Hey there ladies ... :sunny:

Checking back in here today to say that I got through yesterday with good results. 1450 calories (not quite 1300 BUT ...) ... way better than usual. I'm getting ready to hit the pool again for water aerobics, and I'd dropped a pound (of water, probably) when I got on the scale today. We're having record heat in the Southeast so didn't get a walk in this morning, but I intend to begin morning walks as soon as I can.

Have a good one, ladies. Hope all is going smoothly for you!

Cheers,
Olivia :flow1:

Happy weekend!

Hey girlies ... :flow2:

Dropping back in to say that I had a successful second day in the saddle yesterday, so to speak, had 1450 calories and did a lot of water exercise. Probably no pool today as it's thunderstorm-y here already, but am thinking of getting out an old WW exercise book and doing some stretches. I'm trying to do cardio everyday that I can, though, to get some of this fat moving!!!

Hugs and lots of willpower to you all ... Tracy, Mae, Losing, Lisa! :grouphug:

Cheers,
Olivia

ok, ok, Normally I would wait a few days to be

really sure that it is there for real, but I couldn't contain myself!:carrot: I finally, finally, finally have hit 20lb mark! Wow!:carrot: I'm 1/3 of the way there! Yay!!!!! My next mini goal is to get below 165, so working on that one.
I am finally feeling more normal, just about able to walk again after my lower body workout lol! I get to do it all again on monday:D I guess that weight workout did the trick with the old metabolism finally! yay! so, excited!

Yoo-hoooooooooooooo For Tracy!!!

:balloons: :balloons: :balloons: for you, Tracy! So happy that you've hit this important goal!!! :o You've worked hard and are being rewarded by Mr. Scale ... Good for you!!!

I had a THIRD good day on my healthy plan. 1600 calories (well, it WAS Friday, and eat-out day. Thank heaven for Guiltless Grill at Chili's! :) ) Am now preparing to go to the pool for my water exercises, and get in a little more sun and fun before the end of the Summer.

If you like the "Bourne" movies with Matt Damon, go to see this latest one, "The Bourne Ultimatum." It is great, so exciting that you don't want to take a potty break!!!

Enjoy your weekend, all!

Cheers,
Olivia :flow1:

Four down and many to go!

Hi ladies ... :sunny:

Fourth day went very well, with lots of water exercise and 1400 calories. I will do a Monday weigh-in tomorrow, though I will only have been dieting for five days, since that's our "official" weigh-in day. I have already done a 35 minute walk this morning, and will probably go do water exercise this afternoon.

Everyone, have a good one! Hope to see some of you here at weigh-in tomorrow.

Olivia :grouphug:

babenwaiting 08-21-2007 02:28 PM

Hey girls, Monday got past me with no weigh-in (but I know I have dropped a couple of pounds since starting last Wednesday) so my next "official" weigh-in will be next Monday. I did exercise in the pool yesterday, and will do so again today, assuming we don't get storms. I'm pleased with my calorie control, overall. Just must keep it up now ...

Okay, we're finishing the third week in August. How time flies when you're having fun, huh? :)

Looking forward to seeing some of you check in when you get the time ...

Buckling Down

Hey All - It sounds like we're getting back in the grove. I've been stuck at 206 pretty much all month and today I finally hit 204. This one was really hard. Maybe it is the heat (We've been over 100 mostly all month) and I guess I've been dragging. I am still really excited about dropping bellow 200 - Surely in Sept I'll do it!!

Which reminds me --:cp::cp: Congrats to TRACY :cp::cp:-- you did it!! I bet it felt great to finally hit that goal.:woohoo:

Olivia -- You have really been doing great with calories and exercise. It motivates me to step it up a bit. That pool aerobics sounds really great!:swim:

I plan on buckling down this last week in Aug. & really focusing in Sept.!!

Have a great weekend ALL!

Hello! I'm back from vacation, the kids are massively jetlagged and
my waistline is significantly larger :( although exactly how many pounds
I'm not sure. I'll be transitioning back to dieting and exercise immediately
and not waiting until October :) but this diet will be gradual and hopefully
not too unpleasant to live with.
I haven't had a chance yet to read the posts I missed but I'll be in
touch again soon. Lisa

babenwaiting 08-25-2007 05:41 PM

:balloons: for you, Mae!!! So happy for and proud of you, getting down to 204!!! SUPER ... :flow2:

Hi there Lisa ... hope your trip was wonderful, and if you did gain a couple of pounds, I hope you enjoyed EVERY BITE that created them! :) We have to relax on vacations, otherwise, it wouldn't be a vacation.

