Wow, you ladies are difficult to find! Hope you don't mind a new member. Just starting HM tomorrow. I have 55lbs to lose and can't wait to start. Nice to see so much success on this forum.

cgy girl 07-01-2009 10:00 AM

Anyone on line?

witchie 07-01-2009 12:50 PM

Welcome cgy girl!!

momof5k 07-01-2009 12:57 PM

Welcome!!

cgy girl 07-01-2009 08:02 PM

Well so much for starting the program today. I inadvertantly forgot to get my wm2000 pills so I will stop by the clinic tomorrow to get them.

Thanks for your welcome, I am super excited to be part of this forum and taking this journey with all of you.

This morning I did 30 minutes at the gym and then spend 5 hours cleaning the house and doing laundry (I was very behind). I have joined a running group at work and they run for 35 minutes over the lunch hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I also will be taking a weight class on Mondays and Wednesdys and will run in the mornings on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Saturdays I like to try to make it to the Talisman Centre to run for 45 min then swim for 30m. I really do love to exercise - I just wish my body looked like it.

Not sure what all of you struggle with but consistancy is my weakness. I get into a great routine for a few weeks then sabotage myself for a while and undo all the good I've done. I'm really hoping that this time will be different. I'm also an emotional eater, as I'm sure we all are.

Anyway, just wanted to tell you a bit about myself. Hope you all had a great day off today.

Look forward to starting the program tomorrow!

mememegogirl 07-01-2009 08:19 PM

Welcome Loma Boo and Cgy girl. I wish you all the best in this adventure! So far so good right?

I have a new side effect to my back treatment .... insatiable hunger! That is a hard one!!!! UGH! It feels like a downward spiral to me and it is hard to get out. The only thing I am doing right it seems is exercising. It is difficult to not be super discouraged. This is not the place I wanted to be in right now and it seems that I am encountering challenge after challenge to get in my way. I want to succeed. I feel good when I am on track. I look better and make really good strides towards my goal and then another problem arises. It would be nice to simply be able to focus on my weightloss and not have to worry about these little extra hurdles ... if I make it thru this I am going to be one tough broad! LOL....

cgy girl 07-01-2009 08:54 PM

Hi Meme,

What back treatments are you undergoing? I'm so sorry that you're discouraged. Hang in there, you're not alone. I know that it is so easy to give up and just eat.

cgy girl 07-01-2009 11:49 PM

Meme, what exercises are you doing? Just curious.

loma boo 07-02-2009 10:17 AM

Welcome cgy girl! I too am a newbie to the site! I think it is incredible the amount of exercise you are getting in! Great for you. I wish I had the same love... I have truly found being on this site helpful...its nice to have so many people cheering on your success and helping you overcome your challenges.

Meme, sorry to hear about what you are going through. Hang in there. If there is one thing that I am sure of, its that no matter what happens you CAN get back on the wagon and reach your goal.

I have been testing my recipes on my family and friends and I think I have encouraged a number of people to go salt-free. I will post recipes on the recipe thread.

I go for my WI today...sigh...I cheated on Canada Day. I hope the effects are not too bad. Keeping my fingers :crossed:

loma boo 07-02-2009 06:21 PM

Shucks...went in for my way in and gained over a pound!! Sigh, nose to the grindstone!

cgy girl 07-02-2009 07:35 PM

Thanks for the welcome boo! Sorry your weigh in didn't go as you wanted. Just have to dust yourself off and keep going!

I finally started the program today. I had one more starch than my daily allowance and I'm short two veg, but I haven't had a chance yet to plan my menus and shop accordingly.

I can't wait to start seeing the numbers go down. I was told during my visit to the clinic today that it is realistic for me to lose 10 lbs before I go on vacation last week of July. That is my first mini goal. I can't seem to EVER get below 200 lbs since I put the weight on but there's always hope!

I have to go to the clinic every day for the next two weeks then only 3 times a week. I'll let you know how I do.

When is your next weigh in Boo?

cgy girl 07-02-2009 07:57 PM

Does anyone know if you can take your wm2000 and Chrome even if you just finished your meal? Forgot to take mine before dinner. Took them anyway as soon as meal was over.

