Holly
verry very good.

Mel
It's been very quiet.

Hello to the rest.

I'm tired. Tomorrow is my only day off this week. There is so much to do at home that I'm beginning to feel overwhelmed.

Shy Moment 04-25-2008 06:54 PM

di
I love I feel good by James brown and I got a new attitude by Patti LaBelle. I can really get my legs kicking to those songs. I'VE GOT A NEW ATTITUDE oh my gosh that song is me. I love myself. I love how I am working to have a nice body, a nice HEALTHY body and in turn I am losing weight. I feel good that I AM IN CONTROL not food, not anyone else MEMEME.

Hi all,
Had some internet troubles this morning and only managed to reconnect at around 3 this afternoon. So this is why you only get to hear from me now.

Went to the Body Balance class this morning. Apparently our trainer is quitting. Oh dear. Hope they find someone to replace her because I can't get to the other Body Balance class. Not that it matters because too much because I will be changing gyms at the end of my subscription anyway. I've had enough of the turmoil in this one.

Today I went down to the shed and got a some boxes back and have filled up some of the shelves in the kitchen. Nice to see some of my stuff again. I still have too much although I haven't run out of cupboard space yet.

Then I sorted the computer and got the washing done and out and back in again. I still have to fold it tho.........

Lots of things still to do. Qantas just rung me to say that there is a problem with the flight I am on and they would like to move me to an earlier one. It's not a problem I said, I will be ready to go. Are you packed yet she asked. Not likely said I. That's not my style. I'm usually still stuffing things in and chucking them out until the last possible moment.

You'll have to excuse the lack of personals at the moment. I just don't have time to think about them right now. I'm off to make a cup of tea, watch one tv program, go down to the bedroom and sort out the clothes I want to take and then figure out what goes and what I really don't need. If it wasn't for the fact that I need a couple of pairs of shoes, I would only be taking cabin baggage. Can't wear the same shoes everyday can I? And heels don't go down well in a gym (if there is one)

Anyway, I'll be back before I go in the morning to check up on the daily doings of a superb bunch of chicks. See you

MELODY525 04-26-2008 07:53 AM

MICHELLE~ WHEN I READ YOUR POSTS...THE LITTLE SONG FROM OME KIDDIES PROGRAM COMES TO MY MIND..."EXERCISE, EXERCIS, COME ON EVERYBODY DO YOUR EXERCISE"...I FORGET WHICH PROGRAM BUT JEN USED TO CALL ME INTO THE LIVINGROOM TO EXERCISE WITH HER MANY YEARS AGO! GLAD YOU FEEL BETTER AND HAPPY SHOPPING!

ANNIE...I HAVE BEEN SITTING HERE LAUGHING AT THE IRONY! I ALWAYS ENVT YOUR REGULARITY AND YESTERDAY I WAS IN THE BATHROOM SICK FOR HOURS AND NOW YOU CAN'T GO!! Ahhhhh...THE WOES OF WOMEN ON DIETS!! HOPE EVERYTHING COMES OUT IN THE END!

HOLLY~ GOOD LUCK WITH THE CONFERENCE AND GOOD THOUGHTS ARE ALWASY GREAT TO SHARE WITH AN AUDIENCE WHETHER BIG OR SMALL.

CEEJAY~ GLAD IT'S BEEN QUIET SO FAR!! :cheer2:

SHAD~ NOT TO WORRY WITH PERSONALS. WE ALL KNOW YOU'RE IN A TIME CRUNCH. HAPPY PACKING AND UNPACKING!! THAT HAS GOT TO BE CONFUSING TO YOUR POOR BRAIN!

RENNIE & MICHELLE~ SOMETIMES I WISH I HAD A MUFFIN TOP INSTEAD OF THE MATERNITY LOOK THAT I HAVE!!!!

