  • thanks,
  • Good morning everyone!

I did okay yesterday. Didn't get any exercise in, but my calories came in at 1285......and then I had a glass of wine.....oops. Now I'm paying for that wine with a splitting headache. Aargh!

My eating should be good again today. Busy day today--I'm off to do my puppet show this morning, then work, then take DS to Karate. DD has a concert tonight that we're actually not going to go to. Not that we dislike her concerts, but it is nice that we don't have to do this one. Life is so much simpler now that she can drive!!
  • Yesterday my calories were 913 . I was so craving a peice of superbowl cake but I ended up not to, i said ,whens it going to stop amy? this war forver , your not even hungry you juts want cake. no your not doing it. Today I had the same craving and so far so good, I think I have lost an or or two off my waist already so I dont know!
  • Amy, just jumping in here to say I don't think your eating enough calories. You are a growing teenager, and your body requires more calories then you are currently taking in. Anyone else care to jump in with feedback?
  • I agree 900 is not enough calories. Can't have you getting sick on us!!

I have been pretty good and lost a pound this week. I have been going to the gym or belly dance class at least 4 days a week and now, I miss it when I don't do something.

As I have been super busy, I am just going to say hi to everyone, I am reading but time is getting away from me, so I have to get going!
  • Diets less than 1200 calories per day are recipes for disaster. You severely limit yourself and you feel extremely deprived and you can only go for so long and then you jump off the wagon and go for a full out binge and gain back anything that you've lost (and sometimes more).

A healthy attitude toward losing is what is needed. You didn't gain weight overnight and you certainly are not going to lose it overnight either. Set a realistic goal (1-2 pounds per week) and then set a date in the future when it is realistic to reach that goal. My goal is 8.5 pounds right now. At the rate I am losing (about .5 per week) I should be able to attain that goal in 17 weeks. 17 weeks from now is the 1st week of June. Sure, I was hoping to lose the weight by my 44th birthday, but it ain't gonna happen. I can try, but realistically, I know I can't. But, I can lose 2.5 pounds by my birthday and I certainly intend to do so.

This is no longer a diet for me. This is a lifestyle.
  • Vogue-Ditto on what Gayle, Allison, and Debi said!! Eat more, but make sure it is healthy and filling foods, such as fruits, veggies, whole wheat pastas.
  • thanks for caring but I am close to eating at least 1000 a day Im not on stravation mode if I was I would be comsuming close to 400 a day. My goal is 2 lbs a week by june I should be down at least 20-30 lbs which is my main goal. I am eating healthy not a diet but eating healthy. I eat mostly fruits and vegtables, I keep a chart of what i eat and determine what I need to eat more fruits in a day or more veggies. Plus I am going vegitariran . I wasnt cause of my low carb before but not I changed my diet and I want to eat more healthy.

gtg school , thanks for caring everyone though.
  • Vouge, you joined a group with some caring mothers here, and guess what? You are younger then some of our own kids so we feel like we need to protect you from some of our own experiences. If you feel like you are following a decent plan, then I bet it is, you are very intelligent and sensible. I would give a word of caution though and suggest to keep your protein up since you are giving up meat. Does this include eggs and poultry? Also, remember a few weeks ago when you had a dizzy spell? How many calories had you consumed that day? Protein will make you feel more satisfied and will keep your body running. Off the lecture box now... LOL!
  • Anybody want some snow? It has snowed everyday for weeks. We keep digged out the squirrel and bird feeders and each day they are covered again.
Just a word of caution - do not overdose on Weight Watcher chocolate. I was up most of the night with the trots. My own fault.
Amy- I agree with Gayle, don't forget some protein. Even fat free cheese, egg whites, beans etc. your body needs them for fuel. You are one determined young lady and we are all so proud of you.

  • Janice~no, you can keep your snow!! Sorry to hear about the chocolate problem. Are you sure they don't add ExLax to the recipe? LOL!

Another day on plan yesterday! Actually came in under 1200 so I had a handful of raisins for dessert! Okay, who is going to kick my butt--I haven't exercised since Monday....
  • I will take any and all snow! I really love snow and this winter has been a big disappointment in that department. We do have some forecasted for next week, so I have my fingers crossed!!!!!
Went today and was specially fitted for sneakers. I have very wide feet in front with very narrow heels. Can never find sneakers that my heel stays down in. Usually my heels come up and out of the shoe as I step and I end up with bad blisters. This place was great and fitted me and I ended up with Ryka sneakers and an insert for the front of the shoe as it raises the front of my foot and my heel stays down when I walk. I will test them out tomorrow but in the store, which I walked around a few times, they were great!!!

Amy, we care, don't want you getting sick!
  • Allison -This kicks for you!

Debbie - Sending you buckets of snow.

  • It's been a week from "youknowwhere"! My MIL (AKA Wicked Witch of the East) passed out in the drug store and was taken by ambulance to the hospital on Monday. The doctors suspected a possible blockage in her heart, so yesterday she was transferred to a different hospital for a heart catheterization. It showed no blockages, nothing wrong with her heart at all (I was surprised to find out that she even had a heart) anyway, they made a few adjustments in her medications and discharged her this morning without any restrictions, so things are now getting back to normal around here.

Vouge ~ Everyone is right...900 calories are not enough to get you through the day. You need at least 1200 calories a day and if you are going to go with a vegetarian diet you need to make sure you are getting enough protein. You were right to skip the cake, but try adding a protein snack like lowfat cottage cheese (1/2 cup 100 calories), a hard boiled egg (90 calories), or peanut butter (1 tablespoon = 90 calories).
  • Janice...PLEASE send TN some snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My bladder infection is doing a lot better. Going to lay down and watch "House Hunters" or "Nashville Star."

    Talk soon...
