Auntie G, you hit it right on the nail! Mother nature will be visiting me soon and I've been salavating for chocolate! LOL! I'm trying to fight it! I said if I give in, I have to do an extra day at the gym!! But, I'm gonna try to be strong
:p

judydc 11-05-2008 12:55 PM

I hadn't planned to be out so very late last night, but things happen :D. I ended up staying at the party until after the acceptance speech. By the time I left, in search of a taxi home at nearly 12:30 AM, the streets were filled with deliriously happy people--many of whom needed a taxi, also. I ended up walking among the crowds for over an hour. Actually I had a good time with the gangs of folks waving flags and singing "God Bless America," or trying to decide if they should head toward the White House or toward one of the traditional socializing neighborhoods. This morning I and very sleepy, my legs ache, and I am a wee bit hung-over. But, to quote Edith Piaf, I regret nothing! It was a lot of fun. I phoned my grandma last night. I am glad that she is still with us, to a see a moment that she didn't expect to see in her lifetime.

And, as icing on the cake, I'm down two pounds since Saturday. I ate lightly yesterday, and didn't gorge on the snacks last night. I have two receptions after work today, so I planning another soup-and-salad day today.

Hope everyone is having a good day---judy

Hello Ladies!!

I hope everyone is doing great. Thank you all for your support. I'm feeling much better with the cramps. I just can't wait for my monthly friend to leave already. I'm pretty busy with hubby and getting things done before he leaves. I guess, I will be back later but before I leave, here is today's thought..

Making the most of your day

Do you often tell others (and yourself) that you just don't have enough time? If you are like most people, this is probably something you think about at least once a day. It seems like our lives continue getting busier but time never grows in proportion. This quote reminds us that great things can (and have been) done with the time that we all have. What will you do with your time today?

Take care,

Lu

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!!

Judy, it was a great night last night. I enjoyed the concession speech (I thought that McCain was very honorable and gracious last night) and I particularly loved that my Darth's bumper sticker came true.:D Unlike you, I didn't party, instead went to bed but with relieved thoughts.

Carol, I hope your day trip is uneventful. Be glad you're not here. Snow is pouring out of the skies. It's above freezing so it's not sticking quickly, but it's starting to... Roads with this morning were glare ice and probably won't be better on the way home. It wasn't comforting that today was the 1 year anniversary of my accident last year. Dangerous roads wasn't/isn't helpful.

Lu, wow, I've never had problems with my TOM like that. Geez, I'd hate it even more and it's at such a nasty time for you. I hope you feel better soon.

Judy. :carrot:on both the history makin last night and the 2 pounds.

Auntie, you think of the scale slayer when mr. chocolate hits and visualize taking the ball and chain over the monster's head. You can do it. You're so on a roll, no TOM can take you one.

Mi Mi, good for on on burning the ol' glutes. Amazing how good muscle fatigue can feel. You are doing so great.

Mazza, I want your weather. I really would like to visit and I'll bring Judy with.

Last night, in wet snowy yuckiness, I took the doggies for their 1.5 mile hike. This morning it wasn't snowing so we went again. Amazing how even dirt roads can be glare ice. I need new thingies that go on my boots for ice walking. The right one fell off last spring and I never found it.

Today is my dr. appt for all the test results. Bet I'm normal as can be but just without a metabolism. :D

Marie

'Tis a better day today! No chocolate monsters around, and new hope for the future... :)

Mi Mi, did you make it through the chocolate craving? Normally I am fine with my fake fudge (which is more of a fake brownie), but last night I just went off the deep end. Don't let it happen to you!

Judy, :carrot: :carrot: yay! A great night and a weight loss, to boot! How cool that you got to be right in the midst of all the excitement!

Lu, ah yes, time... We should certainly make the most of each day that we have. Glad you're feeling better!

Marie, yep, aside from my feeding frenzy, I agree that it was a great night!
I did print out the scale slayer, too, so now I also have hopes of defeating PMS! Be careful on that ice! And I hope you found out something useful from your tests.

cckayac 11-06-2008 06:43 AM

Quick note I am down from monday 1.5 and so that means I have 1 more lb. to go to be back to where I was a week and half ago. But thats okay at least I am on my way. My doc called yesterday but I was out of town for a conference I will rtn the call today. I bet my thyroid is off again which would explain wt. gain and my restless nights. Hope thats all it is. Anyways I am workin it girls off to exercise this afternoon. Missed only yesterday but did write my intakes and getting into the groove of doing that again. It does make a difference and cals were about 1500 yesterday. I will stay within that amt. again today. I am preplanning.
1.5 0f my 5 before Thanksgiving..... turkey day!!!

Marie 11-06-2008 11:52 AM

Morning everyone! It's another cloudy day but the snow is melting. :carrot:Last night's drive home from doctor was not fun. Snowy, icy and dark. But this morning's commute was better. Wet roads but not icy. All the tests came back normal. They're doing a couple other tests but are thinking that being freezing cold all the time is normal. There is a reason that I never go to the doctor, there's never anything conclusive about what's what. On one hand I'm very happy that all is good, on the other, I'm irritated that I'm so cold that I'm always freezing and people around me are sweating hot.

I did Richard's Sweatin' 2 this morning. I was in the mood for some good music and I enjoy that one the most. The S video cable wasn't connected all the way the other day so today I had color. :) Tonight i'm going to hike with the doggies. It's supposed to not be raining or snowing. :cp:

Carol, good job on the pounds lost. I hope you are able to make that Thanksgiving goal.

Auntie, I love the scale slayer graphic. Every time I want to kick the evil scale, I look at the graphic and grin, thinking that the ball and chain could do so much damage to it. Then I go on my way. I haven't even given the evil box a choice finger since I put it up in my bathroom. :D

Hello everyone!

It is way too hot here right now and I really wish I were where you ladies are - do you all get a white christmas? From a young age, the massive imports of american popular culture onto our TV screens led me to believe that christmas always meant having snowy weather and being inside with your family drinking hot chocolate... but an aussie xmas couldn't be farther from that!

Most late-december nights around here are spent outside of the house - whether it be in the backyard, front yard or balcony - having a bbq with some friends and family, and drinking cold beverages (usually beer or soda, but not me personally). I don't really know why I am mentioning this, but I guses it took me a while to fully comprehend the difference between a US and an australian xmas, and the fact that it will never snow in sydney ... let alone in december!

:)Anyway...

Marie - The way you speak about the snow in your parts makes me imagine some sort of mystical winter wonderland! I've only ever seen snow once - and that was a 12 hour drive away. I hope you had a great hike with your dogs - I don't know if you've gone yet or what... because of the time difference and all. Regardless - I hope it went well!

