Where is everyone! I may not be on much this week. We have Nutcracker rehearsals today and tomorrow then performances Wed-Sat!!

My parents are coming into town on Friday to go to a performance. Then, I am going to get back to eating and exercising on plan!:running:

heartmom 12-04-2006 12:49 PM

Hey, guys. Well, I had 1 illegal meal on Saturday. It was a double cheeseburger and large order of steak fries from the truckstop. But I really was strict with my eating otherwise. I even exercised every day. I weighed myself yesterday and it was at 163 which it was the day before. Well, yesterday I just wasn't hungry. All I ate was 2 chicken breasts and a SF ice cream bar for the day. I get up this morning and weigh and I'm up a pound. Go figure. 164 is still below my ticker weight but I saw 163 for 2 days in a row. I am a little puffy in the face today so it's probably just a little fluid. I think it was a delayed reaction to the cheeseburger and fries from Saturday night, lol. I'm going to see what I weigh tomorrow morning and reset my ticker. Is anyone else going to post on the exercise board this week? Come on ladies...even if it's only 15-20 minutes. Jackie- that's awesome. You may have been retaining more fluid than you thought. I always know when I retain, it shows up in my face the most. Which I hate because my eyes get all swollen and puffy and little. The crease in my lids just disappear. I also feel it doing my workouts. I can do the same workout but say I'm swollen a couple pounds the next day..it takes more out of me to move that extra weight. Alright, here's my menu:

BF: protein shake
Snack: 14 almonds
Lunch: big salad with veggies, a chicken breast, and salsa ranch dressing.
Dessert: lite yogurt
Afternoon snack: 14 almonds
Supper: cheeseburger on lite wheat bun, side salad

I estimated my calories to be around the 1300-1400 calorie range.
Alright, we're shorthanded and it's getting busy...check back later.

Melf 12-04-2006 01:12 PM

Good morning!
I know I haven't posted here the last 6 months or so but I'm really trying again & thought I'd check in with my old SB buddies. I've not been eating well all these months & I have gradually regained all my 60 lbs that I had worked so hard to lose. My scale is broken & I have no idea what I weigh right now. I'm going by the fit of my clothes & feel like I have dropped a few lbs over the last week or so since I'm back on track. The hardest part was to get the mindset that I COULD do this & that I WANTED to do it. Having passed that hurddle, I'm really trying to eat right but do not have the energy to exercise yet. I'll work on that. Hope to check in again later.

Heart, sounds like you're doing great with maintaining your weight. That's great!

Ellen 12-04-2006 01:20 PM

Greetings! I have been running around all day, trying to get some stuff done. Why does it feel like I am exhausted, but have accomplished very little?? Sigh... We have a meeting tonight for the elders and their wives, and I am taking dessert. I told them I would bring something 'diabetic friendly'. I bet they are all expecting something dull and made with artificial sweetners. Ha! I made my famous cheesecake with some sugar but mostly agave. I made the crust with whole wheat flour, too. I hope it turns out well...it usually does, but I tend to worry! :)

MELF: Good to see you ! You know getting on here helps keep you on track, so stick around this time!

HEART: I did post on the exercise board..just not much! :o I would get out and walk today, but it is dang cold! If I can wake up enough, I will do the WATP one or two mile.

Later!

Melf 12-04-2006 01:22 PM

Thanks Monet, I'll surely try my best.

Ellen 12-04-2006 10:42 PM

Wow...another slow day in SB land...

I just got in from the meeting. It went well. The cheesecake I made was popular...even though I think I could have cooked it a bit longer. One of the husbands took the leftover of one of them home to serve their company tomorrow night. Silly man! I had a smaller cake I made that we did not touch, so my kids will get some of that. :) And I may even eat some for breakfast. It is not at all sweet....

I am feeling very tired and a bit cranky. I need to crawl in bed real soon. I hope to see more of you tomorrow! BOB? SOLLY? TONI? FLUFF? There sure are a lot of MIAs!