YESTERDAY I CAME UP HERE SICK AND IN THE LOO FOR ALMOST 2 HOURS. AFTER THE LAST TRIP I HEARD SOMEONE RUNNING UP THE HALL STAIRS AND JUST KNEW IT WAS FOR ME...SAL TOLD ME IN HIS MOST PANICKY VOICE TO CALL THE COPS BECAUSE THE CONSTRUCTION MEN HAD POURED CONCRETE OVER TWO OF OUR SENIORS CARS :yikes: I CALLED THE COPS AND TOLD THEM I WAS GETTING DRESSED AND WOULD MEET THEM OUT IN THE DRIVE. SURE AS S H I T THERE WERE TWO CARS COVERED IN CONCRETE AND GETTING FRANTICALLY HOSED DOWN ALREADY BY THE MEN THAT DID IT WHILE THE OTHERS WERE SCOOPING IT UP WITH SHOVELS TO KEEP IT ALL FROM GOING DOWN OUR STORM DRAIN! WHAT A SITE. ALL OF A SUDDEN I BEGAN LAUGHING AND TRIED TO KEEP IT HIDDEN. BUT THE MEN STARTED LAUGHING TOO AND WE ALL PISSED THE SENIORS OFF. LATER I HAD TO SPEND TIME WITH THEM IN THE LOBBY TO SHOW THEM THE HUMOR. IT LOOKED LIKE SOMETHING OUR OF LAUREL AND HARDY MOVIE...THEN WE ALL LAUGHED.
SAL AND I FOUND CEMENT IN ONE POOR MANS TRUNK AND DOORJAMBS SO WE BOTH CLEANED OFF THE REST OF HIS MESS WITH OUR RAGS. HE'S RATHER OLD AND REALLY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. THE WOMAN ALSO WAS OVERWHELMED.
I JUST TRULY WONDER WHY ALL THIS CRAP HAPPENS ON FRIDAY'S WELL AFTER CLOSING TIME AND FALLS INTO MY LAP??? DOES THE HEAD OF THE LAWS OF B*LL**** COMMITTEE THINK NO ONE ELSE CAN DEAL WITH IT AND SETS THE CLOCK FOR 4:15? :faint: EVEN THE COPS INVOLVED ASKED ME A SIMILAR QUESTION CAUSE IT'S ALWAYS ME THAT CALLS AND ALWAYS ME THEY HAVE TO HELP. I TOLD THEM I HAVE A BLACK CLOUD OVER MY HEAD AND CAN'T THE SEE IT???? :rain:
OTHER THAN THAT....I FEEL BETTER AND THE CULPRIT OF MY DILEMMA WAS ABOUT 2-3 TBS EACH OF MACARONI & POTATO SALAD.
THERE WAS A BABY SHOWER AND I MANNED THE PHONES SO THE OFFICE COULD GO. THEY BROUGHT ME OUT A PLATE OF LITTLE "TASTES" WITH EVERYONE SWEARING THAT IT WAS ALL HOMEMADE BY THE FAMILY......NOT!
FROM NOW ON, I WILL JUST SAY THANKS AND THROW IT INTO THE GARBAGE. I CAN'T SEEM TO GET ANYONE TO LISTEN AND RATHER THAN GET A LOT OF PEOPLE UPSET AND HURT FEELINGS AND ME SICK...IT'S JUST EASIER TO TOSS IT OUT WHEN NO ONE IS LOOKING. I HAVE LEARNED ONE THING...MY "SENSITIVITIES" ARE REALLY BECOMING STRONGER AND I AM REACTING MUCH FASTER JUST LIKE ONE OF THE EYE DOCTORS SAID THEY WOULD. WHAT TOOK 3 HOURS IS DOING IT IN LESS THAN ONE NOW. SCARY AND VERY PAINFUL. LIKE BEING POISONED. I WONDER IF THE SCALE WILL SHOW AN IMPROVEMENT THIS WEEKEND

SORRY FOR THE RAMBLING ON.
HAPPY SATURDAY AND ENJOY YOUR WEEKENDS EVERYONE!! :moped:

Melody
Against my wishes lol we are going clothes shopping today. I put on my summer shirts from last year and the hubby laughed. He said oh my gosh you look 4 months preggy in those shirts. What size are they lol. I told him xl he said umm dear lets try some mediums lol.

happy2bme 04-26-2008 11:10 AM

Good morning chicks,

Sorry I didn't get here yesterday. Crazy busy day. As is the weekend. I can't spend much time here, DH and I are off to our walking program in an hour - he wants to do it but was not pleased it was in the middle of the day. We're getting crunched with lots of home things to do. He wants to get some projects done before we go pick up Mom in 4 weeks for a visit. So to quickly catch up...

Shy - I don't understand the folks that hate clothes shopping. I'd do it for you but I'd have to keep the clothes - lol

:grouphug: - hugging my friends down under including Mel's friend who doesn't know why she's getting squeezed at the moment

Thank you for the good wishes Mel. I am looking forward to the start of my golden year.

As for you - horrors on the cement fiasco. :yikes: You sure lead an adventurous life. You should write a book - Madcat and I will help you edit it. As for the food - I would gently decline and tell people you have food allergies which cause your throat to swell up and make breathing difficult. You can't risk eating food that you don't know how it's prepared. Yes, it's a little white lie BUT there's just something about food and alchohol that people feel compelled to pressure people about. And it's not entirely a lie because it does make you quite ill. It's just that only the most foolish person would keep pressing if you said you can't breathe. Hope your weekend is quieter than Friday was :faint:

Shad - hope you have safe travels. I sort of agree with you on the last minute packing - the longer you have to pack - the more stuff you think you need to take. When it gets down to the wire - one is much more efficient  Shame about losing your trainer but if you were going to change gyms anyway... Perhaps you will find her again down the road.

Ceejay - don't forget to have an hour or two of day off time while you're trying to catch up with all the chores at home. We really need THREE weekend days off - real bummer when you get cheated out of a day.

Good luck with the conference Holly.

Michelle - not sure that we'll ever get rid of the muffin top without the help of surgery since the loose skin seems to accumulate there. One guy I work with lost 180 pounds (or so he claims) and he wore too large of a shirt. He actually got gaunt looking at one point but I was shocked to see how much of a muffin top he had - the reason for the too large shirt size trying to cover it up. I was amused by the girls on 3FC who have commented that their goal was to get their boobs to stick out farther than their belly  I will try and come up with some music suggestions for you - don't have enough time right now.

Annie - I had to laugh at Mel's comment of balance in the poop world (sorry if tmi) of one can't go and the other is innundated  Hope you are feeling better. Rest up this weekend.

Ok, I have more to say but I need to get ready to go as DH will be down in a minute looking for me.

Enjoy your weekend ladies!

upswife 04-26-2008 11:30 AM

Happy Saturday Ladies!!!

Madcat 04-26-2008 12:37 PM

Quick driveby for me. We're having 15 people over for sushi and sake tonight and I just found out that public transit has gone on strike as of last midnight last night. Not sure how people are even going to get here now. Driving really isn't an option since parking is almost non-existant in this neighbourhood and we strongly warned people not to dive if they were sake-ing anyway... Arggg!! and Poo!! And we still have the whole apartment to clean and I better get to it. Wish me luck guys and I'll be back later if everything gets done on time.

Shad 04-26-2008 03:56 PM

Morning all,
Quickie from me as I am about to hit the road shortly and there are things to do and see. Qantas rang me late last night to request that I travel earlier than planned since they have a problem with my flight to Sydney and can not guarantee the connection so I agreed to an hour earlier. So I don't have time to muck around now. I'll be able to get on line from Sydney airport anyway.

