Even better work then Witchie!!

Welcome, and thanks for the tips Dria! One of these days I will be able to stand tea... haha Didn't know the little tidbit about 1000mg of sodium, yikes! Sometimes I find myself having the odd Lean Cuisine to prevent myself from falling way off the wagon (the lesser of two evils I guess). Maybe I need to find another way to cope lol

Is that a new ticker for the renewed effort Meme??!! Very nice!

Chantal0123 05-13-2009 08:27 AM

Welcome Dria!! So many new people - I can't keep up! haha
Thanks for the tips!

Well my Tuesday went well. Although I was working from home, I was able to eat reasonably and eat what I was allowed ONLY... lol

WI tonight...hopefully I'll lose the 1.8 I gained on Monday!
I know I didn't gain 1.8... we were so busy this weekend - no time for bowel movement LOL But it started working again on Tuesday.... THANK GOD!

We'll see what the scale says tonight! Measurement night too!!

I'm at a point where I don't really stress it out on a WI night... I'm really enjoying the fact that I feel better, eat better and I'm in control of my life.
It feels great.

Wishing you all a Great Wednesday!!! Happy Hump Day!! :carrot:

Michele: Somehow, when they did site maintenance they ate my ticker yesterday. So... I made a new one... and yes... it is symbolic ... :)

Dria: Great tips! I didn't know that about lemon water or sipping green tea with meals. Very interesting stuff! Thanks so much! What does a typical day of meals look like for you?

Anyone else feel like posting recent meals?

Chantal: I don't know if this might work for you... but when I am having digestive issues I roast a couple of peppers and work them into my days allotment for veggies. It cleans out my system everytime! Unfortunately,... this might just be an allergy ... (hope not... I like roasted peppers..)
Way to go on following your plan so well at home. Good job!

Dria 05-13-2009 09:49 AM

Well, I was never a big breakfast person. My biggest meal was always supper. Which I have come to learn is DUMB lol Im way less active in the evening so even if I save a good portion of my food for supper its not helping me any as I am not as likely to burn alot of being a lazy bum at night and all

Im always in a rush. GO GO GO who isnt.... So morning usually consists of me grabbing 3/4 a cup of special K and a fruit.
THen for lunch I like to use my premade frozen spaghetti lunches all pre measured and ready to go. I often dont use the 1/2 cup of sauce thats just way too much so often only use .5 of my free exchange in a day.
Then supper I stick with a protine veggies and sometimes my dairy.
Im trying my hardest to reverse my ways mainly. Eat big in the morning eat a smaller supper.

So typical day

SPecial K and a fruit of breaky

black coffee.... yummmmmy lol

Lunch
1/2 cup pasta. 4 oz of meatballs and 1tbsp healthy choice scetti sauce.
1 oz cheese
a veggie..... cup of cukes..... 1/2 cup carrots one of those two usually.

SUpper..... be it a chicken breast and and salad I usually make these into chicken ceasar salads.
I have no problem eating the same food over and over. These are a few of my faves so I can eat them all the time..

How I make it easy for on the go?

Sundays I go buy my fresh produce and meats.
I spend my time as putting groceries away measuring and bagging them right then and there. So when I want cukes they are in a bag at my disposal.
Chicken I cook then freeze in already measured amounts as well.
Left overs become my tv dinners so I dont have to do the lean cuisine etc. I know whats in these meals and they are ready to go.

On top of that I go walking about every second day for about a mile with my ipod.
Im very boring but its working lol and of course you already know about my fluid tricks lol

witchie 05-13-2009 10:02 AM

Dria: Welcome! I am definitely with you on the tea train. I drink usually 2 XLarge tea per day. It keeps me feeling full. I also have a no cheat policy!! I intend to succeed at this, and you can't do that if you are constantly cheating and making excuses for it, that's what got me here in the first place. I'm going to try your make ahead spaghetti idea. Havent had spaghetti in almost 2 months, and that was my absolute fav meal. I also do not eat any of those lean cuisine's, WAY to high in sodium! I prefer to spend some time and pre cook & pack meals. Haven't done spaghetti yet though......MMM.

Michele: There are some REALLY yummy teas out there, one of my favs is Cocoa Spice by "yogi" brand. Use a little sweetener and they are awesome. I've had some other really good ones, but I cant remember the names. One was a Vanilla something or other, it was really good and made awesome iced tea aswell. Cheers!

Dria 05-13-2009 10:25 AM

Its so easy... I make small meatballs so it works out that I get 10 of the lil suckers lol mind games.... theres lots so I must be eating lots ;)
half a cup of the pasta toss in a bit of sauce shove in freezer. if your gonna eat in the next week those lil 100 cal baggies do or the small snack sized baggies from walmart is what I use.... but I got tired of throwing so many out so I went and got some cheap glad ware stuff and now I freeze them in that I usually do up 5 or 6 out of the leftovers..... :) Happy scetti(ing) its my fave lol keeps me full the longest.
Also on the tea thing. I love having the peppermint tea in the evening around 8-9pm. Keeps my hands and mouth busy and fills me up.

I often dont even use my free exchange at all even if its fully available. My free exchange if used is usually for Scetti sauce or salad dressing.

Once a week or so Ill let myself have a skinny cow fudgsicle :)

Michelle. I find tea is something I had to get used to. I always like the flavor kind.... strawberry berries etc. Green tea took me a bit to get used to... But I also dont like using sugar substitutes just a personal taste issue lol. SO after about 4 cups of plain green tea I adjusted and like it alot now :) My friend gets the mango etc flavored green tea.