Thanks!

cgy girl 07-02-2009 11:31 PM

Wow, this forum is really slowing down since I joined! No fair! It took forever to read all the previous posts and now I feel like I know all of you but no one is posting anymore.

Maybe it's just the time of year...

momof5k 07-02-2009 11:34 PM

Yeah I think it must be summer finally hitting.

I was told that it is important to take the supplements before a meal so if I missed them to take them before a later snack so I still got them in.

Hopefully things will pick up on the forum soon!

cgy girl 07-03-2009 08:17 AM

Thanks Momo!

Well it's day two on the plan. Friday's are never easy to stick to a plan as my Fridays usually are about relaxing after a hard work week with a few drinks. I'm lucky that my hubby has agreed to 'go on the wagon' with me until vacation to help with my weight loss.

Wish me luck on my weigh in today! Not sure how I'll do as it's my TOM and typically that messes me up as much as 3-5 lbs.

Have a great Friday ladies!

Dria 07-03-2009 09:54 AM

Well Well Well where on earth have I been
Welcome to all the new members in our lil hide out here... not that its much of a hide out I spose anyone can come take a look see lol.
I have been super busy since kiddos are off school but apparently Mothering work isnt as strenuous as my work at the heavy duty shop lol.
SO just a tip instead of moving around a laundry basket or 10 (catch up anyone?) Move some semi truck drums around at approx 100lbs each lol Or some flywheels to get resurfaced..... those apparently burn more fat lol
So I have slowed down. Still at the 122 mark. Then again I did have the caramel dip that came with the apple from mcdonalds..... eeeee it was good.
SO today I went in for my W.I and was asked to be the feature client of the month. So I need a before and Now.. and my story. PLus I got some free product so they suggested the wm-4000 to give me a lil pushy.
This weekend well tonight.... we are off camping wont be home til late Sunday. Wish me luck that I can handle the temptation of a campfire cooked hotdog.... not sure Im strong enough but Im gonna try. Taking my bars....... veggies....... fruit etc........ sigh but a hot dog vs a chicken breast sigh.... dunno lol.
HOpe all is well. Have a good safe successful weekend ladies :)

lee2lee 07-03-2009 12:09 PM

Summer time...

Yes its that time of year.. kids are home.. which usually means my kids are in camps but this year the camps are not until later in the month which gives them time to be kids for a while which means sleeping in!!! And what does that mean for me??? Screwed up meal times and later weigh ins!!!! Breakfast isn't until 10 or 11 now instead of 7-9 am!!! Yikes.

Does anyone find it harder to stay on plan now that its summer... BBQ, family outings, vacation??? I treated myself to a kiddie cone on Canada day, and some kettle corn... and 2 drinks... Oh well I will tell you how I did at the end of my post!!!

Welcome everyone... hang in there, Dria you rock almost there... I can't wait to see how the stabilization and maintenance is for you!!!

Talk real soon

loma boo 07-03-2009 12:11 PM

I LOVE this site! One of my biggest challenges has always been NOT having a strong enough support system, as most of my family/friends are either at the right weight, not interested in changing their lifestyle or just keep putting off their weight loss. I find I am logging in during the day to see what is happening with everyone.

cgy girl, I am going for a WI today again, as the centre was closed on Canada Day. I have been sticking to it the last 24 hours, but we shall see. Not sure how much of a difference it will make. I was supposed to go in everyday as well, but can only manage 3 times a week because of my work hours. I still weight myself at the same time every morning, just to prepare myself for the day...and keep me on track. I had an issue with vegetables too. I found a temporary way around that. I try and eat a cup of salad at each meal (lunch and dinner), and try to cook a cup of vegetables with each meal (lunch and dinner). I find I am using more onions and celery in my cooking, and since I hate celery, I am happy to get it any way I can! The centre said this was fine, although there is something to be said for eating raw vegetables. I also find I enjoy grilled veggies. I cut up eggplant, zuchinni and peppers and make foil packets with them. I season with garlic and onion powders, a variety of herbs and Mrs. Dash and keep it in the oven for about 20 mins (depending on your taste). Goes down really nicely for me.

