Renee-Great Job on the weight loss so far!! Feels great, doesn't it!! As far as your out of town issue, I agree with the protein bars. It's tough, just make smart choices and you'll be fine. Make sure you drink alot of water as restaurant food tends to have a higher salt content.

Tamara- Woohoo!!! Crossing my fingers for you that you hit the 160's this week!

Destiny- That's awesome news!! So how does the 160's feel? Thanks for the info on Bootcamp- I'm going to look into it!

Momof5k- So did you hit onderland today??? I'm dying to know!

Betterlife- Great job with the exercise girl! I'm patiently waiting to hear about your W/I!!

HMJUNKIE- I'm willing to bet it's the sodium. Hope you have a big drop at you next weigh in. Sodium will getcha everytime!

amgirl- You're so so so close to your goal!! You must feel amazing!! Isn't shopping a whole new experience?? I use to hate shopping....it use to drive me crazy that I had to shop in the Plus section where all the clothing consisted of flowered grandma clothes. Now I can fit into regular sized clothing! That's very exciting for me!!

I'm a little frusturated with my weigh in. I was up 1pd on Monday and up another 0.2 pds today. Granted I did have a piece of birthday cake over the weekend. I've been doing really good since Monday and I'm still up. I had a new girl for my weigh in today and she totally rubbed me the wrong way. In the course of 5 min she asked 4 times whether I was getting all my food & water in, if I was SURE that I wasn't eating anything extra and if I was SURE I wrote down every little thing I ate. Like seriously....why would I lie? I'd only be hurting myself. It just makes me a little mad that I've been trying so hard, and then to not only be up in weight but basically called a liar. Losing weight is hard work...why should I be made to feel like a failure for a gain??? I understand that they are doing their jobs but a little compassion would be nice! GRRRR! Here's hoping Friday is better to me.

Hey ladies...to those who have lost way to go, and those who didn't just keep keepin on...don't let it get you down or you will end up in a worse funk~!

Alberta...I have one of THOSE ladies at my center...and I dreaded going when she was there...I think the manager said something to her, because she isn't as bad as she was, we also go 1-2 times a week so I don't see her as much now. Hopefully you won't get her too often!!

Well I went for WI today...and was down 3/4lb.....so I made my goal of 28lbs...over by 1/2...but now I still have 1.5 to go to be on track for this weeks WI, which for me is on Monday morning. I am very happy with my WI today.

BUT...I AM SO CLOSE TO THE 170's...I CAN TASTE IT...and IT TASTES BETTER THEN CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!

The gym is going GREAT but the manager from Herbal One doesn't want us doing any weights...only cardio, as she is worried we will gain weight. She wants us to wait until we are closer to goal...but the gym seems to think that we should be doing both, losing and toning...SO WHAT TO DO?????

Off to change the stats...my FAVORITE PART...LOL

Hey Alberta - just stick with it. I found weekend slips make you pay for awhile, but then boom, you're down two pounds. You can do it! Heck do it to spite that counsellor - ha ha!

Congrats everyone on the losses!

Alberta - I know where your coming from with the +lbs W/I - but I keep reminding myself it'll come back off so try to stay positive. I was lucky my lady at the center is so freaking awesome - she's totally realistic about gains and told me that if I was going up for a week then she'd worry but not to worry about my gain to much & try to focus just on the plan. So try not to worry about the cake-tasting It'll be off in no time - just focus on the plan

Momof5k - keep up the good work on your #'s!!!! I can't wait til One-derland!!! You are so close so go get it!!!!

Amgirl1 - I love that you are having a blast with your shopping trips You worked hard to fit those clothes now reap the rewards!!! And your B/F should be giving you his debit card to let his girl show off her new bod!!!

BL - great job on hitting your target! Just a teeny tiny smidge away from 170's!!!! WTG!

Question for all of you - how much exercise are you all doing? I am wondering how much I should be doing with this plan? Did you exercise right from starting the plan?

HAGN everyone - I have my W/I tomorrow morning so fingers crossed my body co-operates & I am - lbs this time!!!!!!! I want my star up on the wall!! hehe

Default Back!

Hi ladies!!

Hope you are all doing well... tried to read all of the posts from the last 2 months!!! GEEZZZ!! haha

Well, if you were wondering where I was... I was still around, just not here.
I decided to take a break from HM for a bit. I gained 3.6 pounds I believe in 9weeks. It was all good and mostly water probably.

So I'm back... lost 2 pounds last week and just a little number to be back where I was when I stopped.

So I'm back and it feels good

Thanks for all your kind words everyone! It's encouraging knowing that there is people I don't even know rooting for me!!! And you're right Laura...I'm going to do it in spite of that girl!