So the time has finally arrived and I'm off to Jakarta. Better go pack that phrase book before I forget.

Oh and another thing I can't forget either..........

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...thballoons.gif

Have a very happy birthday Happy and enjoy your special day.

annie175 04-26-2008 04:32 PM

Good Afternoon My Dears.......

Well, well, after 4 days on non-pooing, can't seem to get it stopped now. Went to bed at 5:30 yesterday when getting home from work and did not get up till 7:30 this morning. Feeling a bit better, chest is heavy as if someone is sitting on it. (and he is not very handsome either, haha) Coughing somewhat too! Start Augmenten (antibotic) last night, hope it helps.

Good news to Rennie and Diyana..the muffin top is not a urban legend. It definitely goes away with enough weight loss. I no longer have the muffin top, just a bit of a saggy arse, boobs (i.e. the C-D longs) and slight batwings. Beats the H out of ginormous body however. The great feeling of movement without strain is definitely a plus....like tying my shoes and wiping my arse in ease.

Diyana...any kind of old rock n roll or disco is great to music to work out to, however I have not worked out much to remember. Altho I love to dance around the house to it. My kids call me a "dork". The "Got a New Attitude" song is great. One of my BFs got me a music card with a pretty lady on the front and when opening the card the "Got a new Attitude" song played. She got me the card right after my bariatric surgery.

MEL...OMG the cement fiasco sounds hilarious. It sounds like how my days go. Poor seniors, however glad they are now laughing.

Shad...Girl you need to slow down and catch up with yourself. Holy crap woman. You definitely need a "Me" or "You" day. Take it moment by moments. Hugs...

Madcat....arg and POO, oh don't say poo around me and MEL....we have such trying times in that department. First, 4 days of non poo then I have the trots today. Poor Mel spent 2 hours in the toitie yesterday. I have always had pooper problems even before bariatric surgery and dieting. Stomach issues too, always a nervous stomach, and car sick to boot. Such a card, I am.

Hollybelle...Great speach, so true, so true, hope all was receptive and a great audience.

UPS...hey girl, glad you stopped in. Hope all is good in your world today.

Happy.....How's the walking program going? Wish I had an "at home" person who would walk and talk with me. All the dog does is bark at other dogs. Not much company. I tried barking back at her, she just sat down and look at me. Ummm, don't know bout that.

May go to the movies tonight with DD. DS has been staying at his dad's this week helping him out with his butt issue. Ex tore a muscle in his arse hole (spincter-sp) Told ex that is what he gets for...well..you know...hahahha. DS comes home tomorrow. Good thing front yard needs cut.

Guess I have babbled enough....hello to all I may have missed....

Have a wonderful evening.

Love and hugs

Ooohhh
You can dance, you can Jive,
having the time of your life
Oooohhhh
See that girl, watch that scene, digging the Dancing Queen

Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for a place to go
Where they play the right music, getting in the swing
You come to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
The night is young and the music's high
With a bit of rock music, everything is fine
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance...

You are the Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only seventeen
Dancing Queen, feel the beat from the tambourine (oh-yea)
You can dance, you can Jive
having the time of your life
Oooohoo See that girl, watch that scene, digging the Dancing Queen

You're a teaser, you turn 'em on
Leave them burning and then you're gone
Looking out for another, anyone will do
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance...

You are the Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only seventeen
Dancing Queen, feel the beat from the tambourine (oh yea)
You can dance, you can Jive
Oh having the time of your life
ohh ooh ee that girl, watch that scene, digging the Dancing Queen
(repeat once)

Am I Late??? Happy B-day Happy!!!

Feelling better tonight, this MS is killing me, but much better to have it. On Thursday I was not sick at all, and I got so worried...even called DH at work. Going into week 6 here, so keep holding your breath. I have a feeling I will be shopping for new maternity clothes soon. (was a smaller size the last time I was preggers! Well, off for Saturday night baths for the kiddies one down and two to go...I am on the drying end tho...My DH has been so good to me!

Shad 04-27-2008 12:16 AM

Sitting here in the Qantas Business Lounge at Sydney and feeling completely bored with life. They keep coming around to give you food and drink and I am determined that this time I will be good - and have been so far. Another 20 minutes and I can go to the gate and hopefully QF41 will depart on time for Jakarta. Just about every other flight has been delayed, why not mine? Of course I could go down to the shopping centre and be bedazzled by the duty free stuff - which is not cheap. No point in buying simply for the sake of it. Unlike Rennie who should be celebrating her new wardrobe and the hard work she has put in to get there. What a nice man to suggest taking his wife shopping!!!

Annie, I hope you are over the worst of it now. Is this a by-product of the procedure you had?

Mel - you too. Seems that food choices are going to be very narrow based for you in the future. Pity cos I thought I might come to NY and take you out to the most expensive eatery in town!! Oh yeah!! :lol3:
Thank you for the hug - although Shaker might come down on you like a ton of bricks for that sentiment. NZ and Aus are different!!!!!!!

Happy - hope you are going out to a nice dinner and show tonight. Please not deep fried pickles!!!!! If it has to be deep fried, go for the caviar or smoked salmon - what sacrilege!!!

Madcat - hope the Saki - Sushi went off okay. Geez I would like that!!! I'd walk or bike just to get there for the big occasion. What were you celebrating - it's not wedding anniversary yet is it????

Okay - they have just called my flight. I'd better take the long walk down to the gate. See you!

