  • I didn't know this until recently, the phosporus in the soft drinks is what makes for bone loss. I always thought it was the caffiene. I have not had a soft drink in three days. Even today when I went to Jonesboro, I bought water to drink on the way back.

Went to the dr's office to pick up the 2 tablets of Actonel. I have to take this on an empty stomach. Guess I'm going to have to do some juggling of the thyroid med and take it before lunch. Also had to make a visit to my regular doctor. The hematoma is doing good according to the doctor and is just going to take time. I like instant healing. Also had an ear ache due to allergies. Ended up with 4 prescriptions.

When I got home I called the dentist to make an appointment. My gums have started to swell on the same side as my ear ache. Don't know if I have an abcessed tooth or if this is just coincidental. I'll probably get 20 lashes at the dentist office. It's been a long while since my last visit. He knows I have a phobia of dentist.

Exercised this morning for 20 minutes on the bike and will be going to the gym shortly.

I'll be back later to comment.
  • Morning all,
Last day in the office in town. Majority of the project people have gone or will be gone by Monday and only the training section will be left and we will be out on plant. Not in the prison anymore as more than one of us has refused to train in there from now on. Not really much of a stand since we have only two weeks left.

Had a job offer to go back to Groote Eylandt today - for 5 days! - not much of a job and considering that it will take two days to get there. One other thing which will make me turn it down is that I get back from the States on 1.July and they want me up there on 3rd of July. I have an interview for a job in Perth today and if they decide yes, then they want me in Perth on 9th July. Can't be done! It is good to be in demand, but this is ridiculous.

Better go sort out what is what in this neck of the woods. I'll be back, time and system permitting.
  • I WILL HAVE TO CATCH UP OVER THE WEEKEND. LAUNDRY, FOOD SHOPPING, FRESH AIR AND OFFICE WORK HAVE BEEN KEEPING ME BUSY. LOVE TO ALL AND STAY WELL!! HAVE A GREAT FRIDAY TOMORROW.
  • Happy--Birthday greetings. Enjoy your day.
  • Happy Birthday!
    Happy

Happy Birthday to you and many more.... I trust the sun is shining on your special day and all of the south has toasted you with a mint julep and a huge smile Have a super terrific extra splendid day

    Now we dance!

  • Happy - Happy birthday, I'm sending you cyber diamonds.

    http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...amonds-cut.jpg

    for your birthday.

May your day be memorable as the diamonds are.

System is on it's way down so can't stop and gossip.
Catch you all Monday if not before.
  • Good morning chicks,

Thanks for the well wishes. Loved all the graphics. Made for such a pretty morning I still can't believe I got this old. This fast. But oh well, can't do anything about it except make it your best, right?

Thanks for the diamonds Shad - interesting colors. That's great that you can negotiate a job so far in advance. Even better to go on holiday and come back knowing that you have a job ahead of you. Hope everything works out in your favor

Meadow - think I'll be trading the mint julep for a nice tall glass of ice water with lemon. Over here sweet tea is the preferred drink. Must go a bit east and south to get into the deep south - land of plantations, southern belles and mint juleps.

Ceejay - guess you presented another good reason to give up the Coca Cola habit - messing with the bones. I will keep that in mind when I want to reach for a soda. As for the dentist - I say try one who has the nitrous oxide laughing gas. I can tell you that I was a real "white knuckle flyer" this time around with this new dentist. More than ever I was anticipating pain and that made me very nervous. After 2 sessions with him, the confidence is there that he is very very careful. Still don't like going to the dentist but it's getting better.

One more day of work and the weekend is here! So let's get the day started and rolling along. Have a good one everybody.
  • Not much going on except it's a cold morning.

The pay check arrived this morning at 7.20 a.m. so now I need to pay bills.

I did go to the gym yesterday and completed 27 minutes.

My bil in Missouri called last night to tell me that my sister has broken her left arm between the elbow and shoulder, the humerous bone. She will be out of commission for at least 6 to 8 weeks. It was a clean break so there was no surgery is required. The doctors had taken xrays when she got back home
and told them that the bone had realligned itself. They were camping.

I'll be in Paragould this week end.

  • Happy , Happy!

I decided to celebrate the event last night with too much cake and vino on Aus time , and apart from a short stint of work this morning and the long drive home, have spent the day feeling just a tich fragile ... Which is why I'm a little late getting in here with my .

Got home to find my house guests/cat sitters had seriously overfed the cats - enough that I could actually see the difference in their size. Why do people never follow feeding instructions, no matter how specific? Anyway, all three of us will be on a diet as of tomorrow morning. I decided to delay my weigh-in until the morning, but it won't be pretty. The house was also a bit of a mess. Don't know about anyone else, but when I stay with other people I always clean up before I leave, and try to put things back where I found them. Grrr.

Shad, I wondered who'd be the first to notice my kiwi comment...

I do hope to be less grumpy tomorrow. The healing powers of a good night's sleep in one's own bed...
  • GOOD MORNING CHICKS!
SENDING EVERYONE AN EARLY MORNING SATURDAY HUG!! OR IN SHAD AND SUZI'S CASE A SUNDAY HUG!
WE ALREADY HAD 2 ALARMS GO OFF. ONE FOR SMOKE AND THE OTHER FOR THE OFFICE. GETS THE BLOOD PUMPING THOUGH! I AM OFF TO A GREAT START. MY TURKEY CHILI IS ALREADY IN THE SLOW COOKER. NEXT IS RICE, HARDBOILED EGGS AND OATMEAL FOR THE WEEK. THEN VEGGIES IN THE STEAMER. AFTER THAT MAYBE A SHORT RIDE AND GENERAL HOUSE CLEANING. I AM STORING SOME OF JEN'S BOXES SO SHE CAN TRY TO GET A GRIP ON HER "CLUTTER".
THIS WAY SHE HAS SOME ROOM TO MANEUVER. MAYBE SHE'LL ACTUALLY GET TO DO THE FLYLADY THING. SO SHE IS BUSY WASHING CLOTHES AND BOXING THEM. NOTHING "SMOKEY" IS ALLOWED IN MY HOUSE
OFF TO THE KITCHEN. I DON'T WANT TO LOSE THIS MOMENTUM AND I WILL IF I JUST SIT HERE.

    MADCAT
HOME CARLA! MAYBE YOU BETTER INCLUDE ME IN YOUR DIET PLANS. I OVERFED MYSELF THIS WEEK TOO!

    HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!

  • Mel,

I don't think it's this particular thread that's screwy - the whole 3FC site has been slow for me for a long time. It loses my login on posts, gets hung on pages - many times I've had to shut down the Internet session and start again. I thought it might even be Internet Explorer so I tried another web browser. Very frustrating for me and I know what I'm doing - can only imagine how it is for some less techy computer people.

We found another nursery a few miles down the road - oh oh - that can be DANGEROUS. Fortunately, we didn't have alot of time to shop so we came away with only 2 cartfuls of stuff - more to come as we plan out each bed. I'd like to go with perennials as much as possible. Tired of planting and spending so much money each year.

Today I concentrate on cleaning the inside of the house. Spend the afternoon digging yesterday and cleaning flower beds and my wrist is not happy. So I'll go plan my meals for the week as I vacumn.

Speaking of which, the first load of laundry just finished. Off to the dryer. Have a good Sunday...