Cckayac, congrats on the loss! Your diet also sounds on track. Keep at it =D

Judy - Nice work on the 2 lbs! I like your 'icing on the cake' metaphor. How did your soup and salad day go? I love salad and soup - I make myself a salad as part of dinner several times a week, and we make homemade soup, too - what are your favourites?

Mi Mi - If I cold have my way, chocolate would make up 90% of my diet - I have a total soft spot for it... most other things I can go the rest of my life without eating...but every four weeks the cravings begin.

Paradise - aargh cramps =[.... I feel your pain. I really hope the exercise has helped with pain relief!

Bye for now.

- M

auntie g 11-06-2008 09:26 PM

Carol, :carrot: :carrot: on the 1.5 lbs down!

Marie, I'm glad you're not kicking the scale anymore - the slayer has some powers! And I am definitely with you on the doctor theory. No point elaborating. I guess that's why I have a habit of trying to diagnose myself and everyone I know. I'm not a doctor, I just play one on TV.

Mazza, we don't get a white Christmas nearly as often as I'd like, here in eastern Pennsylvania. We think we should because of TV and movies, too, but nope! At least it's not generally sweltering hot at Christmas. Your December sounds pretty much like my July. Oh, and I finally looked up a world time zone map, and you are 16 hours ahead of us in the east. Wow! Too bad you can't tell us what the lottery numbers will be since you're so far in the future! :lol3: (Guess it doesn't quite work that way, huh?)

Have a great Friday, everyone! (Or Saturday to Mazza!)

cckayac 11-07-2008 08:04 AM

Well okay my lb is back on the scale today crazy dang thing. But I thought back and yesterday had eaten some soy sauce at lunch and that is quite salty so I am hoping that is where my wt. gain came from? The report came back from the doc. chol was up 269 oh not so nice. She wanted to put me on something new zocor but I said not yet not so quick. They are sure quick to throw you on something but not give any ideas on how to get it down on your own. So all my other #'s weren't so bad. Today I started the oatmeal in the morning I have been doing more eggs lately oops maybe too many even though they were mostly poached. I am not switching to no white breads in my diet. Adding even more veggies. I had recently listened to others about the confliciting info. on butters, marg. etc. and switched back to butter with using less well guess that didn't do me any good now did it? What does everyone else use? I am open for ideas please share if you'd like. I switched over to seasalt only in the house for cooking. And I don't use that much.So thats it for me I did let her know I just got back into the swing of regular exercise and joined a new gym. So many times we just jump to what they offer I like to challenge the doc and do my own thing. If my numbers had been up higher well then I might of done it her way. Isn't it interesting they offer you no counseling or advice just a little curing pill. I am with you Marie these docs whats up with that? At any rate I try my best not to go often and I guess this is why. Self curing and the natural food store. I did try red yeast in the past and that didn't help me at all. Oh another thing is I do take fish oil but generally only 1 1,000 gr. so the bottle says 3 I will now take 2 in the a.m. and one before bed. Lets see how this goes reck in 3 or 4 months most likely 4 as far as I go. Good news is my company isn't increasing our ins. and they are offering 300.00 towards our gym again so mine is fully reimbursed to me. I am real pleased with this. There is a web site for assistance as well I am going to ck out lowering chol. ideas.
It does snow here usally on christmas and this year I am hoping for my family coming from HI. Yippy!!! Marie you keep that snow send it my way the day before christmas! That would be great! Todays weather again in the 60's I am off today and planning the gym for wt. resist. and then a nice walk. I am taking my sil for elbow replacement to be removed so half my day at least inside at the hospital. I am taking my 2 yr. sweater project to finish, jewelry mag. to mark what I need to make some new pieces. I have a few orders how exciting I say!
Marie do you use reg. yeast when using the bread machine? I just purchased some bread flour and want to use the machine soon its been so long. I need to look up some healthy breads with seeds, nuts etc..

Marie 11-07-2008 11:56 AM

Tgif!!!!

Ooo la la, weekend is so close I can almost smell it. Chatting with a co-worker, I said "And we won't have to come back till Wednesday!" We both cracked up. YEAH!!!! 4 day weekend in 7 hours!

Mazza, sometimes it's white here, sometimes it's not on Christmas. There's usually a nip in the air, but a couple years it was in the 70's. But as this winter is developing, I'm thinking loads of snow. I was just looking at the weather forecast and it's supposed to be rainy/snowy for another week. Today is the "good" day. Mostly cloudy with partly cloudy in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy apparently means not being able to see out my office window as the fog is so thick. I hate November!!!!:(

Carol, I buy my yeast at Costco in the big package, then keep it in a dated zip lock bag. Most bread machine recipes call for a specific amount, not a package so I find that best. The jars would work too but I like the costco yeast better.

And I ordered a sourdough bread starter from a company in New England. It's a starter from some that was started in the 1700's. How cool is that??? I'll let you all know how that works. And it was only 14 bucks with shipping. I'm pretty excited about learning that process.

Auntie, I almost kicked the scale this morning. It always amazes me that I eat less cals and exercise twice the day before and the darn thing is evil. But alas, it's just being petulant. So auntie, with the elections over, is your DH out of the political entanglement that has held his life for the last nearly 2 years??? I'm so glad it's over (and I very much like the results). So glad it's over. BTW, I just read that Dr. Hahn (Grey's Anatomy) is leaving the show so perhaps you could move into that spot. :D

Hi to everyone else. so the decision for the day - to work on my district's new website or to work on developing a cool database that I started earlier this week? Ah the decisions are endless. What I'd really like to do is go home, start a fire and snuggle with my doggies. But that's not in the option list for another 7 hours.
Marie

judydc 11-07-2008 06:27 PM

Weekend-shmeekend, Marie! I would love four days off. Alas, I am behind on several things with a deadline, so I'll be working all day Saturday. Our office is officially closed on Tuesday for Veterans Day, but I'll be in then, too...gotta whittle this pile down! I hope you're home snuggling with the dogs soon.

I did a good aerobic workout this morning (that chatterbox Leslie Sansome, with the sound on mute :D). My right shoulder is better, but it's still very achy in the mornings, so I haven't lifted weights in ages. I was eating well yesterday, but I've been munching all afternoon--grapes, a few almonds, a few baked chips, not so awful, but I keep looking around for more, so I'm consuming too many calories. Stress, that's all it is.

I'm still sporadic with logging my food. What am I gonna do about this? :?: Suggestions welcome!

Carol, I know you can get that cholesterol down. I love oatmeal, and I take a fish oil tablet in the AM and with dinner. I'm jealous that your company kicks in toward your gym fees!

Mazza, I grew up in the Snow Belt, so by Christmas we'd already had one or two major snow storms. We get a little snow in DC, but usually not much and it doesn't last long. Now if you want snow, Carol's your girl, she can tell you all about it!

Auntie and Mi Mi, I think I made a huge mistake with chocolate a few months ago, and I'm still paying for it. I tried keeping really good dark chocolate at home so that I could have a little bit as a planned treat. That works for some people, but for not for me. As the old folks used to say, if you're ride with the Devil, you know he's gonna want to drive! Plus I was trying to stop afternoon cravings with that sweetened protein crystal stuff they sell now, you stir it into water, and with just a few calories, presto-change-o, your craving goes away. That seemed to help at first, but unfortunately, artificial sweeteners also make me want more food...so the Carb Monster has been behind the wheel a lot these past three months.

Oops, I've been nattering on. Time to go home to a lovely big salad with chicken, and a chocolate protein shake for dessert.

judy

auntie g 11-07-2008 07:44 PM

Hi all! No weekend celebration for me yet, either, as I have to work tomorrow, too. :p It only happens once or twice a year, so I shouldn't complain, but I'm going to anyway! We're having an open house, and it is always madness- hot and crowded, and me running around like a crazy person. And chocolate everywhere. They usually just have Hershey Kisses, it's not like it's anything fancy, but still... It's hard to resist when there's a bowl of chocolate in every direction. Waaaahhh!

Carol, I was on Zocor for a while a few years ago, and I felt pressured into going on it. The doc used scare tactics on me and didn't really give me a choice. What was odd was that you can't have grapefruit when you're on it, and I never, ever cared about grapefruit until I couldn't have it! Then I thought about it constantly. Anyway, after I started the drug was when I decided to join WW. After I'd lost 100 lbs I took myself off it and never went back to be retested or anything. Probably a stupid move, especially since I then gained the weight back. But now since I'm on the wagon FOR REAL, I'm not even considering drugs again. I definitely think the natural way is the way to go!

Marie, a 4 day weekend! Sweeeeeet! Don't beat up the scale, it will get better. I've noticed, too, that on days where I get more exercise than usual, the next morning is not a good scale day. I'm sure it's just a fluid thing. As for the political stuff, while I am absolutely delighted with the election results, I fear that it is not over around here. DH has gotten himself a little too wrapped up, and is now going to run for a low level local position next year. That means that all the plotting and planning and meeting and maneuvering continues... I told him I better get a break until after the holidays, cause I can't take it anymore!!! :frypan: Oh, and I don't watch Grey's, but I'll have to check out the new job opening! ;) Have a nice doggie snuggle!

Judy, I hope you get some downtime this weekend! Grrrrrr, stress! Wouldn't it be nice if stress led to eating celery sticks? :joker: OK, so when you are logging your food, what do use to log it? The old fashioned pen and paper way, or something fancy and computerized? I made myself a nice Excel spreadsheet and I keep the sheets in a 3 ring binder on the kitchen counter, where I can't avoid it. But I hardly ever eat out, and I never travel, so that works for me. Maybe you just need a friendlier method that works with your life? And the chocolate thing... yeah, it doesn't really work for me, either, having real stuff around and thinking I'll ration it out. As long as I know it's there, it haunts me and taunts me until I come and get it. Groan... I'd never heard that saying about riding with the devil, but I LIKE it! I'm gonna have to remember that one!

OK, have a good night, everyone!

2CtheREALme 11-07-2008 07:53 PM

Judy I hear ya! I ate one nutter butter today; I couldn't help it! I like to think that since I did 30 min on the treadmill, and 1 hour of a powerlift weight class, that hopefully, if my body loves me, it will burn it off ASAP! But, we know how that goes:dizzy:

This week has been rough since I incorporated the weights into my workout. In a nutshell, I have so much blubber around my muscles, that I never realized how weak I was. I lifted on Tuesday, and then noticed a weight class going on, and I decided to attend it on Wednesday. Needless to say, I flet the burn!! And when I say burn, I mean burn!!! LOL! I was very proud of myself for going in the class and just doing it. I went again to the class today. We work all the muscles in the body so, this will be my weight training. Man, I feel so fatigued.

Question, is there a correlation between lifting weights and being hungry? For some reason, I am always so hungry a few hours after lifting weights? What is that about?

Mi Mi

Marie 11-07-2008 09:21 PM

Mi mi,

Logically there's a correlation between lifting and hunger in my mind. Food supplies the glycogen in the muscles and if you fatigued the muscles, then you'd need more to feed them. Now, I'm not a scientist and do not know that for a fact that you'd feel hungrier, but it makes sense to me. Great job getting into the weights. Since you'd want to replenish the fluids, chug a big glass of water to give your stomach something to do for a bit. That's my best way to ignore the hunger monster and 9 times out of 10 I sort of forget.

WEEKEND!!!! :carrot:I'm sorry to all my friendly chick friends that have to work this weekend. I left my laptop in my office and am happily not going to work. YEAH!!! And the doggies are surrounding me. I love them so much, my best-est friends ever.

Judy, why not look to shake the logging up? Do a google search on blackberry diet programs. Most will have a free trial. I love my windows mobile phone program. It's great when I'm out to eat and want to know calories and I tend to enter the foods as I eat so that I know where I stand. By far, it's my favorite way to log.

Auntie:rofl: Celery will never be on my stress foods list. Heck, it'll never be on my list. I only like it in stuffing at Thanksgiving (which I'm going to forgo as we'll be in Reno). Ignore the yucky kisses - milk chocolate is icky. Now if they have dark chocolate ones, that's harder. Actually I have a bunch in my desk drawer. I gave 2 to a co-worker and apologized if they were stale as they've been there forever. I guess I'm very lucky I can ignore foods even if they're in close proximity. At least something about my fat cells is good.

Oh, Mi mi, I too have blubber around my muscles. My arms and stomach - I told the dr. that under the fat, there's some good definition as I've been using free weights and doing crunches. Only I, however, will ever know those muscles are there. :flow2:
Marie

2CtheREALme 11-07-2008 10:03 PM

Marie, your going to have to explain to me how you use your windows mobile program on your phone to find out calories when your out. I have windows mobile on my phone, a Black Jack; and I've never really figured out how to use it.

Mi Mi

auntie g 11-08-2008 07:52 AM

Happy Saturday! Just a quick check in before WORK- ugh! I'm down one more pound this morning - woo hoo! I'm going to do my very best to resist those Hershey Kisses today. Hopefully I'll be so busy that I won't have time to listen to them calling me...

Mi Mi, congrats on starting up with the weights! I agree that it seems logical to be hungrier after using those muscles, but I don't know anything scientific either. Just keep on lifting!

Marie, I hope you have a delightful, doggie filled, celery-free 4 day weekend!

Gotta get my girl out for a walk before work, so I'm off... Have a great weekend, everyone!

Marie 11-08-2008 10:37 PM

Hi everyone! It's been a nice start to my long weekend. We went over the mountain to Costco. The durango needed 2 new tires, so we there first in line. We did a little shopping at Lowes and Costco, then when the Durango was done, we did a brief walk through the mall. I actually got a little Christmas shopping done. I bought the doggies a can of tennis balls and Kai Bear is quite happy with her present. Then we took a nice nap this afternoon. The three dogs and me. How peaceful is that?

