Good morning.
Nothing exciting going on with me. We tried to take a walk last night. My legs are aching so badly. Feels like I have climbed mountains. I guess it is from the bone marrow shot. They are still hurting today. If not better by tomorrow, I will call the Dr. to see if I can take something. Funny, I haven't had any problems with the other 2. We did finish our 2 mile walk. I got one of those pedometers from McDonalds. Don't know how accurate they are. I am measuring my steps today, but I'm also trying not to walk much. I went to bed at 8:00 last night. that has never happened before. I could hardly drag myself out at 6:00 this morning though. I may call a friend who has a hot tub and go soak in it tonight. Monet, my DH never wants to skip meals either. He eats all the time. Always cleans up what we leave behind. He is a skinny guy too (except for his beer belly). Not fair. Hope your knees don't hurt today. Tranquil, hope these buyers are the ones. Fruit, I'm sure losing wt will help in getting preggo. Enjoy the summer before you get put on bed rest. Your weekend sounds like so much fun. I'm jealous. Yes I have beeen a little sick. Not too bad though. Usually have one bad week and 2 good ones. Ashley hasn't been on lately. She is training for a triathalon (can you even imagine). Oh, thought you all would get a kick out of this, my breakfast this morning was 2 bowls of sf chocolate pudding and 6 pepperonis. Strange, I know. Looking for something that tastes good and OP. Have a great day. Jackie |
JACK-K: Oh my! That breakfast sounds horrible! HAHA! I can't even imagine eating those things together! HAHAHA! Sorry to hear that you have been feeling bad. I know that the treatments tend to make you sick so I was wondering how you were handling them. The hot tub sounds like a good plan - go soak those legs in there and you are sure to be feeling better in no time! I can't believe that Ashley is doing a triathalon - good for her!!! She is doing soooo good!! Well, I may not be back on here until sunday - I'll see how much time I have later on today.
You know what I saw on the news this morning....that Zoloft can cause weight gain. It causes your appetite to increase and metabolism to decrease. Well, I've gained 40 pounds since I started zoloft last year and I don't think that I've done any major changes in my diet to gain that weight so I'm getting off of it to see what happens. Just a quick check in. I had an ultrasound done this morning to rule out any cysts, or fibroid tumors. The technician told me there was nothing worrisome, but I will wait to hear from the doctor on that. I almost wish there was something so I could go have the thing removed. :)
I did not get a chance for breakfast before I went and got home ravenous. I just ate a pb&j, and had a glass of 100% juice cranberry blend. Cranberry helps stop uti's and I just felt like I was getting one. I am making 8 9x12 casseroles for a ministry that has a mission trip group coming in this weekend. They are going to spend a week working with them in an apartment complex in town. The house smells like chicken! I did not turn the air on, since it was so cool today. Maybe tomorrow. In the meantime, I am going to try and get some baking done, and make beef jerky. Off to get something done! Later! |
MISSY....WAIT!!!
