well ani and julia sounds like a great time for us top all band together and get serious i reckon.. we cant keep on gaining it is too ditructive to everything in our lives.. so lets change it ..
we need to get a plan and stick with it..
my plan for this week is
150 minutes of exercise ( minimum)
no snack foods at all only fruit an veg for snacking.. and no snacking after dinner ..
Boo I forgot my iPod so no gym for me today. 40 minutes cardio without music would NOT be a happening thing! I did go for a 35 minute walk though so am happy with that.
Had a delicious salad and steak for dinner and the only snacks I've had tonight have been an orange and a RJ's raspberry liquorice bar and chocolate bar which was 150 calories. I've come in just under my calorie allowance for the day.
My big challenge is not snacking in the evening so I'm pretty happy that while I did snack tonight I made good decisions.
Have made my lunch for tomorrow and packed my gym bag AND IPOD!!

Reason: cos I wasn't making sense!
hello strangers. Well the naked truth for me...... 78kg. heavier than when i started 3fc nearly 2 years ago.
I weighed myself 2 weeks ago and was excited to see 76.8kg and i have been making ok choices. I have cut down from about 6 or 7 cuppas a day to only 2 and sometimes 3. I have been eating a healthy breakfast EVERY day, I have been only eating a chocolate bar o, nce or twice at most per week instead of daily. I dont eat packet chips anymore which i used to daily, and havent been having take away so WHY have i gained over a kilo in 2 weeks? It will be interesting to see my next blood results for my thyroid.
Today I DID treat myself to a small chicken kebab. but all i have had all day is 3 cuppas, the kebab, a quarter suimin for dinner and 2 kingston biscuits. I know the suimin isnt great but its better than take away yeah? I dont cook wednesday nights as matt is at the station so we have whatever. Oh and I had a glass of cordial. No water alas. But I have filled a litre bottle and it is in fridge ready for tomorrow.
Oh boo Vonni that's no good You're in the right place though - jump back on the wagon with the rest of us!
Today's going really well so far. Work has slowed down to a far more reasonable pace so it's nice to have a bit of a breather for the first time all week. I've got my gear all ready to hit the gym tonight and I will do the weights and 40 minutes cardio that I should have done yesterday.
had a good first week behaved myself stuck to my goals and pulled off a 1.9 kilo loss .. so back down to 104.3 .. which is about where i was b4 xmas.. so im happy with that.
my goals for this week are the same as last week
eat less bread more protien..
drink more water and do a minimum of 150 minutes of exercise..
It has been a pretty good week for me - not perfect, but a significant step in the right direction. I have been recording all my calories - the good, the bad and the ugly - and have made a real effort to drink more than 2L of water every day.
I will weigh in on Monday and see how I go. I feel more confident and motivated than I have done for months, and I am ready to get rid of this excess 10kg.
Amy - great work! I am really glad to see you back here and posting.
And Julia I am really inspired that you are back at the gym.
Vonni we have all gained weight, but I think we can work together to have a much better 2010 and all lose some weight together.
Lindor are you lingering?
Barb are you around?
I am working from 1-9pm today and am pretty confident I will be able to make my goals. It's going to be really hot here for the next few days, and the air conditioning at Bunnings is awful - so I have to be careful.
Anyway, stay strong everyone, and stick to those goals. I am on a mission to get below 80kg by the end of the month.
Yay Amy and Ani, it's great to hear you're both making progress and sounding positive
I ate really well yesterday and was well within my calorie allowance. My gym session was sponsored by caffeine All day I was feeling unmotivated and lazy so I had a coffe at 4pm and that pepped me up so much that I had a really awesome workout - 40 minutes of walk/run intervals.
Today and tomorrow are big challenges for me as I always lose the plot during the weekend when I don't have the structure of a working day to keep me on track.
So far so good today (but then, I am at work!) and I'm going to try really hard. It'll be an even bigger challenge as some family are arriving today who are visiting from England and we're having a family dinner.
Looking forward to checking in with you all on Monday!
The next four days at work will be a challenge. The air-conditioner doesn't work in the section I am in and the temperatures will be 38, 41, 41 and 38ºC. Yesterday, when it was only 35ºC I felt really lethargic, and lost heaps of fluid through sweating.
In anticipation I have bought some Gatorade powder to keep in my locker. I also have access to free cold water all day - but it's still hard when you have to wear wool socks and steel-cap boots in the heat.
Neither does it help that, on weekends, I work with a bunch of guys who a) are part-time and b) wouldn't work in an iron lung. So my own workload increases.
But I feel pretty confident about food - when I am at work I take my lunch, and I have healthy food for both home and work this week. And there's absolutely no risk of not drinking 2L of water in this weather!
So hopefully Monday's weigh-in will be positive for me and heading in the right direction. Hope you all have a great weekend
Right - bracing myself for a 41ºC day in the big green shed. The only thing that matters is to hydrate myself, and I have already started doing that.
Tomorrow is weigh-in day and I have written down everything this week, so I will have a good idea of whether I am getting the balance right in another week or so.
For the most part I'm pretty happy with the week that has just gone, and it remains to be seen whether I am eating enough/too much to lose weight. But I am really determined to stay on track, and have been making very conscious decisions this week - so it's definitely heading in the right direction.
i read something interesting the other day .. if you reduce your calories,, to only 100 cals less then you need everyday for a whole year you will loose 5 kilos..
200 cals you will loose 10 kilos ..
300 you will loose 15 kilos and so on
sounds pretty goood to me..
of course the same is true the other way eat 100 cals a day more then you need and you will gain 5 kilos a year..
so this kinda tells you every cal counts....
Its sound really cool when broken down like that..
Ani hope work isnt too hot and exhasurting.. JUlia have fun with the visting family members and have fun..
as for me still on track went for a 6 km walk today.. been gardening some more and wii inf my way to skinnines..
have a house warming party to go to tonight which should be great fun. not expecting to behave too much.. but wont go over baord either.. have kept my cals very low all day to try and make up for it.. ..