MELODY525 04-27-2008 07:48 AM

BETTER GO OUT AND GET A BAZOOKA AND SHOOT THAT SUCKER!!! I LOV

ELLEN~ HOPE THE MS GETS BETTER AS THE DAYS GO BY...I HAD IT FOR 6 MOS WITH JEN!! GLAD THE DH IS BEING SO GOOD! TAKE GREAT CARE OF YOURSELF! <----THAT'S AN ORDER:rollpin: ( i like to be bossy) I KEEP FORGETTING TO ASK WHEN YOUR BIRTHDAY IS??

:cofdate: IT IS SOOOO DARK AND DAMP THIS MORNING. I SLEPT WELL LAST NIGHT. I DO LOVE THE RAIN WHEN SLEEPING.
IT HAS BEEN QUIET SINCE FRIDAY'S FIASCO AND I'M VERY HAPPY. NOTHING NEW HERE. STILL WATCHING TV, DOING BILLS, SHREDDING AND SORTING.
HAPPY SUNDAY :moped:

happy2bme 04-27-2008 11:44 AM

Good morning chicks,

Thank you very much for the birthday wishes. This is my "golden year" and I intend to make the most of it. Either that or we'll refute the rumor of it being so golden

Yesterday DH and I went on our walking program. Good thing he and I decided to take the path ourselves and not wait for the group. As we were returning, the group was slowly headed towards it. As we suspected it was a bunch of very senior citizens. We chatted a moment with the lady who organized the thing and you could see the restlessness of the group. One lady in a lovely pantsuit and straw hat was loudly complaining - haven't we walked a quarter mile yet, when will we get to a quarter mile, it seems like we've walked an entire mile so far, are you sure you marked the walking path, did we stray off the path, do you know where we're going? Ah to be 80  All the while I thought of poor Mel and what she must go through. Anyway it's a nice program and I intend to keep up with it. We got a list of all the walking trails in town - I didn't realize there were so many.

Afterwards we came home, ate lunch and worked outside in the yard sweeping, bending, pulling weeds, raking leaves, lifting, toting and hauling for 4 hours. So yesterday was a good workout. And the yard looks much better. Until it rains today and the wind blows more schmutz on the ground

Today we are going to pick out paint for the exercise room. We'll go up to the mall to pick up my glasses and see if they made them right this time. Then we'll head over to the kitties for a few hours. DH had picked a nice restaurant to take me to dinner tonight but when he called to make reservations for today, they said they are closed on Sunday. It was too late to get dressed to make Saturday dinner so we will try another place instead. I'm still debating if I want to wait and just go to the other restaurant tomorrow night.

Anyway DH is giving me the "when are you going to be ready" Tarzan call so that means I need to do my best Edith Bunker "coming Archie" run through the house. Not really but you know how impatient guys are and it just seems that way.

Madcat - hope your dinner party survived the transportation disaster. That really stinks.

Shad - hope you have safe travels. We look forward to your travel commentary from yet another place where most of us never were. Best wishes on the new job.

Hope Mel, Annie and Ellen are feeling more perky.

What's with the pic of the letter Mel?

Snakes Ceejay? Another reason not to work in the yard

Ok gotta run - to those I missed

annie175 04-27-2008 12:50 PM

Ahhh, good morning, eh, afternoon, my friends....

Love the Dancing Queen, MEL. Happy Happy.....

Went shopping with DD instead of the movie. Bought a Tankini. Looks ok. Will I ever feel like I look good in a bathing suit, I doubt it. Weigh one thing, see myself as a fatty. Oh well. Got two new purses. It was buy one at reg price get the second one for 88 cents at JC Penney. I love love love bags and purses. Starting to like shoes too. Bought a new pair of stiletto, black, part shiney part dull black, very cute. IF a size 10 foot can look good in shoes, hahahahahaha. Got two new shirts too, for work. Very cute. Spent 150 bucks I didn't need to, as I have to get my license plates for car by Tuesday at 170 bucks. I have gone completely bonkers.

The pooper is partly because of procedure the other part because I have always has pooper and tummy issues.

Oh and I bought the cutest little 0-3 month size pink bathing suit with butterfly appliques for my Goddaughter who is due in August. The little one, who is a girl to be named OLIVIA ANNE...will not get to wear it much, but could not resist.

Best get lunch on the table. Made a new cheesey spinach potato casserole...yum.

Have a marvy Sunday.

Love and Hugs

Shad 04-27-2008 10:42 PM

Morning all,
Salam I should say. Arrived here last night and stood in queues for a couple of hours until I got the visa, the passport stamps, the instructions and finally the suitcase and yet another xray. Took three hours from leaving the plane until I saw the hotel room. Anyway, I bummed about for a bit and then went to bed with a book and woke up this morning.
It's an interesting place. The restaurant this morning seemed to have more staff than patrons, but the menu was interesting. You could have cereal stuff, fruit stuff, toast stuff, Japanese style breakfast or what looked like dinner. Interesting way to get around the no pork rule - beef bacon!!!! Reminds me of Happy's deep south where you cook it and then deep fry it. There doesn't appear to be much in the low fat variety, but I'll just have to try to find a way around it. You'd have laughed yourself silly with the chefs hats. First thing that sprung to mind was Bart Simpson! They looked like they had a fancy paper bag on their heads. And they are so short that all I could see at one stage was a moving paper bag behind a pyramid of Oranges and Apples.
The hotel room is nice - very Art Deco design and clap your hands and hey presto, whatever you desire is presented - well not quite but nearly. You do have to use the telephone to order it. And if they don't quite understand what you require, then they bring everything they can think of that you might like!!!
Changed some money this morning. $100 Aud = 841,700 Indonesian Rupiahs. Considering that a steak costs around 300 Rupiah, I could do quite a lot of eating here. Even the Wagyu beef steak (very expensive in Aus) is only double the price (about $6.00 Aus) I'm sure I will find something to eat.
They are building a new skyscraper right opposite my room in the hotel. I'm not too sure about their building standards! and remind me never to stand anywhere underneath a building under construction. On the floor opposite my room there has been a delivery of parts and stuff. It is hanging out over the edge of the dock. A good puff of wind would probably send it over the edge and down onto anyone having a puff of a ciggie down below.

