Well Floozies, I'm back at it. After over 4 weeks of weight stall, I came home and hit the cookbooks. I have worked out a menu plan for the next two weeks that will allow me between 1200 and 1400 calories per day (if I don't have any wine). I haven't decided about the wine thing yet.
Here's my plan: Menu for January 27-February 11 2007 Breakfast—choose 1 1 cup egg whites + 1 Morning Star Farm Sausage 160 1 cup egg whites + 1 Morning Star Farm Sausage + ½ grapefruit 200 1 cup egg whites + 1 Morning Star Farm Sausage + ½ cup berries 200 1 cup oatmeal + ¼ cup raisins 230 Breakfast Burrito (whole wheat tortilla, ¼ cup egg whites, ½ serving of Morning Star Farms Crumbles, 2 T salsa, 2 T low fat cheese) 260 1 cup Raisin Bran + ½ cup skim milk 230 Lunch Cranberry Salad (2 cups torn baby greens, sprinkle of blue cheese, 1 T dried cranberries, 1 T pecans, ¼ cup cooked chicken breast, 1 ounce Trader Joe’s Raspberry dressing) 285 Snacks—choose up to 2 Tangelo 100 Apple 75 6 Triscuits + 1 wedge Laughing Cow Cheese light 155 Kashi roll 190 1 cup Fage fat free yogurt + ½ cup mashed banana 150 ¼ cup cashews 200 Dinner—choose 1 Santa Fe Chicken Chili 390 4 oz. chicken + ½ c brown rice + 1 cup broccoli and cauliflower 375 Italian Vegetable Pie + 1 cup green beans 260 Greek Steak (stuffed with spinach) + Parmesan Orzo 475 Pork Tenderloin with chutney + 1 c broccoli and cauliflower 375 Raspberry-Balsamic Chicken + 1 cup green beans 245 Turkey Burgers w/ Laughing Cow Cheese on Whole Wheat bun + vegetables and dip 375 Spiced Chicken and Barley + green beans 340 Fish Taco 300 If I eat the most caloric choices, I still come in at about 1400. I think this is workable. |
Wow, Allison. That salad at lunch sound delish! Are you sure you'll be getting enough calories in? I have never heard of Fage yogurt. Is it from a health food store?
|
I buy Fage at Trader Joe's. It's Greek yogurt which is strained and therefore thicker--kind of the consistency of sour cream or even thicker. At first I tried the flavored varieties which I didn't like at all, but the fat free plain is really good--it's much less tart than regular plain yogurt.
And yes, I checked. If I eat the highest calories on the list in a day, I come in just above 1400. Believe me, I tend toward the higher calorie options (I always have the yogurt and banana every day. I have a tendency to munch while cooking (fix my salad and I eat a piece of chicken and a pecan, at dinner, those darn cashews keep calling me from the pantry). So the menu plan is set low so if I cave into one or more of these "just put it in your mouth and be done with it" digressions, well, I'll still be okay for the day. Besides that, I will most likely be having a glass of red wine with dinner....... |
Hello
I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Today I have cleaned, washed clothes and went to the store. Trying to get it all done so I can relax tomorrow. The weekends go by too fast!!:faint: I've got a big pot of WW chicken & veg soup on the stove. :stir: It looks good. I hope it is! Has anyone seen the movie "Walk the Line?" I borrowed it from a friend and may curl up on the couch tonight and watch it. Have a good night... |
Sherry, I heard the movie is really good. Let us know what you think. I was all set to watch Nashville Star the other night, then I ended up with a phone call.
Allison, your plan sounds great! I wish I could be that organized! Will your family eat the same things you do on the plan? Shelley, I heard of the yogurt, but can't find it around here. They say once you try it, you will never go back to the other. Did you get your house insurance figured out? Well, guess what??? I got a raise on this weeks check from the store. Go figure! I assumed once I mentioned starting the other business they would start fretting if I was going to stay or not. Like the WHOPPING 25 cents an hour is going to keep me there. LOL! I'm a snot tonight...LOL! I wonder where Vouge is? Looks like we have a little chickie getting ready to celebrate a birthday... |
Sorry i was going through a relapse , I am trying to stay positive. Working hard and figuring out what is so great about me , i have relaized that everything is great about me.
