Oh ok well if you can get it done while you're in Aussie then that would be great! Glad to hear that your appointment went well. Good luck

Ani I'd thoroughly recommend weight watchers. The number one thing that I like about it is that I can eat whatever I want as long as I plan for it.

Just the other night I had my dinner and then scoffed a delicious caramel toffee ice cream to finish and all within my points!

I was gobsmacked to lose 2.9kg in the first week. I know that won't continue but gosh, what a great way to start it. That's taken me down to 91.2kg so not too far away from being back in the 80's. My work trousers are feeling looser already and that's very encouraging too.

Feels great to be back on the wagon!

well done Julia. I went to WW many years ago to and had some good results all but slow. dont know what i am doing at the moment. not in the right mindset to actively persue weight loss but I am being concious of what i am eating and making sure i am not going overboard. i have my 20 yr old daughter and my grandaughter back living at home and it is sooooo hard. pretty stressed trying to teach her how to prioritise and be a mother properly, not just when it suits her. thyroid still not out. go for another lot of scans etc at the end of this month. they have decided while on waiting list that it will be 3 monthly check ups instead of 6 from now on. have been advised by another doc (one that works at my work) to get referral to specialist so we can deal with it once and for all. going to ask at my next appointment.
I am not eating chocolate and chips on a daily basis anymore but weight still there grrrrr. i dont drink softdrink or cordial or alcohol. i dont eat fried foods, i cook healthy enuf. my only vice is 2 biscuits with a cup of tea in the evening. so why the heck is this weight still creeping grrrrr.

Vonni I share your frustration. I am eating mostly healthy food, and work gives me enough activity to burn what I eat - but it still keeps creeping on if I am not really careful.

Of late I have noticed I have gotten into really bad habits of snacking at night - and even though it doesn't seem much (in terms of calories) it is still there.

One of the challenges I have recently become aware of is that I think my housemate is having some kind of influence on me. It isn't direct - it's just that I eat so healthy compared to him, that I feel like I am doing OK. It's a trap, because he is morbidly obese, and he eats takeaway EVERY day. I kid you not - he goes to MacDonalds for breakfast on his way to work, and Hungry Jacks on his way home. He is almost 150kg, and that's really bad.

But I have to stop thinking that I am doing better than him, and just focus on what I am doing that is good/bad for me.

Getting there - but it is slow and frustrating.

Have a nite duty tonight so i be off to have an hours sleep before i go. Still loving my job. and hope we get a baby tonight. havent had a delivery in a while and its pretty awesome.

Ani I'm a big snacker. Í'm generally pretty good with meals but I do snack a lot and that's where I lose the plot. Something I'm finding really good with weight watchers is that I can still snack as much as I want as long as I plan for it

Went to my third meeting tonight and am down 700g for the week which I'm pleased with. That's a total loss of 3.6kg so far!

Hi other Aussie ladies! I just joined the site a couple of days ago, didn't know there was this aussie thread!
I'm focusing on being more active, at the moment, as I've been, well, I haven't been active at ALL, and then I'm going to try and tackle my eating habits. One thing at a time, I'm hoping I stick to it this way.

Hi Sairz, welcome!

This thread has gotten very quiet of late but there are a few of us still lurking around

With only 2 weeks until my half marathon I finally went to the gym and churned out 10km on the treadmill and that took around 85 minutes. Felt great when I finished! So pleased that I've gotten a good gym session in today.

For dinner I had a delicious salad of baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, roast pumpkin and kumara with pine nuts on top and a honey mustard dressing. YUM!

Hope you're all well.

Yea its easy to fall off the bandwagon after the first couple of weeks when the results are slowing down a bit.

I have been doing WW for 8 weeks now and lost 8.7kg. So close to my 10kg. Really want to get there next week so am upping my work outs this week!

Enjoying this lovely weather we are having? :P

Hi Girls.

I feel like I've been neglecting all of you, sorry

Been very busy with work and family and just life in general. No weight loss to speak of but I've managed to stay put where I am. Better nothing than a gain I guess.

No real news either, work sucks (but that's pretty typical isn't it!!) home life is wonderful so that makes up for work! Looking for another job at the moment, hopefully it won't take to long to get one.

Its been almost thirteen months since mum passed away and I think I'm finally getting used to it, things don't hurt as much and I cry less over silly little things. Life is a little bit empty without her but I have great memories that keep me going.

Nothing else to report.

Stressful times. The bloke very nearly became the ex bloke in the weekend and we've got some issues that we need to work through. Lost the plot with diet as a result as I had too much on my mind to be able to think about what I was eating as well. Have also been neglecting exercise which is not good.

Determined to get back on track today and am back to recording everything I eat and I'll be going to the gym tonight. Have lost 4kg with Weight Watchers so far and am keen to keep the scale moving in a downward direction.
