I notice that sugar is the main staple in ym diet and when I look at the ingredients on some foods..I cna't escape sugar..I know there are articifical sweetners but how do I know which one is healthy and how do I know I'm not allergic to them?
I'm feeling a subliminal motivation I just need some really god motivation..anybody have any ideas??
  • Hi there! I recommend going cold turkey!

If you have not read the book, it would help to do so. You can get it from your library if you don't want to buy it. The first few days can be kind of tough dealing with cravings and getting over the sugar withdrawal, but once you get through it, its SO much easier! I find having lots of legal alternatives helps. I would snack on triscuits, and cheese, or veggies and low fat dip. Drinking lots of water helps too.

I use a bit of splenda, but I try not to use aspartame. I also use agave syrup, which has a low glycemic index and is ok in moderation. Its hard to find, but I get it at Whole Foods, and use it in my coffee and tea.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I am sure you will get lots of great advice from the other sugarbusters on here. Most of us read and post in the weekly support thread, so I hope you will join us there!