I made my low cal chili and DH made small corn muffins (150 cals each). Wonderful dinner. We walked the doggies before heading over the mountain pass. All in all, a good day.

Mi mi, I will look for the link to the software I use. It was a little goofy to set up but they're directions did work. So when I sync my phone to DH's computer, it updates the computer version (where I do any recipes and such) and I can look at the reports on a screen that's not 2x3, :D I'll try to find it tomorrow. I did a quick google search and couldn't find the one I use. I'd tried about 6 programs out before finding this one that I really like.

Auntie, I hope the kisses stayed out of your way. Congrats on the 1 pound loss. Mr Scale is still being a mule, but no biggie. I can't be more on track than I am so I will keep trying.

Well, that's it for the night. Tomorrow morning, DH and I are taking DS2 out for breakfast. That should make tomorrow's calories a little more difficult but I'll adjust on the dinner end. Then on Monday, DS2 and his GF are coming for dinner. That's I'll have complete control over. ;)
Marie

mazza 11-09-2008 02:30 AM

Oooooh man, what a sunday it's been.

My mum and I went out for the day and I ended up eating vanilla slice, some caramel tart and an almond & chocolate pastry thing. Definetly not waistline friendly, but nonetheless - I thoroughly enjoyed everything and tomorrow is a new day.

Low cal chili sounds delicious, Marie. I love spicy foods. A nap with your dogs sounds lovely - how's that for bonding with pets?:)

Mi Mi - I totally empathise with the strength training + hunger thing. On my weight lifting days, I'd get home and after my shower, I'd feel like I could eat an entire chicken by myself! What I find really helped was eating a snack about 40mins before hitting the gym - like an apple or something equally carby. Also, planning to do my WL so that I could get home and eat my meal of the day containing the most protein within an hour of getting home.

Cardio makes me nowhere near as famished. In the short term, at least, it supresses my appetite.

Auntie - hersheys kisses!! Ooooh man. That's all I can think to say!

I hope you all have a great sunday!

auntie g 11-09-2008 06:35 AM

The evil chocolate monster...
http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...nessy/domo.png

So, I did have a few Hershey Kisses yesterday, but I wore my pedometer to work, and I got in just about 3 miles walking back and forth throughout the day, so I figured it was all OK. Well, it seems that we were too busy to have lunch, so by the time I got home, I was famished and wanted pizza. Mmmmmm, pizza... That was fine, but then I don't know what happened to me later! I lost my mind and ate about 600 calories worth of chocolate, when I wasn't even hungry. I'm blaming the monster. :p

Marie, sounds like you had a productive day! I think I'm ready to start a little bit of Christmas shopping, too. Now I just have to decide what I'm after, so I don't go overboard. Have a nice breakfast out!

Mazza, oh, you had a sweet day, too! Ah, I guess that's just life. As long as we don't do it every day, right?

All right, I've got a lot to catch up on around the house today, so I have to rip myself away from the computer. I think I'll put the pedometer on again, to keep me moving. Today's Eagles game isn't until nighttime, so I have all day to get some work done and calories burned! Have a good one, everyone!

cckayac 11-09-2008 08:29 AM

Hello everyone! Well I am on the road to work on my healthy lifestyle oh its not always so easy. I did work out yesterday and plan to hit the gym on my way back from visiting my SIL at the hospital. She had her elbow replacement out as the body rejected it for 5 years crazy huh? They put some pins in and she is in quite alot of pain. Staying there since fri. till most likely mon. I felt really great at the gym yesterday really getting into the swing of things. Trying so new equipment etc. On the 15th we have an instructional appt. schedule with a trainer to become more in tune with the machines. They have an area with a circuit training 6 machines I think in 30 min. workout suppose to work out all your areas etc. Sounded good to me. I am becoming more comfortable with the gym and knowing what machines are there no workout classes with this gym but thats okay. For my price its still great and now the company is paying me back eventually. Marie happy 4 day to you girl you deserve every bit of it. Let me know about the sour dough bread yummy. I bought some whole wheat eng. muffins yesterday had one for breakfast with one sliced boiled egg 1 T. Mozz. cheese, 2 slices bacon can. style low fat 70 cals. and switched to a Land of Lakes 1/2 butter light stuff 50 cals a serving low chol. not so bad. Not that I use much. My cals were on the mark yesterday but I did induldge in some wine last night with a friend then we had a girls night out. Went to the casino has some good laughs won lost but came home with 5 extra than I went with so I consider myself a winner.
Judy I made myself a little journal on the computer and then copied it cut it up and made a little book it fits in my purse so I always have it. I am getting better about documenting in it. It has date, wt, activities, water, Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack on it. Then I total it out at the end of the day. Its nice cause its small and always with me and individualized to fit my needs and goals. Its good for me to flip back to ck how many times I have been to the gym etc. When I lost wt. and what I ate then etc.
Snow stay away! Weather is still nice but we are to get some rain later on today. No snow in the forecast Marie you can keep it for awhile yet.
Well everyone this wt is stubborn but at least I am using my scale daily. Its not moving so quickly but when I first workout it never does guess building muscle? I agree with all of you on the med. thing forget it I don't think that 269 was all that off the road of healthy is it? I will look up the numbers later on. Few twiks in the diet more activity and I should be fine. I have inc. my fish oill too. I used to take only one now 2 and can't seem to get into the 3rd one at bedtime I always forget.
Oh on the job front my boss and the director have asked me to teach other coworkers how to write up more details in their paperwork and how to document monthly so that we are more than covered for funding and audits. I am not sure how my coworkers will feel about that? I requested for the upper hand folks to tell them that this process will be happening instead of me at their request. They also are doing this so they can show my leadership skills with in the dept. and are working on still wanting me to move up in mtg. If it happens thats okay if not down the road there will be other opportunities for me to change my daily activities a bit with community outreach program we are involved in now. Time will tell I am just not worrying about it if it happens fine if not no biggy.
Take care have a super day and don't for get every choice is our choice. What goes in our mouths is up to us and us only. Have a super day!

judydc 11-09-2008 02:35 PM

I'm taking a break from work. I am supposed to be finishing up at least one of my many projects, but my mind is so scattered (don't forget about X; doh, I forgot about Y) that I can't concentrate. So I've been making up wall charts to reassure me that nothing critical will disappear from sight. Many Post-it notes are being sacrificed in furtherance of my mission, but I'm just helping them achieve their destiny, after all:p Yes, I may have official "lost it."

