~ I still hate taxes.

Is that 2 mortgages on 1 property? I was told by our acct. that with 2 props can only get tax credit on 1 of the mortgages. arg. this guy is regularly making errors that cost us tax interest. heathre do you do ny/nj?? :D

Well, that is totally different. You only can get the deduction on your primary residence, but it applies to any loans secured by the home. A second property is not primary residence, so no deduction.

I am so tired today. OMG. I am way down on cals because I have been too tired to get off the couch to snack. How sad is THAT?

I still enjoy the journey-fitness.com podcast. She put out a new one this week. And after all of her talk about how important exercise is, after only three hours of sleep, there was just no earthly way.

I am just popping in to celebrate a small success. It's a tough night for me and I wanted nothing more than to pop myself into a food coma and go to bed. I have almost alternately picked up the phone to order food and driven out to various fast food places to go to the drive-thru (where I would inevitably order food enough for a small army).

However, that is not how I want to live my life, nor is it how I want to deal with my emotions anymore. It makes me feel even more terrible to do such things. So instead, I fixed myself a quick sandwich. It's not gourmet, but it satisfies the hunger, and now I will go find something productive into which I can channel my emotions. I think the kitchen needs a good cleaning.

Oh Jaime, SOOOOOOO proud of you. I know it's really tough for you right now but you did not give in to temptation. Totally wonderful!!

I don't do anyone's taxes other then my mother's and my own - Sorry Lucy! I like auditing, taxes bore me to the point of tears. However I have to know about them.

Okay here's the more detailed deal on your itemized deduction for home mortgage interest.

1. If your total AGI (adjusted gross income) is higher then $159,950 (2008 MFJ) then certain itemized deductions will be limited including mortage interest.

2. Yes it can (in general) be on two or more loans and on your primary and secondary homes. The secondary home must be for biz, investment, or other deductible reasons. Anna- this changed in recent years, you can deduct on two homes.

3. Lucy - get a new accountant!

4. There are small exceptions here and there and since I don't know specifics he may have a legit reason for not deducting both but I'd take a look at publication 936 and talk to your accountant.

Jaime!! That's freaking awesome. I for one would be two bottles deep into wine and about half a pack of cigs. I'm so proud of you!! :carrot:

suitejudyblueeyes 01-20-2009 09:18 PM

I said nothing about cigarettes :p

I have not touched the wine tonight either, but the dog downstairs is howling up a storm and I just may need some help getting to sleep if it keeps up. Ugh.

GirlyGirlSebas 01-20-2009 09:30 PM

Jaime, I think you are handling the stress well. You are strong and life will be beautiful again for you soon.

It is a HUGE success. I hope you are well tonight. Smoke 'em if ya got 'em.

This is where my day could fall apart. I know that today's lowered calories are in the long run, going to offset the foodfest that was Saturday. It's all about the average. But part of me is thinking, "Hey, I still have calories left...."

I am going to knit instead, but I can HEAR cheese and crackers calling that would still get me to my 1100 target.

I am very proud of you Jaime.

I don't smoke but for some reason that is always my first instinct when I am upset. On the occasion that I have it takes me two weeks to clear my lungs back out and get the taste out of my mouth.

I figured out part of my food problem. I need to go back to basics. Plain fruit, veggies, and whole grains. I've been sneaking in processed crap and it is messing with my head. I'm going to be up peeing all night long because I am trying super hard to flush the sodium out of my system.

Drink your water ladies.

GirlyGirlSebas 01-21-2009 07:29 AM

Anna, did you resist the cheese and crackers? Inquiring minds want to know.
Billie - glad you found a possible solution. Hope you start seeing great results.

No woosh on the scales yet. They are still stuck in one spot. I will get on the treadmill today. I'm old. My body must have tons of exercise to lose weight.

Hopefulpinkangel 01-21-2009 08:10 AM

Jaime!! I'm so proud of you!! You ROCK!!!