Chantal0123 05-13-2009 11:15 AM

So Dria... you eat the same things OVER & OVER again??
Wow kudos to you cause I would definately get bored and sooo tired of eating the same things.

I'm at the other end...in 6 weeks, we never ate the same recipes more than twice... lol

Wow...I still can't imagine eating the same thing over & over again... hahahahha

Dria 05-13-2009 11:29 AM

Like said with being so busy..... Its just easier for me... Im a very very picky eater.... so sticking with the same foods has always been the normal for me.
My family doesnt all always get the same thing always making different things for them cause I know I have my prepackaged needs met if I need them.
Im a creature of habit what can I say lol

mememegogirl 05-13-2009 11:34 AM

Dria: Have you had any plateau's along the way? What you do seems to be working for you. I know one of the girls who works at my centre eats the same thing everyday. You and Witchie are kind of close in weightloss and strategies. It is helpful to hear others who are being successful and are creeping closer and closer to their goals. It gives hope.

mememegogirl 05-13-2009 11:37 AM

Where are our other newbies? Trabay, HappyGirl, Mrs. Ripley? How about UFF? Hope she is feeling ok... and Bride2b is having some life stressors too. Sending positive thoughts your way girls!

Chantal0123 05-13-2009 11:37 AM

As you said... you're a person who likes a routine...so it's perfect for you then!! :)

I can't wait to be at 40 pounds... I'm almost at 20... Feels so close!
My mini-goal is 35 pounds by mid-July.

I have 8 weeks to lose 15 pounds, not counting this week. Hopefully by Monday I'll be a bit higher than 20...oh no, Monday they'll be close I guess! Ok so Tuesday! If I could be at like 19 tonight, I could easily lose another pound by next Tuesday. And then I have 8 weeks to lose 15 pounds!

I imagine the numbers dropping in my mind and it's SO exciting... I mean... I'm already at 20 pounds... next month, I might be at 30... and then 40... and then... BEAUTIFUL! lol

Chantal0123 05-13-2009 11:41 AM

And I just counted how many weeks you've been on the program...so 14 weeks and you lost almost 40 pounds... so lets put 15 weeks cause you're half way there... Average of 2.7 pounds per week.

In 6 weeks, I lost a total 19.8 pounds - average of 3.3 pounds per week.
I have 15 weeks to my goal... I could TOO lose 40 pounds!

Sorry...I have an analytical soul... I analyze everything with numbers!! hahaha

Thanks for motivating me!! :carrot:

Dria 05-13-2009 12:03 PM

LOL Ladies you are too cute!!! All of you! We can ALL DO IT!!!!
I have not had a plateau.
Not one.... I have had a couple weeks where I was say only 1.2 loss.. then 4 or so of 3+ lbs loss in a week.
I also have to let you know that up until a month ago.. I was also on tapazole for graves disease.... which helps keep weight on.... so with that bit of info you should all be able to do what you want no problem its just a matter of control. Have I cheated.... YES I wont lie and say I havent the ladies laugh at me at my center cause Im so honest when I do.... They laugh cause Im very strict with myself.
But when I do cheat its a small one. I dont need a whole piece of pie or cake etc........
A very very small sliver will be more then enough to show on the scale LOL
Lets do it ladies. Crunch those numbers if thats what you like.... theres nothing more fun then subtracting the lbs :)

MicheleR 05-13-2009 12:34 PM

Wow! Lots of info on here! I am in the same boat as witchie and Dria... busy schedule = routine eating for me. I enjoy cooking a package of chicken and knowing it will last me at least 2 days and that I can have a night off of cooking. This is especially great as I am only cooking for myself.

Also a huge fan of spaghetti but haven't had it since I started HM. Maybe I should do that. Finally getting to a point where I don't feeling like I'm relying on my FE as my sweet treat as much (don't get me wrong... sometimes chocolate is the only thing that soothes the snack attacks!)

Think my weight loss works out to about 2.4 lbs/week. A little lower than a lot of others, but still okay for me. I know where my faults lie and am ok with the choices I have made. Also, only visit once a week so a little less support than some others.. but no time to get in more often either!

Didn't make it to the gym last night... visited with a friend for a few hours instead. Not too guilty though cause of the 3hrs yardwork Mon. plus going to the gym and doing yardwork tonight. It should all even out. I'm interested to see what my loss is on Sat. since I haven't had any beverages this week. See how much of a difference it makes. Hoping for 3-4 lbs but I guess we'll see on Sat!

French class presentations again today... hashbrown casserole. ugh. Guess I'll ditch the wrap for my egg salad and a bit of my yogurt tonight to compensate. Hopefully that works out... tomorrow will be a better day!!

Almost halfway there (40% to be exact).. gotta step it up and not allow for anymore little slips that can bring me down!

Hope you are all having a good day!

HappyGirl 05-13-2009 01:02 PM

Thanks for the tips!

Good morning from snowy Regina! My 3rd day on HM and down 1.6lbs. I'm hoping this is a good start. Just learning the plan and reading all of your posts are a great help. And just reading them provides extra motivation throughout the day. A great thing to do instead of grabbing snacks that I don't really need. LOL

One question...how do you attach a ticker to your profile/posts? I've gone to dietticker.com and created one...just need to know where to attach it on my profile. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I plan on seeing this HM journey right to my goal of 125lbs so I'm thinking a ticker would be a fun thing to chart my successes on.

Do you have a favorite recipe that you'd recommend from any of the HM cookbooks? I tried the Italian Chicken last night and my family loved it!:)