ThinWithin225 12-05-2006 10:00 AM

Do you think that some of the MIA's are due to power outages associated with the big snow/ice storms?:snow4:

Solly 12-05-2006 12:00 PM

I'm here, but not for long. It was crazy yesterday and will be that way for awhile. I am off Thursday & Friday. DH & I are going shopping (for me) and other things I need to finish. Friday we are going to Versailles Ky to the Woodford Reserve Distillery and having a nice lunch. They have these fancy lunches every now and then. It should be fun.

Got to the gym last night and should get there tonight. Hopefully we can get up early Thurs & Fri and go too. Sunday we are going to an Italian rest for my DD birthday so I know that will be off plan. If one day is my only slip, that would be great.

Thin, good luck with your performance. I know you will do great.

Melf, So glad to see you back. Hop you stay with us now. It is all a mind game, when you come to that realization and get yourself in the right mind frame, you can do this. Good luck.

Monet, have you ever made Deb's cheesecake (assuming that is the one you made) ahead of time and froze it? I thought of doing it for Christmas, but would like to get it done a week early.

Heart, why are burgers and fries our biggest enemy. That is my temptation too. Since doing WW, we have been eating potatoes (measured and counted) and fries too. It has helped. One day off is not bad. You had a great week, you can do it again.

Last night for dinner we had a new recipe which was great and legal. Got it from Krafts foods. Pork chop and pear sauce. You browned the chops in a little ovv, took them out and put 2 T of balsmic vinegar and rosemary and onions and garlic in the skillet for 3 minutes. Put the chops back and added 2 T of b vinegar, can of pears with juice ( lite juice) and simmered them. They were so tender and a different meal for a change.

Tonight I am having some type of chicken in a foil packet. Let you know how that turns out.

I heard from Missy and her DH's cousin was killed in Iraq. He is having a hard time and could use lots of prayers for him and his family.

Got to go, hope to check in tomorrow, but may not have time. If not see you Monday.

Ellen 12-05-2006 12:29 PM

Hey everyone! I am waiting on James to get out of the shower. We are heading up to Dick Blick to get some supplies I need for my private art lessons I teach. It is a looonnggg way to go, but it can't be helped. :( There is not a place closer that carries what I need.

SOLLY: No, I do not use Deb's cheesecake recipe. I have a recipe I have used for years that I adapted to be legal. I see no reason why you can't make any cheesecake ahead of time and freeze it. Just wrap it well. Have a great weekend. We will miss you the rest of the week! Check in if you can. Thanks for letting us know about Missy and Terry's cousin. I will be praying for them.

BOB: Where are YOU???

TECH?? How about you? What's up? Did you start the job today? How was it?

heartmom 12-05-2006 12:39 PM

Hey, guys. I changed my ticker. 20 #'s till my goal weight. I do feel better now, not for sure if it's because of the weight loss or if it's because I feel motivated. Maybe both. Here's my menu for the day:

Pre-bf: grapefruit
BF(was running late): 2 boiled eggs and sliced turkey
Lunch: Big tuna salad with veggies, salsa ranch dressing. Crave Control yogurt for dessert
Snack: tangerine
Supper: probably 2 bowls of chili with beans and light sour cream

I WANT TO SEE THOSE 150's!!! Okay, I feel better now. Patience is not a virtue of mine. I know that slow and steady is the way to go. A couple pounds a week would be good. Oh yea, my DH brought home my ultimate fave last night(Peanut M&M's) and I wasn't even tempted...he ate them, lol. The board always slows down this time of year and then it will pick back up next month. I always get tickled about Walmart. They set up this big thing in the center full of baking stuff and whatever related to the holidays. Come the first of January they will take it all down to put up health and diet foods, lol. Alright, I have a customer...

THE BIG ORANGE BABE 12-05-2006 06:07 PM

I'M HERE!!!! EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!

Yesterday was my first day back to work and believe me when I got home, my big old arse was dragging behind me!!! My computer was dead in the water and I waited until 2:30 p.m. for it to be returned! Had I known that, I wouldn't have gone back until today! So, I had over 800 emails to go through and some phone messages and then NADA!!! I got maybe an hour of work done.

