  • It's a crazy, crazy, crazy busy Tuesday - which goes so well with the Monday I had solving crises and putting out fires! I may have to go to the gym tonight, as it really helped me release the stress of yesterday. I did 1/2 hour of Zumba and 1/2 hour of weights last night. Ahhhhh. It felt good. Tonight we have to bring in some of our potted plants as there is a frost warning. In September? WTF??

I'll be back for personals later.

    Love you all,
  • Happy Yappy Tuesday..............

Got my free coffee at Speedway Gas Station with my coupon. Got the Pumpkin Spice with extra pumpkin spice creamer in it. YUM YUM....my day is off to a great start.

T brought over one of his sons last night for dinner. I made veggie soup in the crock yesterday, homemade pie and cookies and corn bread. Then they left at 7 when I and T went to work. Kyle (his son) wanted to watch the snake eat a live mouse for it's dinner. GROSS....but he thought it was interesting.

SHAD.......well you can bring your stuff to CVS tomorrow night when I work, we have all sorts of film, disc and digital developing machines. I would even give you my discount. Surely that is worth the cost of airfare. haha I agree with you on the men thing. Just having the boys over last night confirmed I do not want to clean up after someone 24/7. Extra everything, food, dishes, kitchen to clean. NO THANK YOU.

Not much else going on here. HELLO to the rest of the gang. I will check back later today, boss is out, and I am sure to get all babbly later. lol

    Love and Hugs,
  • Chelle is the sneaker inner today....OMG FROST! I believe it as our high today is 59. Burrrr, I wore a sweater today as our office is always like a freezer anyway. Great job on the exercising, I knew you could jump right back in there and get on track from the weekend. HOORAH for you. Try not to work too hard and if the fire gets to intense, call those good looking firemen to help..lol

Hugs so nice to see you again.

    Mel
When he caught his blunder, the whole congregation laughed. He said at least I know you were listening. He's a light hearted soul so it didn't bother him.

    Annie
I so agree with the extra things to do when you have a house hold of people. It's hard enough just picking up after myself. I'm hoping that the computer crashing will let me get back into my "fly lady" routines.

    Michelle
Your cooler air must be blowing our way. Suppose to be 47 degree's tonight. I love it, however I"m not ready for winter yet. Good for you in working out your frustrations in the gym.

    Happy
Have you deecided on which week end in October you will be taking your vacation? I should call my sister and make her decide on which week end she's coming. I'm ready for some more down time.

I talked via chat to a Dell technician but since I'm at work they couldn't look into the problem. I'll contact them after work or bring it with me to work tomorrow.
  • Quote: ... Yikes here comes W*N*ER.
Would that be WINNER, WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER? Sorry I could not resist.

Yep, "the season" is here. Nose is continuously wet, the sinuses are back in full swing - headache and all and the WORST part is... I just about fall asleep at night when post nasal drip wakes me out of a sleep with a horrid coughing fit. I hate it. I also hate taking the allergy stuff each night unless I really, really need it. I looked for something with sleeves - long - to wear to work today. And walking through the office, they actually are running the heat.

Sorry I did not get on this morning. We had a power burp over night and my computer was fussed up. Had to run utilities which cut out my PC time.

Mel - if you can just toss those boxes without peeking in, you are my hero. Maybe I should let you loose in my house. I'm sure DH will appreciate and will be extra nice to you.

Annie - the coffee sounds delish. I love that but can't handle an entire pot of it at once. Need to bring it to the office where we can all share a cup. The autumn / holiday coffee creamers are the best tasting I think. Yum um. You need to start selling baked goods at work - you seem to like to bake and you could probably make more than you do from the CVS job and have fun at it too. I would buy your stuff!

Michelle - yep, too early for frost. I agree. Glad you got your endorphin fix yesterday. Saw some cute autumn decorations from Lowe's should send them to you for ideas since I'm holding out this year.

Shad - hope the DB shows up. And a pleasant visit. About the photos - I highly recommend getting them printed at the store rather than doing them yourself. Even with photo paper I think the ink is not as good and the pictures WILL fade. Trust me. I have some on my cube wall and it's amazing how they loose color compared to the regular photos. And I am not anywhere near natural light so it's not the sun fading them.

Time to run to the afternoon meeting to Patty and Laura.
  • Hi Ceejay - missed you. We are going the last week in October. I wish I could get some LIVE color reports so I could put my mind at ease that we are going at the right time.

    Good luck with your laptop.
  • Annie – I'd like to try one of those Honeycrisp apples. I bought a bag of granny smith apples the other day and was disappointed in the one I ate this morning. Usually they're crisp and tart, and this one was neither. Eeew, watching the snake eating a mouse. Corn bread, now that sounds tasty!

