Happy - Sorry to hear about the dishwasher being on the fritz! A couple years ago, we replaced our old dingy carpet in the family room with really nice wood laminate. It's gorgeous! We love it! We hope to eventually be able to do our bedroom and our living room, but that will come after painting the exterior of the house. Seems like there's always something to spend money on when it comes to the house. I hope the dishwasher repair/replacement doesn't cost too much. $300 for a headlight??? Is the dang thing made of GOLD? That's crazy!
Well the T came over for dinner last night and FORGOT to take the trash to the curb. Tonite on the phone I am going to ground him for a week. haha
Sissy's surgery went ok. They went ahead a cut out what they could. Won't know the results from the biopsy till next week. Doc said if/when she decides to have a baby and does get preggo, he will begin to measure the length of the cervix portion that is still within the vagina. If it starts to shorten he will then place stitches in to hold the cervix shut. Her chances of miscarriage have gone up substancially. (sp) She slept at my house last night with vicoden and and heating pad, oh and Miss Hella B laid right next to her, comforting her. Really kind of cute for a little meany dog...
Happy...you needed a headlite and I need a brake light. Mine will be much less expensive however.
Ceejay...we used to have window air conditioners that froze up all the time, what a pain in the arse. Used to get the blow dryer out and thaw it.
Chelle...I worked Monday night, then Weds, Thurs and Sat this week. Congrats on the size 16 comfortable slack fit. Rock on and soon it will be 14s. You are so awesome...
MEL...hope your corner of the world is rolling smoothly. I know that is a lot to ask where the seniors are concerned. I am still considering the commune site for us Worldlies. Sounds better and better every day. I can't stand not having my doors locked at all times. My son keeps saying, "must I lock up like Ft. Knox every night?".

I have the sleepy's today. Went to bed at 9:30, but didn't sleep sound. Had a slight aniexty attack just a bit ago. Now I am plum tuckered. I may do the xanax thing tonight with Ceejay when I get off work at CVS.
Got up this morning and was going to start eating healthier. So what did I do. Ate about 8 strawberry twizzlers on the way to work, had a handful of peanut m&ms, and just ate half a ham and swiss crouissant sandwich...Oh and started to ole period Monday. We will blame it all on that. It isn't even 11:00 am yet. I brought leftover roast beef, taters and carrots for lunch, don't even know if I will have room for them. Oink Oink.
Sad news this morning from the States. I hear that Teddy Kennedy passed away. One of the few to die in his bed I guess. Stupidly the news section I am listening to, had him at 74 at 7.00am and now he has aged 3 years and is now 77.
Mel - get some rest today. I do not need you sick - comprendez??
Michelle - good to hear that you are getting better at last. Gentle exercise should help the crud clear. 1" of water in the house. Yikes. Must have rained hard.
Happy - you've replaced the fridge and the washer, now the dishwasher. What could be next.

I went down to the doc yesterday. Surprise, surprise I was only there 10 minutes and was his second patient of the day - and he was happy to talk. Ye gods do miracles never cease. Anyway, he has given me my script and another one for some dermatitis I have been scratching for a while. Unfortunately my BP is up - well it is on the right arm. Pretty normal for me on the left. I'm lead to believe that it is a fairly normal occurrence to have one do more that the other. He also says my cholestrol is up and there is nothing that can be done about that other than diet and exercise. He states that the so-called cholestrol reducing supplements like margarine instead of butter and all that stuff is just that..... stuff. Lose 4-5Kgs and get back into the exercise and you will soon be back where you were - ok? Now move on. Since I can't stand margarine, I have decided I will only use my lovely butter for baking etc and eat dry bread. Like we agreed, the calorie count between butter and marg is almost exactly the same, the list of ingredients is 15 vs 2 and the production method is intervention vs natural process. And there is no guarantee it (Marg) will lower the levels. The main thing it has over butter is the saturated fat level. No one will ever convince me it tastes as good.
Anyway that was that and I came home, repotted a couple of pot plants and started back in on my overstuffed and outdated wardrobe. Well past time to chuck a heap of it out.
Today is more of the same. Cleaning in the bathroom, more work in the wardrobe, more painting in the loo. It's not so hot today, so I should achieve a fair bit. So hi ho off I go to get stuck into it.
I turned the a/c back on last night. It was 85 degree's inside when I got home. It didn't take long before it cooled off the bedroom. I slept very good except for a strange dream that was about an ambulance. I'd been watching Law and Order, SPV unit. The a/c may need to be washed out again. I haven't done that since I've been back from Texas. However the a/c unit itself is probably as old as the apartment.

I've had good success with the fish oil supplement for my cholesterol. It does thin the blood also so be warned. I've slacked up a bit by taking it 3 times weekly instead of every day. I'm really wanting my good cholesterol to be above 50 at next screening.

My mood just lifted by one single phone call from my nephew. I talked to his wife via FB this morning and she mentioned my birthday. He's invited me up for a week end and told me he would take me to see Andy Williams again in Branson, MO. They live in Nixa, Mo. His wife told me this morning that she interviewed Mr Williams for Branson TV. It's hard for me to go to my sister's house since she is still going to college and work's on the week end's. I'm really excited. I was told to check out FB so that's where I'm headed.
Oh I almost forgot, while I was visiting in Dallas over the summer I was helping with the dishes. The dishwasher itself was full and there were still pots and pans to do. I was washing those by hand and my sister's 4 year old grand daughter came up to me and said Gra'ma Jeanette do you like washing dishes like that? Mommy always uses the dishwasher. She pulled up a chair and stood on it watching me doing the dishes.

I think when you "cross over to the dark side" and become one of the seniors, you ought to have a month of glory to give back all that you have had to endure And I think you've reached a point in your life where you just need to accept that routine is good for Mel. Shad, I hate margarine. Don't eat it. Still do butter but don't do it much. Oatmeal and salmon and fish oil tabs (but not all all at once!) will help with the cholesterol numbers too. Some people like the Italian dip the bread in a good olive oil but I never could get into that. VERY common to have 2 different readings on the BP. I used to know why but I forgot.
Annie - your story about Twizzlers, M&Ms and such - you are living my life, aren't you? Some days it just goes like that, I don't know why and it's the days we have the strongest convictions. Comfy hugs for Sissy and quick healing. I have locked my doors for so long I can't remember leaving them open tho I know I did once upon a time. My neighbor would often forget to close her overhead garage door. The garage was attached to the house and the inside door was flimsy and never locked. Would freak me out but she was nonchalant about it. Then DH who makes perfect sense at times said, "Let her be, at least the robbers will go there and leave us alone"
Hope you are feeling better Michelle and got the water cleaned up. Don't need dampness stuffing you up even more.

Happy...great philosophy your DH has on the robbers. I am having a bit more control on the eating thing. No twizzlers for me, however Hella B had two this morning...she ran me nuts till I gave them to her. I mean crying and barking at me for them. Was a bit funny, made me chuckle.

What a busy night at work (CVS) last night. Barely got the vacuum ran between customers. Started at 8:45 to do a 5 minute vacuum job and it took me til 9:50 to get it done cause of all the customers. I like it that way tho, makes the night go way fast. Work again tonight. You would think I could sleep like a baby all this working, but oh no, I couldn't sleep last night so I watched Cold Case from 2-3:00 am. I really like that show for some reason.
