Hi Gals!
I lost one pound but TOM is here so hopefully more will be gone by the end of this week. My eating is still pretty sad. I hope to get that changed really soon. Congrats to all that are losing and changing their eating habits to healthier ones. Welcome Aunty EM. :) |
Babenwaiting: it seems like this week has gone fairly well in regards to the post and all of the people who have hopped on the wagon.
Tracyg40: Did you get the Thin Within book? It's a great tool that helps us realize that we are God's creation and He made us wonderful in so many ways. We have to acknowledge that he sees us as beautiful and magnificient as a Father should but His grace comes with sacrifice. I sometimes struggle with that sacrifice, to crucify my hunger as Jesus crucified Himself. Christ says that if we seek life through Him, all of the desires of our heart will come true, but only through Him. When I do lose weight, it won't happen because I did it on my own, it happens by the power of God, because He is the only One who can truly transform a person into who we are born to be. I believe that because of my sin of gluttony I put this mask of weight on, but by seeking life through God, He'll provide the ability to resist temptation of the enemy who taunts me with food. Fill yourself with the praise of the Lord and the desire for food with take care of itself. If Jesus can go 40 days and nights without food and be full of grace and thanksgiving, so can we :) As for me: This week has been a tough one, I had cake and it was so fattening and yummy. Yet I still weighed 218 which is awesome. I'm going to work hard to make sure that I am eating only when I'm truly at ZERO and eating healthy until I'm no more than FIVE. I'll max out my calories at 1500 still and pray that I am satisfied and am able to stop when I am. I just want to pray for all of you ladies. I'm sure you are all so beautiful and I hope that you do not value yourselves by the scale. Much love in Christ. --gotworktodo |

I am doing the Lord's Table study on line. I haven't read Thin Within, but a friend of mine said she was doing that book this week, so eventually I may check it out. Thanks for the recommendation and the kind words.

Hey ladies. Hope you are having a good Tuesday. I'm having a :sunny: one here in the South, record-breaking, but I got in my walk before it got too, too hot out there. I won't get away with that as the summer comes on though! Really need to walk earlier ...
Is there anyone else on our thread who's trying to get in X-number of exercise days per week? Be sure and report in when you accomplish your goal for the day! Then that may encourage someone else to do the same ... :) So we are going to be the SERIOUS dieters, right, ladies? :) When I've been on 3FC before, I was on a couple of threads where the ladies on board were all wonderful, and we had such a good time chatting that we sort of forgot why we were on 3FC ... There's absolutely NOTHING wrong with chatting about anything that pops into our little pea-brains, but the most important reason we're here is to lose weight, encourage ourselves to exercise and feel better! I'm going to try to keep that in mind as I go for another 1 - 2 lbs. off this week! I hope you're all as serious about making real progress as I am ... I just hate to think of Summer, and lugging all this extra weight around, don't you? :grouphug: So let's all have a good day and a good week! :cheer: Olivia |

Hey ladies, where is everyone? what happened to
the weigh ins. I'm interested to see how everyone is doing! I'm plugging along. I added a slightly more intense workout....taking it slow. I still haven't made my goal of adding weights, but I will. Soon! I homeschool my kids and we are wrapping it up. So maybe in June I will be able to work it in. I've been doing good with the food i think. I changed my signature, it feels kinda like cheating....my first mini goal was to get below 180. I'm not at 179 yet, but i've been seeing 179.6 for the past 3 days....so i claimed it. But I'm gonna feel like a fraud until the scale reads 179 or lower lol!
My second mini goal is up, i'm definitely taking baby steps:D so it is below 175. Hopefully it won't take me a whole month to do it! So, let's here from you all! Where are you? hugs tracyg |