Carol, you're getting me psyched to work out! I really noticed this morning how much muscle tone I've lost this past month. Congrats on being asked to take more of a leadership role at work. It always feels awkward at first, but if you don't make a big deal out of it, neither should anyone else. It helps me to use examples of other people's skills or best work, as a way of reminding myself and the other folks that we're all figuring this out and learning from each other.

Auntie, are you sure that guy's a monster? The mouth is plenty big, but the arms need to be longer and the hands need to look like shovels!

Mazza, calories you eat while you're hanging out with you mom don't count.

Marie, sounds like you're having a lovely weekend. But aren't you ruining the doggies' surprise by giving them their presents so early?

Mi Mi, I tend to want to eat more when I'm serious about building muscle. That also happens if I fall off the cardio wagon (as I have this past few weeks) and then climb back on, then it goes away.

Lu and Penny, I hoep you're doing well today.

So re the logging: I have a lovely calendar that I keep in my purse, and it works just fine, when I use it. I track water, food and workouts, not trying to count calories, just what time and how much, and any notes re travel, challenges or ah-ha!s. Over the years I've had success with those logs from the bookstore that have nutritional counts at the back. I've also tried a simple Excel spreadsheet, and a couple of web-based tracking programs. I always have my Blackberry, so I could use it for an electronic system or just to take notes. I don't think the problem is the tool I use, I think I'm resisting putting the energy into following any structure right now :(. I think it's in reaction to how life has been since the late summer, a stubborn but unproductive response to feeling overloaded. I've thought about going to a therapist or a nutritionist, but that would be yet one more thing to organize, pay for and find time for in my calendar:headache: I hope I snap out of this soon! I don't want to slide back up the scale.

Back to work. At least I'll feel more organized on Monday....

Hi all, we're a busy, talkative thread this weekend. Breakfast with my DS2 was very nice. I had one pancake which I calc'ed to be equal to 3 Ihop pancakes in my log. They had strawberries (no sweet syrup) and whipped cream which I scraped all of it off. Just the dregs remained to give the flavor. Over all, cals at breakfast were fine. I'm over what I usually am at this time of day but mostly because the chocolate monster is out and about - and I had an extra 70 cal serving of M&Ms. Low cal dinner on the agenda so all should be fine. I took my doggies out of a 1.5 mile hike this morning - all the stars were out and that was a nice surprise. The forecasters said Thurs and Friday were supposed to be partly cloudy, then the weather was to deteriorate again. But surprise, all the days were yucky and today is gorgeous. So it's been great. We cleaned my latest stained glass window (too big to clean indoors) and DH is finishing the oak frame. I will take a picture when it's hung and sun is coming through it. The glass is unbelievably gorgeous. There are two new colors that the glass shop showed me and they are vibrant.

Judy, I agree you've lost it. I didn't get the first paragraph in your post but then it started making sense. I would imagine in this economy heading a non-profit would be near impossible. Good luck getting back to the journaling and exercising. I know you can do it - you've come to far to slip up.

Mimi, I looked at my phone and the program is a www.keyoe.com and I purchased both the desktop program and the phone program. It's very simple to learn and moving foods that you eat mostly to the favorite (I use the computer for that), it's quick to log.

Auntie, eeks the cookie monster didn't get you - the chocolate one did. I hope your Eagles do better than my Packers. They lost to DH's team. It's so hard to b&c about the team when he's happy. :D Now Nascar is on. Zzzzz. I've been cutting out glass but even that wasn't keeping my attention. I was thinking of hooking up my ipod and listen to a book but it might hurt DH's feelings. The computer doesn't.

Carol, look at the bright side of SIL in the hospital, she's not complaining about the meals you're making her. I do hope she starts to recover as it does sound nastily painful. I'm glad you're enjoying the gym and Judy's right - it might be awkward at first but if they don't see it bothering you, then it should smooth over decently.

Mazza, what's a vanilla slice? If you had a great time with your mum, then you know, that's all that matters.

I guess I will get back to the extremely boring nascar race. BORING.
Marie

Girls a new recipe to share today. Maybe you have heard of it or tried it already ww pumpkin cake. It really was a little bit the texture of gingerbread cake I thought. At any rate not sure of the pts. or cals but here it is:
1 carrot or spice cake mix
1 can of solid pumpkin it has lots of fiber I hear.
Bake it in a 8'' pan greased and floured at 350 until done fork clear done!
Then you serve it with fat free cool whip.
Hey I made it today and the hubby and brother in law never new it was healthy way to go huh? Anyways its pretty good moist and tasty. A nurse at the hospital gave it to me. Also a crock pot soup recipe that cooks all night with the V8 juice, potatoes, beef chunks, and then the next day on low you add all the rest of the veggies and cabbage, good season dry salad dressing mix to season it. She said its great I am not sure about that seasoning for soup but I do like it for salad. Well what do you think ever hear of such crazy recipes? Just thought I'd share. SIL still is in the hospital I visited for a few hrs. then shopped for groceries and a few christmas gifts. Then came home baked the cake made scallops broiled for dinner and some veggies. Cleaned the ref. out yuk I hate that job. Now I am going to sweep and mop the kitchen and I am done for the day. Time to relax.

Marie 11-09-2008 11:09 PM

hi all. Trying something new. Sending and reading the messages from my Ipod itouch. It's slow and strange. TTYL.

mazza 11-10-2008 12:00 AM

I'm really starting to love this thread. I love how it's like a hidden slice of 3FC heaven. A sanctuary away from the loud noise :)

Judy - I like your view on calories not counting! And for what it's worth, they were calories bloody brilliantly spent. :D

Marie, a vanilla slice is.... oh god. How do I explain? How does one explain heaven on a plate? It's just like a caramel slice - (assuming you know what one of those coronary nightmares is) but instead of caramel filling, it's got vanilla filling. It's got a cream in the middle of two pastry type layers and on top is vanilla icing. Enough to make your heart stop working as soon as you walk into the bakery.

Auntie - chocolate is by far my biggest weakness, so I hear ya. Your evil chocolate monster and I go wayyy back. I think I could give up almost everything except for chocolate and cheese.

I've been stressed out lately with exams, my part-time job and some family issues and for some reason I've been craving salty foods like crazy. I read something about it being linked to stress and adrenal exhaustion, ut I'll have to look into it more.

The sun is really intense these days and forgetting to coat yourself in sunscreen before leaving the house means getting home with a burnt face - and worst of all, a peppermint stripe (red sunburn line across the back of your neck).

Do all of you ladies use a gym or do you do outdoor exercise? What do your routines look like? I'm just curious. I love hearing about what sort of exercise regimes people have.

auntie g 11-10-2008 09:03 AM

 Well, the chocolate monster visited again last night, but now there's nothing left in the house, so I think I'll recover today. I stupidly thought that I was being smart , buying stuff ahead of time for Christmas, but, ummm, guess not. I've learned my lesson.

