Welcome DaisyBoo I hope we can all help eachother.

Well done Lindor for walking 3km!! That's great.

I've been to my weight watchers meeting tonight and am up 1.3kg This tells me that I need to watch my food intake MUCH CLOSER!

Hi Daisy Boo, and welcome to Aussie Chicks. I am Ani - feel like I have been here for years .

Are you following a particular plan, calorie counting, or doing something completely different? Good luck with reaching your goals - we will give you all the help and support that we can, and the girls here are a really friendly, down to earth bunch.

Julia don't let the numbers get you down - you will get there. What's your plan for this week?

Lindor how are you travelling? Did you manage to walk today?

I'm still on track. Midway through Week Two of the new journey and have had a couple of challenges this week. But I have remained determined, and I will find ways to overcome those things that are in the way.

I have the next two days off work, and am intending to get some rest - but to stick to my food goals.

Nope didn't walk today. I have felt quite flat today, and I am sure a good, brisk walk would have helped that, but I couldn't find the motivation.

The plan is to walk tomorrow...and I have promised my dog that we WILL go!!

I haven't managed much water today either, and I have eaten too much of the wrong stuff yet again!!

I am having trouble sleeping at the moment too - having some rather vivid and freaky dreams that wake me up and then I find myself fighting the urge to fall back to sleep. Hard to explain, and probably sounds quite weird too!

Anyway, I really want to make an effort to get back on track over the next few days. It is possible I will be returning to work on Tuesday and I want to be able to slip back into that routine again without too much trouble, and without falling into further bad habits because I find myself hungry at morning tea time and decide the cafe is a good place to hide out for 20mins! Ordinarily, I wouldn't have morning tea at work and I don't want to start just because I have let my body get used to me feeding it at any time.

Daisy Boo, welcome to the group!

There are a couple of things I need to work on today. The first is making sure I drink enough water - something I always struggle with in this weather. The second is coming up with meals that will fill me up and keep me from feeling hungry a few hours later.

I'm about 80% happy with my food choices this week, but there are things I can tweak to improve my nutrition. I am 90% happy with my level of exercise, and if anything just need to add a little resistance training to what I do now. But I am only about 50% happy with my fluid intake. I find it hard when the weather is cold, to drink 2L of water every day. I know I get some water in the food I eat, but it's still something to work on.

Three more days until weigh-in, and I have promised myself to work on some of these issues.

Does it have to be water Ani? Is there anything wrong with drinking tea, or coffee, or chocolate and adding that to your fluid intake?

Ok, I know they contain a few more calories than water, and caffiene has a diuretic effect, but surely there is something other than water and more appropriate for the climate that you can drink?

I have done my walk for today....dog is happy! Oh, ok, I s'pose I am kinda happy too!

Food intake has far from perfect already, and water is still in progress.

AND I AM SICK OF WORK HARRASSING ME ABOUT WHETHER I AM RETURNING ON TUESDAY OR NOT!!! LEAVE ME ALONE, DAMMIT!!

I drink tea and coffee throughout the day - and that would add up to about 1.5L, but I don't count it for some reason. I also eat an orange every day, and usually have rice as well. So there's water in both of those too. So I guess I physically take in a reasonable amount of water - but I have always felt more healthy when I have drunk 2L of water every day.

I don't know - there is plenty of controversy about what we "should" drink. In the end I suppose it comes down to what feels right for us individually.

I'm having a pretty good day with food again, and expect to meet my goals. Still feel pretty stuffed up with this winter lurgy but nowhere near as sick as I was earlier in the week! YAY for that!!!

Julia, never mind, at least you know where you're at now and you can do better next week.

I read such an interesting diet blog the other night. The girl made the analogy that we should brush our teeth twice a day, but sometimes we don't for some reason or other. If we forget, we don't brush excessively the next day to make up for it, and we don't beat ourselves up. We just get up the next day and brush our teeth. If only we could learn to treat healthy eating and exercise like brushing our teeth.

Daisy, welcome. You are at almost the exact same place as me, so we can do it together.

So far today...

I have stuck to porridge and coffee for breakfast.
I have been for my walk (3kms = approx 30mins).
Consumed 750ml of water.
And I am about to have a tuna sandwich for lunch, followed by an apple.

Interesting analogy Gen, and there's some salient advice there. It's definitely worth thinking about in the context of how we react to those bad days.

I have set myself a winter challenge. It isn't hard, it's just that I imagined how I would look/feel if I continue on my weekly journey - and I really want to achieve it. So I am hoping to have lost around 8kg by the end of winter. So far I am down 1.7kg, so I am off to a decent start. But there is a long way to go…

Today I am doing next to nothing, aside from watching footy and reading - and doing a few domestic chores. I start work at 6.30am tomorrow morning, so need to have clothes ready/lunch sorted tonight.

Feel like I am on track and motivated today. And I have already drunk 1.2L of water and it's only 11am

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ok, lets try again!!

So far, I have had porridge and coffee for breakfast. I managed to talk myself out of frying up a couple of eggs to have on butter soaked toast!

I am about to go for my walk. I had tinkered with the idea yesterday that Sunday was going to be a rest day for me, but I actually feel like going for a walk today! I didn't take the dog yesterday, and I won't today...she is still on 'L' plates when it comes to the leash and I figure on the weekend there are to many people about. I enjoyed yesterdays walk on my own with my music playing in my ears...it's kinda like thinking time for me, and I think I want that again today.

Still not looking forward to returning to work on Tuesday! It is really disturbing me!

You know Gen, I was thinking something similar while walking today.

I know I can do lose weight, I know it is just a case of controlling what I eat and doing some exercise. I've done it before. So what made me stop? And why am I finding so hard to commit to it this time? Is it because I know I can do it when I am ready but my head doesn't think it is ready yet?

I have started to see the effects of my weight gain. I am not just talking about having to buy new clothes, and seeing the stretch marks reappear. The other night I woke myself up snoring!! And then as I tried drifting of to sleep again my breath kept catching in the back of my throat as it relaxed! This was one of the things that I first notice improve when I lost my weight last time!

I need to take this seriously again! I am seeing the health effects my excess weight is having on me! I need to get back in control!!

Wow guys I just skimmed through 3 pages of posts without me so please accept my sympathies/congratulations, comisserations or whatever needs to be. lol.

I'm down a kilo. woo lmao. anyhow hope to get on a little more often after the next week or so. Moving house and having a break from my partner of 7 years. AND I should start to see some weight drop off. As it is stress that raises cortisol (?) levels and that increases weight gain. So not as much stress it should drop right? RIGHT? lol.

Anyhow Hi and bye. got a big day tomorrow xox

So I sucked it up and updated my ticker... everyone else has to now!

Vonni, sorry to hear you're having a break from the man, but hopefully you'll get a chance to recharge your batteries and just look after yourself for a while.

I would like to announce that altho my bakers delight detour took me slightly over cals today, I did get off my arse twice and do 2 x 15 mins on the crosstrainer. I know, it's a pathetic effort, but believe me that was hard. Even dragged out my polar watch and my HR was 165-190 during the exercise.. how fit am I!? My resting HR is around 90. Jeez. I had it down to 60 a while ago, so there's plenty of work to be done. At least some exercise is better than none, so I will have to build it up from here and try to do a minimum of 30 mins/day this week.