Tracy, hi there! :) I'm still figuring out the system of weigh-ins; the only way I can figure at the moment is just for each person to report on Mondays what they've lost/how they've done the previous week. I did that (see above.) If our other ladies *show up*, next Monday I hope everyone will report their progress for THIS week so we can get on a schedule/possibly make a chart. I pm'd the ladies who had seemed most interested (after getting your p.m.) in case they'd *lost* us.
So, Trace, I'm glad you're doing well! No, you're not a fraud! And I'm different ... if I'm, say, 179.9 on the scale, that's 179 to me!!!!!!!! :D Sounds to me as though you're very serious about getting healthier, as am I! I FEEL so much better already so that's keeping me going. I hope some other ladies will *catch our fever* and join in with us! :welcome: to any newbies reading this who want to join. We are serious, mean business, are really trying to get off a lb. a week if we can! I have walked 2 out of 3 days this week so I feel good about that. wanted to check in on the new thread so nobody thought i was lost. Still fighting this cold/flu thing which is finally starting to get better instead of worst. No exercise yet but I'm losing so this cold/flu will not leave me with a gain. Can't wait to be back in the land of the living. Keep pluggin ladies You can do this |
I am doing excercise goals of 4-5 days per week, and 1000 minutes this month. Last month I only made it to 600 minutes :( But I am going to try harder this month. Pegged off 35 minutes of cardio today, and may do some ab work a little later after I finish my homework.

Losing and Sock, SO GLAD to see you ladies! :hug: I feared that I had preached too much about us all getting serious about losing weight (I'm talking to myself most of all! :mad: ) and driven you off. :o I warn you though ... I will push sometimes, because I want us all to succeed so much ... :dizzy:
Sock, your exercise routine sounds GREAT! Are you on the elliptical all those days? Losing, I am so sorry you're still under the weather. Congratulations to SockMonkey on 600 minutes last month and more this month. That's a great pace. Maybe I'll try to keep track of monthly minutes instead of daily attendance. I've kept it up! Monday isn't that long ago but each day feels like it's longer than a day. Anyway, I've been exercising every day and I've been eating really well. I've been planning my food in advance, bringing a really healthy low-calorie lunch and snacks to work, and sticking to eating only what I planned to eat. Anyway, today I had a minor victory. A co-worker suggested going out to lunch to celebrate finishing a project and I agreed. This project was a lot of hard work and if a meal is how people want to celebrate it, then so be it. I was able to order a piece of steamed fish with no sauce and steamed broccoli. (There weren't any whole grain carbs available but the piece of fish was large so it was the right number of calories.) So my success is I got through an unplanned festive meal while keeping to a low-calorie diet. YAY! Lisa P.S. my favorite way to get rid of the evening munchies is to go to bed early and get up early. I can delude myself into thinking that whatever I need to get done tonight can be done just as easily tomorrow morning, and getting into bed isn't exactly a workout. |

i think part of the problem is that we eat early becuase of the kids' various activities, then it is 9:00 by the time they get to bed, but the last time i've eaten is 5:00....then I am starving but don't want to eat that late, but sometimes i end up doing it anyway:(
well ladies, i know it's evil, but i weigh every day. i am officially not a fraud any more lol, weighed in at 179 even!:D hope you all have a great 'dieting' day. hugs tracyg who is reaching for that 3 more lbs to make it 10! |
Lisa, good for you! :high: That WAS a victory at your celebration dinner! So NOT easy to do when you're dieting. Good for you ... You have a manageable plan for getting the lbs. off; I think that is half of it, really. If I haven't planned, then I'll end up with the peanut butter jar! Keep up the good work ... Maybe *Monday's scale* will be good to all of us! :cheer: Sometimes I will go to bed earlier rather than eat, as well. Occasionally, in the afternoon, I'll read a book back on my bed, to keep away from the kitchen. I'm glad you found our new location, Lisa ... very nice to have you with our little group! :)
I did okay with calories yesterday but ate a ton of salt ... :mad: I must do better with that today. The water weight from the salt goes away, of course, but I should still watch it. Tracy, I've been bad about getting on the scale too often myself. (I really shouldn't do it ... like today, I KNOW I have extra water weight .... Yesterday, salty hot dogs, soup, bacon all in one day. Figured into my calories but still ... too much salt!) Congratulations on being 179! :cp: Hope to see all our ladies here sometime today. I'm sorry but I have something to disclose. I have fallen off the wagon quite badly. I don't know why I allow myself to do this. I really want to keep focused but it seems that when I work hard and get focused something throws me off. I am ready to get back on. I just wanted to let you all know that I am at 219 still and I haven't moved much since then. It's Thursday but I will make sure that I keep my mouth shut and my body moving. I just have a sweet tooth that really discourages me. If you have some words of encouragement I would appreciate it. i want to stick with you ladies, I just needs some support.