Today was a little better and I was busy all day. But I'm ready to go to bed!
I've gotten in the habit of staying up late and sleeping late and both Sunday and Monday night were fitful sleeps. I'm sure it will take me a while to get adjusted and back in the grind!

So FORGIVE ME for no replies...I promise I'll be better!

BOB

techwife 12-05-2006 07:31 PM

Just a quickie with no replies...will do them tomorrow.

First day on the job. I watched about three hours of videos, and got to do one haircut. I got a $5 tip, so that's a good sign...a nice older man that came in with his wife, daugther and grandson. But, I had a great time, anyhow. all the girls are about 15 years younger than I am (at least!!), but I think I'll fit in fine.

My Sabres game is on in a minute, so I gotta run! Will be back tomorrow...don't go back to work till Friday. I LIKE this schedule!! Something to do, make a couple bucks, without it taking over my life!! What could be more perfect?!

Melf 12-05-2006 10:21 PM

Another good day with my eating. Still not drinking enough but did better with that too. I'm off to bed.

Solly, thanks for the vote of confidence. I really do lack in that area, but I am thinking more positive these days about eating right & the reasons behind it.

Ellen 12-05-2006 11:01 PM

I am excited! My son got a call this afternoon from the manager at the company he has wanted to work for. They asked him to come in tomorrow for an interview! I am praying it goes well, and he gets the job. It may be part time, or even temporary, but the job is perfect for him, so even a few months of it would be nice. He really needs to start work, since I am getting to the point that I can not help him out any more with bills like his cellphone. He lives here, so he has food and shelter, but doesn't have a car. This job has an office close enough he could walk in a pinch. He mostly would need to travel, and he would love that.

Dinner tonight was a large bowl of broccoli/cheddar/chicken soup. It was really good...perfect for a cold day. I had some grapes, and a slice of legal cheesecake for dessert. ;)

Time for bed! Sweet dreams everyone!

MELF: It sure is good to see you posting!

TECH: I am glad the first day went well!

BOB: Gosh, I had gotten so used to you being home, I forgot you work! ;) Missed you...don't get lost on me.

HEART: WOo! hoO! Way to go on the loss! I am glad to hear you are so motivated! Send some my way! ;)

Melf 12-06-2006 11:44 AM

I've never been one to plan a menu ahead of time, at least not more than for the next meal. When I'm home alone I often don't know what the next meal should be so I quess that's not always a good idea.

Yesterday I had a delish low carb microwave muffin that I found a recipe for which consisted of 1 egg, 1/4 c. almond meal/flour & 1 Tbsp SF syrup, 1 tbsp butter & 1/4 tsp baking powder.

Lunch was a sandwich.

Last night I cooked venisen & pork together in a gravy, brown rice & some speckeled butter beans DH grew in the garden. It was really yummy.

I had oatmeal for breakfast today & 2 cups decaf coffee.

Not sure what lunch will be, but I think I'm doing ok & it's been 1 week since I'm back on track. I need to find a scale pretty soon so I can have some idea of what I weigh, but I do know my clothes is not nearly as tight as it had been!~

techwife 12-06-2006 12:24 PM

Just a quick check in...I just got back from coffee/breakfast with some of my friends around town...just in time for lunch :fr:

Melf: I've never been much of a menu planner, either. In my case, I just try and have tons of legal pantry items around to work (canned black beans or cannellini beans, WW pastas, brown rice, etc) with and plenty of fresh produce to have with it and frozen meat in the freezer. Having plenty of apples or pears or other snack-type fruit around is always a plus. Its GREAT to have you back, by the way!! Do we need to nail your feet to the wagon? ;)

Monet: Good luck on James' new job prospect. I dont' know who to be happier for, him or YOU! Your cheesecake sounds WONDERFUL!!

Bob: 800 emails is a LOT!! Did you get any actual work done today? Any of the productive type, that is?

Laurie: You seem to have really dug your heels in!! Keep up the good work!!

