Good Morning everyone. Hope you all are having a great weekend.
A friend told me about a jogging/running workout she is doing. I checked it out. I think I can do most of it. I can do up to week 4. It will take longer to do 5 & 6. I am going to give it a hearty try. It is amazing what can spark a new interest. About 1:30am I did 45 minutes of stepping and jogging. Then I did a total of 44 wall push ups. I am ready to run errands and get some groceries. I will catch you all later. Pat |

Good Morning!!
Did I mention my family was leaving for Florida this weekend? Well my Dad decided that Mom needed a break from the kids, so she stayed home while he took the children to Florida to visit my sister Angie whose in Orlando on a mission trip. Since we were home by ourselves and Mom was occupied on the computer, I set up my laptop in front of the treadmill, and buckled down to a long workout. I ran 2.25 miles, and then, since the show I was watching wasn't over, I decided to go ahead and keep walking to 10K distance. It really wasn't that hard, and it only took me 103 mins. Unfortunately my treadmill slammed to a halt at 99:59 and almost gave me a hard attack. It seems that is as high as the time can go. Anyways, it really wasn't that difficult, though my legs did feel a little wobbly for an hour or so afterwards. Did anyone go and see The Dark Knight this weekend? I didn't want to go by myself, so I made my Mom come with me, and as she hadn't seen Batman Begins we had to watch that one first. So we watched Batman basically from 10:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m! It was a blast!! |
Monte & Miriam--I'm a headache type of girl and I don't get them on my rebounder.
Monte--Great job on the 10K! Dark Night..I'm thinking of going to see it next weekend. So if I just watch Batman Begins then I will be caught up? I will make it first on my Nextflix list so I can watch it before next Sunday. |

HI! everyone~We are having storms here now thunder, lightening, rain, and humidity out the ears. I did an hour of stepping this afternoon with some jogging sprinkled in. I weighed in this morning at 187 YEAH!! Tomorrow I hit the road taking my sister to the doctor for her wound care. I will have to see how everything fits together. Pat

Well I did my lower body & abs workout yesterday, and let me tell you my lower half is killing me! Hopefully it will warm-up and stretch out once I start running, but I'll probably make this a shorter run today, and add some extra walking instead. I'm definitely going to set my computer back up in front of the treadmill. Exercising is much more fun with Star Trek!
Pat - Great job! If you're not carefuly you're going to morph from a Reluctant Exerciser to the Exercise Lady! Keep up the good work!! Miriam - Our bodies need down times, and from what I know about teaching (my Mom homeschooled us) I bet you're burning a lot of calories teaching. Shay - That is good to know that your rebounder doesn't cause you headaches. I'm not really into exercise equipment (dumbbells & treadmill are about all I mess with), but it is nice to know your options. |
Monte~I need to morph into something!! Heavy and Homebound got me going on the stepping. It clicked. I added some other step moves to it. I do it while I am watching a baseball game. The time goes by fast if my team is winning. Now we have not heard from Heavy since 7-5. You aint doing so bad yourself!
I did an hour of stepping this afternoon. My Cubs lost!! I will do my push up challenge this evening. Hey, does any one know of an ab workout challenge going on now? I can't have a tummy bulge in my black dress! Pat |
Well, I was right! I was still sore then I started running (in fact, I still am now), so instead of trying to run the whole way, I just ran 1/4 miles, then walked the next, etc. I ended up with a total running distance of 1.75, so it wasn't too bad I guess. Today I'll be doing Week 2 Day 2 Level 1 of the 100 Pushup Challenge and my upper body strength training. I think my Mom and I will be going out to eat this evening so I'm going to need a little extra will power dust floating my way!!

Sorry I've been missing for so long. It's so fun having depression and anxiety! You know that cheescake? I only ate 1 slice, and licked the knife after cutting it. Thank GOD the rest got taken to friends! The bean dip was a diffrent story! I gained 3 lbs.! And it was so hard to get back into the swing of things again. But I finally made it out of the funk, and got the baby afgan crocheted, and started looking for good soup recipes for my DH. I made my first batch of beef stock yesterday! And yes, I am still steppin. I only missed a few days. And I still need to do again today! Hope everyone is well! |
heavyandhomebound--Good to hear from you. I think Pat was starting to get worried.
Monte--Are you ever thinking about taking your running outdoors or do you just want to stick with the treadmill? Just curious. Miriam--I'm barely moving so we can just continue to encourage each other. So my birthday is Friday and I bought myself (my mom has gotten me into the tradition of buying presents for myself, past gifts include--treadmill, laptop) a fuschia 8gb ipod nano. I'm so excited. I am such a lover of so many types of music that I know I will be motivated to sing and just get moving. I can picture myself on my treadmill, working out using my stability ball, using my weights, or even bouncing on my rebounder just singing away. |
H&H~Yes, Shay is right. I was starting to get concerned wondering where you were and how you were doing. I am so glad to here from you. I know what anxiety and depression can do. I suffer depression. My Mom battled with anxiety for years. Do you take meds for anxiety and or depression? Glad to hear you are still stepping. I am too. Please keep posting, I miss you when you don't.
Monte~Congrats for still doing your run. It would have been so easy to cave in and say to heck with it and stop. You kept on keeping on!! What weight workout are you doing? Shay~Enjoy your ipod. Let us know all about it. I have yet to do any exercise today. It has been a frustrating, did I say frustrating day. I am going to take it out on my workout. I have cardio, push ups, and crunches yet to do. I will work this mood out for the betterment of my health. I can not get into trouble doing it this way heheheeee! I will catch ya all later Pat |