I'm still doing pretty well, exercised at the pool today again after missing exercise for a couple of days, too hot to walk and just didn't get to the pool. My calorie count has risen a little the last couple of days but I'm still being very good compared to the eating I was doing!

Everyone, have a great weekend!

Monday, Monday!

:sunny: Good morning! :sunny:

So it's been 12 days of healthy eating, but I've only lost 3 lbs. overall. :dizzy: Calories have ranged from 1300 to 1900, and really, I need to stick closer to the 1300. I have been exercising again so I FEEL better. Oh, well, I shall continue to do the best I can. I now weight 223 lbs., the same as when we started this thread in April; most Summers, I gain, overall, so I will take 223 now. :)

Tracy, Lisa, Mae, Losing ... hope you all had a good weekend as this Summer draws to a close.

Cheers,
Olivia :grouphug:

Hello Ladies,

Olivia, you've been so great, keeping the motivation going, both for yourself
and for the rest of us on the list. You're an inspiration.

Mae and Tracy, Congratulations. You both have done really well.

I gained about 5 pounds during my holidays. I knew it was happening
because I could feel my clothes getting tighter. Isn't it amazing that at
the smaller sizes you can actually feel the difference of 5 lbs? Well,
anyway, I'm back at work again and the workload is pretty stiff, so
I can't be too ambitious about much else, but I do have to be healthy.
So . . . . .
1) I'm bringing food to work every day, mainly barley with stir-fry
on top. (barley is a low-glycemic carbohydrate.)
2) I'm increasing my exercise a tiny bit, with an emphasis right now on
strength and muscle. Muscle mass will make me heavier in the short
term, but it'll be burning calories and I'll be leaner in the long term.
I'm especially interested in some pilates kind of exercises because
I'd love to have really excellent posture.

Lisa

tracyg40 08-29-2007 08:11 AM

Morning Lisa! Welcome back! Congrats Mae!

5lbs and you'll be BELOW 200! Yippeee!!!! Howdy Olivia, hey 3lbs in the right direction!!!!
As for me, I am holding steady at 166. Right after I started to get seriously back on track my inlaws from out of state called and said, we're coming to visit...tomorrrow....(that was last week) and it was my birthday and my sil's bday....but still....I'm not gaining.
I am back to working out though after taking last week off. Did my upper body monday, walked 2 miles yesterday and once I get my kids working I will be doing my lower body today.
I am going to Colorado the first week of October and I NEED to drop a few! Hope more than a few. I also need to build up some strength and endurance. I had serious altitude sickness last time, and am hoping being in better shape and starting very early to drink water will aleviate that.
Well, the 'grind' has started for me, my kids started school (i homeschool) on monday, my ds has football every day and dd #1 is back at gymnastics full on, and dd#2 will be starting gymnastics next week. That, along with my church's weds. nite program takes up every day of the week but tues/fri.....
Sometimes it is overwhelming, but I'm told when my kids are older I will miss it.......;)
will try to check back in soon! btw, do we maybe want to start the thread over maybe the first of september? It might motivate some new joiners and these pages are getting harder for me to load....just a thought.

hi ladies

Sounds like you all are getting back into the swing of things again. I 'm ready for the hot weather to be out of here ...but do miss my days with it just being my daughter and I.
Well my on again off again relationship with my scale is now over :goodscale Yes, it gave me some good times and bad :chin:  It kicked the bucket so now I have to go scale shopping. I've been without one for a little over a week and I know I will pay when I find a new one. That stupid thing does keep me on my toes as much as I hate it.
I'm looking into joining Weight watchers meetings. Do any of you go to them?

DeterminedLisa 08-30-2007 12:21 AM

I had some trouble with sugar cravings and eating candy the day
before yesterday, but I had a great day yesterday, eating healthy
and getting lots of work done and generally being on a roll. That's
what I like to see!!
I've only done a few minutes per day of exercises recently, but when
I'm busy it's really hard to carve out time for exercise. I'll have to
work on that.

I agree let's start a new thread for our
"New Beginning ... come with me" group, and maybe somebody
would be willing to post a welcome message as the first posting?

Losing, good luck scale shopping. I'm amazed how much the
"personality" of a scale influences the process of weight loss.

Tracy, good luck with the altitude sickness.

Olivia, sounds like you've been losing at the rate of a quarter pound
per day AND you're feeling good each day. That's amazing. Either
one is possible for me, but I have a lot of trouble getting both.

Lisa

babenwaiting 08-30-2007 01:19 AM

Hi ladies ... I will start a "New Beginning 2" thread on Saturday, September 1. Very good idea, Tracy! :) I am falling asleep at the moment but will talk with you girls more later. Good to see you back here, Losing!

Tracy, Lisa, Mae, Losing ... :grouphug:
