! :carrot: and statuesque hot blondes who ride their own bikes who wear them :D Reda, I'm so glad you had a great time and isn't that nice about the Canadian couple offering their home, isn't that how most bikers are that you meet  so generous. Congrats on the $$$ won also! Boy you really are disciplined to get in any exercise with your schedule, WTG! Well you guys who are getting snow, I am so sorry!! because our state would GLADLY take some. I feel bad for Washington DC people, they're gonna get hit again I heard. This morning I did the Kelli Roberts step tape, I didn't do all 40 minutes, just 30, but I was sweating. have a good evening :) |
Well...... I am up now b/c there is no school..... or boot camp tomorrow (for the love of Pete-- I need them open to get this last 10 off).
Colleen, you know my DH is in law enforcement.... he advises to at least let the PD know what happened, just so they can keep an eye out. I always have time to pray for ya! I am glad you got your aquarium. You know, I struggled with what you are struggling with when I first started, in fact, I would bet I would have been done losing weight within a year of starting had I not did the weekend splurge thing. The thing you have to remember is this is a lifestyle change. If you entertain on the weekends, you have to do what works for you. As long as you are making progress.... that is great. And you WILL get to the leather halters and things..... step by step. BTW, ladies, I would not be caught dead in a halter like that around here.... where people know me, but I figure what do I have to lose there where most people don't know me.... (there are a few men going that we know... but men are not catty like women.... lol). I figure I am not getting any younger and if I want to do this.... I need to go for it now. CC- glad you are back! Woo Hoo! I agree with Holly. You know bikers get a bad wrap sometimes, but they for the most part the most generous and kind people around. Glad you had fun and that your DH gave you some of his winnings. Most important that you had fun! I can't wait to see pics of the halters you make. I HATE that you are back on the early shift. Is it b/c you are short handed? Holly, I hate that you all need the snow and are not getting it. Normally we only have 1-2 snows a year..... we are on 3-4 now. Trust me, you can have it! Lol. I ordered the Gilad step tape.... man I need it now (along with the treadmill). I ran 2 miles today (up from my normal 1.5). Bootcamp was open long enough for me to do that.... but not tomorrow. However, I did have a snowball fight with DS2..... and I BEAT HIS BUTT! It is amazing how much fun I had.... but sad too. It is sad that I had not done that with my kids in the past 11 years. I have been too overweight. I missed out on a couple of snows...... that I should have been out there playing in. But, we had fun today. I did not know that DS1 was in town and he texted after the snowball fight and asked what I was doing, I told him and he asked where.... but by the time he got here (b/c I did not know he was in town) we were done and cleaned up. I spent about 35 minutes out there.... enough to break up a sweat. Now for sad news. My DS1 was in ROTC (reserve officer training course)all in HS. There were two instructors for that class, of which they are HUGE mentors to my DS (b/c his father was not really there for him-- but that is another story for another snowy day). They were there for him when his dad died..... just good people. Well one of them died today of a heart attack. It is very sad and such a huge loss to his family and our school (which is filled with thugs). I hate it for his family. He was young (early 50s)-- career military. I am going to try to get some shut eye. I think.... I will gab more tomorrow. |
thanks guys!
Snow, and more on the way. No plow yet. Boss called and asked if I wanted to take her hair appointment in town. That will work good for me. Maybe plows will have cleared the road by the time I get done.
The aquarium fool called and left a horrible message on the phone yesterday, but otherwise have not heard from him. I still am worried. We live in a village of 400 people. No PD here. If he shows up I will make sure I have the landline phone in my hand. Not a very good weapon, but something I know how to use! Haha. A good ol' fashion snowball fight sounds like a load of fun. Not this morning, but normally fun. I hit 279 this morning. I more to get to 20# lost. I would like to accomplish that before the 11th so I can have 20# in 1 month! I think I can do it! It will still keep me on track for my April Fool's goal of 265. I am impressed with myself that I haven't gotten sick. I always do when attempting WL. This is it--the time when things are just going to work right, and I can make lifetime changes. :carrot: I'm ready! I am at awe of how busy you all are. The ambition is just pouring from you! I do hope that weight loss will help me to attain that as well.:) Hope you all have a great day. Colleen |
Colleen, I am sorry the creep left you a nasty message. Maybe you should look into getting some mace or something to defend yourself (not only for this creep). Or, maybe he is just talk right now.... maybe he has bigger fish to fry.