DO NOT STOP THAT MED WITHOUT INSTRUCTIONS FROM YOUR DOCTOR!~!!! It can and will send you into a tail spin! My Doc put me on Wellbutrin with my Paxil and has just upped my dose to 300 mg along with the 30 mg of Paxil that I take daily. He has also put me on a low carb way of eating... JACKIE....BETTING ON SMARTY???? Sorry you're having a rough time with you legs...hope the hot tub did you some good...or will do you some good. MONET.... I'm going to fix corned beef and cabbage for supper....so I better get started. BOB |
Evening All
I found the following article on another website and thought it was worth sharing with you, particularly something for JACK-K to be aware of. Quote:
BOB - Corned beef and cabbage sounds good. I haven't had that in ages. Marie. |
Hello ladies,
Checked in late last night, not too many posts this week. What's up?? Had a busy day working in the yard yesterday and today. Was able to get in 3 miles again with my Buddy dog. He is so funny....he knows that we are going for our walk when he see me putting on my walking shoes....he stands at attention at the front door and won't leave until we head out the door. Then my poor little girl, she howls the whole time we are gone. She has such short little legs and is not a spring chicken anymore, that I know she wouldn't be able to go the distance with us. I try to put my gear out in the living room on Monday and Wednesday nights so that we can try and sneak away in the mornings, but......she was right there this morning howling before we even got out the door. Dh tries to keep her occupied, but he says she howls until we return. Silly girl. The weather here has been gorgeous. 80 degrees today, and supposed to be nice until Sunday. We sure need some heat for my garden. The Green Beans are up now, but only one Summer Squash has broken ground. If they don't do anything by Monday, I will head into town and pick up some plants. Gotta have some squash this summer!! I was still up 2 pounds yesterday for WIW. I am sure it is mostly water, but I did eat that cake on Saturday, and then the Brunch on Sunday. Eating has been great this week, and tomorrow will be day 5 of exercise. Wooo Hooo! I would like to share a couple of summer salads with you all. The first is a concoction that my BIL threw together. He doesn't like many vegetables, so this is what he eats for a salad. It really is quite good. A bit high in fat, but occasionally it would be fine. Cottage Cheese Grated Cheddar (mostly for some color) Sliced Black Olives Bacon Bits, all this is just mixed together. This would be done to individual taste on the amounts. Summer Jello Salad 16 oz FF cottage cheese 1 small box SF Strawberry Jello 1 pint sliced strawberries Cool Whip Mix the dry Jello with the Cottage Cheese, add sliced strawberries, fold in Cool Whip. This is a very yummy dessert like salad. I don't use quite the whole container of CW, but you can. Tastes will vary. These are both very good salads, hope that you enjoy them. Will try to get on tomorrow and get in some replies. |
Happy Friday!
For a short week, it has been a long one. Feeling better today (Mentally too). My legs still hurt, but not near as bad. Sat in the whirlpool tub for awhile last night. Didn't make it to the hot tub. Please say some prayers this morning for my BIL, he is undergoing a triple bypass right now. No big plans for the weekend. Sunday, we have to move my DD out of your college apt. August we will move her into another one. 4 years, 4 moves. Ugh! Have a great day. Jackie |
Opps!
Forgot to put in my replies. Rosalie, thanks for the article. I am worried about getting it. I have switched to a small purse and try to watch carrying things. It is hard. I still tend to put my purse on my left arm. I am most concerned about flying. I hear that has a big affect on it. BOB, not betting on Smarty. Wouldn't win much anyway. I never like the horse to start with. Guess that shows what I know about horses. I hope he wins though. We need anothe triple crown winner. Monet, glad the ultrasound was ok. what kind of casserole? Fruit, you had better check with your dr first before dropping the drug. Teensy, WTG on 5 days of exercising. I hoping for that next week. My DD 's beagle starts howling as soon as you shut the door. Hopefully he quits after we leave. |
Hi:
I just wanted to pop on and say hello. I wrote a huge post yesterday, replying to everyone, and lost it again! My computer is a piece of crap. I am eating good and exercising; I'm just staying busy with the kids, housecleaning, dr. appts, outings, etc...today we have a really busy day. My sister and her family are in from San Diego to do a pre-drywall inspection of their home. We will see them for a little bit on the far west side of the valley, and then will be driving to the complete oppostie end of the valley to see one of Britt's friends. Better go get the girls dressed and ready to go! Take care! Hope everyone has an OP weekend! Nat |
Hi everyone. Im using the computer at the home of my hosts. They are a well to do family in a very nice suburb of Paris. They are very nice, but, of course, have their busy life. I see them and visit with them in the evenings.
The course here is very hard. My brain is so fried that sometimes I cant even think of a word I want to use in English. I also feel discouraged at times. Now that I am here and am hearing the people talk, I realize how badly I prounounce this language. I am hoping that things get better in that area. Today I had my first croissant. I have to tell you that they are so much better than the ones in the US that there is absolutely no comparison. I was planning on having only one during my entire stay in Paris, but I have to say that it was so good that I may change my mind. I would even have to say that it was worth the calories! It was so light and SO crispy, not like those soggy and limp things they sell at home. The weather has been cool, gray, and sometimes rainy. I miss the sun and hope that I will get to see it soon. I have a free weekend and will probably spend some time sleeping as I am utterly exhausted. I get to bed much later each night than at home and have been getting only about 6 hours of sleep each night. If it is nice, maybe Ill try to explore some little neighborhoods. I also bought a train ticket and will be visiting some french friends of mine who live near Limoges. They dont speak any English, but I should get along OK. Well, Im gonna check out. I didnùt read page 1, so hope I didn,t miss too much news. Take care everyone. Ill try to get back on the computer tomorrow but dont know if I cqn. The computers at the school are very hard to get to as there are so many students who are waiting to use them. Au Revoir. |
EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!