It's warm here too. Around 28C and very hazy. I'll try to get some photos in the next couple of days and show them off when I get home. Traffic is AWFUL and you don't walk on the pavements - no wonder everything is underground (shopping malls etc.) Only thing is when moving from one building to another there is metal detectors and security checking your bag and stuff - no blown up Shaddie allowed apparently. They just try to kill you with uneven pavements instead.

So better go and see what gives in the Corporate world and get some water into me. Oh yes and the room has a scale in the bathroom. According to it, I weigh 5K less than the scale at home. How I WISH!!!

Shy Moment 04-28-2008 01:55 AM

Shad
Enjoy yourself all you can, relax a bit and eat something you have never tried before :)

Annie
I did a bit of shopping over the weekend too. Hubby insisted. I hate shopping lol. Found 2 pairs of pants that fit great size 10. Two pairs of Capri's that fit like Capri's instead of high water pants size 10 and 8 shirts. Total cost less than 30 dollars at 3 different good wills. The two pairs of pants still had the tags on them lol. I got one pair for 3 dollars tag said 60 and the other pair for 2 dollars tag said 169 dollars. Oh vanity sizing don't we love it. They can call them size 10 all they like. They are 12's lol.

Happy
Sounds like you had a very busy happy weekend.

Cee
I thought they were put in the yard for us to sharpen our blades on lol

Melody
I fond all kinds of stuff. Spent twice as much money on my daughter 4 new tops than I did on everything I bought for myself lol. Glad you had a good nites sleep. I love to hear rain when I am going to sleep.

Annie
Glad to know it goes away. I don't have a lot of extra skin but I do have a bit. I worry less about the little muffin top I have than I do about the bat wings lol. Because of my IBS I am the one that can't stop going, usually 20 times a day. Oh but not for the last 2 days. I don't go soon I am going to explode lol. My chest feels heavy too. I don't feel better tomorrow I will call the doc Tuesday. I never let things go more than a couple of days if they hit my lungs.

Mad
Hope things worked out and people got to come.

MELODY525 04-28-2008 07:38 AM

HAPPY~ DID YOU WAIT FOR THE RESTAURANT? THE POSTCARD (LETTER) PICTURE WAS FOR SHAD BECAUSE I TOLD HER TO WRITE SOON! :write: TOO BAD THE WALKING CLUB HAS WHINERS. I BET A LOT OF THEM DO. GLAD YOU BOTH GOT GOING BEFORE THEY CAME!!!

ANNIE~ SOMETIME SHOPPING IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL  THE CHOICES AND SALES SOUNDED VERY NICE!

SHAD~ BUY OR STEAL THAT SCALE AND BRING IT HOME!! FINALLY A SCALE A GAL CAN LOVE  YES PLEASE DO NOT STAND NEAR ANY CONSTRUCTION SITES!! WE DON'T WANT YOU COVERED IN CEMENT EITHER! :lol3: I CANNOT IMAGINE WHAT IT MUST BE LIKE TO WAKE UP AND KNOW THAT THIS IS "HOME" FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS. HOPE YOU FIND SOME FOOD YOU LIKE. ENJOY YOUR INVESTIGATING OF THE AREA!!

RENNIE~ AIN'T THAT ALWAYS THE WAY? I ALWAYS SPEND MORE ON THE KIDS THEN I DO FOR MYSELF!

:rain: AND MORE :rain: EVEN THE GRANDSON IS QUIETLY WATCHING TV AND DOZING. ONCE AND AWHILE YOU HEAR A LITTLE "CHEEP" CAUSE THE KEYBOARD IS KEEPING HIM AWAKE! I CANCELLED THE MALL TRIP. I WOULD JUST BE SHOPPING & SITTING FOR ALMOST 5 HOURS IN DAMP CLOTHES AND IT'S NOT ALL THAT HOT OUT WITH THE WIND. I ALSO HAVE TO MEET WITH THE OFFICE AND FILL OUT A REPORT FOR THE CONCRETE POURING. BETTER GET SOME BREAKFAST AND NOT FACE THEM ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.
HAPPY MONDAY AND HOPE WE ALL HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

diyana 04-28-2008 08:42 AM

Good morning ladies -

First off, a very Happy Belated Birthday to Happy! I'm so sorry I didn't get to check in this weekend to wish you an on-time Happy Birthday!

Busy weekend with MIL. Went clothes and food shopping on Saturday and literally shopped 'till we dropped. Didn't buy too much though. And I didn't get my size 14 capris, since I couldn't squeeze myself into them in the store. The good news is that when I got home from work on Friday (prior to shopping on Saturday), I went through all my "too small" clothes that I just packed away in a box in the basement and found several pairs of size 16 work pants that fit. Yay! And a pair of size 14 shorts that I was able to squeeze myself into - they weren't comfortable, but they did close  - so hopefully not too much longer for the size 14s. :)

Yesterday was supposed to be cold and rainy/snowy. But since it was sunny, we took a drive out to the country, which was nice. I missed the gym both days due to sharp pains I was having in my stomach...they were really bad on Friday night, better but still bad on Saturday and still bothersome on Sunday. But I'm feeling much better today. I'm thinking the sharp stomach pains might've been from eating a bit of greasy food for dinner on Friday (I had 2 onion rings and about 5 french fries for the first time in 3 months) and then zipping up shorts that were really tight.