I am so proud you have lost so much this month. I mean, think about all your splurges and you still pulled off 20#! That is great! :carrot: I would take the hair appt. too! And, I almost guarantee that when the weight comes off..... you will get more ambition. When I started October 2008 I could barley walk through the airport in Atlanta on my way to see my son graduate AIT. That was when I knew I had to change (not to mention the bet my son made with me b/c his dad died of a heart attack). Holly, we are still getting snow and the temps are falling. Boy--- I wish you had this. CC, was today an early day for you? I am going to get around the house now. No boot camp means got to find something to do to be active. Tammy |
good morning!
Colleen, I am :dancer: and :bravo: for your loss amount in a month!! even with the splurges. You are determined aren't you!! this will be it for you :carrot: I am sorry the creep left a horrible message but hopefully that is ALL he will do. In a small town like yours (as ours) do you rely on State PD for coverage? Tammy I am sorry for the snow!! I haven't shoveled in weeks, I wish I could take some of your snow  good lord I NEVER thought I would say that :D Hi CChick! I looked at your Facebook quickly, and loved the birthday cake they had for you!! awesome!!! I just finished doing the Karen Voigt step/strength tape. oof. I wish I had the discipline in eating, that I do in working out :?: whatever. I'll get there (where's that snail that Tammy has in her sig line, lol!) I did something different before I worked out this morning - my hair has been feeling dry (the processing with the highlights does it) so I gooped it up with thick conditioner, then wrapped a bandana around it, and then worked out. It has dried now and I look like an oily rat  but I think it will be nice and soft once I'm out of the shower...I hope. have a good day chicks! boo to your snow! |
Hey girls, yep early day today and just got home and it took me 2 hours to get home (I drive 60 miles away) my manager is on medical leave and not scheduled to go back to doctor until March 3rd and we don't have an assitant right now so that leaves me to do all the book work everyday. The roads are awful snow falling again and blowing and reeeking havoc on our roadways- there were 3 rollovers within a 30 miles stretch and also 5 cars in the ditch within that 30 miles but the whole 60 miles there were about 10 in the ditch and 4 rollovers- so I again take it very slow and cautious- however I am getting really tired of driving in this weather everyday and at 330 in the morning
Colleen yes I would suggest getting some mace as well especially since you do not any officers around- hopefully this guy is all talk Way to go 20 pounds in a month is great and you will pull it off no problem Tammy snowball fight sounds like lots of fun as well - Oh Tammy sorry to hear about DS mentor - sending my condolences and prayers Holly let us know how your hair turned out after leaving conditioner on it till it dried- Oh ya my birthday cake did turn out great, I really did have a great night Ok well better get rolling talk to you later |
CC:, I am sorry you are having to do these early AM shifts.... especially in the weather. Please be careful!
Holly:, My WW leader does her hair like that once a week in boot camp. She said her hair dresser suggested it. She says it is great for the hair. I know this is going to sound weird..... and if it was riding season you would not hear this----- but I am ready to go back to work. I don't want to use all of my days off (even though I am salary) to sit in the house with a whining dog and nothing to do but housework. Tammy |
Tammy I am a butt for not absorbing you telling of the officer who died, I am so sorry :( my sincere condolences.
on a lighter note, my hair did feel better and I think maybe I'll do that once a week. Reda I am sorry that you have to do that drive twice a day, and so freakishly early, and in winter! |
good evening chicks!
