YAY at Gina back to riding full steam!

Summer is going WAY too fast. I sure hope New England gets a wonderful long Indian summer, to make up for all the rain we had in July.

In less than two weeks we leave for Chillicothe, OH for the EasyRiders Grand Nationals Rodeo. It's 800 miles; we'll be leaving Wed. early evening and hopefully arriving Friday afternoon. Please be good to us, WeatherGods!

take care, chicks. Sure hope everyone's doing good.

Well Hey everyone, I have been MIA for a while but still losing weight. It has been a really busy summer and then we took off for Sturgis on Aug 1st and the weather was great except for one day we took off to go riding and it starting raining so we turned around and decided to go the other direction and I ended up buying a new motorcycle that day. I did keep my Yamaha Vstar 1100 but now my new baby is a 2006 American Ironhorse Chopper I did ride a few days out there but only real easy runs and it quite different and sharper turns are taking some getting used to but I am getting better. The clutch is super stiff but have new springs coming to fix that problem should be here by Friday

Holly when do you leave for OH, I have been talking with a few friends and we are trying to set up a ride for either next weekend or Labor Day weekend well it would have to be an extended weekend like probably leave on Thursday come home on Sunday.

It sounds like everyone is having a great summer so far that is great! Talk at you later

Hi Reda!!! so good to hear from you!!! An American Iron Chopper????which model? I just googled to find out about them, I don't know anything

Outlaw
Slammer
Tejas
Texas Choppers
LSC
Legend
Bandera
Judge
Classic Chopper

but they are all CONGRATULATIONS!!!

We leave for OH next Wednesday. We're traveling with the same couple we went to Myrtle Beach with. And meeting up at the rodeo with about 30 or so people we've communicated with online, we're getting what they call Gold Rush camping spots.

You pay $300 (we're splitting the cost with others) and you get to go a week ahead of time, with your campers/trailers, and stake out a prime spot. Of course that's impossible for us, 800 miles away, but thank goodness for good friends we've made, who will do that for us. And get their own spots. So we're gonna have like a compound of 4 Gold Rush spots for our clan

And we all decided to chip in $125 to rent a port-a-potty for our spot, it's worth it to have a clean one that thousands of people won't be using.

This is a pretty wild party I have two costumes planned, one is cowgirl ( bandanna halter top, ripped faded jeans, cowboy hat, lariat) and other is part of a group effort; the other ladies will be in schoolgirl outfits and I am the Stern Head Mistress. Yeah , this is adult fun and I wouldn't get near these costumes unless I had gotten myself into some shape finally.

We will be bringing our motorcycle trailer, but this time we don't need to bring any food related items; our camping buddies will take care of that, but I am bringing my Gevalia coffee maker! gotta have coffee in the morning

this is what one of our Ohio friends brings for this event; he and his wife have been doing it for years; (sorry for the all caps, that's how he types, lol)

TIME IS HERE- STARTED LOADING FIRST TRAILER TODAY. LOADED MOTORCYCLE, 4 WHEELER, 12X12 CANOPY, 2 FOLDUP TABLES, CHAIRS, BBQ GRILLE, 4 EACH 1000 WATT HALOGEN LIGHTS, GENERATOR, WATERHOSE, CORDS FOR LIGHTS, 4 BIGGGGG COOLERS, 10X20 CARPET(OUTSIDE CAMPER), LATERNS, EXTRA TANK GRILLE, GAS CAN, TOOL BOXES, BUG ZAPPER, AIR MATTRESS, SLEEP BAGS (EXTRAS), 1000 BAGS OF BEADS(YES 1000), RAIN COATS SEVERAL, SUE CLEANED UP CAMPER AND REDID CAMPER IN MOTORCYCLE THEME, POTS AND PANS, DOG CAGE FOR BUDDY, BIG 4' ROUND FAN FOR HOT DAYS (WILL GIVE YOU A GOOD BREEZE), STICKS TO MARK OFF LOTS, MISC. SMALL THINGS, FORD TRUCK TO PULL THURSDAY 21st. WILL PULL CAMPER WITH EXPLORER UP ON TUESDAY 26th. WILL LOAD CLOTHES AND FOOD ON 25TH. NOW TELL ME AGAIN WHY YOU CALL ME PARTYMASTER?