Rennie - Thanks for the song suggestions! Those are great! YGG for your new attitude! I've got a new attitude same as you. And it's wonderful. I'm loving how I'm feeling, I'm lowing how in control I am over food rather than the other way 'round. You definitely found some great bargains! Good for you!

Shad - Sorry to hear about your trainer at the gym quitting. I hope your new gym provides the classes you want at convenient times with good instructors and less turmoil! Not too much to ask for considering what gym memberships cost. I hope your time in Jakarta is enjoyable. I cracked up at your Bart Simpson chefs hats moving about on their own behind the fruit! Too Funny! Do be careful walking around, okay?

Mel - you really had some excitement on Friday! I can see the humor in it, but what a mess! And being sick besides! I sure hope you're feeling a lot better now. I agree with Happy - gently decline and say you have food allergies.

Happy - I hear ya about the loose skin. I'm really hoping that mine shrinks back. I hope you enjoyed your walk. Is your Mom coming for a short visit or a long visit? where does she live? Wow you really did have a great workout on Saturday with all the walking and the yard work! You cracked me up with the "coming archie" comment! It sounds like you had a very nice birthday shopping, visiting kitties and dinner.

Madcat - I hope your sushi and sake gathering was fun. Bummer about the public transit strike.

Annie - I'm so sorry that your feeling lousy. I hope the antibiotic helps. Thanks for the song suggestion! And you're not a "dork" for dancing around to that song. It's a great song!

CeeJay - a snake in your yard....That would definitely startle me! :yikes: I normally don't mind snakes, but not if they "sneak" up on me like laying around in the yard.

Ellen - Glad that your DH is helping you take good care of yourself. :)

Well, ladies, I'd better get to work.

 to those I missed and big hugs to everyone,

upswife 04-28-2008 08:57 AM

morning ladies! Just checking in...I may not post, but I am reading. Feeling so tired, and pukey. Taking it one day at a time...but it looks like going to the gym is off the table for a little while, as being in the car makes it worse.

Luv and hugs to all!!!

Hello Ladies,

Have been sick lately. This weather is hot one day and cold the next. My alleriges are driving me crazy. On the good not I have been trying to "Declutter" my house as Mooz to use say. I have throw away 1boxe of trash and have about 2 boxes for charity.

Happy Belated B-DAY to Shad and to Happy. Hope you all had a great day.

Ellen - hope you get to felling better.

Diyana - WTG on that smaller size. You are doing great...YOU GO GIRL...

Shad - I think I would probably lose weight If I went to Jakarta. I'm not much for trying new foods.

Shy - sounds like you found some good shopping deals too.

Hello to everyone else...

diyana 04-28-2008 02:19 PM

Hey Patty - It's great to hear from you! Sorry to hear you've been sick. In my house, decluttering raises lots of dust that wreaks havoc on my allergies/sinuses. But good for you for clearing out the clutter! I hope you feel better soon.

I was so mad. We were suppose to go to the zoo this weekend. In the morning it was raining. Forecast rain alllllllllllllll day. We called off the plans for the zoo that we had with a bunch of people. Wouldn't you know it. Was beautiful the whole darn day lol. ATTITUDE really does make a difference. Even when the weight loss doesn't go our way. We just have to stand up tall and move on.

ups
All you can do is take it one day at a time. I sure hope this all passes very quickly for you.

Patty
I am the biggest cheap skate in the world. lol if I won the lottery and had millions of dollars, I would still shop at good will :) Sorry you haven't been feeling well. This is really bad allergy time for me it seems. Just think this too shall pass. I was surprised I was able to wear some 10's some 11's. Vanity sizing lol, we all know those 10s and 11s are at least 12s in disguise lol.

Melody
I grew up so darn poor we never had anything. I really try to make sure she has different things to wear. The kid never asks for a thing.

happy2bme 04-29-2008 01:24 AM

Hey everyone,

Rennie - that's a bummer about the zoo. We started our walking program on Saturday and earlier in the week they had been predicting strong storms. Fortunately the weather held out enough so that it was sunny during the afternoon. Goes to show you, sometimes you can't trust the weather but when you have to make plans in advance, what can you do? Maybe the next trip will be the charm.

Thanks Patty - I think the weather is conspiring to make us all sick too. I don't remember it being so rollercoast warm and cold, up and down. Hope you feel better.

Same to you too Ellen. My niece just had a baby 2 weeks ago - was plagued by MS all through the pregnancy - but had a quick and easy delivery - so maybe there's a trade off somewhere?

Ruthie - how are you doing with that knee?

Michelle - I do believe that some pants are really good at crunching the innards (do I sound southern  ) and making for some icky gas and tummy pains. Good that you could recycle some pants back into circulation. You'll be in those capris in no time!

Mel - yes, we did hold out for the nice restaurant tonight. At first I wasn't sure when I looked at the menu - it's quite foofy - but the flavors were incredible. I'm not much of a meat person but had the filet of beef only because there were items on the fish dishes that even I had never heard of. The beef was fabulous with some complimentary sauces and DH gave me his baby asparagus so I had a double serving. We split a creme brulee and because it was my birthday, he let me have more of the carmelized crunchy sugar topping. The waiter even gave us the dessert free and put a candle in the dish - so sweet. It was a good meal that I enjoyed. And of course a glass of wine to toast the chicks  As for you young lady - sorry you cancelled your mall trip but you know what's best for you. Good heavens, does the grandson go to sleep with the sunset? Now you can't type either - just meditate and yell at cute guys out your window

Shad - I enjoyed your commentary. Sounds like you will be able to eat rather cheaply. Hope you can find things that suit your palate and the diet. It is safe to walk around the area? Please be careful with the construction :yikes:

Annie - I envy the fact that you can wear stillettos and a tankini. I tried the tankini after my sister raved about them but they seem to roll up on me and I have a boob-kini - think shade rolling up the window, flapping away. I'm sure you look fabulous. Isn't it something how the brain distorts the body image? I guess you have to believe not what you see, but what good friends tell you to be the truth! 170 bucks for plates for ONE car? :faint: I'm not complaining anymore.