Betterlife- Absoloutely....the 170's definately will taste better that chocolate! Hmmm.... I wonder what the 160's taste like? As far as the losing and toning scenario, the guy at the gym is right. You need to tone as you lose so you don't end up with flab. The manager at your center doesn't want you to tone because as you build muscle, your weight loss might slow down...on paper. You'll still be losing, but since muscle weighs more than fat, it might appear that your weight loss is slowing down. I would start doing a little bit of toning...nothing crazy of course.

HMJunkie- I didn't start exercising until a month ago. I started walking 3 miles a day, doing water aerobics twice a week and going to the gym for an hr 4 times a week. When I started exercising I really started to see the pounds fly...it was encouraging. I haven't done any exercise in the last week...I really need to get back into it, but lately I have no energy. I chase my 18th month old around all day and work evenings. By the time I get home it's close to 2 in the morning, and the kidlet is up at 7!! I know I need to incorporate some sort of exercise, but for now I'd rather relax and play with her!

Welcome back Chantel! Great job. 3.6lbs in 9 weeks is awesome. Way to maintain!! That must be a great feeling knowing that you've learned and changed enough to not go back to your old habits. You know you can maintain! Once again...great job!

Hello everyone, just wanted to say hi, instead of just reading all the posts.
this is my second go around with HM, started back at the end of August. I never reached my goal the first time. It seemed my body wouldnt let me let go of the last 6 pounds so I went to stab from there. Only gained back 6lbs in the year I was off it.
Back on the bandwagon and looking forward to some support over the next few months. Hoping I can encourage and support others!

Chantal: SO nice to see you back! Yes, it seems like a lot of the chicks that were one when I first began have disappeared Not sure what is going on. It is great to see you back on the board though!

Alberta: Thanks for thinking of me!

YES!! I made it to Onederland!!! I stopped in at the centre Wednesday afternoon and weighed in at 198.6. Yahoo!!!! I cannot believe how great I feel and how many sizes of clothes I have dropped. It feels fantastic. Even the lady at the centre said she can't imagine what I'll look like fifty pounds lighter. What a great feeling!

To top it all off, I stepped onto my Wii Fit this morning and for the first time ever, I didn't hear "That's obese"! Yay! Don't me wrong, I still heard "That Overweight" but that is way better!

About the exercise question, I don't believe in the "don't exercise" business. The amount of muscle that we women will build is not going to bulk us up but rather tone us up and muscular bodies burn more fat, even at the resting state.

So the small amount of weight that will increase because of built muscle will be easily compensated for in the amount of calories that fitter body burns. KWIM?

Besides, I am not just doing this to "lose weight". I am going for a healthy lifestyle and exercise will need to be an important part of that for the rest of my life, Herbal Magic will not

Steppin' off my soap box now

Keep up the great work everyone! Here's to a weekend full of losses for us all!

momo5k- I laughed so hard at your wii fit comment I totally can't wait til mine does that. I have been noticing my flesh belt on my character is starting to go away... soon my shirt and pants might just fit me lol. The first few times I stepped on mywii fit it was so mean I almost threw it across the room lol, but now that I am losing weight the Wii fit and I are friends again...

I've started YOGA and I'm starting to play Volleyball next Tuesday...and the week after, it'll be Kickboxing twice per week! The pounds should be dropping like crazy... LOL But I'm doing this for me as well, I need to get moving...life is short

14.5 pounds to go for one-derland! haha
Should be there by end of October

Hey ladies, thought I'd check in. I keep up reading your posts, but never really have much to say except KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! I'm still at a stand still from the last time I was on... these last ten pounds are clinging on for dear life! Was contemplating increasing my goal to 150 instead of 160 but now not so sure lol.

Back to work after a glorious summer off... working between two schools so keeping me fairly busy. Still make time for exercise and try to go to the gym at least 3 times a week. Usually run on the treadmill for an hour (5 min run, 1 min walk) According to it, that's about 500-550 calories. I can only hope that eventually this will start to show up on the scale haha. Haven't done my arm and ab workouts for a bit (was doing them every other day - opposite gym days). Hopefully get back on that bandwagon soon.

Got a viral infection mid August that is still holding on and killing my energy level so went to a naturopath in our area and got placed on a regime for it that is a lot of herbs and a powdered mix that counts as one protein a day (but doesn't really fill me up...) Living on only one other protein throughout the day... doesn't seem to be quite enough! Fingers crossed that this weeks weigh in makes a difference. find that I am slowly starting to sabotage myself and my progress since I've been stuck here for what seems like forever...

Hope the weekend finds you all making good choices and beating down that number on the scale!

Yay Friday!
