Hey Neesy! Yay for you, you took those 3 pounds off fast! Kudos!
The next couple of days is going to be a challenge for me. I offered to bring my Grandma to Bingo tonight and since there is nothing to do, I always pig out there. So tonight my plan is to bring 2 turkey burgers and some mushrooms with me and a chocolate fiber one bar just in case I have a sweet tooth, let's hope that works. Now tomorrow, I am only working half a day and am crazy busy once I leave. Then at night I am going out with my girlfriends for my B-day and I know I'm going to drink (we're going to a martini bar). THEN, on Saturday we have a wedding and Sunday a football party. Fingers crossed I can get through all this. H) I'm feeling very confident with my weigh in, so here's to success! Ill have to keep you guys posted and let you know how things go. Talk to ya later! |
Hey Just checking in.......weighed in this morning and I am down 1 more pound. Shortly after starting this forum I had gained one pound, but now I am able to change the number under my name! For the better too!! Since I have really lost 1 pound!! :carrot:
Lindy, Thanks so much for the pointers. I appreciate it. anything I get I am trying....I am going shopping tomorrow and looking forward to getting some of the items you mentioned for snacks. I don't think I will be able to find some of them. I have never heard of Publix. So I will just try to find something similar. I am definatley going to do the rotisseri chicken as I love chicken but never have the time to cook after work. Take a deep breath, The relaxing tip sounds relaxing just thinking about it. I will definately give it a whirl, won't have time till the weekend though. :) Looking forward to trying out your recipes!! Maddiesmom, Hope you are feeling better. I recenlty just got over the flu and it's not fun at all. How are you possibly able to get 3 meals in and a snack with only 900 calories and be full?? I wish I could do that. I am very motivated off my one pound!! :) Nessy, Congrats on those 3 pounds!!:carrot: I feel excited about my one pound! |
Lindy, Forgot to mention......
:bday2you: |
Kity - awwww...thanks for the bday message. You should feel excited about the 1 pound, 1 pound, plus 1 pound, plus 1 pound, etc....etc....etc.... equals major weight loss! You'll get there. My weight definately motivated me to get through my weekend. Aside from {riday night, I feel good about not going off my diet. Its so funny how often I'm checking this website, especially our forum, I swear I'm addicted. I have the luxury of checking the website from my phone, so anytime I have downtime, I log on.
Anyway, I hope everyone is feeling good and having a great day. |
Kity - I'm determined not to quit this time! As long as I keep seeing a downward slope in my weight loss, I need to keep going. Even if it's not as good as I would hope, it's better than nothing, and better than gaining and hating myself for it.
Lindy - happy birthday! and thanks for the support. It's going to be a rough night. I don't have the time to make anything for dinner, and the food at the conferences will be so readily available. I will have to make smart choices, like you said. My plan was to make dinner last night and save something for tonight to bring with me, but I ended up working late and having some multigrain cheerios (with fresh blueberries! Yum!) for dinner. so - no leftovers. darn it. And I didn't have time to grab anything for lunch so I'm nursing my nonfat starbucks latte trying to get that to fill me up so I don't pig out later...I feel like I'm doomed for today... I haven't had time to weigh in the last couple of days, so I'm not sure how I'm doing right now. I use the wii fit balance board as my scale and by the time I finish the 30 Day Shred in the morning, I'm running late and don't have the time to wait for it to turn on. A poor excuse I know....but it's probably better that I don't weigh myself every day anyway....right? |
Also - was not thinking this morning and after doing the 30 day shred, I got dressed and put on heels and my quads and calves are killing me...guess heels after an intense leg workout was not the best idea....sorry - I'm grumpy today.

LuckyLindy: Just to make you feel better about drinking tomorrow night, I drank two days two weeks ago (New Years Eve and the Friday after it) and I'm not talking light beers or diet coke and rum. I had Malibu and Pineapple, white wine, and a couple Long Island Ice Teas, and I didn't weigh for a few days after (well maybe one peek) because I was afraid of the number. Well, shortly after that, the weight just FELL off, like 5 lbs worth. Personally, I eat more when I drink, and I think a spike in calories every once in a while (I've read somewhere every 18 days) is actually good for your metabolism. As long as you don't go over your calories that you would need to maintain your weight (BMR plus any physical activity) then you won't gain and it may jumpstart your metabolism if it has been slowing down. You may see a sprike for a couple days because of retaining water or it physically still being in your system, but in the long run it should be good for you. Plus it's your birthday, so you shouldn't feel like you are depriving yourself, just keep it within reason and make smarter choices than you used to. Just my two cents. P.S. Happy Birthday!!! How old are you? - I would probably know that if I took the time to go back through our 13 pages of posts, but I don't feel like all that work :)
