  • I have to lose this weight, I want so badly to have a baby, my husband sometimes wants kids and sometimes doesnt but he has said if it happens he will be happy. So right now I am just trying to get the first ten pounds off. I just have to get that ball rolling.
  • Hi tc and nessy! I am in Northern KY, a rocks throw from Cincinnati-well, if you have a strong arm...LOL! I have re-joined after a long time and my new years resolution is to learn to love myself and enjoy all the benefits that come with it.

I've been reading and scanning your posts and saw tc got a Jillian Michaels vid. I LOVE Jillian! I download her podcasts every week from her Sunday am radio program in CA (KFI am 640). I listen to her when I walk on my treadmill and lose track of time. She is very inspirational. I highly recommend this on the treadmill-makes an hour fly by!

Looking forward to learning, sharing and any support that I can give or get.
  • Hey all, I'd liket o join this buddy list =)

  • So, I lost my pre-christmas weight. YAYAYAYAYAY!!!!! Feeling fine in 09!.. I'm a dork.. I know=)

Rayne- You'll do it. I know. Think good thoughts.

Breath- Hi neighbor! I love your new year's resolution. Very inspirational.

Bev- nice to have you. Welcome! What's your weight loss plan?

Tiffany-I use to say.. I never want to have kids but I think that now that I know it's very difficult for me to conceive.. it has made me want it more. Don't get me wrong. I love to have freedom and live life without limitations. But it would be nice to have someone to work hard for, get out of bed in the morning for, and to share ups/downs with. I want a child to motivate me and to point out the little things in life. I definitely want to lose weight and enjoy being thinner before getting fat and pregnant. Maybe I'm just having a phase.. who knows. Oh.. and keep on working on that cushion room. haha. It is really a motivating factor. How's life been for you lately?

Lisa- I have pcos too. Keep the faith. It's hard but we'll get there. There's a lot of forums about pcos on here too. You should check them out. A lot of great advice out there and stories of people like you and me. Oh yeah. You have a great weight loss goal. Very do-able. Keep at it!

Lindy- I don't think I could give up pop. You're stronger than me. I can totally relate to the picture thing. I don't see myself as "that" fat. But pictures show something else... the TRUTH. ugh. Good idea about the pic on the fridge. I put my cholesterol level on mine.

Hope everyone has a great new year's. This will be the year!!!!!!!!!
  • Thanks for the Welcome,
    It's so great here.

I've been to (and failed at) slimming world 4 times, each time losing roughly 14lbs and then hitting the plateau, and gaining even more back, so calorie counting, reduced intake and giving up the dreaded take away fast food I've come to love, through laziness and online gaming taking over.

I also found that section on monthly exercise targets so I copied one and adjusted it to suit me and am going to try and do it.

I feel that this site has actually inspired me more than I ever had before because you are all so real, my fat club as it got called no one really talked to each other so it was kinda hard to get anything from it.

I have Pcos too but always tried to use it as an excuse but I've had it since I was 14 and had unsuccessful surgery for them, but my lowest weight was after diagnosis so IT'S NOT AN EXCUSE ANYMORE

anyway hope you all had a great night
  • So I am taking it ten pounds at a time. I want to get to 220 hopefully by the end of the month. I did Tae Bo Cardio Circuit 1 last night. It almost killed me, but I did it. I have 7 workout dvd's and plan on using them all to change it up. I have 2 biggest loser dvd's, 1 jillian michaels, 1 pilates, 2 tae bo, and one maximum weightloss(never used it before so dont know what it is like.

Thanks nessy. I hope losing weight we can both have the babies we dream about.

Everyone else, keep up with this struggle. Have a wonderful day and Happy New Year to you all.

    Allison
  • Bev- I didn't know you could have surgery for PCOS. I'm on metformin right now. Don't know if it will help. I think it does for weight loss though. I too usually diet for a month or so and lose 15-20lbs.. then quit and do it over and over and over again. Not this time!

Rayne-I want to get to 220 by January 31st too. It's a reasonable goal. I think we can do it. Tae bo kicks my but. My dvd's are dusty. Maybe I'll try it again. I just can't do it in front of anyone. It's embarassing. haha

I need to learn how to eat more small meals. I work twelve hour shifts. I'm a nurse and I am constantly busy. I don't have time to eat at work. My mind is always elsewhere. I usually eat before and after my shift. Which I think is slowing my metabolism. I just don't know how I can fit one more thing into my schedule at work. I stay busy! Ugh.. at least I'm burning calories at work. I use to have a desk job. That's how I got this fat!

    Happy new year everyone!
  • I started to 3fc blog to get everything off my chest. Its nice to be able to write everything down that I am thinking.

Tae Bo is hard. I had to take breaks in it all, it was long. But I am going to keep doing all my dvds. I don't work so I think I will get up in the morning and workout and then go to the gym in the evenings.