Let's see, gas is going up, groceries are climbing, taxes are being raised and our paychecks are shrinking because they say there's no money for raises. Do you all feel the squeeze too? I dragged DH to the grocery store after dinner - much to his disgust but he went along with it. I was trying to hurry through the aisles and only get the most basic essentials - like furry mice for the homeless kitties to play with  At one point he said we will have to start eating more rice if things go up any more. I said to myself (how would you know what things cost because you don't grocery shop) and I said out loud - I hear that people are stock piling rice because the price is rising rapidly so if you want us to save money we have to pick something cheaper to eat like the wild green onions that keep growing out front in our hosta plants.

Oh buggers - look at the time - I should have been in bed an hour ago. That's what happens when I get to babbling. Good night ladies. Sleep well.

Shad 04-29-2008 01:46 AM

Hello all,

Another smoggy day in old Jakarta town. Not that I get to go out in it much but we did go out last night to the next door mall and get an Italian dinner. Funny money over here. I changed $100AUD and got 842700 rupiah as I think I told you but the dinner cost 230000 each so I guess all is relevant. Have you ever seen a restaurant bill that comes to 1,444,230? It's getting close to lunch time here. Yesterday we went to a place called the Boiling Pot. It was okay but not great. I think the Chicken gave itself up instead of waiting to be caught. It was a really scrawny leg. Soup was nice even if I don't know what was in it apart from some green leafy stuff. I gave my chillies to the SA bloke on the team who loves them dearly, but even he had a surfiet of them yesterday lunch time I think.

This morning I went down to breakfast and looked in the hot pots and there were some beef and vege hash, fillet steak and mushrooms, chicken and onions, herbed tomatoes and scrambled egg along with a mush that I had no idea about. It looks like warm wallpaper paste and about as sticky. So I had the vege hash, tomato and a bit of egg. Well forget the egg, the hash was nice, the tomatoes had chilli as well as the herb and cheese. I don't think I have eaten chilli for breakfast before. I could of course have gone Japanese and had Miso soup, rice and cod on the hibachi. Yesterday I was awfully hungry all day, but really couldn't eat all my dinner last night. Today I think I'm back to normal as far as the appetite goes. I might go see if I can find a muffin or sandwich for my lunch. There has to be some place around here that makes them. I feel a bit like the mole that lives underground searching all these places in the basement.

Happy - give DH the list and let him decide on what you are going to eat! That should stifle the groans somewhat.

And with that, I had better go search out the sandwiches. I'll be back.

diyana 04-29-2008 08:27 AM

Good morning ladies -

I feel great! I had an awesome step class workout last night followed by a fabulous strength training class. And MIL made a scrumptious spaghetti with meatballs for our dinner - which was ready when I got home from the gym. Yummm!

Rennie - That's really a shame about the zoo. Hopefully you'll get a nice day to go soon. I shop at Goodwill too, but I can never seem to find anything. Maybe now that I'm getting into slightly smaller sizes there will be more options for me at Goodwill. I agree....attitude is everything. When the numbers don't show on the scale, I know that I'm doing well based on how I great I'm feeling!

Happy - Your new avatar is adorable! I think the size 14 shorts did a number on my innards because I had to lay on the bed and stop breathing in order to zip them up and then I kept them on for about 15 minutes. Probably made my innards feel like they were in a vice. Combine that with the greasy food and the fact that I did A LOT of isometric ab tightening exercises during the day. Probably a combination of all three. I will definitely think twice about having super greasy food though. I'm so glad you have a wonderful dinner at the restaurant you wanted to go to. Filet, asparagus, creme brulee -- yummy! Good for you! And I heartily believe that as we get older, 1 day is just not enough time to celebrate our birthdays - I believe in birthday months! Or at least birthday weeks! I totally cracked up at the boob-kini comment! That's what happens to me too! I can't believe how much gas and groceries are going up. My MIL says we're still way cheaper than California where they pay well over $4.00/gallon for gas and for milk! Even the produce is a little cheaper here (rather than in the state where it is grown! :dunno: ) DH and I are definitely feeling the squeeze. Luckily I have found a couple women who work in the same building and live close to me to carpool with. It may only be 2 or 3 days a week at first, but every little bit helps. I thought I got an okay raise this year, of course inflation is nearly double what my raise was. And my freelance website creation work has really decreased. Oh well, hopefully it will be better when it gets warmer and I can grow some veggies.

Shad - Jakarta is smoggy? Yuck! I hate smog. I do not for one minute miss the smoggy polluted skies of Silicon Valley California. My asthma is so, so much better since we moved to wisconsin where the skies are blue and not brown. The currency there is wild! A million and a half rubiah restaurant tab! :yikes: Good luck finding sandwiches, muffins and food without chili. :)

Mel - I hope the rain goes away for you so you can go play in the sunshine!

Gotta get to work - Hi to everyone I missed!

Let's all have a terrific Tuesday!

