The scales are finally moving again...I'm down a pound! :carrot:
|
Yay, Suzy!
Dee-Hope your trailer makes it in. That's a real nice Mother's Day present! Cheryl-Wow! 3months already! Janice-We are in the 90's here. Gayle-My mom's present was that I paid to get her perm and color before her trip. Do you ever style your mom's hair? I bet that would be a great present for her. Having mom and dad over for dinner tomorrow. They are still tired from going to NY. We will be making mahi-mahi on the grill with probably some sort of rice pilaf. The girls gave me a beautiful pink Coach handbag while Becky was here. She actually did her own laundry! She left on Thursday. Just got back from a 17 mile bike ride. My scale is still at 134 and not moving. I am so fat:( |
Shelley what a wonderful gift the girls gave you. They know you well.
I am sure that you mom and dad will enjoy dinner tomorrow, one of my fav's. The trailer will be here monday night. NO you are not fat, Shelley. You are a good weight. As long as you are exercising, eatting healthy and you can tie your shoes you are doing awesome....lol Suzy way go to on moving the scale down. Keep it up and you will feel great. You know that this is for life if you want to take care of yourself so it can be slow and easy. Happy Mother's Day everyone. |
|
I couldn't view the pics, I'll try later.
Wishing all the mommies here a VERY HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! Shelley, I usually do My mom and my MIL's hair. This year we are getting my mom an outdoor swing and still undecided on MIL. Sometimes I feel like someone looks at me and I must have hair cut stamped into my forehead. LOL! Just when things settle in, every family member wants a hair cut again. I'm thinking about getting mine cut again. Longer layers and an updated flip on the ends. If I may ask, what did you have to pay for the perm & color? Did it include the cut/style too? Suzy, GREAT JOB! You go girl! |

Congratulations Suzy on the weight loss. You go girl. Dee - I clicked on the link but won't be able to view your painting until you accept me as a friend. I sent you a request. Gayle - I pay about $150. for a colour a few highlights and a cut. Shelley - I wish I could get to weight what you do. You are not fat. You look fabulous. http://www.smileycentral.com/sig.jsp...98&pp=ZNfox000 |
I really can't talk today. Shelley I meant to say "I wish I could weigh what you do" my brain is tired.

My first Mother's Day was pretty good! I went to church with Jake. The program was presented by my aunt. She had called all of the children in the church and asked them to write letters to thier mothers. Then she had someone read the letters aloud to see if the mothers could guess which letters were written by their children. Imagine my surprise when there was a letter from JAKE read! Momma wrote one for me from him. I couldn't help but cry when it was read!
Suzy, I know what you mean about the scales standing still. I'm "stuck" at 248. It's my own fault, though, because I've only been half-@$$ sticking to my "diet." It'll get better soon, though! I mailed pictures to everyone but Janice and Suzy. Janice, yours will go out today. Everyone else, be watching your boxes. |
Cheryl awww that is so sweet. I am glad that you had a nice Mother's Day. You are a good mama.
Janice I will check facebook today and accept. I didn't realize that the link wouldn't work unless you were my facebook friend. Now I have to think of a way to paste a link here for everyone to view. Anybody got an idea as to how I can do that? We had a wonderful Mother's day. Larry made me fresh strawberry crepes and a latte for breakfast. The kids came down and then I openned gifts. We all headed over to the park for a picnic and a few games of bochi (sp?) ball. It was a really nice warm day. Later for supper we met my family at a restaurant and then headed back to mom and dad's where she openned gifts. She really liked my picture and wanted it hung right away. We also gave her a big bouquet of flowers. It was wonderful. |
Ohhh, I am so excited..............in five more minutes I will have a T@B sitting in my driveway. I haven't even seen inside of it yet!
Larry said that as he is driving it home he sure is getting a lot of looks. I said yeah they are probably saying look at that poor guy going camping in the rain! |
Dee, I'm excited FOR you!!!
I think it'll be fun to camp out with Jake when he's a little older! |
Good morning all,
Weigh in today down 1.5 pounds I would have liked to see at least 2 pounds but at least its going in the right direction. Dee - I loved your paintings, you are one talented lady. |
Janice--1.5 pounds is GREAT!!
Congratulations! |
Thanks Janice, it was fun painting. I should do it more often.
Way to go on the weight loss. Hey you are doing awesome don't be disappointed. It will come off. Cheryl I am sure when Jake gets bigger he would love to camp. My kids love it. We spent more days camping in the summer than we did at home. Yesterday I wiped down the trailer, not that it needed it, it was spotless. I organized and put everything away that we bought and I still have some empty spaces. At first look I thought gee I don't know if everything is going to fit. I might have to return some of the stuff. As we brought bags and boxes of camping gear in and found a spot for it I couldn't believe all the extra space. I am impressed with it and the queen bed felt comfy and firm. We are going to head out on saturday to try it out. It looks like the rain is stopping. Those little robins are sure happy to have a few worms to eat. It is time for me to head out and burn off my worms. |
I had a little angel arrive in my mailbox today! THANK YOU CHERYL! Allison says baby Stew is a keeper and he is oh, so cute! The pics are great, looks like a future little farmer.
GREAT JOB JANICE! You are doing fantastic! Dee, enjoy the new toy!!! Have fun but stay safe. |
:) :)
|
Gayle, what did you think of the "pitch-a-fit" picture?
|
I couldn't tell, was he getting ready to throw a fit? I thought maybe he was laughing hard.
|
As I am typing this my dad is having surgery. He is getting his knee replaced. Please pray for a safe and successful operation.