Yes, we call him the Partymaster!!

Holly that sounds like so much fun - I wish I was going with you guys!
It is American Ironhorse and the model is Legend. I am having trouble getting a picture downloaded but I will try again tomorrow afternoon.

Your friend sure does have thing under control and ya he would be the partymaster I am usually the one that gets to do all the planning and packing what I think everyone would want or need while camping, it just seeems much easier, every group has to have at least one person that doesn't mind taking on the job.

I am so excited about getting my clutch lighted up tomorrow as the parts came today but my DH is helping DS build a new motor for his race car as he goes to Nationals first week in September and boy is that also exciting nothing but races from like 9am till past midnight for 2 days and this is just qualifying then the actual feature races on the 6th. He did very well last year so hopefully it will go good this year as well.....

Well I will talk at you later and I am still so jealous of your trip coming up

From a review, it says the Legend is the most 'rideable' of the AIH choppers, that's kewl

best wishes to your son with the racing! you sure are a 'moto' family

GOOD to hear from you!

Yes my new bike does look like that I think I have different handle bars and maybe the rims are a little different as well. And my colors are candy apple red with white racing stripes. I haven't had time to mess with pictures yet but will try soon. But from the looks of it you are a wiz at that.

I was telling everyone about your trip but it is like 900 miles away from us so wouldn't be able to do that in a 4 day stretch and escpecially with a new bike. But I a sure you will have blast and bring back some pictures that you can post...

Talk at you later.

hello chicks, we're set to leave tomorrow at 1:30 pm but I am so sad; our beloved Alaskan Husky Tasha died unexpectedly on Saturday, while we were all at work

She was going to be 12 yrs. old next month, she was a big dog and that is getting on in years but she had no problems except for some stiffness in her legs/hips, and she was on a low daily dose of Rimadyl (doggie aspirin) for that, so we were just blown away and shocked and devastated.

I spent an hour sitting on the floor by her body, just stroking her beautiful thick soft fur, and tracing the pretty markings she had along her eyes and forehead and muzzle.

the boys dug her grave and after we all said our goodbyes, we all picked her up and carried her to the woods.

god, it's so sad. We had her since she was a little annoying puffball of fur and sharp puppy teeth and such soft tender little toe pads.

It'll take time, but we are of course still expecting to see her appear around the corner or laying under our bed.

Oh so sorry for the loss, and such a beautiful dog you have, that is so sad brings tears to the eyes and memories of when my childhood poodle passed on. Well I know you are well on your way to FUN and PARTYING!! Still wish I was going but I am still trying to talk DH into going to Milwaukee for the HD 105th anniversary celebration this weekend but who know what we will end up doing....

Well hopefully before you get back I will at least one picture posted.

Oh Holly....I'm so sorry. I've been there too many times myself.

Hopefully your trip is keeping your mind off it.

Reda - holy that's a bad (!) bike. Where's the jealous green faced smilie? Hmm...not quite right - but I never noticed a foot in mouth smilie before.

I'm enjoying a 3 day weekend by doing nothing. And I'm still on day 1! Life has been busy trying to coordinate a 50 Wedding Anniversary party for my parents. It's still almost a month away...but most of the hard stuff is done. Cake ordered, food picked out...RSVP's trickling in...I am not a party organizer type. Now I remember why we eloped. Ah well....50 years is pretty amazing.

Gina I never seen foot in mouth smilie before either but it is kinda of cute....

50 years wow that is a long time!!!!, I have been married for almost 20 years to my high school sweetheart. Everyone always says well when the kids get older and graduate is when most couple split but now both of our kids are out of school and we still enjoy each other, it really helps that we have alot of the same interests!! How long have you been married? I to am in the midst of planning a party hubby turns 40 on Sept 12th so throwing big party for him. It is alot of work but it will be a blast!