Colleen, did you hear back from the prospective home buyers? fingers crossed for you :carrot: I've been trying so hard to get my motivation back for eating right, I keep reading ALL over 3FC for Support, Diet tips, plans, etc. Nothing is really sticking for me! Especially eye-opening was realizing that what I put into me is like 70% of weight loss, and the exercise is 30%. Or even 80/20. I wish it was the other way around, for me! today (this morning) I did The Biggest Loser Cardio dvd, with Bob and Jillian, 30 minutes. And tackled the kitchen, it was just a mess because DH dumps hardware stuff and junk, and he's good at buying groceries but buys too much and there's no place to put it, and DS #1 has his kitchen stuff from his apartment in there...and under the sink DH had been buying and putting CAN AFTER CAN of air fresheners and bug spray...there were at least 4 cans of Black Flag (we don't have that many bugs!!!) and 5 cans of air freshener (we don't stink that much!! ) And some pots and pans that we just don't use because they were all beat up, so a couple of garbage bags later, I got it cleaned up  But this was hilarious...one of the things I threw out was a two-burner griddle, it was at least 15 years and and the Teflon finish was flaking off, and we haven't used it in years. So into the garbage it went. AS SOON AS HUSBAND CAME HOME, HE ASKED WHERE IT WAS  because he wanted it for pancakes (we had been wanting 'breakfast for dinner') So I debated fibbing but decided on truth, and confessed that if he wanted it, he could probably find it pretty easily in one of the 4 garbage bags outside  |
good news
We have an ACCEPTED offer on the house we are trying to sell! :carrot: Hope they can get financing. We will very soon be busy trying to get our "stuff" out of the garage and sheds! They are full! House is empty and clean.
I had a meeting all day for work in LaCrosse. Just got home a bit ago. Long day, but I always like a day out of the office. On the way back from the meeting I got some fish for the aquarium. The angel fish we have are thinking that I brought them SUPPER! An expensive supper too! They are terrorizing the new, littler fish! Tomorrow is weigh in. Hoping to get to 278. I had a big lunch, but went tiny on supper to make up for it. I haven't heard from the creep that I am worried about. A friend on Facebook told me to keep some wasp spray handy! I thought it was kind of a good idea. It shoots quite a ways! DH will wonder if we had a bad case of wasps in the house! Reda, when can you quit the crazy drive and schedule? What has everyone got planned for Valentines Day? I'll check in tomorrow. |
good morning chicks :) Colleen, congrats on the house offer! and good luck to the newbie fish in the tank, hope they don't get eaten!
Wasp spray, hey I got a few extra cans under the sink for you  but yes I have read that also, you can spray from a distance. I didn't speak yesterday of the bad attitude I had yesterday morning; I did work out, then went back to bed. And stayed in bed until almost 1:30 pm. It's a terrible thing to do, but some days are just like that for me, despite my depression med and exercise and using my Happy Light. But then I did clean up the kitchen, so I felt it kinda equalled out. I am ashamed that I do that (staying in bed on days off) and I never used to if one of our sons was home, because I was too ashamed of myself. But now I don't care :?: because maybe I want one of them to ask me 'are you okay mom?' but they haven't ever asked. Well my husband doesn't ask me how I'm doing depression-wise either. Okay didn't mean to throw a pity party for myself, I have alot to be thankful for and I just need to push through my depressed times. Because always, the next day is better. We have no plans for Valentine's Day, it's a work day for me, and being married for 30 years, well I guess we're done with romance  no, that's not true, but we've never gone out for Valentine's Day, it's too crowded. Also around here it falls around President's Day weekend which is horribly busy for the ski town and there are out of staters everywhere. But DH will usually have a bunch of flowers for me, and the boys will get me chocolates even though I say "no" but my mouth says "YES!" I'm on second cup of coffee and haven't worked out yet. Talk at cha's later  |
Good Morning ladies (well to CC it would be afternoon :D).