On the bright side, I got a lot done yesterday, including some major physical exertion - hauling stuff up to the attic, lifting an old heavy TV quite a few times, and even did an exercise video - woo hoo! Today it's finally sunny out, and I am going to get a good walk in!

Carol, you're on a roll with the gym! Congrats! Hope your SIL is feeling better soon.

Judy, helping the Post-its achieve their destiny cracked me up! It is a good plan. That monster pic was the only one I could find, so he'll have to do. He's lucky I didn't eat him! :hun: OK, now, about the logging- :soap: you've GOT to snap out of the resistance! Remember that this is for YOU. That's the problem with us as women- we do whatever we have to do for everybody else, but then we don't do what we should do for ourselves. We are worth the trouble! (I'm trying to tell myself that, too...)

Marie, the Eagles blew it, too. It was a bad football day, but a good day for getting things done, so it's all good. Congrats on the strength to scrape the stuff off your pancake! That is amazing! I don't think I could do that. That's why it's better I just don't go out to eat too often. I am scheduled for a Red Robin trip next Saturday, but it's been a while, and it will fit into the plan, as long as I stay far, far away from chocolate during the week - which I will do!

Mazza, yep, chocolate and cheese are my close friends, too. At least there are good choices for lighter cheeses nowadays. Do you have the Laughing Cow cheeses in Australia? They have been a life saver for me! And as for your question, no gym for me yet. I mostly just walk with my doggy daughter. Sometimes I get out by myself for a more vigorous walk, and sometimes I mess around with some weights while I'm watching TV, but no formal plan going on here.

Have a great day, everybody!

Marie 11-10-2008 01:55 PM

Hi all, day 3 of my 4 day weekend. I feel much better today (I'd slept wrong on Fri and Sat night and my neck was really painful). DH and I took the doggies for a 3 mile hike and we went at the big mountain road climb that I couldn't do a few years ago without several breaks on the way up. I admit I was really huffing and puffing, but I made it without a break. Major accomplishment. So I got a good workout in.

Mazza, my exercise is eclectic. I like to vary it but what always stays is hiking the roads I live on. I'm nestled in the mountains and out my door is many hills and dirt roads. No where on the roads is flat so it's quite a workout. My eldest doggie has hip problems and is on constant meds if I don't exercise her pretty much every day. So exercise she gets because she is my soul doggie. It matters none to me if my heel is throwing darts up my leg (as it did for about 2 months and just recently stopped) or if I just had toe surgery (about a month ago). She must walk and as she can't go alone, I just endure it. But for other exercise to have lots of fun, I swim a lot in my pool during the summer/start of fall. But that's over for the season. I'll post my 2008 swimming miles when I next log onto a windows computer (my exercise database is access and that's windows based). Last I looked at the mileage, I was quite please. Probably at the end of 2008 I'll post the walk miles as well. I also do Leslie Sansome's WATP videos when the weather is too yucky in the morning to walk the doggies. And I really do like Richard Simmons Sweatin' 1 & 2 videos. I also have my mountain bike on a trainer for the winter. And during the winter I snowshoe and downhill ski. I love to ski - I'm a speed maniac. I have season passes to the area about 75 miles from my house and I go at least once a week. Thank heaven the price of gas has come down in the last 2 weeks. BTW, I actually paid $2.09/gallon yesterday. It was like a gift after the $4.25/gallon in sept.

Auntie, I forbid you to buy any more Christmas chocolate. If it calls your name and you can't ignore it, it must never be invited in.

So yesterday I played with the itunes store for iPhone and iTouch applications. I went a little overboard for my iTouch. It now has Frogger, the only arcade game I have ever liked. DH and I got engaged over it at our favorite pizza place. I bought soduko, a grocery list program, pong, dictionary and a couple others. Yes, I went overboard but it's really cheap. I think I spent about $15. So then I played with the internet part of my iTouch ipod and actually posted a message on 3FC. It wasn't very hard and it was easy to read the messages. But my beloved Mac is much easier (said as I type on it) for surfing.

I guess I'm going to cut a litte more glass out today. DS2 is coming for dinner and bringing his new GF. DH hasn't met her, I did briefly a couple weeks ago. I already made an Italian herb/garlic bread in the bread machine. All right, I measured the ingredients and it will start in a few hours. DH will make the pasta and the marinara is already made. I guess a salad would be good, but that would require driving 30 minutes to town. So frozen petite green beans will do for the vegetable.

Have a great day everyone!!!!
Marie

Hello everyone. Looks like we are all trying to move towards our goals. Hurray! Today will be a bit tricky I did the scale this a.m. and down a half from yesterday but still need 1 more lb. to be where I was last week. Oh its so tricky. At any rate this afternoons meeting is being held at a chinese rest. with the buffet. I am a bit worried about having so much to choose from. I am trying to tell myself to take small portions and of only what I really want and to try eat veggies fresh fruit hot tea and drink ice water. For dinner I will make a salad tonight with some tuna. Last night I steamed some shrimp and had a little steak roll up with carrot sticks, spinach inside. It was okay I only at half of it not my favorite not that tasty. Figured why waste the cals. My pumpkin cake I had for dessert with a little banana yogurt fresh banana on the side. I figured all healthy. Hubby loved that pumpkin cake hah hah if he only new it was a ww recipe funny huh. At any rate it was a good easy treat and was healthier than some other choices. I too had a bit of choc. in the house Auntie g but mine was the special choc. bar and that I was able to have one little square. I guess that shows its not my favorite but meets my choc. need. Well today our office building is closed at he state runs it. So I am as they say out in the field. I am going to make a lot of visits and then work out after work today. I didn't manage to get there yesterday as I had to drive a coworker into the city. But today I will. SIL is still in the hospital they are working on finding an antibotic that will treat her infection. That is a good thing for her. The one they tried yesterday she had a reaction to. They can only do one a day. So today will be 2 and wait and see. Its not nice she is in the hospital but hubby and I have kind of liked having the whole house to ourselves. Not that she really is a bother but yah know what I mean. Anyways I would love to live near the moutains Marie how beautiful it must be. No wonder you walk so much I would to. Wish I could join yah! Your dinner sounds yummy. Is he serious about this one? Mom's usually can tell.
Mazza I am glad your liking this thread we are all enjoying your company and all the rest of you that have joined recently. We are all in this together and the more the better. Bouncing ideas sharing thoughts its what its all about to stay focused even when we are detoured off course for a bit. Coming back to grips with what we need to accomplish. Have a super day and wow todays work out will be a bit longer to make up for any extra lunch cals.......Thats one way to try to beat the cals off!!!

judydc 11-11-2008 01:32 PM

Plugging away at work on Veterans Day. The weather's really feeling like classic autumn--sunny, crisp and with an awfully quick nightfall. Now that I've figured out how to dress, my mornings are going much more smoothly!

