I think dried fruits are allowed on Sugar Busters, but, like you said, there should be no added sugar (pineapple is the usual culprit) and try to eat a very small amount each day... I have raisins baked into my whole wheat bread once in a while...

Some dried fruits are ok...apricots for example. Raisins are NOT ok. They are very high glycemic. When using dried fruits, pay special attention to the serving size. I know I can snarf down a huge handful of dried apricots, never paying attention to the fact that a serving is like two!

South Beach diet seems to be a combination of Atkins in the first phase, and Sugarbusters in the second phase. ( I sure wish I had thought of combining the two, writing a book and becoming rich off it!) I have only skimmed the South Beach book, and read some things on it. Plus I cook dinner for my massage therapists family once a week and they all are on South Beach. I just cook what I would for my family on Sugarbusters, and they have not complained yet!

If you are interested in Sugarbusters, come join us on the weekly support board. There are a lot of us over there, and you can get any questions you have answered quickly.