Colleen, that is great about your house! I know that must take a load off your mind. I think it is funny about the wasp spray. He won't know what hit him! Good job on eating light for supper. Those meetings serve nothing but JUNK to eat most of the time. Holly, I am sorry you had a down day yesterday. I know the feeling of wanting to stay in bed. Just remember when the boys don't say anything to you about it..... it maybe b/c most boys don't know there is a world beyond theirs (and they don't have enough blood flow to think with the head on their shoulders). I know that they love you.... you are an awesome mom. I do applaud :cp: you for not letting it turn into multiple days, weeks, months. I know it would be easy to do that. That was sooo funny about the hamburger cooker. That would be my luck! Why are men such packrats? I don't have any plans for Valentine's Day. Even though we are newlyweds, we don't do the whole spend a butt load for flowers and candy. It was fine when I was younger, but now the $ could go for something for my bike. Lol. I did get a "Biker Chick" coffee mug the other day. CC, how is the weather? Is it still bad driving? I bet you will be glad to get some relief! I need to get busy. Tammy |

I forced myself to do a pure cardio workout, no strength, because I know deep down I NEED alot of cardio to burn calories. So I chose a Gilad "Fat Burning Workout" which is all cardio, it is about 40 minutes but 30 of that is hard cardio. Then I dragged out this stepper that DH bought but never uses himself. I did the stepper for 20 minutes. I didn't think this little thing could do anything but it does. The sweat was dripping down on that display as i would look down at it! Hopefully I can do some of this often in addition to the other workouts. And maybe if i know I'm doing better, I can eat better. |
WhoooHooo! I did it!
Now for this next month...another 20# would be great!
Holly, I'm glad you're feeling better today. We all have our off days. I know from experience that depression can take quite a toll on us! And the wrong medication can even be worse! I've been taking Celexa, and it keeps me on an even keel. I had taken Paxil, and really, it made me a mean witch--I wanted to choke everyone (not just the aquarium guy!) That wasn't working well for me (or anyone else around me! LOL!) I find that I can control my eating better than I can get the gumption to get up and exercise. No doubt that I will NEED to do that too to keep progressing. There is a book out called the Cheaters Diet. I think that must me the plan I am on! By accident of course, but it seems as though that is what is happening. Work hard all week, cheat a little on the weekends! Wish I would have written the book, and gotten rich!! Tammy, I didn't know you were newlyweds! Late congtatulations to you. DH and I have been married for 10 years. Second one for both of us. He has 1 son that is 18, and has been brainwashed. So we don't see him. I have 2 kids DS, 21 soon and DD 23 and married. No grandbabies, just grandfish and granddogs! Reda, Do you have any Reda time? Sounds like you are working and driving all day long!! Take care all. |
Hi Girls- sorry been missing in action but I got home yesterday and got on treadmil then jumped in shower as we had our Eagle Rider meeting last night got home about 9 last night then off to bed- it was a very long day
Weather has been straightening up for me driving wise anyways - but fornately I do have about 4-5 more weeks of this early morning stuff then I should be back to a normal shift Holly to funny about the grill - that is always has it goes-shoot I have even threw something away thinking well I haven't used it for along time then a week later thought oh shoot I need that today???? Darn it Sorry to hear that you were down for alittle bit but Tammy is so right about the boys - it made me smile and I need that now a days as I see myself as crappy lately to Hey Holly I was actually looking at one of those steppers but very skeptical - I think it is the whole balance thing..... Colleen so happy to hear that you have an offer and hopefully financing will go through and you won't have to worry about that part any longer Well girls I am going to get off here and get on treadmil, at least I have been getting that done each day if nothing else :) Whoo Hooo tomorrow is TGIF |
good evening chicks :) LOL @ 'grandfish' and 'granddogs' Colleen :D My other drug that I tried first was Lexapro..oh my gosh...I fell asleep everywhere. No kidding.