Solly: Be careful that the Italian restaurant doesn't trigger a holiday-wide slip up. You're right, one night of carb heaven is okay as long as it sticks to that one night. What happens in the Italian restaurant STAYS in the Italian restaurant... ;)

Anyhow...I have to go clean up the house and have some lunch...will talk to you guys later on...

Kris

Ellen 12-06-2006 02:10 PM

WoO hOo! He got the job!

He was hired as contract labor until early next year when they will be hiring a few permanent employees. Right now, they have enough work to keep him busy all month. The pay is really good, plus all expenses paid as he will be traveling all over the country! He starts with a three or four day trip to North Carolina, and will probably be sent to New York, Chicago and California before the end of the year. He is so excited, he is talking my ear off!

I just had a big bowl of leftover broccoli cheddar soup. Kaeleb is very fussy today...he may be teething already, poor thing. Life is otherwise hunky dorie around here. I have my private art student in about an hour, and need to think about what I am fixing for dinner before she gets here.
I want to fix something easy, as I won't feel like cooking much once she leaves.

Solly 12-06-2006 03:10 PM

No time to chat, just wanted to say hi and have a great week and weekend.

Monet, congrats to James

Tech, hope the job is working out.

Heart, ;dance: great job, keep on going. I want to see the 150's too.

Bob, that's a lot of emails. Get some rest.

Got to run.

heartmom 12-06-2006 03:42 PM

UGH!!! Last night I was suppossed to make the chili. Well, Robby got off early and he made it...with deer sausage! Deer sausage and me do not get along because of the high sodium content. I was expecting to see a loss this AM and instead a 2 pound gain showed up. That really put me in a bad mood. This is the best I've been in a long time. I'm eating legal, watching my starches, watching the calories, drinking tons of water, and this is my 10th straight day of exercise. And I gain. Yes, I know it's fluid and not actual fat but it still takes time to lose and sets me back. I know it will pass but I'm just aggravated at the moment. Today was my 1/2 day since I work 1/2 day on Saturday. So I cleaned up, made tonight's supper, did some laundry, and did the 4 mile WATP tape before coming in to work. Now I feel like crashing. Here's my menu for the day. I've increased my protein because it helps get rid of fluid.

BF: protein shake made with water
Snack: boiled egg
Lunch: I made an open-faced turkey burger(no cheese or mayo) using 1 sl Nature's Own Double Fiber Wheat bread, onion, and tomato. Had a cucumber and vinegar on the side.
Snack: will be 2 boiled egg whites and a slice of turkey
Supper: pork roast, green beans, and squash

The scale better be a little kinder tomorrow or it's getting the sledge hammer.

THE BIG ORANGE BABE 12-06-2006 04:55 PM

Y'all need to remember that I was home from work for two months! So that's really not a lot...most of them I could delete

I did get some work done yesterday and today. They gave my duties to someone else while I was gone so I've got the crap no one wants to do. I'm doing the ALL of the accounts that are 45 days and over. With United healthcare, I could do my whole job from their website....with this...I've got to be on the DANG PHONE all the time! My Boss did tell me that she is thinking about giving me the AETNA accounts. THEY HAVE A WEBSITE!! :)
We'll see. She wants me to work on these accounts this week. There are WAAAAYY over 1000 accounts that have never been worked...UGH!!!

I'm off to fix some supper. I'll check in later~!

BOB

GatorGal 12-06-2006 06:08 PM

Hello everyone. Welcome back to me! :)

Just wanted to check in and say "hi."

Eating has been good and I have not been counting calories or anything. Just trying to stay very aware of being hungry or satisfied. I probably am on "maintenance" for when I lose down to my goal. I am thinking of getting more strict calorie wise after we get back from our trip to Williamsburg for Christmas. I have some food plans that I wrote up about a year ago that have up to 30 gms. fiber, no sugars, lower fats and plenty of protein at about 1300 kilocalories per day. When things are more "normal" after the holiday season I'm thinking of starting on that. I don't want to sabotage myself with our weird schedule and meals right now. However, I am sticking to whole grains and no sugar so am happy about that.