Reasons why I am amazing. 1. I am damn smart 2. I have amazingly sultry brown eyes 3. I have a brain! Take that slutty cheerleader 4. I am going to be a professional something..... 5. I have had to work hard my whole life so I know the value and will not be in shock after high school like the slutty cheerleaders. 6. I think about other things than lipgloss and lipgloss 7. I am a damn good writer. 8. I am me ! Sherry- Walk the line is a very good movie. Me and my sister always joke around about that johnny cash song " Gonna burn burn burn , " Then in the deepest manly voice I can muster I go " The ring of fire , the ring of fire. " Then I annoy everyone and sing that song " I walked into a honkey tonk just the other day , I put a quater in the juke box just to hear it play. |
Sherry I really like the ring of fire. It is pretty sad the way he chose to live his life. I hope that you get to relax tomorrow minus the wee little walk you are going to take.
Gayle You are a little snotty tonight......good for you. You are going to great at your new business adventure. Now who's birthday could be coming up? Allison your salad does sound yummy. I second Shelley. Your menu you help you drop those pounds you want to. I did really good last week til yesterday then today wasn't that great either but not as bad as yesterday. Shelley how are you hanging in there? Any luck with Mike getting a job? I am sure that it had to be pretty stressful not knowing where all the money is going to come from. Vouge your back. I missed you. You are a wonderful person and I am glad that you believe it too! Good for you. Besides that you are beautiful too. How is that little nephew doing? I bet he is getting alot bigger. Cheryl thanks for starting a new thread for us. Are your potty problems resolved? Keep drinking water and eatting bran. We bought the bedding for the new bedroom and from that I picked out the wall color to match the sheets. It is a golden color with a slight beige mix. The bedding is two tone gold with stripes and a floweral disign on the comforter. The room will be pretty nuetral. We will assessorize with expresso furniture. Larry is painting the molding for the ceiling right now. It has come together pretty quickly. When we get home from our trip he will replace the windows and put up the oak trim. Before he leaves he wants to refinish the honey hardwood floors. Busy, busy, busy. Tomorrow the kids are coming down for dinner. It should be a nice day. I am cooking a sirloin roast with baked potatoes, broccoli and grape salad and garlic bread. Dessert is to die for (that is why I was naughty yesterday, I was a bowl licker) Trobolone Peanut Butter Cheese Cake. Yummy. I hope you all have a good night. |
vogue--I just asked you to come back on your other thread, and here you are!!!!! Welcome back!!! We really missed you!
gayle--yes, my family will eat what I prepare (or else!!!). Dee--your bedroom sounds lovely! I love decorating, but I never can make it look as nice as the magazines! Sometimes I think I have taste, but he outcome is never what I intend! |
Thanks for all of everyones support I need it when I go thorugh emotional periods like this but i have a quote I am living by right now ..." Cause I'm worth it . " I think everyone shoudl look at themselves every day and say thats. Also I am going to post my food journal here everyday along excersie just for fun and advice.
I found this dee you might be intrested in , I read it in an online article ...6. Include hot foods. If Mexican and Thai are favorites, you’re in luck. “Spicy food that has hot peppers in it appears to boost metabolism,” Lieberman says. so those caynenne pills must do something.... Also I wanted to add personally I like this quote from the musical chicago " Ohh Im no ones wife but oh I love my life and alll that jazzzzz..." - Velma Kelly. 10 grapes just snacking 3 baked chicken wings . No flour of any kind just seasoned and baked . pork roast dumplings corn Dee- Thanks yeah he was born 4 lbs like 6 oz. now he is 8 lbs 9 oz. + then some. He is really melting my heart. I think he is going to have icey blue eyes which is weird cause no one we know has blue eyes and my sister has green and my borther in law has dark brown. Hes cute. Dee cool with the decorating , I am doing some of my own. First today I took down all my fashion pictures , the models and that I dont need that image, its not the models I liked , it was the outfits I liked , but I dont need that negative image , then I am going to think about painting the room. its white and dull right now so I am going to have to do something , I realy want to get a big picture of the eiffile tower and do a french european thing. Thanks allison. |
Sunday weigh-in:
Stayed the same.No loss...No gain. It's my own fault though because there was 4 days that I didn't get my points in. You HAVE to eat them all to lose! I'll do better this week!! :D |
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS DEE!