Reda, whoa you are great for jumping on the treadmill after such a long day and before a meeting!! About the stepper...it does take a little effort in the balance, but after the first few minutes you get the 'feel' for it. And I decided to hold dumbbells for added resistance, and that seemed to help my balance, that I had my arms bent and up. And it didn't cost too much, about $69 I think. How was your day Tammy? How is your town digging out from the snow? I had a good day today, pretty productive. What a diff from yesterday. Just shows again that if I have a bad day I just need to remember, it will get better! well waiting for dinner to settle in my stomach a bit before I attempt some more stepping. I should make myself do stepping if I watch TV. |
supper
Boss was cleaning her freezer and brought in casseroles for us. Nice to have supper made. Even nicer that I didn't eat much! Blech!
Went out for lunch with the folks. They chose Dairy Queen. They were nice to substitute a side salad for the french fries at no extra cost. :) Is there a good low fat or low cal dressing that you like? They all taste weird to me. By the time I get a salad so that I ENJOY it, it's not any longer good for me! Ham, turkey, cheese, egg, nuts, croutons, bacon, thick ranch dressing...ummm that sounds way better than leftover casserole surprise! Going to move living room furniture tonight. We have a big living room, but not much for walls! Makes it a challenge! The stepper has my knees hurting just thinking about it! Does it bother your knees? Have a good evening! Colleen |
good morning chicks :) the sun is shining, so nice.
this morning I did 30 Day Shred level 3; then 20 minutes on the stepper; then about 10 minutes of Gilad abs. Colleen, the stepper actually doesn't hurt my knees, but probably because I have been exercising pretty consistently for years. That was one of the things that GOT me working out, it was w-a-y back in the early 90's and I can remember getting out of my car and actually hobbling up the path to the house, my knees hurt so much at the end of the day. Now just about every time I get out of the car and walk to the house, I remember that and am so glad I don't have that anymore. LOL @ the blech casseroles! President's Day Weekend and it will be not fun at work but I have a lunch and snack ready and I HOPE I don't have anything bad today!! Hi Tammy and Reda  and any other moto-chicks! |
Hello, well made it home today finally- the sun is shining here today as well and we are like 24 degrees today - yipee above 0
I was just about to say I am staying home all weekend but forgot I do have to bowl tomorrow night but for the most part staying home on the couch all weekend :) Just think how quick the time will fly by when you get that busy at work before you know it - it will be time to go home :) Glad you are feeling better though I haven't gotten on the treadmil yet today not sure that I will, I am feeling extra tired today and the laziness is setting in :( Hi Tammy and Colleen |
good evening chicks! Hi Reda :) I hope you don't have any other plans than bowling so you can laze around a bit, you deserve it!
Today wasn't crazy busy but it did go by quickly. AND NO COOKIES!!! :carrot::carrot: |
Yay nice job Holly on no cookies-
Well we have our first bike ride set up for April 17th - It is called the Flood Run and runs along the MN-WI border looking at the website it is huge- Colleen you may have heard about it possibly?? Anyways it will probably be chilly so I will need to lose some weight to fit in my leathers comfortably, I did already decide that I will ride with DH instead of riding my bike because we are about 300+ miles away and leaving one day and coming home the next so to far on the chopper and besides if it is going to be cold I will want to be close to DH for warmth :) So far tonight I have done nothing and that includes supper - I told DH he would have to cook because I have no umpf to do it Well wanted to check in but heading back to couch to laze around- Have a great night all |
Checking in
I haven't heard of the Flood Run. I'll have to check it out.
Everyone needs a lazy evening sometimes. Enjoy it! You gals all work so hard on your bodies to look good! Don't forget to relax once in a while just because you are deserving of some "me time" too! DH is wiped out, and been sleeping on the couch for a few hours. About time to wake him up and go to bed! He'll be up bright and early in the morning--I'll be wanting to sleep in! Hope you all have a good weekend! Take care. Colleen |
Colleen I forgot to answer about the salad dressing question..I really haven't found one that is just as good as regular. If I remember I try to do the dip method - measure out just one or two Tablespoons of the dressing in a little cup, dip your fork tines in it, then spear your salad. It helps to get the salad dressing flavor without using quite so much. I do appreciate the salad dressings that have the tiny hole opening and you squeeze thin lines out, as opposed to the whole bottle openings that GLURT a big blob, LOL!