I'm pleased to see everyone doing OK. Melf, welcome back. Nice to see you here.

Tonight we are having WW spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce and salad. Yum. Have a good evening and happy sugarbusting.

Toni48 12-06-2006 07:49 PM

Just a drive by. So sorry I've not been on. I'm doing so lousy since Thanksgiving and feeling so crappy because of it. Even my house is out of control. Everything goes haywire when I'm not in control of my eating. I'll try to post more and get back on plan. Hugs all.....:stress: :elf:

Ellen 12-06-2006 07:57 PM

Evening everyone! I had a blast with my little private art student. She is a sweet kid...kind of weird, but then most artsy kids are. She is VERY smart. I think she enjoyed the silk painting a lot. Her piece is drying and looking pretty good. She had a few places where the dyes ran too much, but it still looks pretty nice. I think she is going to give it to her grandmother. We may make another one for her to give her mom.

Dinner tonight was a beef and veggie stir fry. I used nappa cabbage, asparagus, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots and onions. I did not eat any rice, but left it all for the guys. I did have a slice of my diabetic cheesecake for dessert. It was very filling and now I am fighting my nightly quease from the Byetta. :bleh:

GATOR: Nice to see you posting. Williamsburg at Christmas I bet is pretty. My cousin lives right off the main old street there. You might walk by him and not even know it! :) I have a friend who lives in Hopewell who I have gone to visit a number of times and we always would go to Williamsburg for the day. We would stop at a restaurant in an old house called something like the Sasquahana House. Great ambiance! Food was so so...

BOB: Hope you can get that other job you wanted. Any word on that?

TECH: When you are done cleaning, come help me!

HEART: Patience! It will come back off! I need to try the two mile WATP. I have it...just have not needed to use it yet, since I enjoy walking outside. It has just gotten too cold, so I plan to use the dvd's more.... I bet the 4 mile one really kicks butt!

I need to go finish up Tom's lunch and snacks for tomorrow. I feel kind of yucky, but it has to be done. Tomorrow, I head up to the mountains, and will be working on BOB's commission. I have two others to complete...as well as Solly's. Lots to do!

 Talk to you all Friday, if I don't get back here before then!

THE BIG ORANGE BABE 12-07-2006 01:25 PM

Hey EVERY BUDDY!!

I'm home this afternoon after getting a butt load of work done this morning.
Kate is having eye surgery this afternoon. She has been plagued all of her adult life with retinal detachments and the last one she had didn't hold. The Doc is doing something where he has to remove all the jelly in that eyeball
before he can correct the problem. UGH!!

I'll check back in a little later.

BOB

heartmom 12-07-2006 01:51 PM

Hey everyone. I'm in a little better spirits today. The scale was back down, lol. 162...so the fluid and finally a pound down. So it's taken me 4 days to officially lose a pound. That kinda sucks. I'm used to losing it faster. Maybe I've just reached that point where it will be slow. Long as it is steady I won't complain too much. Yesterday, I drank so much water my eyeballs were floating. You guys know that I normally drink a ton of water anyway. I did my workout this morning. I have to go in early the next 2 days. I plan on getting up before 5 tomorrow to do a 30 minute. But I may skip Saturday. MONET- The WATP tapes burn more calories than just getting out there and walking because your using more muscles. Tomorrow I'm going to use her 2 mile deluxe. It's a little dated but it uses the WATP moves plus aerobics. Alright, here's my menu for the day:

BF-was a protein shake
Snack: 2 boiled egg whites and a slice of turkey
Lunch: I have a big salad made with LS tuna, a little cheese, a whole boiled egg, and veggies. I put vinegar on it because I'm trying to skip the salty dressing. But if it tastes like doodie, then I'll add some dressing.
Snack: 8 almonds and yogurt
Supper: I'm not sure. They're eating leftovers. I think I will eat a scrambled egg and mayo sandwich

I've been trying to type this for 2 hours! Guess I better go.