We went on a motorcycle ride yesterday I made it a 100 miles on new bike without sore butt or back, the wind really picked up on the way home so I had hubby drive it home because it seemed to be allover the place, it is very light bike, so I was not comfortable at all with that so I told him to take over he made it 60 miles and had to stop because his butt and back were hurting. Oh well so far it is all good for me and since I am the one that rides it that is what counts
Have a great weekend!!!

I HATE riding in the wind...I have 10 inch tires and a relatively light bike.

DH and I are celebrating 21 years of marriage on the 19th. I like to say we are still together because none of the murder attempts have been successful. But in all honesty - he really is my best friend. AAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWW....plus it would be such a PITA to find and train an upgrade.

I hear ya on training a new one, but really we do alot together and I think one thing that saves us is twice a year we take vacations together without kids and the other 2 vacations a year include the kids but now that they are older they aren't always interested in going on vacations with us any longer..
Still bored today and not really want to cook supper so maybe we will have to go out for supper but really to lazy to get up and get ready for that to- maybe sandwiches will be our supper today???

Smile I'm Baaaaaack! Missed Ya!

Hey Biker Babes!

So sorry I've been MIA for so long. Looks like you're all fine and still out there riding! Hi Holly! Hi Gina! Hi Reda! And anyone else who's here. It will take me months to catch up since I haven't been around since May.

OMG Holly....when I saw your weight ticker I was SO HAPPY for you!!! 149--WOW! But so sad to hear about your sweet doggie. We have a little bichon-poodle mix that will be 18 this December and we pray that she goes easy like your Tasha. The last thing I EVER want to do is have to take her to the vet one final time. Losing her will be bad enough, but to have to be a part of it would just kill us. It's just the hardest thing to lose a faithful pet, isn't it. It just sucks.

Where I've been: Well, when I started working the 12 hour shifts at the hospital in April, it about killed me! I'd come home and just die....then hibernate until the next time I had to work. Now I've adjusted and actually have some energy left over after a 13.5 hour day running the halls on the Cardiac Medical Unit. I usually wear a pedometer and most days I go anywhere from 6 to 9 miles...so great exercise! I have actually lost a few pounds while eating anything and everything....so for a while I'm going to get back on Adkins...probably just temporarily, until I get to goal. I know that once I'm there I can maintain just by going to work! Holly, I see you're doing modified SouthBeach....and I love the Suzanne Somers Plan...which is similar. Both cut out the nasty "white" carbs.

We've been riding some....but have had a lot of rain on our days off. Welcome to summer in Florida! But soon our prime riding time will be here...winter! YAY! We did ride down to Port Saint Lucie...stayed with our friends for the night....then a big group of us rode down to near Ft. Lauderdale and picked up the original east-west road in S. Florida called the Tamiami Trail. It was GREAT! The Trail goes through an indian reservation and there are hundreds of alligators along the way. It ends up on the west coast at Naples. We stayed the night, then rode home the next day. It was a fabulous trip and we're all thinking we'd like to do it again when the weather cools and the rains stop. Like after hurricane season. Looks like there are several trying to take aim at us right now. BE GONE Hanna, Ike and Josephine!

So that's it for me today....just wanted to check in and begin getting caught up with all of you!

Hey Jill, nice to hear from ya. Those are some long hours and I can see where it would take some getting used to.... So how are you liking your new career?

Well I finally took some time to get the picture thing figured out and here it goes hopefully it will post...

So here is the picture of my new motorcycle that I bought out in Sturgis this year. And below is the picture of my 1st motorcycle that I just can't seem to bring myself to sell... I have had alot of offers but just not ready to get rid of it...

I am kind of looking grumpy here but that is because we were heading into keystone to meet up with some friends and there was a bad accident of which they said would be like 15 minutes before we could head into town, however this picture was after waiting 45 minutes and the heat was getting to me already....Needless to say we took off shortly after that. Well talk at you later