Hugs,

happy2bme 04-29-2008 08:48 AM

Good morning ladies,

Great workout Michelle. Isn't it just a little bit of heaven to come home to dinner already cooked for you? :cloud9:  My mom does that too tho she doesn't cook much any more but it is nice coming home and having her there. Can't wait - a few more weeks for me. Arnold Schwarzengegger was talking the other night about the early days of LA when the dark cloud of all the exhaust and pollution would hang over the sky. I remember visiting and seeing that - a far cry from the surfer beach boy persona. And those crazy Santa Anna winds too. You are probably in one of the best places for your breathing issues.

Mel - I did the froggie for you and Carla and Madcat too I think. Hope you get some sunshine up your way. I'd send you some but we're not having much here too. It's trying to rain again so we're overcast. DH said they are talking about an extra nasty mosquito season soon. :yikes: Had to laugh about your comments of them taking your wheels and license away from you. Stay warm and dry buddy - glad you didn't press your handprints into the cement - Mel's own plaque on the walk of fame

Shad - ohhhh you are pointing out all the reasons I don't like to travel. Sounds like the food would be giving me a horrid time with an achy stomach. The cement stuff sounds like grits tho grits are rather grainy and runny - but if you don't like the stuff in the first place... Hope you can find some down home cooking somewhere. Isn't it funny how you can't find just basic grains, fruits and vegetables.

And with that I have to be on with the day. to the rest of the worldly chicks. Happy day!

Madcat 04-29-2008 11:01 AM

Happy!!!

:woo::woo::woo::woo::gift::woo::woo::woo::woo:
Happy Belated B-day. Hope it was great!:celebrate::celebrate:
(Sorry I missed it. Hangs Head in Shame)

And you are right, I love the Froggie Cat!

diyana 04-29-2008 11:03 AM

Happy, you are so right! It is wonderful coming home and having dinner already prepared! One reason I also like crock pot cooking. Of course, like you, I'm just glad to have her here. She is such a loving, warm, "mom" presence in the home. I wish she'd stay with us year 'round, but she'd miss her other kids and her grandkids that live in California. How long will your mom be staying with you?

Los Angeles used to be much more polluted than it is now. Unfortunately Silicon Valley is often even more polluted than LA. It's really gross when you fly into San Jose, CA and see the brownish orange sky. Yuck.

Your froggie kitten is just so cute! I can't get over it. Makes me smile each time I see it. Thanks!

1day@atime 04-29-2008 01:47 PM

Hello Ladies,

Shad - Do you want us to send you some food? I love to travel, but I need to be prepared on where i go. I can't eat spicy, don't like much fish..I can do veggies, rice, pastas... etc.

Diyana - Sounds like you have got your routine down. No wonder your losing the weight. I hear ya about the prices. I'm single and i've noticed a increase in my budget. I don't see how families can afford food. I take the train into downtown, so I only have to drive about 16 miles roundtrip which is good cause I have an explorer.

Happy - your dinner sounded wonderful. Oh, and there is a limit here on rice at Sam's and at Cosco's.

Mel - hope you get good weather today.

As for me had my morning workout, my food has been good... I need to get that water in though.

diyana 04-29-2008 02:15 PM

Good for you, Patty, for getting your workout in and making sure you're eating healthy! We've got to get our water in though....so let's  with our water to good friends and healthy habits!

I had the opposite problem this time. They had GREAT clothes in sizes 1x to 3x. I mean a ton of great clothes. Maybe some lucky lady lost a lot of weight. Sometimes I go in and find nothing, sometimes one or two things. I just go back once a week and see what I can find. I have a couple right by my house. The one I go to on Wednesday because they have two colored tags that are 50% off what ever the price is on the garment. The other place I go to on Thursday because it is 50 cent day and almost everything is priced 50 cents lol.

Melody
Most of the stores have taken out their lay a way. This killed me. That was the way I could afford to get my kids stuff. At least you are going to get to drive until you are 70 lol. I know they are going to take my daughters license away before she turns 20. So far she has been in two accidents, within 4 months of getting her license. Neither were her fault but I have a feeling that poor kid is going to be an accident looking for a place to happen. The one accident a young man pulled across the street from one parking lot to go to another on the other side of the street. Hit her so hard he pulled her into the parking lot with him. His mother called me to see if she was ok ( she hurt her foot and the thing is still giving her problems we worry about tennis this year ) the mother said after I went to the hospital with her he started to shake because he thought i was going to beat him up lol. DO NOT MESS with my child. At the accident he kept telling me she is ok she is ok as I was running up to the car ( she called me it was about 1/4 of a mile up the street from our house ). I guess the cop looked at my face and told him son shut up that woman might just hurt you lol.

Shad
Are you saying the chicken was tired of starving so it just jumped into the pot lol.

happy
It wouldn't have been so bad if it had just rained all day like it was suppose too lol. Made me so darn mad that it turned out to be a beautiful day. You have to go early in the year to see some of the animals at their best, when it starts to get warmer they are hold up all the time.

annie175 04-29-2008 03:32 PM

Afternoon Ladies..........

Nicer day today than yesterday....

Diyana....Hoorah on the size 14s. Squeeze away to make them fit. I always say, lean whatever direction necessary on the scales to make the scales say what you want it to say.

Ceejay...snakes don't seem to bother me anymore, could be cause DD has had one in a glass aquarium in her room for the past 5 years. Feeds it live mice, once a week. Ick. I think it is cruel to the mice.

Rennie...vanity sizing. Don't cha just love it.

Happy...Boob Kini...lol. And the time will come when the tankini doesn't do the window shade flap anymore. It used to on me too. Yes, 170 bucks for the 05 Camry, and 65 bucks for the 89 beater Ford pick up truck. Highway robbery....

Shad...I love your description of everything. You should write a book, you are very good at it.

UPS & Patty...get to feeling better.

Hello to everyone far and near.

Love and Hugs,