Melf 12-07-2006 04:32 PM

Hi everyone. It's cold here in Cajun Country today. The wind cuts right through you. We're taking the grandsons to see Santa at DH's work place about 5pm. They do that each year & take pictures, give them cookies & milk, a little gift & last year they gave us an 8X10 picture of the 3 of them taken with Santa. I hate to get out in the cold, but don't want to dissappoint them either soooo....

I went with DD to her doctor visit this am to get the stitches out & get her work release. The pathology report said NO CANCER this time. We're sooo relieved. She had the right thyroid removed Feb 2005 & it was Papillary Carcinoma. At that time she also had several small nodules in the left. By this summer they were growing & found to be larger than they wanted, so she had the left thyroid done last Monday.

We stopped at Chick Fillet after the appt to get her some breakfast but I refused anything. I had a 1-carb muffin for breakfast, low carb soup & a wrap for lunch with turkey/cheese. 1 satsuma & a cup of red raspberry tea since then. I was wanting something to snack on & I found that DH had a couple of oatmeal snack cakes left in a box on the cabinet. I reached in the box, pulled one out slowly then looked at the info on the box & found that it was 370 calories & 30 gms of sugar. I almost dropped my teeth, put it back in the box & fixed a my cup of tea. I am so proud of me!

Hi Gator!! Hi BOB, Toni, Monet, Solly, Heart & Techwife!! Stay warm everyone! It's suppose to be 26 here in the morning. BURRRR!!

THE BIG ORANGE BABE 12-07-2006 06:46 PM

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!

Just got KATE home from the hospital. She says she is in a lot of pain, but she has taken a pain pill and the nurse told her to take another one when she goes to bed. I have to have her at the Drs by 8 a.m. RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC!!! Then I'll go on in to work after that.

She said she didn't see the Doc after surgery so she doesn't know everything that was done. I'll get to hear that in the morning and the instructions. I'll let y'all know.

BOB

fruitloupe 12-08-2006 07:18 AM

Hey Friends...

Hope all of you are doing well....I haven't been around in a while and I miss y'all! Terry has been playing on the computer lots which is unusual so I don't have as much time in the evenings!

My eating has been terrible....I just can't help myself. I'm hoping to wake up one day and say - OK - this is the day!!!

Terry's cousin was killed in Iraq Monday (NARDA, MELF, and SOLLY already know this - thanks again for all of the prayers.) It's really sad because he was a single father of a 4 year old beautiful little boy. We are waiting on the body now - the funeral should be next week.

MELF: SO good to see you back on the board!

Well, I'm off to wake up Alexis! TGIF!

Missy

ThinWithin225 12-08-2006 10:57 AM

Hello from Nutcracker world!! I am still hanging in there. Two nights of rehearsal and two performances under our belts now and two more to go. I woke up this morning with very puffy eyes, probably due to tiredness! At least tomorrow's Saturday and we do not have to get up as early. YEA!! My parents are coming into town to stay with us for the weekend and will be attending tonight's performance. I have been OK so far as far as nerves go, but find myself getting anxious about tonight because I have so many coming to see Rachel and me! Rachel has been doing beautifully and the director has a snow machine so it actually "snows" onstage while they are dancing. It is awesome! I am going to see if I can let Sean try out his photography skills tonight and get some pics for me to post. He will have to make due without a flash, so we'll see how it goes!

Melf 12-08-2006 01:19 PM

Missy, good to hear from you too.

Thin, enjoy your Nutcracker run while it lasts! Our kids grow up tooooo fast.

I'm afraid I had some cookies with the grandsons last night when we went to see Santa, but cut back to a very skimpy supper to make up for it. Also cutting back today because we have a Pastor's Appreciation Banquet tonight & DH's company Christmas buffet tomorrow night & I sure want to be able to partake there because it's catered & always sooooo good. I will however try to strict myself where ever possible.

Well it's not much today but I have a friend that died earlier this week whose grandson & son were in Iraq so they held the wake till this evening & funeral tomorrow am. So I may not be able to check in much the next few days.

Stay warm everyone! it's still just 40 degrees here at noon & expecting about 24 in the am. Yikes!!! That is cold for this area & then when you mix it with the gulf humidty it just cuts to the bone.