Mazza, probably my liberal views related calories is why it's taking me eons to reach my goal ;) I do workout videos most mornings (or at least I was until recently). I have a little rowing machine, and my apartment building has a small exercise room that hardly anyone uses, so I'll be down there a lot. I love walking, and I used to do more long walks on my way to work, but last year I had so many foot and knee problems that I decided to be kind to my joints and not spend so much extra time pounding the concrete. Ideally I do 45-60 minutes of intentional workouts at least five days a week, and my goal between now and the Thanksgiving break two weeks from now it to get back to that routine.

Auntie, thanks for the pep talk :coach: Something's going on inside my head that's tired, afraid or otherwise being difficult. Once I figure out what's making me so irrational, I'll be speeding down the losing track, like you!

Carol, I hope your SIL is better soon. It was so good of you and your hubby to take her in. That slow cooker recipe sounds interesting. I would try it, but the smell of cooking food overnight makes wake up ravenous!

Marie, I'm waiting until my BlackBerry dies (not too soon, I hope) before investing in the iPhone or something similar. At this point I don't use all the features on the BalckBerry--I forget it has a camera--and I have little iPod Shuffle that I only occasionally use. I would like to have Scrabble on my BlackBerry, though, as I had on my Palm years ago.

Another chocolate-free day - woo hoo! And during PMS and a just about full moon, too! Hmmmm... very strange for me, indeed. I've decided to wear my pedometer at work every day now, so I can try to increase my normal activity. Today I got in 2 miles during the work day, so tomorrow I'll shoot for more.

Has anyone tried the FiberGourmet light mac and cheese? I saw it advertised on Hungry Girl, and I couldn't resist ordering it. I haven't had boxed mac in ages, and I was so excited because it is loaded with fiber, and being a carboholic, well, I had no choice. Anyway, I had some for dinner tonight, and although it's no Kraft, it was pretty good, and incredibly filling! Ah, fiber...

Marie, congrats on the mountain climb! And Frogger brought back some memories! That was my sister's fave, but I was always a Pac-Man fan. I never really advanced beyond that in computerized games. So sad. I sure could go for a good game of pinball, though!

Carol, how'd you make out at the Chinese buffet? I'm not really into Chinese food, but any buffet is scary! Willpower definitely is in order...

Judy, I can totally relate to the "trying to figure out what's making you irrational" thing. Every time I've been in between diets, that's what I tried to do. Figure it out. But I never did succeed at that. For some reason, when the time is right, the switch just flips and I start to do what needs to be done. The switch flip is always initiated by something I hadn't expected and can't control. I'm not sure this is making sense, so I shall give it up for now. But if you do figure this thing out, maybe you should write a book! I'd buy it!

OK, off to watch Biggest Loser. Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

mazza 11-11-2008 08:21 PM

Hey everyone!

I have my last exams today and thursday.. finally, freedom.

Auntie - is The Biggest Loser a good season this year? We have our own version but still see the american one. It's great how they keep things fresh season after season. Good work on resisting the chocolate! TOM makes cravings especially difficult to deal with. That mac and cheese stuff sounds good .. and I'm with you on the Kraft thing. Mmmmmm.
Oh - and we do have laughing cow cheese here.. I don't know how I would have made it through my childhood without it, but I haven't eaten them in ages. I used to love opening the little triangle aluminium wrappers. That brings back memories! I usually stick to danish-style reduced fat feta cheese - it's less than 200 calories per 100gms and it's tasty, but it isn't the biggest indulgence as far as cheese goes.

Carol - Thanks for the warm words! "We are all in this together and the more the better." :D:D
I love chinese food - and steamed shrimp, as well as salad and tuna. Looks like we make a lot of similar food choices:). What is pumpkin cake like? I can only imagine, but I've never tried it. Pumpkin and cake are both yummy - so both things together would make sense. Is it sort of like carrot cake - with the combination of flavours?

Judy - Blackberries have always seemed, to me, to be at the the cutting edge of palm pilot-type technology - are there many differences between one of those and an iPhone?
I, too have resisted buying one. I figure, I've got an iPod, and a phone - and I'm not dying for internet access while I'm on the bus, but I can understand why people would buy them, for work reasons etc. I guess i'll end up buying one eventually, but for now I'm happy with my phone being able to text and call.

Marie - you're all set for electronics! I had no clue they made so many different features and applications for iPhone and iTouch.
I hope your neck is feeling better.

Well I am off. I'm going to have lunch soon - which will include a delicious, fresh mango straight from the fridge... mmmmmm.

Seeya!

cckayac 11-12-2008 07:10 AM

Mazza yes it is like carrot cake. In fact you can use a carrot cake mix instead of spice and just add a 15oz can of pumpkin. I think next time I will add maybe a 1/4 or 1/3 cup of unsweetened applesauce. Just to make the batter a little thinner. But everyone liked it and the fiber was also in it. Pumpkin is a good source of fiber. I served the last piece to my SIL.
She came home from the hospital yesterday we are in for a long journey but it will be okay with support from my friends and family. She needs an antibotic once a day put into her line to fight infections etc until 12/23 can you say wow that will be a celebration day if ever. The same time everyday so we are edging up the time by one hr. until we reach 5 pm. Then it will workout better for me. A nurse will come in to do blood draws etc. This won't be fun but we will make it through it. She is a good person and we are going to support her during this time with what she needs. In the end we hope it works their worried the infection could of gone into her bones? Say a prayer for Sandy that didn't happen.
Well Mazza and everyone else chinese is tricky even when you take the healthier choices I think they add lots of salt. My scale showed a 1.5 inc. this a.m. not to worry myself its most likely salt. So today I will be good for breakfast and lunch now dinner is another story. I have ordered chicken on the choice list for an appreciation dinner for work with a certain group of admin. folks. So needless to say its at a nice rest. in the city. I am going to try to skip out for lunch and workout today at the gym near my work. I paid a bit more for my membership so I can us it at different locations there are 3 in diff. areas throughout the city east, north and west where I work. I figure the workout would be a good thing since I am out to dinner tonight. I am trying and the scale even know its stubborn it helps for me to know whats up or down oh lets hope this is it for meals out. Well fresh mango sounds good wish my son could bring some from HI with him but he can't bring fruit. Its a law so no issues get trans. from one place to another etc.. buggies I guess?
Take care and oh I spent some cash on new beads to make some more things it was a fun time and cost me 45.00. Oh well can't take it with us and some stuff was for resale necklace I am making.
Have a great day!!

Marie 11-12-2008 12:52 PM

Morning everyone!!! I'm back at work, the 4 day weekend a pleasant memory. I did a bit of stained glass, snuggling (and walking) the doggies, cleaning, shopping, etc. Co-workers asked if I did anything fun. I replied it was just nice and relaxing so it was very fun.

