Lindy- We dont even have a mall here. The largest store in town is Kmart, I used to work there, so I guess I could go walk there. I wish I dodnt like potatoes, that would make it so much easier. I can live without bread, when we buy I end up freezing most of cos we dont eat it fast enough.
Hopefully we can walk at the high school and swim at a local motel. I'll just keep doing my exercise dvd's. |
Well ladies, I don't know how I managed it, but I was able to eat 1100 calories today, and not be extra hungry!
I came up with my own dish, a chicken wrap. I found these great multigrain tortillas, and I added shredded chicked (that I roasted the night before), lettuce, tomato, salsa, and avocado. It was actually really good. The salsa made the dish. That's all I had for a meal and it kept me full. I found that by making slight changes in my diet, I was able to lose 2 pounds in 4 days, which may be water weight...but I'll take it! |
Hi, I would like to find a buddy to help motivate me and help guide through this challenge of weight loss. I am new to this site so I am not sure the best way to find a buddy. I would like support as well as to support others.

looking for weightloss buddy
Hello,
I am new to this site and looking for some advise, with weightloss, and this site. I am looking for great results. Not fast, I want to keep off waht I loose, but I do better with support from others knowing that I have support even alone will make it easier overall. I am also wanting to help support others, as I know this can be a struggle at least for me it has been. |
Hi Kity! Welcome. We have a great group of girls in here, if you have time, view some of our previous posts, they have helped me to stay on track and gave me great ideas.
maddiesmom- that sounds delicious! I'm going to try it tonight; I have all those ingredients in my fridge. Thanks for sharing. Tcs- love the pic! I'm assuming that you are in Ohio now? Too bad because we actually got a little cold in Florida today, I think its a high of 70, I even put on a jacket. Lol, if only my family in Connecticut could hear me now (70 is Spring weather to them). My daughter is sick today and I had to run to the store to get her medicine, which made me late for work. I almost stopped at McDonalds for my breakfast but opted to take an extra couple minutes and get myself a bowl of oatmeal to eat on the way into work. Whew...that was a close one. That might be the hardest part, planning meals. Sometimes its just easier and quicker to go through a drive thru, but if I keep my prepacked snacks and meals in my fridge I think I can overcome this small bump in the road. |
STRESS - I hate it. I started out rough today, I knew I was going to be off and boy am I. So, lunch rolls around and I'm still stressed, I WANT Taco Bell sssssssooooooo bad. Instead, I go home for lunch and have healthy soup with a side a veggies but then I want something sweet and not fat free pudding. I eat two mini chocolate goodbars....mmmmmm, boy were they good but now I'm STILL hungry. I'm very aggravated and hungry today. Any words of encouragement? My day is not horrible, its just not great and I cannot get over it for nothing today. HELP! Lol, no seriously - how does everyone else deal with these kinda days.

Lucky Lindy-
Thanks for the reply. I actually feel extremly bad today I actually did go through drive thru today for breakfast!! I wish I had more will power. It is so much easier for me to just whip through the drive thru and order when I am hungry NOW. Better luck to me next time, I hope. I did skim through a few of the posts there are soo many! That's great though. I am in need of moral support. I was going to La weight loss, then I fell off the wagon tried to attempt to go back as I still had paid weeks now they are out of busineess. I feel like I am at a dead end. I know what I need to do but it's hard, and when I think of the over all out come I want I just give up to easily. As I feel it will never happen. I tried getting in this forum on this site to do the 5 pound challenge I thought that would work just a little incentive to try and loose 5 pounds, kind of like who can be the first. Well, I can't seem to navigate to that forum so I guess that won't work and I thought overall that if I could see the scale going down 5 pounds that would be incentive to keep going and maybe just keep doind 5 pound incrments. I have never tried but heard it works for most. I am new to this site and have several questions. If anyone has any advice I am up for it!? :0) I think the tickr thingys are cute, and a great idea to actaully see the progress keep it up everyone. Great job. |