Hey, everyone! I am back from North Georgia and the studio. It was not a hugely productive week. I got BOB's mugs done, and now they have to dry and be fired so I can glaze them Tennessee orange for her! ;) We had a kiln disaster...two large pieces blew up in the bisque fire and took out everything around them, which was just about everything in the kiln. I lost Solly's piece, and three or four Christmas presents. My partner lost a bunch of stuff too. She felt bad because she loaded it and ran the firing, and I felt bad because the pieces that caused the mess were mine. Oh well, you win a few and lose a few.

I have to go shopping for the concert tonight, then get over to the church and try and clean things up in the fellowship hall. I feel a bit stressed about it. The girl singing wanted to move the concert to the sanctuary, but they laid a new tile floor this week and we can't walk on the tile yet. What a mess!

James started his new job today. He is driving to Augusta, Columbia and Charleston SC, and will be gone until Tuesday. His birthday is tomorrow, and I feel a wee bit melancholy that my baby will not be home for his birthday...for the first time in his 28 year life! :) I am so happy for him though...he is so excited about the job, and he will be able to afford Christmas presents now, which was worrying him earlier.

I need to go find some lunch and go to the store. I will check in later.

Thin: What a beautiful ballerina you have!!

Just a quick check in. I LOVE MY JOB!! Never since I've been a hairdresser have I been so stoked about cutting hair! They have a really nice system going adn all the stylists I've met so far are great to work with. I go in today at 3pm and I am all dressed and pretty much ready to go. Kind of pacing to get out of here. I'm going to go early to go to the beauty supply and buy a new pair of scissors. :D

Will chat again tomorrow!!

Hey everyone! Tom and I went to our favorite Mexican restaurant tonight. I did eat a few chips, and had a taco, an enchilada and a poblano chili relleno. Not too bad...I could not finish my stuff, so I gave some of it to Tom. Once we got home, we watched the Pride and Prejudice that came out recently with Keira Knightly. It was ok. No where near the quality of A&E's P&P, however. I was happy to watch it, but have no desire to see it again. A&E's version on the other hand, I have watched all six hours of at least 20 times.

We went and cut a Christmas tree today. What an ordeal! Getting this crew up and out is like pulling teeth....painful! We were much later than we intended to be, and it was so frustrating! We did get a pretty cedar though, for a fairly good price. It was from a tree farm very close to our older daughter's house, up near Gainesville. It has to be the most conically shaped tree I have ever seen! haha! It almost looks like a cartoon style tree. Very triangular.

THIN: Awesome! Rachel is a beauty with such a big smile! And how wonderful to put a face to you! Thank you for posting the pictures.

TECH: That is awesome that you love the job! I got a package in the mail today! How thoughtful you are! And talented! They are beautiful!

BOB: Hand over the recipe for the soup in the pressure cooker...I am always looking for ways to use my pressure cooker you know! :)

Monet, didn't make the soup in the PC, just the soup bone for about 40 minutes. I threw in a package of stew cut beef to have more meat. Cooked it in beef broth (97% fat free), threw in three or four cut up onions, more beef broth, large can of crushed tomatoes, large can of whole tomatoes (mushed them up with my hands) 4 cans of (no added salt) VEG-ALL and a package of soup mix (for the extra flavor). I let it simmer for about two hours, and OH MY GAWD...it's SO GOOD!!

THIN...That would be wonderful if he can figure out how to get it on the net for us to see! She looked so lovely in her costume. How did she do with the performance?

Getting ready to take Kate to get her hair washed. She can do that, but if we did it here there's the danger of getting water in her eye. After that I've got so much to do...I probably won't be around this afternoon.

MONET....Instead of shipping those to me, I'm going to give you my almost SIL's address to send them to. He'll be there for Christmas...

Didn't do too bad last night for the Christmas party. Served once, small plate, no desserts. I have GOT to find a scale to get a weight soon. I'm pretty sure I will see a loss.

We're off to see a play in Lafayette. See ya'll later.