Ceejay – on the phone with computer tech support – my sympathies to you!! Seriously, I hope you get the problem resolved quickly and with a minimum of grief.

Happy – I like the idea of sitting outside with a hot chocolate or hot cider near the fire pit. We have a hammock, but didn't use it much this year. Would love to see some caterpillar/butterfly photos! I told bf that I'm dumping the "new" bike. He's probably thinking, "Now I have to remove that basket AGAIN!" (I have a double basket that straddles the rear tire.) We actually bought the bike used for cheap, but it was practically new. It should be an easy sell next spring.

Mel – Hope you enjoyed your quiet day. Why is it always so quiet when the boss is out? I'm very tempted at work and home to just dump the papers I haven't needed to touch in a year or two. Re brownies – they are a favorite of mine, but a good one is hard to find. I make my own, from scratch, but not all that often – just too tempting.

Michelle – yeh, we had a lot of wind. Still windy today. Less than yesterday, but enough to make the bike ride to the train more difficult. It looks like decluttering will have to be my winter project – haven't gotten enough done lately. Seems like I tackle one project and it takes a long time to pick up the next project. Sigh. I heartily agree – exercise is a great stress-reliever!

Rose – Congrats on the 3-day walk and the weight loss. Enjoy your trip to Las Vegas and congrats on your son's nuptials.

Shad, I hope you get your photos printed out the way you want them. Maybe the machine was on the fritz. I have a pretty good cable with which to lock my bike. It's a thick coiled cable that I fight with every day to thread through the wheels, so I hope it's a deterrent. My other hope is that my bike is too dorky for someone to steal - it's got these big handlebars, and two baskets flanking the rear wheel. Surely a bike thief would rather choose another bike parked at the rack.

All the talk about the cooler temps makes me want to hibernate – after I bring in some of my potted plants from the yard. I bought some Halloween window clings yesterday – saw the Peanuts gang and had to buy them! I bought some long sleeved tops and sweaters about a month ago and it looks like it's time to start wearing them.

I finally got to the gym last night. I did a yoga class. Soreness has begun, but I was surprised to have done pretty well with the poses after not having exercised much at all for a while. Pedometer today is at 8,785, but I just realized I turned it off around lunchtime. Missing a couple hours of steps around the office. Oh well, I'm not sure how accurate it is today anyway, since I left it on while I rode my bike to the train. Okay, another novel here, so I'll stop. You're welcome.
  • Morning all,

Not much to report today. I did have a nice time with the brother and his wife yesterday. He is beginning to look old, however I guess that comes with the territory. He is 62 after all.
We had baked turkey drumsticks with new potatoes and different types of salads followed by some cake that they had brought from the Cheescake shop on the way here. They buzzed off around 3 and I had the rest of the day to myself.
Today I begin grouting. There is plenty of it to do and I need to make a start on it before I get sidetracked and waylaid by something else. I have some packet grout powder here, but I may go down to the hardware store and see if there is a bucket of ready mixed. That will certainly save me some time.

Poop, the phone is ringing again. No time for personals at the moment. See ya
  • DANG...IT'S A BIT CHILLY HERE TODAY. WIND BLOWING. GLAD I DON'T HAVE TO GO OUT THIS MORNING. BUT FOOD SHOPPING IS TOMORROW. JENA AND I DON'T EVEN WANT TO THINK ABOUT WINTER. • Good morning to yahs,

It was darn chilly out there this morning. Cat wanted out at 5, by the time I got up at 6 she was huddled on the carpet wanting in. She flew into the house, went to her snuggly blanket, curled up and there she sleeps. Guess it's officially fall.

I had a great brownie recipe - make from scratch. Once done you poke some holes in the top, pour in some amaretto and chill. OMG they were sooooooo good. But I lost the recipe and it's not on Disaronno's website.

Hope the wind died down some Laura. Used to hate that, I lived on the corner in AH, leaves would blow across the street from the north and from the west. My yard was filled with leaves and I was the only one who did not have deciduous trees in my yard, yet I had bags and bags of leaves to pick up.

Geez Mel, going with the police to an alarm that turned out to be an occupied apt could be kinda dangerous if they thought it was an intruder DH said come on down! Quickly cuz it's trash day

Your dinner menu sounds quite tasty Shad. Glad you had a nice dinner with the DB and they didn't overstay their welcome

I've gotta run now. Meeting a friend for lunch so I probably won't be back until late tonight. Hugs to all I didn't get to this morning Have some fun today everybody.
