Ps To Madcat....be My Guest For Setting Up October!!

Ruthxxx 09-28-2007 10:26 AM

Quickie but time for a giggle at the WW story. If it weren't for sex, I would have been a lesbian!

My dear friend Shirleyanne is en route right now to visit for the weekend. I really need this after a rollercoaster week. We've been friends for fifty years! We'll spend the weekend talking, sipping tea, quilting and crying over dear departed dogs - there are a lot in 50 years!

Gotta dash to the liquor store and also pick some raspberries to decorate thte peach crisp dessert.

Wolf bought a used Malabo because he has to drive so far to work. I have to admit the little car has a nice ride and it looks nice too. We thought about getting me one because of the cost.

Hollyhock 09-28-2007 04:17 PM

Home from work, paid the balance of the stinkin sewer bill, retrieved children, took a nap, put some pork chops in the oven and currently vegging right here. Kids are playing so well. Enjoyable. Shocking but decidedly nice.
Local Fair tonight with the kids. Hoping for some pep in my step. Ears are about the same. Work was insanely busy. I made enough tips to pay the sitter. :D
Very tired. First hockey game of the season tomorrow morning and then to the farm ( in laws) for dinner. I do get to sleep in til 9am tho. :D
Plan on vegging until I need to finish up supper.

Shy Moment 09-28-2007 05:28 PM

Holly
Hope you start feeling better. Sorry you are so busy. Enjoy dinner and the kids being good.

Shad 09-29-2007 12:18 AM

The month gets worse. Crikey, roll on October.

Holly - sorry to hear about the ears. I hope the antibiotics work for you. It's no fun being partly deaf, especially when you work with people whom you need to talk to and interact.

Happy - get that eye seen to NOW!

Mel - I am going to ring you next week. It won't be for long but I need to discuss something apart from our pornographic instincts. I'll let you know closer to the day.

Ruth- enjoy that friend. My friend in AZ has been my friend since i was 16 and I have another friend who started school with me aged 5. I love them to death. Peach crisp - ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh  me too, me too. I'd even work up an appetite for that.

Rennie - hope you feel better soon. I usually get a cold about every April. It's near enough the only thing that ever goes wrong with me. Touch wood.

Madcat - glad you dropped in. I have found a place for you to stay when you visit Perth  It's called the Mad Cat Backpackers. :lol3:

Ceejay - thanks for the heads up on Toyota. I've sorta looked at them, but the smaller cars - which are basically what I need - always look chunky and squat. I'm a real devil for sleek lines and the long, lean, low look. I know they are really good. Everyone seems to love their Toyotas.

Painter - good to see you with us. Please don't turn us all Lesbian - we would have to move over to the Alternachicks thread - can you imagine what net nanny would do with that. :o

Still can't get in from work. Will have to find a work around somewhere. Talk to the phone company again etc. etc. etc. Work continues to grind along. I must have whinged enough since they have changed the screens for me. I am going in really early tomorrow to work in peace for a few hours. Monday is a public holiday, but I'll be there - can't keep me away! Someone asked what the big attraction was - I said Brisbane. Anyway that's the story for the moment. This computer is making some very funny noises - I have my doubts about it lasting the day - and the keyboard is crap as well. Not to worry, it's not a huge problem - I'll not be back here for some time. I think I am the only one here who speaks English as a first language anyway.

Okay - time to go looking for some new shoes. See ya!

Meadow 09-29-2007 12:55 AM

So many troubles, both physical and in the work arena about this thread! I hope you ladies are remembering to breathe. Take care of that anxiety, get answers where ever possible. Be good to yourselves. :p

Shy Moment 09-29-2007 08:23 AM

Melody
Hope you have a great day. Housework is done, laundry is for tonight when I sit and watch tv. Today am going to go shopping and get myself an outfit. I can't stand my clothes falling off me anymore. :) will check out goodwill and see what I can find first. No reason to spend a lot of money on something that isn't going to fit me in a few weeks :)

Hollyhock 09-29-2007 09:22 AM

t is sunny and crisp here.

I slept a glorious 10 hours. Need to do this a few more times. LOL!!
Kids are having breaky. I need to soon and then off to hockey and then the farm for supper.

Have a great day!

Shy Moment 09-29-2007 09:48 AM

Sleep is the one thing I need. Don't sleep enough. I finaly got to sleep at about 12:30 am and my little eye balls popped open at 5:00 am. Everyone else gets to sleep in lol wish I would.

happy2bme 09-29-2007 10:24 AM

Morning all,

I am off to the eye doctor's shortly. We'll be up by the mall, might do some shopping. Definitely going out to lunch. Then I have to make some plans for our trip next week.

Shad - sounds like a real Tower of Babel you work in. Don't envy you.

Love the cat Meadow.

Smart of you to let the roofers take care of themselves Mel. You're learning  ;)

Madcat, Madcat - get us off this thread and into Ontario. I'm dying to see the colors. :D

Shy Moment 09-29-2007 11:44 AM

I am so excited. I had to go to the doc today. YUP the virus has gone to my lungs and is an infection now. Oh well, we caught it early will get rid of it. Anyway did a weigh in. I have lost another 4lbs :) Well 4.5 but i don't count half's. Will claim that next weigh in.

PainterWoman 09-29-2007 01:49 PM

So I make this vow to post here more often because you are all so much fun and so supportive... but Geez, my computer must be clogged. SLOW SLOW.
but I persisted. (Part of this weight loss stuff is about persistence, right?)

Shy -- I missed your entrance, but glad to get to know you. Way to go on your weight loss... hope that the MD can give you something to know out the virus now that it's officially an infection. (sometimes we HAVE to let things get worse before we can make 'em better, I guess.)

Y'all -- I don't think we all need to switch teams. Just saying that I might butch things up a little in order to stay on program! I haven't felt any body heat-- um for a long time.... don't know if it was the hysterectomy, the breast cancer + chemo and radiation, or the 80 pounds I put on since then. Can you be a slut when you're 60?

Happy --- I had that eye flash and floater thing last spring. Mine was "only" aging. Glad you're getting it checked. If it IS a retinal issue, they can FIX that... (No body "needs" to get decrepit... it's just unavoidable.)
....and congrats on your 35 year anniversary.

MadCat-- Do you do any boards at WW? Can't wait to find out more about the big "O".... ONTARIO, that is.

Mel-- you always say just what I need to hear. I wish that the bells or whatever that you are hearing were as pleasant.... I suppose it makes sense that some of us are nicer to others than ourselves, since the ones who are mean to us and nice to themselves are so prevalent. But I want to be my friend not my enemy.
... congrats for making decisions that feel good & right.

Ruth-- hope your reunion with your friend is wonderful. Tea, (or a beer) and friends, memories, tears and adequate tissues.... what could be better?

Shad -- hope the nutcases at work are back in their shells. I'll join the pro-Toyota legion. Do you have Solara's there? They're pretty sleek and not teensy. Coupes not sedans.

DH seems happy working in the woodworking shop this afternoon. When I get my posts posted, I'm off to the paints!
And then the laundry.