I know how you feel on a day like today. It is sooo easy to just stop at a fast food place. I have found that if I start my day with a homemade protein shake, I stay full longer. 8oz skim milk, 2scoops whey powder, and 3 or 4 large frozen strawberries in blender. You can also add sweetner and flavoring if you like. Just play with it until you find what you like, but the protein powder is what helps fill me up and gives me energy. |
Lucky, no, I'm not in Ohio yet - not until the very end of January. That is a picture from when I went to NYC in December. I was going through ALL of my pictures last night putting them in separate folders and what not and I thought that one was good. Plus, I figured out how to compress pictures so that they are the right size for Avatars...lol. It took me a while.
I wish I could give you some inspirational advice that would completely convince you not to eat more than you should today, but I am feeling that way today too. I'm actually not physically hungry but I WANT to eat some stuff that is really bad for me. I am pretty sure it stems from what the scale told me this morning...I am bloated and didn't go work off my dinner last night so I am up like 4 lbs in one day. I wasn't gonna weigh because I was that bloated that I knew if I weighed it would be bad. So I am justifying wanting to eat everything by saying that I can eat like 2500 cals today just to confuse my metabolism and then go back to 1200 tomorrow. I also ran out of fruit today so I don't have my low-cal standbys. I am just planning to count down the minutes until the day is over, and work out like 2 hours tonight. I don't have any temptation here at work so I think I will be ok. Just don't leave your office until the day is over if there is temptation outside of your office!!! LOL. Plus, if you haven't looked at all of the goal pictures on 3FC yet, those probably would keep you on the straight and narrow knowing that you are on the path to your goal. KityCat Sorry I don't have more time to write, but a quick suggestion is to just try to elminate one bad thing from your lifestyle this week. If you have an ice cream addiction like I did, cut back almost completely to a reasonable portion. If you drink tons of soda or diet soda, stop. Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. Just do one thing that is bothering you the most and fix it. Next week, do the same, and soon you will be on a path to success! P.S. I tried LA Weight Loss. It didn't work well for me at the time (like 4 years ago), but I'm sorry they shut down on you!!! |
Hi Kity-
Trust me, I know where your coming from, as do many others in this forum. I'm feeling less than motivational today but I can tell you that if you weigh in once a week and post your weight, that's a great way to hold yourself accountable (just a thought). Most are not on "diets" or special programs, we're just trying to alter our eating habits and increase our exercise routines. I know its the pot calling the kettle black, espcially with me craving Taco Bell right now, but if you get ziplock baggies and prepackage your veggies, fruits, nuts into individual servings - that helps. Also, after what happened this morning I plan on going to the grocery store tonight and buying boca breakfast burriots, they taste really good with a little salsa and can heat up just as quick as a trip through the drive thru. Anyway, stay focused and keep your eye on the prize. :) I know, I'm corny, you'll get a lot of that from me. Take care and good luck. P.s.- I'm chewing gum and that seems to have helped my cravings, someone told me to try it and seems to work. They said thay they think I enjoy the act of eating, more so than the food. I don't know about that entirely but hey, it worked this time. |

You are to hard on yourself. I am sending you a BIG HUG That part of your day is over. Now back to work. LOL LOL |
When I'm absolutely starving and want something sweet, I have a fuji apple and some reduced fat chunky peanut butter. That's what I've been having for breakfast the past few days and it holds me over until lunch (most of the time!)
I know those days too. I REALLY wanted a mocha frappucino from Starbucks today (passed by 2 on my way to daycare) and I had a gift certificate. But I said to myself, it's not worth it...too many calories. So I didn't stop. You all have really helped me the past few days! Hope everyone is doing well! |
Thanks Lucky and Tc for the support. I will try my best to do better. I need to. I am not much of a sweets person I love salty foods. I love chips so I don't buy them. I tried switching to sunflower seeds, I know this isn't much better it at least takes more work to gt to the seed than to plow through a bag of chips. So at least I am eating less salt overall. I love pop I am in process of switching to diet coke. (In Process) not quite all the way there. And my biggest problem is getting the water and exercise in. I currently work full time days and work part time evenings so I am not getting alot of sleep and that is more important to me than exercise. I also have a 3 and 6 year old that I need to take care of my husband is very supportive and he is going to school Tuesdays and Thursdays. So I live a busy lifestyle, and this is why the drive thru is just soo easy. I wish it wasn't. I do not plan meals ahead as I just don't make time. I agree with Tc on cutting one bad habit out and moving on and so on. I think I will try to only drink diet coke if I want pop and to drink more water in a day. That would be a good move forward. I tend to ramble sorry about that. I really think that this is going to help me. Thanks so much ;0)
Lucky- That's a great idea to think ahead and get those buritos since you are craving taco bell. Salsa always makes things taste better too. :) |
Grum- thank you for the hug, it was much needed. :)
Maddiesmom, I'm glad that I can relate with someone. I think my monthly friend is about to visit, which is why I may be feeling this (I know, too much information, but its my excuse). Thanks for everyones support, I really needed it. If my friend is still here on Sunday, I may wait to weigh in, that way I don't get frustrated. |
Hey Lindy, I definitely know what its like. I had that day yesterday. I felt like I was starving all day. I tried to keep my mind off of it. When my husband got home, we went to the movie theater. I walked by the concession stand:drool:.. making it worse.. but I didn't get anything. I just annoyed the crap out of my husband the entire movie by saying that I wanted something so bad. He's on a diet too. He has really helped to keep me motivated. Then, he said...go get something. Then, I felt guilty, so I just waited until we got home and ate some fruit.
It is starting to get so hard to keep to the diet, especially when I haven't seen a big weight loss in a while. I keep saying that I'm going to go to the gym, but then I don't. I have been walking my dogs more. But I need to get my heart rate up too. ahhh. these diets!!!! Everytime I want to eat something bad, I ask myself. Would you rather eat that or.. be thinner? Well, being thinner usually wins. We gotta stick in their girls! We'll get there! :dust: When I get down, I like to listen to music to boost me up. I love the song on the show Ruby. It's called "I can" by Johanna Stahley. TC-We got some snow yesterday. It is freezing! I know what its like to want to be some place cold during the winter. I lived in arizona this time last year. Then, I came back to cincinnati because I missed the winter and the holidays didn't feel the same either. Maddiesmom- My favorite is the carmel macchiato.... oh I love it! I use to get one practically everyday. It is soo hard to give up. But it's for our own good=) Kitycat- :welcome3: Don't give up! We're here for you! I want to give up everyday! But, then I come on here and it makes me feel better. I have a hard time letting people down. This is a great place to hold yourself accountable. Just stick with it. Just think... where will you be in two months if you don't stay on the diet? Two months are still going to go by no matter what. You know? |
