Annie – I'd like to try one of those Honeycrisp apples. I bought a bag of granny smith apples the other day and was disappointed in the one I ate this morning. Usually they're crisp and tart, and this one was neither. Eeew, watching the snake eating a mouse. Corn bread, now that sounds tasty!
Ceejay – on the phone with computer tech support – my sympathies to you!! Seriously, I hope you get the problem resolved quickly and with a minimum of grief.
Happy – I like the idea of sitting outside with a hot chocolate or hot cider near the fire pit. We have a hammock, but didn't use it much this year. Would love to see some caterpillar/butterfly photos! I told bf that I'm dumping the "new" bike. He's probably thinking, "Now I have to remove that basket AGAIN!" (I have a double basket that straddles the rear tire.) We actually bought the bike used for cheap, but it was practically new. It should be an easy sell next spring.
Mel – Hope you enjoyed your quiet day. Why is it always so quiet when the boss is out?

I'm very tempted at work and home to just dump the papers I haven't needed to touch in a year or two. Re brownies – they are a favorite of mine, but a good one is hard to find. I make my own, from scratch, but not all that often – just too tempting.
Michelle – yeh, we had a lot of wind. Still windy today. Less than yesterday, but enough to make the bike ride to the train more difficult. It looks like decluttering will have to be my winter project – haven't gotten enough done lately. Seems like I tackle one project and it takes a long time to pick up the next project. Sigh. I heartily agree – exercise is a great stress-reliever!
Rose – Congrats on the 3-day walk and the weight loss. Enjoy your trip to Las Vegas and congrats on your son's nuptials.
Shad, I hope you get your photos printed out the way you want them. Maybe the machine was on the fritz. I have a pretty good cable with which to lock my bike. It's a thick coiled cable that I fight with every day to thread through the wheels, so I hope it's a deterrent. My other hope is that my bike is too dorky for someone to steal - it's got these big handlebars, and two baskets flanking the rear wheel. Surely a bike thief would rather choose another bike parked at the rack.
All the talk about the cooler temps makes me want to hibernate – after I bring in some of my potted plants from the yard. I bought some Halloween window clings yesterday – saw the Peanuts gang and had to buy them! I bought some long sleeved tops and sweaters about a month ago and it looks like it's time to start wearing them.
I finally got to the gym last night. I did a yoga class. Soreness has begun, but I was surprised to have done pretty well with the poses after not having exercised much at all for a while. Pedometer today is at 8,785, but I just realized I turned it off around lunchtime. Missing a couple hours of steps around the office. Oh well, I'm not sure how accurate it is today anyway, since I left it on while I rode my bike to the train. Okay, another novel here, so I'll stop. You're welcome.