Good Morning ladies. How are you? I am doing okay.
CC, I am glad you are getting to be lazy this weekend. You have been on the go since before the holidays. Holly, I am :carrot::carrot: that you beat that ole cookie . I agree with CC. I would much rather be busy than to sit around. Colleen, When will you know if those people got financing for your house? Have you heard from fish tank creep? Did your DH find it funny that all us sissies were giving you home defense advise? My DH took me out for an early V-day dinner. Japanese of course. I loved it. I had a rough day yesteray. Remember the leather corset I ordered? Well, I got it in and it was TOO BIG! Way too big. I went by their size charts and I figured that b/c leather ran small they were right, well they were not. It was delivered at work and my coworkers had their input about it and my weight and how they think (here we go on a rant) I need to "talk" to someone about my body image disorder and possible eating disorder. Okay, remember earlier in this post, I told you I ate Japanese.... I did not puke, I did not take laxitives...... but since I did 2 boot camps this AM and I am trying to get the last 10 pounds off, and I ordered a corset too bit, they think I have an eating/body disorder. The day got even better..... I went to the ATM and got some cash. I was counting the cash and forgot my card. Well, when I drove down the road about 5 minutes and realized what I did, I called the bank. She said she heard the card retract and drop and she logged it. I told her I would be there in a minute. NOPE.... since it was logged it had to be destroyed. She had it in her hand...... and it was policy to destroy it. Now, I am glad the bank has good security measures so if it does get stolen that is great..... but the card has my freaking picture on it..... I had my ID, why could I not just had my card back? The big deal is that was just a tiny branch of the bank. I had to go back to Jonesboro (15-20 miles) and get another card made! :tantrum: Anyway, I hate it when common sense is overrulled by stupid policies. I enjoyed the gesture that DH made and I enjoyed the peaceful dinner with him. The house is very peaceful (except Jake wants to take a walk), so I am going to finish the housework. Cook breakfast, then DH and I will have our normal Saturday AM coffee date..... Almond Joy Latte here I come.... y'all know, since I have an eating disorder. :D:rofl: |
Good Morning
Well I am trying really hard to stick to being lazy today but the laundry is hollaring at me and just plain cleaning the house so more than likely I will start cleaning house soon Oh ya I totally missed the salad dressing to- you know I love the Hidden Valley Ranch Light dressing more so then regular but that could be because that is all I have had for years, I have tried the fat free but that is no good ....... Colleen you should check it out not exactly sure where you are at but if you live along the MN border the run probably goes right through your town Tammy your dinner sounds so good I think we will probably go out tonight before bowling for VDAY dinner as well- We both love HuHot and it is 30 miles away but I am bowling there tonight so there you go stuffing the face it will be Whoo Hoo on the corset being to big that is a great sign :) I can't believe your co-workers are acting the way they are - you have lost alot of weight and everyone knows in order to do that you have to watch what you eat and exercise - they are just jealous that you got it figured out and are a HAWT |

Can you return it for a SMALLER size??? Ok well house work is calling me so maybe I will get alittle done today because of course it doesn't get itself done, as we all know that |
good evening chicks!
Tammy I would also have been exasperated at the debit card thing..like you said when people doggedly stick to THE RULES instead of common sense. And also WOO HOO at a leather corset, too bad you're too small for it :D but yeah I hope you can exchange it easily. And Reda is right..you got smaller by eating right and exercising, what the heck, why don't people see that, and realize that someone who has done that needs to be vigilant about eating and exercising forever! Reda I hope you enjoyed your Saturday! |
Feeling better
DH and I got the creep taken care of. Gave him $20 for his troubles (against by better judgement--DH said I had to). I will sleep much better tonight!