Wishing you a very special day! You are a dear and I want only the best for you. Enjoy your day and I hope you receive royal treatment from the family. :queen: :woo: :balloons: :cofdate: :hb: |
I bet you will show a loss next week Sher. How was the soup?
Vouge, happy your back. We enjoy you here! Well, I need to get in bed, morning comes early around here. I wanted to post to Dee in case I didn't have time in the morning. |

Sherry-I agree with Gayle, you will see the lbs melt off soon enough!
Vogue-I'm so glad you are back. Stay here and we will keep your spirits up, even though we are mothering you!! I joined the Bob Green website just for the free trial period. I just want to check it out, since I really like the book. |
:woo: :woo: Happy Birthday Dee!!!!! :woo: :woo:
I hope your day is as "queen special" as you are!! Love ya!! :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: |
Dee--happy belated birthday!!!
Vogue--no thanks is necessary. We're all here to support one another. You'll do just fine. I'm feeling a bit off this morning. Don't know why. I got up bright and early and did my exercising and drank my water. After showering, I read the paper, fixed lunches and breakfast, and I went to wake DS and suddenly I don't feel so good. I'm shaky and feel kind of pukey. I ate my oatmeal, and still don't feel so good. It's like the 2 cups of coffee just isn't sitting well with me. I hope I feel better soon--I've got to go to work. I did okay with my menu this weekend. I followed it almost perfectly. Although I haven't added up my calories for Sunday, I came in at 1900 for Saturday. That was much higher than I anticipated--must have been the wine! Anyway, I only have half a bottle of wine in the house and I'm not going to buy any more. I need to see that this little change is the tweak I need to get off this plateau. Even though I've been the exact same weight for over 4 weeks now, I can tell that I need to lose--my tummy is pooching out over my undies! It used to be flat. Ugh. |
Happy Birthday Dee! I hope your day is full of fun and wonderful surprises! :hb: |
Princess Darlene.....
Happy birthday to the Royal Floozie!!
I hope all your birthday dreams and wishes are fulfilled!! :woo: :balloons: :beach:  |
Hey, everyone.
I'm sorry I've been MIA lately--it's been a hectic week. As you all know, Stewart and I went to Tunica to gamble last week-end for a late birthday celebration for me. Well, last Monday we got a phone call saying that they'd found his uncle dead. They thought he'd been dead for 24-48 hours before they found the body. So on Wednesday night we had a visitation at the funeral home and then on Thursday we had the funeral. On Saturday my sister woke me up with a phone call saying that my other sister's husband had been taken by ambulance to our local hospital but they were going to send him to a larger hospital further away. 3 and 1/2 hours later he arrived by ambulance at the larger hospital. The doctors at the larger hospital were M-A-D at the treatment (or lack of) that he had gotten at our local hospital. They said that if he'd been there 1 hour longer he would have died. As it is they are giving him less than a 50% chance of living. He's a diabetic (juvinile). Last summer he got a kidney transplant, did fine for 2 weeks then got a blood clot to the kidney and the kidney died. Ever since then it's been all down hill. His health has deteriorated AND he seems to have lost his will to fight. About a month ago they had to amputate his big toe because it had a sore that wouldn't heal and gangrene set up in it. They say that now he's had a heart attack and, because of the fluid, he probably suffered a stroke and brain damage (not getting enough oxygen). My mom said at the local hospital when she went in they had him lying flat on his back with an IV drip pumping MORE fluid into him. I swear. Anyway, that's what's up with me and why I've not been around very much. I'm hoping things will settle down soon. Love you all, Cheryl |
Happy Birthday Dee!! Hope it is a very special day!!!