I'm on the run, but wanted to give you your movie picks for the weekend: MONSTER EUROTRIP DEVILS POND ALL THE QUEEN'S MEN OUT OF THE ASHES LEO I'll check in with y'all later BOB |
Just a quick post before bed. Our Jamaican friends came over for dinner tonight. I was expecting two single guys too, but they got hung up in really bad traffic on the perimeter on the way over here, due to an accident, and just went back home. It took them two hours to travel two exits, and they figured they would not get here for another two hours...and had to leave early so they just skipped it. It was ok. The husband of the Jamaicans is a calligrapher, and we played a bit with silk and my fabric crayons.
Good night everyone! Sweet dreams! |
Goodness, this is sad. NO one has posted since I did last night.
I am planning on heading out to Curves in a few minutes. I may skip it though. My knees are feeling really good and I hate to mess them up by working out. :( Maybe I will go walk with Tom instead. I am plotting and planning my next silk, and having a lot of fun doing so. Unfortunately, I am going to have to interrupt my dreaming to make a wedding cake for next weekend. I am NOT looking forward to it! I have one more scheduled for July 10, then I hope I can have a nice long break from them. Not much else is going on here. Its a beautiful sunny morning, and the house is nice and cool (yay!) and I can hear birds singing. I just had three eggs, two pieces of toast, and coffee for breakfast. I like a big breakfast on the weekends... Tonight we are going to a party that a young couple from church is having to celebrate another couple's engagement. It ought to be fun. Maybe I will wear one of my silk scarves... Have a good weekend! |
Good Morning everyone:
I got home awhile ago from the gym and running a few errands. I had to return some movies to Blockbuster, go by Target for a few things and Hi-Health to get some Protein Powder for DH; he's losing too much weight and I've got to try to fatten him up a bit. I'm starting to worry that there could be an underlying health problem, and he is going to schedule his physical for sometime next week. He is usually between 175-180, and has been weighing in in the mornings around 166-168#'s. He is very active, and has cut a lot of sugar out of his diet, but can't imagine it making that much of a difference in someone who didn't have any weight to lose anyway! He's not even close to being strict like I am. He's basically cut out his sodas, and processed foods. He even eats lunch out everyday! Anyway...we will be going to church this evening, and then not too much planned for tomorrow. I might take the girls to the outlet mall with me to get some underwear (they should love that). For any of you who like to wear a thong, Jockey has a new low-rise one that is ultra comfortable (believe it or not), and it falls below your belly button. They also have a full cover underwear that is really comfy too. I like to wear those to bed at night...(probably tmi, eh?). Anyway, I hope you all have a fantastic, OP weekend!!! Take care, Nat |
Morning! We had a blast last night. We went to an engagement party for a young couple from church. It was a great group of folks there, and when we got home, Tom commented that we were to oldest ones there! haha! I adore the couple that had the party too. One of my old students was there. Its so funny seeing him now, after all these years, in a social setting. I had him in an art class when he was in sixth, and seventh grade. Now he is married and working in the music field. There was another newly engaged couple there in addition to the honorees, and another couple that seems to be on the verge of getting engaged. How fun! Thankfully, no one has asked me to make their wedding cake! haha!
I am slowly feeling a bit more energetic now that my thyroid meds have been increased. Its far from good, yet. PANCHO: TMI!! :) My girls keep trying to get me to try thongs...no success yet! Its good that your hubby is going to get his physical. Losing weight for no reason is not good. I hope its nothing serious. Keep us posted... Well, my coffee cup is empty. Time for a refill! |