Dria, it must be exciting to be so close to your goal weight, and to be a feature client! Awesome! Considering all you have done to get to where you are, I am sure that this weekend away will be easy to overcome! You go, girl! You will have to share your before and after pics with us too!

2 dogs and a lady???

Since we are close to 500 posts do they not shut the thread down after 500??? 2 dogs and a lady was our go to gal to start new threads... I am not to sure how to do it though.

lee2lee

Dria 07-03-2009 12:44 PM

We still have around 80 posts to go before we have to shut this one down. No biggie to start a new one up when its time :)

sunnygal 07-03-2009 03:17 PM

Hello everyone and welcome newbies.

I've been away for the last week and had a few pages to read through. Seems like everyone is in summer mode and, of course, that can bring on many temptations. Spending the last week at the cottage with the kids and some guests really tested my willpower. For the most part, I did okay. I will admit that I was a "bad" girl at times, but I'm back on the wagon!

I had planned to weigh in a the centre that's close the cottage, but somehow never found the time. I weighed myself at home this morning and the scale shows that I'm down 1lb from a week ago, but TOM is due so it's possible that I'm actually down more. I'll wait until Monday to weigh in and see how that goes.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

loma boo 07-03-2009 04:34 PM

Yeah!!! Dropped 1.2 lbs from yesterday!!! Have a great weekend everyone!!

cgy girl 07-03-2009 06:10 PM

What a fantastic day!! First day of Calgary Stampede which means ten days of seeing men in boots and blue jeans, plus it's sunny, and it's Friday and I had a .5 loss from yesterday (I know it's just water right now, but I'll take it).

Dria, CONGRATULATIONS! That's awesome! I seen the pics you posted before and what a transformation! You totally inspired me.

Diet was spot-on today. After reading previous posts, it seems that I get more of a food allowance. I'm on QLP2 with an extra protein added.

4 Protein
2 Starch
1 Dairy
4 Veg
3 Fruit
2 Fat
1 FE

I'm on the extra protein because I lift weights three times a week and have 1-2 cardio sessions 5 or 6 times a week. Just starting this new routine so I may have to scale back a bit if I get too burnt out.

So happy to see all of you on the site today! Sounds like everyone is busy.

I also picked up the fat blockers and the sugar blockers that I seen you all chatting about before so I am all set for vacation.

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!

cgy girl 07-03-2009 06:13 PM

Boo, CONGRATULATIONS, that's fantastic!

witchie 07-04-2009 07:30 AM

Good morning ladies, hope you all are well. I weigh in this a.m so I will let you know a bit later.

cgy: Oh the stampede, you lucky, lucky girl......

witchie 07-04-2009 09:50 AM

I'm down 1 lb, which brings me to 125.5. Slowly (very), but surely....

cgy girl 07-04-2009 10:58 AM

Congratulations Witchie!!!!! I'm down one more pound today as well! Two more pounds and I am finally in onederland!

Witchie, do you exercise too? What's your trick?

witchie 07-04-2009 12:40 PM

Yes, cardio 3 x per week right now. I will begin weight training when I reach my goal, and you?

momof5k 07-04-2009 03:20 PM

Just got home from my wi today too and I am down 1.8 from Monday. Not bad considering the chinese take out we had on Thursday ;)

Good job everyone on their losses this week! With Canada Day BBQ's and the kids out of school, schedules seem difficult to stick to now but ....let's keep going!

cgy girl 07-04-2009 06:09 PM

Witchie, I took a month leave from working out but I start again on monday. Weight training 3x per week. I want to run or bike ride at least 4 mornings per week (up at 5am anyway) and I joined a running group for two lunchhours per week. three days a week I'll fit another 30-60 min cardio in after work.

Today started with TOM hitting so there was a lot of pain and crying this morning. I went for a weigh in anyway and am down 1.5 from yesterday so was happy about that. Then went shopping for workout clothes and nothing makes you feel fatter than trying on clothes so now I'm feeling bloated and gross. lol...had to come home b/c I'm also very cranky today and the general public should be shielded from me.

momo...great job on your loss. Don't know about you ladies, but every pound feels like such a victory.