Cheryl, Sorry to hear about your BIL! That is really something! Allison, hope you are feeling better! I had a good weekend. Saw the movie "The Queen". Loved it! Great movie. Also, made a good dinner and made extra so I have lunches all week! That is what I am going to try to do from now on, make a little bit extra for lunch during the week. |
Thanks! I am much better. I almost thought I should stay home all day, but thought better of it. I had one episode where I thought it was awful hot in the office, but that passed and I feel fine. I'm still thinking it was a weird reaction to the coffee on an empty stomach. Guess I'll be eating breakfast a little earlier tomorrow.
Just got my package of ZTrim in the mail. Gotta go check it out. |
Happy Birthday whoot whoot.
|
Cheryl, prayers go out to you and the family. Had Stewarts uncle been ill? I feel for you. Prayers also for BIL, is this the sister who lived with your folks for awhile? I hope he gets along ok, keep us updated. We will all understand if you need to be away from here for awhile.
|
Cheryl-Prayers being sent to you and your family. There has been so much sadness around right now. 3 others have relatives who have passed on the WW board.
That Bob Green website stinks! I signed up, and now I have decided that there isn't any more information on there than the book. I tried to cancel, but they say you have to call to cancel. They have already charged my account for the "free trial." |
Thank you all for the good thoughts.
Gayle, Stewart's uncle hadn't been "sick" per se, but he was an alcoholic. Vietnam Vet with (I think) undiagnosed PTSS. I think he literally drank himself to death. My BIL that's in the hospital is my other sister's husband. They've been married for 20+ years--he's 38 years old. Yesterday he opened his eyes and began responding to the family, especially my sis. The doctors said that they were amazed that he was still responsive after what happened. They upped his chances of living to 50%. He has a lot of people praying for him. With all my eating last week I gained 6.5 pounds. I was down 2 of those this week, but I'm still up 4 from when I began. I'm getting back into the "eating right groove" this week, so I expect to be down at LEAST those four next week. I've not been able to go to the gym, either, with all the death and sickness, so I'm hoping to get started exercising again. Cheryl |
Cheryl, hang in there. Things will get better. DH's uncle died very similar to Stewart's. It is hard having an alcoholic family member. I hope your BIL proves the doctor's wrong and pulls through.
Nothing much going on here.....there is no wine in the house.....I'll be really good and on track today. |
Cheryl ~ My sympathies go out to you and your family. I will also say a prayer for you BIL.
Vouge ~ I'm glad you're back! Keep up the good attitude! Gayle ~ How are you holding up with the new schedule? Are you ready to quit peddling booze yet? Shelley ~ Thanks for the heads up about the Bob Green website. I think I'd be calling them and telling them what I thought! Allison ~ Are you feeling better? |

4 myself- you lose 4 lbs in a week????
|
Thank you for all the wonderful birthday wishes.
I tried checking in in the morning but the site was down. It was a busy and wonderful day. First off I walked to body sculpt with Dez and then jogged a mile on the tread mill. After we walked home in the brutal wind we got ready to be pampered at the Clarion Spa. I had an awesome massage by a very good looking hunk. Gayle I was thinking of you when he was rubbing me up and down. I just had to giggle and the thought of in the massage bed next to me instead of Dez. You would have enjoyed it. We soaked in the mineral spa for a few hours and then headed home. As we jumped off the bus there was Larry at the corner. I got changed and we headed out to the Keg(dispite the name it is a very upper class restaurant) for dinner. My steak very good. While we were there I got a phone call from a customer of Larrys from Pennsilvania. He sang me happy birthday, he is a fun loving 70 year old womenizer but I love him and he has a soft spot for me. We stopped off at McPhilips Street Station casino to ride the Millennium. It was sold out so we came home and divulged in the rest of the Troblone Cheese Cake. It was a good pampering day. I will try to get back here and post to you all. It is going to be a busy week because of my preparations for leaving soon. |

Good news/Bad news:
Good--my menu plan seems to be working and I'm down 1.5 pounds so far!!! Bad--I didn't motivate this morning and didn't exercise so I missed my exercise goal. |
Just pick yourself up and keep going. I decided to only weigh in once a month. 1nce a week is too disocuraging. I did finally get a scale!!!!