Cheryl I can't wait to see the picture. I am sure he is a cutie! My back is doing marvelous. I can hardly believe what it feels like to be pain free. After next weeks procedure they will probably get me to come off my meds and see how I do. My leg was a bit trouble some but it seems to have settled down the last few days. I talked to Aunty Sally last night. She isn't doing well. She now has a hospital bed at home so she can be propted up. She has a hard time breathing when she lies down. She is in so much pain. I actually think that she has bone cancer too. They will be testing for that on the 26th. My cousin in law her dil thinks that she doesn't have much time left. My mom is really upset. She wants to go see her but with dad being operated she will have to wait a bit. Life is pretty tough sometimes. Count your blessings. I will too! |
No laughing in that picture, Gayle--he was in full-blown "Little Stew" mode. Gotta love him anyway!
Dee, I hope your Dad comes though his knee replacement surgery OK. My FIL just had his done in February and he's finally back at work. The key is good follow-up physical therapy. Does he have a recumbant bike? That's what my FIL's Dr. recommended he do. |
Shoot, Cheryl! He is STILL a little angel! Good thing they are so darn cute cause sometimes they will test your limit. You'll know what I'm talking about in another 10 years! LOL!
Dee, prayers sent to dad. I hope the surgery is a success and he is up soon. Prayers also for aunt Sally. I hope they can give her something to ease her pain. How far away is she from your mom? I hope they can see each other soon. |
ayle Sally is 7 hours from here. It is a long drive and my dad won't be making that one any time soon. Mom will probably have to fly out and then have a one hour ride to Sally's.
Dad is doing well. Well that is yesterdays news. He is a tough guy so I am sure that today he is ok. I know that it takes a few days before you feel the pain but I was more scared of him being put under with his heart and high blood pressure. He has the same heart trouble that I have. But he did good so now I feel better. I am going to see him this afternoon. Tonight we are celebrating Dez's birthday at the baseball game. We bought tickets to the game and dinner. Her real birthday is tomorrow but we will be getting packed up to leave for the long weekend. Hope you all have a good day. Thanks for all the prayers. My eyes hardly have time to dry out before I cry again but you girls are a big help. |
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEZ! Have your mom take you shopping! :-)
Dee, I hope dad gets along ok so your mom can make the trip to see her sister. You guys have fun this weekend and enjoy "christianing" in your new little home on wheels. Wink, wink... |
Dad is recovering good from his surgery. I was shocked to see him because I couldn't recognize him. He looked like an old man. His cheeks were hollow and his lips were swollen, you couldn't even see his teeth. I guess from the breathing tube. His voice was raspy too. Mom said that he looked good after the surgery but I guess the swelling hadn't taken place yet. At this point he is not feeling any pain.
Gayle you are the knotty one of the bunch....lol Hey guess what we played against the Kansas T-bones last night. We lost to you guys by one run. It was a good game and awesome fireworks. Des had a good time, good food, and lots of fun. I even found some spits that were candy coated....lol Never seen those before. The kids thought that they were pretty wild. We will be leaving tomorrow morning. It is a long weekend here so won't be back til monday night. I hope that you have a good weekend. Guess I can't count on Gayle to keep you guys on your best behavior, I will have to count on you guys to keep her in check. |
Oh yeah Gayle by the way Dez sure knows how to spend our money. I can't believe that kid. She shops on the internet all the time forwarding us links to something we might just need one day. lol Hey she has gotten us a lot of good deals (the trailer included, she saved us over $4000) but she likes to spend money even if it isn't her own.
|
A quick note, Papa died. Funeral is tomorrow. We are heading out to the lake now and will return for the funeral. We are so sad. He is with baba now.
|
Dee-Prayers to you and your family.
Cheryl-Thank you for the pictures. He is such a cutie. Janice-Good for you on the lbs. lost! Gayle-I am wondering if a new thread should be started here. It's getting so long! |
Dee, I am so, so very sorry of your loss. I knew he was older then Viv, but I didn't realize he was ill or was this sudden? Your family is really being tested right now, I honestly believe it is the strongest in their beliefs that are tested and suffer the most. God bless all of your family as they go through the difficulities ahead. {{HUGS}}
Shelley, did I send you the tornado video? The goof went right up to it when it stopped roatating. I would of been scared to death it would of started again. BTW, Dee, this wasn't the tornado that wiped out the city (Greensburg) last year. this was one substantually smaller in size & strength. We went fishing today and came home with nothing. The guy who I purchased my license from promised me I would catch something... guess I need to go ask for a refund! LOL! I did end up with a sunburn though. We have a graduation tomorrow out of town I'm dreading. It is for my niece and her mother, my SIL, is basically nuts. She needs to be medicated for everyones safety. I am on her "Hit list" at present, so it should be a fun experience. Please pray for me! :-) Shelley, I think it is fine if you start a new thread, this one is getting pretty long. Did you have fun while Becky was home? How are your parents doing? Did they get their condo mess all figured out? I hope everyone is having a decent weekend! |
God bless you and your family Dee! You all have been through so much...you have my sympathy and prayers.
Gayle, I hope the graduation is uneventful you you! Shelley, I think a new thread might be in order too. I often have a horrible time getting the pages to load here and a lot of the time I give up before I read or post, so maybe a shorter thread would help. |
STOP!! A NEW THREAD HAS BEEN POSTED, #33.
