    GOOD EVENING MAGNOLIAS

I got my place cleaned up and went through a stack of catalogues and tossed a bunch. I did the breakfast I mentioned earlier and also used a tub of Weight Watchers cream cheese spread that is 1 point for a tub plus that little thing has a whopping 3 fibers in it. Anyway it is terrific spread on top of those muffins. The container comes 8 tubs per box.

JEAN I thank you for taking your wind back. We had it today and supposed to come again tomorrow. AH but it did cool down today and we didn't have to use the conditioner at all. I do like it best with all the windows open.

DONNA Don't over do ~ I understand your wanting everything ship shape. That work will be there when you feel better and your honey is doing the best he can so I know you totally appreciate that. I remember when I hurt my back the doctor looked at my husband and told him that I wasn't able to do the down stuff, eg floors and laundry. So either get a maid or learn to do some housework chores. He didn't want to get a maid. He is a great help. At first I cringed because he wasn't doing it "my way" but learned to keep my mouth shut and his way works just fine.

GAIL How did it go at the dentist? Your little grand daughter sounds like she likes that kitchen. Maybe she will learn to cook at an early age. One can always hope. Those little ones are so much fun. We don't go to the movie either ~ wait for the DVD's. It has been so long I can't remember what the last movie we went to see was.

Well tomorrow is weigh day and I hope . . .
  • Good morning to you all. Jack is upstairs showering to go to work so I thought I would sneak in and post real quick. He sits and plays solitaire on the computer while he eats breakfast so I try not to be on the computer when he gets downstairs.

Gail: Sounds like you are kept busy with the grandkids. Hope you dgd didn't attract too much dirt yesterday. I just have to put the house out of my mind. I am a real cleannick and it is in pretty poor shape, but I know I can't do it and I am not going to expect Jack to do anything but the necessary stuff so I just have to bide my time.

Jean: Sounds like the end is near! I know you have to be looking forward to being out for the summer. Hamburgers on the grill sounds yummy. We haven't cooked out this year yet. I like food on the grill. It is sure an easier clean up.

Maggie: I think I get more catalogues than anyone. I do order a lot of stuff online, and the minute I order something I am on their catalogue list. A couple places I only ordered one thing and would never order again and am still getting their catalogues. Funniest thing is I somehow got on a new mother list, I guess from ordering baby stuff for Jackson, and now I get diaper samples and stuff like that besides baby catalogues!

It is supposed to be another hot one here today. Sure does zap Jack. He comes home looking like a withered flower. He finds me wrapped up in blankets!

    Hope your Thursday is nice!

    GOOD AFTERNOON MAGNOLIAS

Went to WW this morning and showed a maintain which was absolutely fine with me. After such a big loss for me last week I was leary that I might show a bit of a gain. Happens to me that way ~ I can stay OP and it just happens so I don't trip. But when it is a maintain I rejoice.

DONNA You are getting better each day aren't you. We don't grill when it is windy and it is just that here. I am going to bake a couple of Schwans boneless porkchops stuffed with stove top for dinner and have some corn on the cob and a green salad. And a green salad ~ I love salads and that is just a given for dinner. Growing up we always had a green salad mix at dinner and I learned to like it early on. Out here we get fresh veggies all year round.

Type at you later lovely ladies ~
  • Good evening, ladies! We are in for a beautiful weekend in the 70's and 80's, hope you are too.

Have had a busy week - boss is getting ready to go out of town for a week and he always leaves everything until the last minute.

Been planning out the work for this weekend - rearrange the family room and living room and finish cleaning the carpets. That should keep me busy for 3 or 4 days. I had Stan's ramps removed today - turned out to be rather traumatic for me.

Faye, don't rush things - keep your blindfold handy and use it! Stan used to fret, too because he thought I had too much to do but I always found the strength to do it and never gave it a second thought. I knew he would do the same for me and I'm sure Jack does too.

Jean - school's almost over! Hang in there.

Maggie and Gail, we sure have some good cooks here. We should make a cookbook for ourselves.

    Have a good evening!
  • I'm late getting in here today. I got so involved in housework, knitting, and reading. And then when DH got home we went out to get gas in my car. We paid $3.80 for a gallon of regular gas. Premium gasoline is now $4.07 a gallon. Crazy.

I went to the dentist and even though I get my teeth clean every three months, I had a cavity. The dentist said it was the smallest cavity he's ever seen. I was in the chair no more than 15 minutes. If that.

Yes, my youngest granddaughter was with me yesterday afternoon and it was difficult keeping her clean. Of all the things for me to cook for dinner last night I chose spaghetti. I had to wrap her up with a dish towel to keep the sauce of her. Somehow she managed to get a little on her. Not too bad thought. Thankfully, our church is very casual and laid back in what is worn because that's how she went! It's at the end of a cycle of bible study right now. We meet in small groups sitting at round tables. Our group has decided we are going to continue with Wednesday night bible study even though the official church bible study ends for the summer. There's about 6-8 of us in our small group and we've grown close.

Sorry, that I'm not doing personals this evening. I'm tired. But wanted to get in here and say hello.

So...I'm going off line. Hope everyone gets a good night's sleep...type at y'all tomorrow!
  • Good Evening, Flowers! I've had my nap in front of the TV and now I'm thinking seriously about going to bed. I haven't slept well the past couple of nights and feel like I'm dragging through the day. Today was the first day, of five, where we are supposed to have cooler temps, wind, and rain. It rained just enough to make a mess in the dust on the car, but it was also so gloomy and dark.

Maggie -- Congratulations on the maintain! You are doing everything right so keep up the good work. I was looking for something else and in the process put "like" catalogs together. I must have at least 20 of the smaller Penneys catalogs as well as the bigger spring/summer one. I do order from time to time. They all expire in July and August so I need to go through and pitch, pitch, pitch . . . later.

"Gma" -- It would be nice if the diaper samples were the old fashioned cotton kind. They make wonderful rags to use around the house!

Susan -- It's good that you have been busy at work. Are you "in charge" when your boss is gone? I suppose that removing Stan's ramps feels like closing another chapter in your life with Stan. Does your cat look for him?

I need to find my green (support the sports teams) shirt to wear to school tomorrow. There was a big beer party bust last weekend -- the star baseball pitcher, the elementary principal's daughter (who has grown up with partying parents), the special ed. director's son (who just got off probation!), a teacher's son, and the #1 softball catcher just to name a few. They are all 18 so their names were in the paper. There were several under the age of 18 also. They could have at least waited until after graduation!

    Have a fantastic Friday!

    Jean -- from Iowa!