So is anyone else going through a tough time right now? 1. my sister's husband decided for her that they were moving back to clearwater 50 miles away to the old peice of ( excuse my french ) crap apartment , with the baby. I am so mad! my parents depend on them to help pay the bills and we are struggling enough with them here! I cant even go get my drivers license because my parents cant pay their car insurance right now and had to turn in the licence plates to the DMV untill they get insurance and they decide NOW??? Let me correct myself , HE decided now, and she said ok with no problem. Did I mention after they moved out I saw on the news that a piece of the celing had fallen out of the celing and hit someone on the head at their same apartment after they moved out!! and they are bringing a 2 month old baby there to live???? I swear my sister is so stupid I am kinda glad shes leaving !!!!! I cant even talk to her right now. The other day when i was upset about having no friends really she goes dont worry I will always be here for you, the next day I find out shes moving out!!!!! Also I know we are going to be struggling to pay bills to the point where things are going to get shut off where my parents are going to have to ask me for money for bills just so we can survive , ( which I dont mind , its part of being a family ..besides they already owe me almost 300 dollars from last year but the thing is I dont expect to ever see that money again ) all because she decided to move out earlier than planned !!!! 2. My grandpa is in the hospital at 86 , he has bone cancer so severe that they x-ray or mri couldnt even detect his bones cause the cancer had spread so baddly, so now my mom is struggling to find money for a flight to chicago so she can see him before he dies. I know though that I will survive , I have had so much worse than any kid I know , I know there are kids worse than me , but I dont know them personally. I live my life with a struggle and when I hear things like this girl who turned 16 got a BMW for her first car and was complaing about the color or some kid say something like " I BETTER get a new Ipod for christmas " I want to slap them so hard and make them live a week in my life. I give my money i make to pay billls, I walk 2 miles home on the side of the road like a bum everyday , I work so hard in school and they have the nerve to act like getting a new car in blue instead of white is something to complain about! I know that because I live like I do , I will be so much more successful , and not have to have a reality check when I am 18 , cause even tho I am 16 , I deal with the stress of an adult and an teenager. They think cause they cant get something they want they should be angry and stressed, they need to try a day in my life!!! Ok done venting . Food log for today - 2 sclices of bread 120 peanut butter 200 jelly 50 sunny d 130 sausage biscuts 280 2 bananas 217= 997 so far . allison- youlle be ok anyways just workout tonight. 4myself- ah oh well , i am not trying to lose weight I am trying to be healthy. dee- glad you had a nice birthday. |
Vouge you are one mature young lady. I know things are tough right now and it doesn't seem fair but God has a plan and he will take care of you. If you were well off you wouldn't have the compasion and knowledge you have now for families that struggle. Hang in there and God bless you.
|
Vogue-You are such a smart young lady! You will go far with all of your knowledge. Although things are tough at home right now, I'm sure your parents are really trying. Keep your chin up. The school I work at has kids that have no roof over their heads at all, and going from foster home to foster home. Be thankful for what you have and just keep being as wonderful as you already are.
Allison-Yay for the loss! Ladies-I just want to tell you that everyone on the exercise thread last month did fantastic! I am so proud of everyone!! |
Allison i need to be where you are haha.
Thanks dee and shelly. If I remember right no one was on the excesice thread 2 months ago , I guess I should start posting there. |
vogue~last month was the first month that I posted on the exercise thread. I didn't make any of my goals, though. But it was a motivator. This month, I will continue to exercise, although not necessarily as often. I'm also adding some different things to my routine. Sorry to hear your sis is moving into that dump.
Dee~sounds like you had a wonderful birthday! Not much going on here--just working. |
Im sick today but as soon as I get better I will be posting in there. You know 2 days ago when that girl sneezed ON ME! I should have instantly began to disinfect myself ahhh oh well makes no diffrence now.