My bad habit is not eating small meals also. I need to start doing that. I have the time to do it, I just cant get myself on a schedule. I want my husband to do the eating aspect of this too but I just dont think he will. I am just thankful he goes to the gym with me.

I think my weigh in day is going to be Tuesday. Check my blog for why Tuesday. If anyone wants to join me on Tuesdays, let me know. I am excited to get the ball rolling this time.
  • So I was just wondering what type of scale everyone uses? I have a digital and a dial scale. My digital one needs a battery so I have been using the dial one. I am just afraid when I start using the digital one that it will give me a different weight than the one I am using now.
  • What a disappointing couple of days. I had a girlfriend from high school make a surprise visit on New Years Eve day, it has been all down hill from there! I am VERY disappointed in myself. Even worst, I couldnt stop at just one "blooper" I had to let it be a downward spiral effect, all the way till tonight! Anyway, I figure on Monday I'll get back on track. I know I should get right back on track but I just want to start clean. I'm also going grocery shopping at the farmers market, so hopefully that will help (stocking my fridge full of good stuff). Neesy...thanks for your support and pep talks. You are doing so well....so close to your short term goal of 220. Good for you.

Bugundyrayne - I have a digital scale and like it, however, both my husband and I think that it favors on the skinnier side - yeah for me, but disappointing when I go my doctor. It also measures your BMI (pretty cool feature).

TakeaDeepBreath - I love your idea about Jillians podcast, I didnt even know she had a talk radio show, Im going to download it this Sunday. Thanks!

Have a good night everyone. Ill touch base on Sunday when I weigh in, I wouldnt be surprised if I gained weight with all the crap I put in my body. On the brighter side - I still have not given into soda, which is a miracle (maybe that will pay off?).
  • Well, I weighed myself today - 220.5, my mood on my fat chart - disappointed but relieved because trust me - I ate way too much junk in a couple of days. To prevent this from happening again, I have pre packaged all my meals for this week, I did the same with my snacks (fruits, veggies, etc.), I think if everything is quick to grab, I'm less likely to lose control. It also helps that my friend is gone. It sounds bad but we went to lunch, dinner or breakfast every single day. Ugh. Well - back on track on Monday. I look forward to recording my weight next Sunday, I'm sure I'll lose weight.

How is everyone else doing? Any issues on your end?
  • Can anyone tell me - is my picture appearing? I cannot see it, but it shows uploaded on my profile? Am I forgetting to do something?

    Thanks!
  • boy, i hear ya!
Hi luckylindy! Your picture is not showing.

Sorry to hear you had a couple of bad days, but you are not alone. I have been on vacation since Christmas and my intentions were to get in together and get into an exercise routine while making wise food choices. Instead, it's been a lot of alcohol and not so great choices. I've gained 2 lbs during this time. I know a lot of it is hi-sodium food and adding soda back into my diet. So I am actually looking forward to going back to work tomorrow because it's a routine where I will have better control of my food...and the soda is 'finito'!

I think that if I have to be accountable for my actions (and lack of) by reporting it all here, I can get myself on the right track. I know that small goals make it easier to get where I want to be, but the big picture is in the back of my head at all times and is very overwhelming.

So my goal this week it to read the boards every other day (don't wanna push it...haha!) to keep my mind in it. I have adjusted my ticker to reflect the 2 lb gain as my starting point and placed my 10 lb goal above my overall goal, because at this point, it is more important.

    Ta-ta for now!
  • Rayne-I use a digital scale. I usually get a new one after a few months because it seems to start messing up. When it gives me a different weight when I step on it two or three times in a row... that's when I get a new one.
This time.. I'm trying not to be sooo dependent on the scale. I'm starting to notice that my clothes are getting looser and I can fit into some old clothes. That is way better than a number to me=) But, then again.. I have to weigh myself, otherwise I'll get off track and not even realize it.

Lindy-I had a bad couple of days too. I went to a few restaurants that I shouldn't have with my husband. I just started my vacation from work (not going anywhere) and it's starting badly. Luckilly, I haven't gained weight. I'm going to start fresh today. I want to lose three pounds before I go back to work. Great idea with the pre-packaged meals too. You're picture isn't showing up. You have to go to usercp and change your avatar photo. Click on avatar and go to the bottom to upload your photo there. Hope that helps..
Oh yeah.. if you are new to the site.. I think you can't do some things. So, maybe it won't work. Well.. give it a try.

It is definitely going to be hard to stay on track while I'm off work, but I'm going to try and stay busy.. and go to the gym, which I haven't been doing.

Well.. gotta run. Talk to you guys later! You're all a great motivation!
  • Take a deep breath- Glad you added a ticker. It really helps me. I love changing it with a weight loss. It's weird how the little things help so much.