I did overdo the eating a little today. It started out good with a pear. Harmless enough...then a donut at an open house thing, then Taco Bell, then supper--steak and taters. I really enjoyed the steak, and I made my taters with a little olive oil and baked them with seasonings. The worst part was Taco Bell--always a weakness! Tomorrow, I'll be good. Promise! Tammy, I know you are disappointed in not getting the size leathers that fit, but what a nice feeling huh!? I wonder why it is only the people that have lost weight that get blamed for their "eating disorders", instead of the ones that can't quit eating...isn't that just about as big of a "disorder", with some pretty serious health consequences as well? Invite those coworkers to work out with you a few times! That would teach them! Reda, I do not have to TRY to be lazy. That happens all by itself! It stuck me funny that you were trying! LOL! Holly, still stepping? Pretend you're stomping cookies! We checked out the Flood Run. It's quite a ways from us too. Not planning on going anywhere at this point. Thanks for bringing it up though. We live about 75 miles from LaCrosse (southeast). I have about 15 different salad dressings in the fridge. All of them are nasty. I like the FULL flavor ranch! I also have margarine, the "I can't believe it's not butter" kind. That will die of old age before I eat it! OMG that stuff is horrible! Is there any that is better for us that actually tastes okay? 1 angel fish gone. Poor thing swimming sideways, upside down, backwards...finally I flushed him to put him out of his misery. I wish I could be flushed when it's my time to go...hate to see the suffering. Chin up...have a happy Valentines Day with your sweeties! Stay out of all the chocolatey goodness! Colleen |
Ok well I was typing message last night when computer just went black but working this morning now ???
Anyways I did clean yesterday but thats ok I do feel rested up today as I am up at 3am and on the computer Colleen that is great news that you got rid of that guy I was wondering how far you were from the flood run, this is our first year going, there is a couple that have been going for more then 5 years and they invited us to go so I figured ya lets go - anxiously wanting riding season to start :) I know we are going to freeze our tushies off but again anxiously wanting riding season to start :) Oh darn as far as the chocolate goodies,, I just gave in and ate a reeses peanut butter cup, so naughty I know Well I suppose I will see if there is anything productive for me to do at 3am without waking up DH- Have a Great Valentines Day |
good morning! Colleen I am glad also the creep is gone. Too bad it took $20 but I guess it's well spent. Karma, karma...and I'm sorry about the angel fish. But you have a hilarious way of describing things, LOL!
Reda, wow did you stay up after getting up at 3 am when you didn't have to?! HI Tammy  It has been a killer busy President's weekend at work..we broke the sales record yesterday. Only 1 or 2 stupid people. AND NO COOKIES FOR ME GOING ON 5 DAYS :carrot: I did have 5 Valentine's chocolates yesterday..but I had to  DH gave me 3 cards, two bunches of flowers and the small box of chocolates (about 8 or 9 in the box) I gave him a card and a receipit that shows I am getting his FIFTH wedding ring repaired, lol. I still have my original! Sat. I did the Karen Voigt tape (strength/step) but only 2/3 of it. Yesterday was Biggest Loser Cardio, warm up and Bob, 25 minutes. Today was Fat Burning for Dummies, hadn't done that in like a year! but I chose the High Impact when possible, and held one pound soft weights for the whole thing. have a great day!!! |
Good Monday to you all
Wow, Holly, Your DH sounds as rough on wedding rings as mine! We finally gave up and bought him one made out of titanium. He's REALLY hard on glasses and on cell phones! The last pair of glasses he lost were a month old, top of the line, name brand, bifocal, transition lenses, and he watched them go down a hill in a stream of water from the road, in the rain, and into a creek! I told him he should have been AFTER them! I could care less if he got wet in the process! I would have gone after them! Of course, I can swim though, he can't! (might have made a difference) The last cell phone he ran over with the semi-tractor!
Ran out of time to write. more later. Colleen |
