  • Not really missing. I'm at work checking in. My computer is in the shop and I should get it back on Tuesday.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend and staying on program.
  • Happy Monday ladies! I'm still trying to get my eating under control here, but at least I am keeping up with my commitment to get on the treadmill for 30 minutes every day. I did take yesterday off, but I went shopping with some friends, so I'm sure I walked more than 30 minutes (I'm not going to count it towards my goal though).

Janice, I wondered where you have been. I hope your computer comes back soon and is better than ever!

Allison, how are you doing with the carb cravings? Carbs are what I crave too...I think it's the hardest thing to kick!

    Goal - 750 min. / 30 min. today / 90 min. total
  • Carb cravings only seem to bother me when I start the day wrong. If I have cereal or oatmeal, I want carbs the rest of the day. Sometimes a sandwich at lunch will do it to me, too. I'm doing okay staying away, though.

I caved in this weekend and had wine. 1 bottle lasted me Friday and Saturday and then I bought a second for Sunday which I shared with my MIL. No more. I'm off the "sauce" for another few weeks.

Eating has been all over the place lately. I'm up a little as a consequence, but I'm hard at the diet today and hope to reverse the little gain.

DD tried on her dress for her program in May. It won't zip up. She must lose about 10 pounds so it gives us all the impetus to really stick with it for the next month or so.
  • Hey everyone! I have been MIA, on other websites, etc. I can't believe I missed the princess's birthday! Happy Belated Birthday, Dee! I love you!

My eating has been bad up until yesterday. Now I am trying to not eat after 9:00 at night. That's when the carb monster takes control of me.

Suzy-Good for you getting on the old TM everyday! That's awesome!

Allison-It helps to have someone else trying to stay OP with you. I hope you and your DD do well!

Janice-Hope your computer is up and working soon!!

We had a scare with my mom. She had foot surgery last week and had a reaction to the anesthesia. She was nauseous for several days and wouldn't eat. She is okay now, but still not eating much.
  • I have been thinking about what Allison said about eating cereal for breakfast making the carb cravings worse. I almost always eat some kind of hot cereal for breakfast. I tried a scrambled egg and oj for breakfast this morning to see if it will make a difference, but I'm not sure it will be enough to hold me over until lunch. What do you all normally eat for breakfast?

It's good to hear from you Shelley! I'm glad that your mom is doing better...I'm sure that was quite a scare for you all!

    February goal - 750 min. / 30 min. today / 120 min. total
  • My breakfasts vary. Sometimes an egg or two (or scrambled egg whites) with or without "sausage" (Morning Star Farms). Lately I've been having a banana smeared with 1 T peanut butter and a little (1-2 T) Fiber One cereal. Sometimes it's a grapefruit. I have to admit, there are some days when it is just coffee.
  • I'm back, my computer is all fixed. When I am staying away from carbs I usually make an omelet with peppers, onions and cheese in it. It holds me longer than just eggs. I think there is a lot of carbs in orange juice because of the sugar. Shelley - glad your Mom is feeling better.
  • I'm ashamed to say, I don't eat breakfast. 3 cups of coffee is all I have. My lunch has been a bag of 94% popcorn. That's probably why I eat all night long.
  • Welcome back Janice! I went back to cream of wheat for breakfast...it's just faster and easier to fix that in the microwave than it is to make eggs. I just need some willpower to get me though the afternoon hours!

Shelley, I don't know how you can make it through the day on coffee and a bag of popcorn!

    February goal - 750 min. / 30 min. today / 150 min. total
  • I just received this update about Cheryl and her baby and thought I would pass it on to you all here. Please keep Cheryl and baby Jake in your prayers...they really need them right now.

    Quote:
I am Cheryl's friend and wanted to let all of you know that she had her baby early. Baby Jake was born yesterday (February 7) at approximately 4:30 pm. Although he was a month early, he weighed 7 lbs 3 oz. Cheryl has been on oxygen, but they have just taken her off and breathing OK at this time. Baby Jake is not breathing on his own and his blood sugar is low. They have him on oxygen and on I.V. The doctor decided to send him to The Med in Memphis for extra care. She stated they just flew him out about 10 minutes ago by helicoptor. Stewart "new daddy" will be in Memphis with Baby Jake and Cheryl's mother will be staying with her. Please keep them both in your thoughts and prayers.
  • Happy weekend everyone!

    Goal - 750 min. / 30 min. today / 180 min. total
  • Suzy - I like your treadmill goal counter.
Cheryl and baby Jake are in my thoughts and prayers.
  • Thanks Janice! I think I finally have this exercise thing figured out. I have to get up early and do it first thing before I do anything else. Then I don't want to blow that 30 minutes on the treadmill by eating something I shouldn't later in the day.

    Goal - 750 min. / 30 min. today / 210 min. total
  • I get to move my weight ticker down from 163 to 160 today! I'm doing something right here! (Even if I am doing it all alone...where are you girls?)

    Goal - 750 min. / 30 min. today / 240 min. total
  • Hey there ladies, I am happy to see that you are all posting.

Suzy I am sorry to hear about the loss of your good friend. My prayers are with you and her family.
Do you remember how you felt when you lost all that weight before? Well picture that and you can use that for your motivation

Shelley how is your mom today? As our parents age there is many more complications that they run into. I hope that she is doing well.
How could you forget the Princess's Birthday.......lol I just might wave my wand over you!

Janice it looks like you have everything under control with your eating. Omlettes are good to keep you full a long time. How is the weather. I hear that it was really cold for us on monday.

Allison I am proud of you for running 51 miles. You are doing great. That burns a lot of extra calories. Now just have to watch that glass of wine.

I am happy to hear of Cheryl's baby's birth. He just was a little too impatient. I hope and pray for a speedy recovery to both of them.

Larry arrived on saturday. I had a girlfriend come out and see me for a week. She loved it. She has never traveled before so it was a whole new experience for her. She was my Vallarta Virgin....lol

I have rode a donkey, sun tanned with snakes (yikes), watched the whales, lots of mountain hiking, danced with the Mariachi, and cried for missing my mexican partner Viv (Larry's step mom).

    Missing you guys.

Behave or I will have to go home and straighten things out.