Mazza, I bet you get fresh fruits like the mango all the time. I'd be a fruit-a-terian if I lived in an area where fruits are easy to come by. Especially if I could grow my own. Oh, I'm jealous.

Carol, I'm glad your SIL is back home. Sounds like it will be quite a medical workout until Christmas. Hopefully all goes well.

Judy, I didn't realize your new place also has a little gym. That will be nice for you. What Auntie said about something just switching on is what it is like for me as well. My advice is to keep fighting it, even if you don't totally succeed until the switch flips. For me, I set a deadline, the day my sister left after our mini-vacation, as the day to weigh in, and it was a breeze to get back on track. But I think the damage I could have done would have been way worse if I'd not fought it, wanting the switch to flip. And with the amount of flux in your daily life, you are doing great on the fight. I have found that weighing daily has kept the switch flipped as I don't give myself any flexibility for cheating.

Auntie, the full moon has something to do with chocolate cravings too? Wow, us females have a lot to contend with. Good job on the coco monster at bay.

Penny, Lu, and Mi mi, I hope all is okay with you. Lu, I've been thinking about you and your DH deploying this weekend.

I changed my loss ticker today. It took 1.5 weeks to lose another pound, but Mr Scale was much kinder today than yesterday (which said that I'd eaten an extra 3500 cals if I hadn't known it was water weight). I set my Alarm 1 this morning to take the doggies out but apparently I've been using alarm 2 and I slept in. So I need to exercise after work and I fixed the alarm situation for the morning. Food is on track and today the girls are getting squished at 12:30. Yes, I have to give up my lunch break for a mammogram. Bad scheduling on my dr.'s office part.

I suppose I should work.:p
Marie

auntie g 11-12-2008 07:56 PM

We're over the hump and on the downslide to the weekend!:jig: (I'm not sure what that monkey is supposed to be doing, but I've always wanted to use him.) Well, my pedometer didn't work today because I was wearing pants that are 2 sizes too big (:D), so it didn't sit right. Bummer! I was so excited to try to beat yesterday's mileage that I actually did some warehouse jogging :twirly:. I'll try again tomorrow.

Mazza, The Biggest Loser seems a little off this year. There are some people I seriously do not like. They are more about PLAYING the game than WINNING the game. There's a clique led by a nasty woman and I'm getting junior high vibes from her. She's gotta go! Oh, and that Laughing Cow cheese is still relatively new to me, so I am really digging it! The light wedges only have 35 calories, and they are such a delicious change on a veggie burger from some nasty, fat free pre-sliced piece of plastic! Mmmmm... And now with all this mango talk, I had to break out my mango lipgloss- mmmmmm...

Carol, good luck taking care of your SIL! Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you. I hope things go smoothly. And I am definitely going to try that spice cake! Maybe I'll make it for Thanksgiving for a little change of pace from pie.

Marie, so sorry your long weekend is over, but at least it's almost the weekend again! I'm not sure about the full moon and chocolate connection - it might be just me! But I do usually have a way worse PMS when it's also a full moon. This time I seem to be doing much better than normal. Congrats on the ticker change!!!:cheer:

Have a good one!

cckayac 11-13-2008 09:01 PM

Hello everyone. Well I met with the gym trainer today. She actually just showed the group how to use different equipment. Gave us great tips and a schedule on when to do the machines. Its upper body one day the next workout lower then upper. She stuck in there 10 min. of cardio between reps completed then reps. 10 min cardio, reps, 10 min cardio. Then at the end of one week working out at least the 3 times we chg. it around lower, upper and lower. My friend and I really liked her and signed up for the circuit session on the 24th just in time for turkey day. Hah hah. So we will do every 3 rd time circuit. We also were told when driving watching tv and other times throughout our day to suck in the belly to firm it up. It will be fun working on these new ideas.... Anyways we are sure getting our 20 bucks worth every month. She gave us a chart to work on and said never work in the same manner two days in the row no matter what type of work out shake it up and the last few times in the rep to always challenge yourself or if walking do a little mix up skip or go faster, slower faster etc. Well thats my tip of the day to share with all of you. Hope your all doing well. It was a good food day except for a little cookie that jumped from the bakery into my hand and then to my mouth. But I think during my day I wore it off at least I hope so. I am doing better with tracking my intakes so if it was naughty it got added in. Take care and have a great day. I loved the monkey still haven't figured out on how to add things like that in.

Where is everyone? Sounds like where is Waldo. Anyways just venting. My white evil scale said I am up 3lbs. from yesterday. No I will admit I did have that cookie but thats crazy! I also drank alot of coffee yesterday. I thought back to reflect what I had also a packaged wild rice for dinner and the sodium is high in that stuff just thought it was a nice chg. guess not. So today I will watch myself like a hawk over prey! One coffee home and one at the conference, and watch for sodium level info. becareful not to let the devil grab me today! I have to say it was suprising # if that was the case I should of really enjoyed myself. It could of been some leftover cals etc. from my dinner out I guess the day before wed.? No that could be. Oh well trying to move forward and will really take careful foot steps today and drink plenty of water to flush out my system.....................................
Have a good one.

Helloooooooo... Happy Friday! Nothing much new to report, but I have been officially chocolate-free since for 4 days now!

Carol, sounds like a good gym plan, and I'm sucking in my belly right now! Good reminder! I'm sure that 3 lbs in one day is fluid. Drink your water and it'll be gone. And to put in the smileys, you've got to click "Go Advanced" at the bottom of the posting area (before you type your message). Then the selections will show up, and you just click on whatever you want to insert.

Off to work. Have a good day, all!

Hi Everyone,

I hope all is going great and everyone is busy exercising and is the reason we're so quiet this week. :D

Things have been going good. Mr. Scale was kind this morning but one never knows when it will pull a trick like Carol's did. Those evil boxes are mean. I told DH yesterday, "What the scale gaveth yesterday, it tooketh away today". ;) But alas it gave again today plus .2 pounds loss. so it's a tricky box.

I'm in a politcal thing that is taking time away from my precious doggies. A disgruntled ex-school district employee petitioned for a school district merger and got 1400 signatures. Now we have to fight it, get our own petition to file a remonstrance and I'm a chief petitioner. Eeks. The formally non-political person has converted and I admit I don't like it. But alas, it is very bad for students and I have to fight. So I was doing that last night.

Food is right on target and the doggies and I have hiked every day, including this morning.

Auntie, :carrot: on the chocolate withdrawal. It definitely sounded like the cooca bean was attacking you.

Carol, it sounds like you had a great time at the gym. That will keep you going back. Good job and the sodium in those packaged rices is enough to make the evil box angray.

Well it's the beginning of the day, and I guess all I have to say so far, is that I weighed myself and I'm 1 pound less than I was when I origionally weighed myself!! woot, 313!! I am on my period and I think that effects weight a little, but anyways, one pound is a good start if I do say so myself!