Back to the whole changing room blues, I realized today that I have a problem that I think is quite opposite from what most ladies experience with weight loss. I spent most of my adult life in great shape with a toned and slim body and have only put the weight on in the last five years. I still feel like a skinnier girl and when I look in the mirror I'm shocked and horrified at the reality. Sigh. So depressing.

Anyhow, sorry to be a downer today...it's the hormones talking. I'll cry and whine for one more day and then I'll be back to my old self.

To end on a happy note, I can't wait to start using my new work out clothes!

better life 07-04-2009 09:21 PM

Hello everyone...been like a week since I have been here. Hope all is well with everyone....still at it here.

Not coming off as quickly as I had thought it would....but still 5.75lbs is better then nothing and I guess I am on plan if it is 2lbs per week...I know slow and steady is the best way to go...but sometimes it does get disappointing. This week I drop down to going the 3 days/week. So I think that will be better.

I get my measurements done this Friday as well....we chose to measure every 2-3 weeks. Looking forward to it.

I took pictures when I started, I am going to update them next week after I get my measurements done and see if there is a difference.

I also have siggy rights now...YEAH!!!!!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!!!!

Hi Better,

You sound a little discouraged...hang in there!

I agree! Slow and steady. Before you know a few months have past and the losses will have added up and you won't believe it!!

cgy girl 07-05-2009 12:59 AM

Hey I just realized that this is the first weekend I can remember where I haven't had a drink. Also the first TOM I haven't had a drink to help with the pain. Don't get me wrong, I don't actually miss it, I just never realized what a habit having weekend drinks had become. Does anyone find it difficult to stay away from drinking on this plan?

better life 07-05-2009 08:55 AM

Nope not discouraged, sorry if I sounded that way. I was though at the beginning of the week...then when I looked at the BIG picture, and the fact that my goal weight should be reached by February 22/10....I know I can do this.

I guess that in the beginning some expect to lose a significant amount of weight, and I am in that category of people...but I know it didn't go on that fast, it has been over the course of 20years+...so it won't come off in 2 weeks.

You guys are great though, and I hope to get here more often, in the beginning I was off work and able to get here more, now that I am back to work it is not so easy. I am going to try to get here atleast every other day. I was even keeping a blog and facebook page, but I haven't even been there in a week and a half....life just gets in the way sometimes. Maybe I will do the updates on FB once a week.

cgy girl 07-05-2009 10:51 AM

We're cheering you on!

cgy girl 07-05-2009 10:56 PM

I hope everyone had a great weekend! WI is tomorrow and I am hoping so much that I'll be in the 100's. Not sure though b/c even though diet was really good, it wasn't perfect (couple deeeelicious bites of dh's pizza, too much dressing on salad etc.) and my water isn't what it should have been. I'll try a couple glasses of warm lemon water before bed and hope that works.

I also get to start running again tomorrow. Not sure if I mentioned it but I had just started to get into running when I developed shin splints and had to take some time off. Right after that I hurt my ankle and had to take more time off. So happy to get back into it!

Also have my weight class tomorrow at Golds gym. I'm totally pumped to start my workout routine!!

Good luck with Monday tomorrow ladies!

Chantal0123 07-06-2009 08:54 AM

Hello Ladies!!

I've been away for well over a week... Vacation is over...snif...but I have to say - I needed my routine back!

WI tonight (didn't go during my vacation since we weren't around)...I'm thinking it'll be around 1.6-2 pounds. No stress. I was on vacation and that's how it was. No escuses. Just being real :)

Back on track this morning!!!

Wishing you all a great week !! :D

cgy girl 07-06-2009 09:11 AM

Hi Chantal, I would consider that a success! I usually average 5-10lbs gain on vacation so if I walk away from this year's with only 2 gain, I would be ecstatic! It's the two weeks in the year where I don't have to take care of anyone and it's also a vacation from being so hard on myself. Granted, I do still exercise on vacation but only because I LOVE going for a run around the lake first thing in the morning.

Had my first run since injury this morning and it was FANTASTIC!

Happy Monday everyone!