I really feel like I know everything there is to know about dieting since I have researched it so many times, and went on so many different diets, I really should have been better at losing weight than I was, lol. I guess now is my time though. Maybe I needed to go through all of those failures to truly appreciate it and keep it off when I do finally succeed this time. Bexx I have the 30 day shred by Jillian as well! I did it twice before I started going to the gym 4-5 times a week, and now, I just can't manage to fit the gym in AND the 30 day shred. But, OMG, that workout is hard!!! Are you still on the first level or have you progressed? I couldn't make it through the first time I did it. The second time though, I did the whole thing with only slight cheating. lol. I know I was crazy sore after doing it. I kinda wish I was able to do it too, because I just love being sore after working out. I'm not a masochist (I think that's the word-love pain) or anything, but you jsut get a weird sense of accomplishment from muscle soreness because you know you are truly making your body better. I don't get sore at ALL from the elliptical or any of the cardio I do. Just some slight leg weakness when I am done. I think you may have motivated me to try and work that into my routine somehow. P.S. In your avatar picture of just your face, you don't look overweight at all! Neesy! holy crap that was quick! (taking off your vacation 3 lbs) I really hope I don't gain on my vacation. We are staying at my DF's parents house, where his Mom has already planned menus of every day that we are there. He has so many favorite (completely unhealthy) foods that she makes that he hasn't had for like 2 years. He's actually worried about it too. He hasn't told her that we are losing weight and he just wants to suprise her when he sees her (He has lost 50 lbs since he last saw them). So hopefully she will decide to make smaller portions once she realizes that. We both have to watch our portions and find some way to exercise if we don't want to gain. It's going to be super hard, I know. It's actually somewhat chilly today in SW FL!!! I think our low was like 45 and high is 65. It was even too cold to leave the sliding glass door in our bedroom open last night, like we have been doing for the past week! Kity: Go you on your 1 lb. lost! You have less to lose than most of us, so your 1 lb. is even more significant! Just think: 1 lb. is 2% of your goal weight loss, for me, it takes 5lbs of loss to equal 2% of my goal weight loss. When you think of it that way, doesn't 1 lb seem like an even bigger achievement? (Sorry to break out the math, that's just the accountant in me). Oh and LuckyLindy, I am so addicted as well! Up until the last couple of days when I had no choice but to work every minute while I am at work, I was checking the board like 5 times a day. Have a great day everyone! |
Wow!!! That was a really long post! I had no idea it was that long until I posted it! Sorry for the novel! I guess I am making up for the past week or so :)
|
Wow tc, you actually did make me feel better about my guilty pleasure. I am going to be 27 on January 20th. I swore by my 25th bday that I would be a skinny woman, haha - 3 years later....maybe Ill make an honest woman out of me for my next bday.
I think portion control is what is going to get you through your vaca. Do they have buddy passes for your gym where you can go to another location in another state for free if your a member? That may be a thought. |
Yes, my gym does have that. You can go to any Planet Fitness in the country. HOWEVER, his parents live in such a podunk little town in the middle of nowhere, that I doubt there would be a Planet Fitness within like 30 minutes. I would normally have no problem with traveling that far or a little farther, but up north apparently you don't want to drive to much in the winter when the roads are icy and snowy. That's just what I hear anyway, you and I don't have to think about that type of thing...lol.
I just checked. There is only one Planet Fitness in the whole state of Ohio and it is like 3 hours away. Next idea? LOL. |
Lindy: I know about the whole birthday celebration thing. I turned the big 3-0 today, and boy to I feel old. I live in Chicago and it's -31 with the windchill. My hubby wanted me to have a special birthday, so we actually went out in the cold and went to a steakhouse for dinner. It's funny, even though I made changes in my diet to accomodate the calories, I was eating the steak (and potatoes and bread) and all I kept thinking was "boy these portions are huge, and boy does this food taste salty.
I think since I've been cutting out salt, etc from my normal diet, everything just tastes saltier. They did have these rolls that were the size of donut holes with cinnamon butter, that were so good. I had only a couple of those (maybe 3) and gave 1/2 of my potatoes to my hubby. Also, I ordered lobster bisque, and only ate 1/2 of that. Luckily we paid with a gift certificate, so therefore I didn't feel guilty about finishing everything (which I would have done previously). Basically, I'm to the point now that if I'm not enjoying something I'm eating, I stop. Before I started this diet, I would have eaten it anyway. My hubby was good to me today, I asked for some workout items and he delivered. He's been so great and supportive, so now I have new toys to play with. Once my knees get better from my fall the other day and I get over this cold, I'm working out. As for being addicted to this message board...me too! Guess it's better to be addicted to this than addicted to food!! ;) |
Happy Birthday MaddiesMom!!!!!!
|
happy bday maddies mom! thanks for the empathy, im going to need it for my endulgence tomorrow.
|
Happy b-day Maddiesmom and Lindy!!!!
TC- You got the idea. It's not always WHAT you eat ,but HOW much you eat. I hope you like the cold. It's been like -10 here in cincinnati. So.. I can just imagine what its like even farther up north. I can barely stand going to my car. I use to live in arizona. I miss not having to warm up my car.... anyway, you'll do great. Your DF has lost 50lbs!!! That is incredible! I'm sure it will be a big surprise. Oh yeah.. definitely not a lot of gyms in ohio. I don't think people are concerned with being fit and healthy up here because you can always hide yourself in jeans and a big coat. haha Lindy- hang in there. I think my spike in calories last weekend helped me to lose. I felt like I was stuck.. now I'm dropping like crazy. Maddiesmom- You have such will power! You definitely didn't overindulge. That is great! |
Is it too late to be a buddy???
I am not trying to lose weight. I am trying to get rid of it. Because when we lose stuff we go looking for it. I am tired of losing and then finding it again. I am at my highest weight ever!!!! UGH! :( So I started Atkins and am doing my Wii fit. This induction phase is a killer. I am married to a former Marathon runner who thrives on carbs. But, he is learning to fend for himself in that category. I think I am burning extra calories just trying to stay warm here in Chicago. Current temp reading at my desk is -7. When I got up this am it was -21. So chilly. Even the dog doesn't want to go outside. Good luck and I'll be checking in soon. :goodluck: |
