Hi Beach: People get us confused with South Beach a lot. We're Sugar Busters. BUT, I think I can answer your question. My guess is that it would be 'okay' to have the Lipton iced teas as long as they're diet...BUT, they are loaded with chemicals and such, so what I do it buy green tea bags and make my own green tea and pour it over ice and add splenda. Much more refreshing, IMHO, and much better for you. Phase one is really restrictive and you want to watch caffiene as it makes you more hungry, I've been told and believe. I don't know the caffiene content of the LIpton iced teas, but Lipton also puts out a box of decaf green tea bags that make great hot tea that you can pour over ice! The antioxidants in it alone are wonderful for you AND you avoid all the chemicals. And in the winter the green tea is nice to warm up with. I'd give it a try...I love my iced green tea with splenda. I've gotten some orange tea, is it citrus zinger?...from celestial seasonings and in my hot brewed iced green tea, I toss in a citrus teabag just for kicks and it adds a different kick to the green tea. You can have fun with it.

Good luck!

I'm pretty sure it's not allowed for Phase 1. Try green tea like techwife said. The SB board is before the low carbohydrate plans.

well, first off "oops and sorry for posting on the wrong board" like i said, it's been awhile since i've been here. guess i need to find my way around again.
i have refrained from the lipton green tea in the bottle since i was not sure. like tech said, it is loaded with other chemicals and i do have tea bags of green tea i have been using instead with splenda like tech recommended. i just love the taste of the citrus in the lipton, but i can' live without.

thanks for listening....i'll go find the south beach board now!! lol

Lucyee, join us on the South Beach forum, this is sugar buster. South Beach forum is before the low-carb lifestyle forum. The book is an easy read, read it. For two weeks, u're on phase 1, no fruits, complex carbs and no refined sugars on Phase 1. U should expect to lose 8-13lbs.
