Morning! Just finished a nice legal breakfast of eggs, a slice of bacon and ww toast.

Not sure what I need to get done today, but I think I am going to chill, and do some painting. My MIL is leaving in a few.... ;)

Will check in later!

HiedeeHo All!

Nothing in particular planned. Want to do some cleaning.

TRANQUIL: Two booboos! I swear Mary said Sabrina and Zach were meeting her (maybe she had a senior moment). And I spelled Zach wrong. Sorry about all that. Must be a senior moment. I very good with those! I'm sure she will appreciate anything you find. You are right I should get out in the pool. Have been lazy about that as it hurts to dress and undress, but I am doing better so guess I need to get my backfield in motion! I once posted a Zucchini Parm recipe. So easy, slice the zucchini in rounds layer with cheese and sauce bake. Delicious. No frying or extra work.

MONET: Hope the AC is fixed. I don't know how our ancestors stood Louisiana before AC. It is soooo hot and HUMID!

Another thing I have to do is mail in rebate offers on computer. Better get busy.

Will check in later.

Take care,
Shirley

HiedeeHo All!

Just a quick peek in.

Another senior moment - TRANQUIL is Sabrina. If I could read I'd know that, also should have known after all this time without reading names.

MONET: Don't you hate it when businesses give you a window of time and you have to sit around with your hand on your a-- waiting for them.:censored: Maybe we should give them a window of time when we will pay!

I have not posted a FF in a long time, how about if it's a day late:

FRIENDSHIP PRAYER

A big city lawyer went duck hunting in rural Texas. He shot and dropped a bird, but it fell into a farmer's field on the other side of a fence. As the lawyer climbed over the fence, an elderly farmer drove up on his tractor and asked him what he was doing.

The litigator responded, "I shot a duck and it fell in this field, and now I'm going to retrieve it."

The old farmer replied, "This is my property, and you are not coming over here."

The indignant lawyer said, "I am one of the best trial attorneys in the United States and, if you don't let me get that duck, I'll sue you and take everything you own.

The old farmer smiled and said, "Apparently, you don't know how we settle disputes in Texas. We settle small disagreements like this with the "Three Kick Rule."

The lawyer asked, "What is the Three Kick Rule?"

The Farmer replied, "Well, because the dispute occurs on my land, first I kick you three times and then you kick me three times and so on back and forth until someone gives up."

The attorney quickly thought about the proposed contest and decided that he could easily take the old codger. He agreed to abide by the local custom.

The old farmer slowly climbed down from the tractor and walked up to the attorney. His first kick planted the toe of his heavy steel toed work boot into the lawyer's groin and dropped him to his knees. His second kick to the midriff sent the lawyer's last meal gushing from his mouth. The lawyer was on all fours when the farmer's third kick to his rear end sent him face-first into a fresh cow pie.

The lawyer summoned every bit of his will and managed to get to his feet. Wiping his face with the arm of his jacket, he said, "Okay, Now it's my turn."

[I love this part....]

The old farmer smiled and said, "Naw, I give up. You can have the duck."

There is a story about a popular young Baptist preacher, who on Sunday morning announces to the congregation that he will not renew his contract, and is moving on to a larger congregation that will pay him more. There is a hush. No one wants him to leave.

Brother William (Bubba) Scoles, who owns several car dealer-ships, stands up and announces, "If the preacher stays, I'll provide him with a new sedan every year, and his lovely wife with a minivan, to transport their children!" The congregation amens, and applauds.

Brother Billy Bob Tindall, the entrepreneur and investor, stands and says, "If the preacher stays, I'll double his salary, and establish a foundation to guarantee the college education of his children!!" More amens and applause.

Ella May Rouse, aged 70, stands and announces, "If the preacher stays, I'll give him sex!"

There is a hush. The preacher, blushing, asks, "Sister Ella May, whatever possessed you to say that?"

Sister Ella May answers, "I just asked my husband how we could help, and he said, 'Screw the preacher.'"

The Four Leaf Clover

Patrick O'Reilly was lucky. Since the day he had found that four leaf clover, everything good seemed to come his way. He had met the wonderful Rosie, and after a whirlwind romance, they were married. And now, a year later, he was the proud father of beautiful twins, a boy and a girl.

At work, the story was the same. He had been promoted and had received a substantial raise, and now the firm had come up with a profit sharing plan.

Patty was certain his good fortune was due to his 4-leaf clover. Everywhere he went, he was certain to be carrying the talisman in his suit pocket.

One morning, Patty could not find the clover. He searched the house, but it was not there. In panic, he tried to recall when he had last seen it. He finally recalled it was in his gray suit that he had dropped off at the dry cleaners.

He rushed to the cleaners only to find that the work had been completed and his suit was ready to be picked up. He searched the suit and found the 4-leaf clover, still in one piece but now flattened from the dry cleaning.

From that day on, Patty's fortunes changed. Life was good but was no longer perfect. The little inconveniences were always there.

He had a flat tire as he was driving to an important meeting. The twins developed measles when his boss and his wife were over for dinner.

No, Patty's life had changed. He still carried the amulet, but he was certainly not living under the silver lining he was used to and had come to expect.

Finally, he had had enough. He visited the parish priest to see if he could help him understand what had happened.

"This certainly was to be expected," he was told. "You should have known ... One should never press one's luck."

A female TV reporter arranged for an interview with a farmer living just outside of Cornerbrook, Newfoundland, to find the main cause of the Mad Cow Disease.

"Good evening, sir. I am here to collect information on the possible source of Mad Cow Disease. Can you offer any reason for this disease?"

The Farmer stared at the reporter and said, "Do you know that a bull mounts a cow only once a year?"

The lady reporter, obviously embarrassed, replied, "Well, sir, that's a new piece of information, but what's the relation between this phenomenon and Mad Cow disease?"

"And, madam, do you know that we milk a cow twice a day?"

"Sir, this is really valuable information, but what about getting to the point?"

"I am getting to the point, madam. Just imagine, if I was playing with your tits twice a day but only screwing you once a year, wouldn't you get mad?

Just popping in to say hello. Hope everyone is having a great weekend, and that Gator is having a safe flight.

Took the girls to Blockbuster to pick out some videos, and they are watching one right now. I just got dinner in the oven, and DH is still out working in the yard.

I went to the gym today and have been OP. I have so much fruit in my fridge...staying on plan shouldn't be too hard (Peaches, Apricots, grapes, cherries, cantaloupe, watermelon for the kids, and strawberries). I am definately getting my 3 daily servings of fruit. I have a zucchini dish in the oven now (zucc layered with mushrooms, broccoli and topped off with sauce and cheese); I will have a salad with that too and get lots of veggies in with dinner.

Other than that, not much to report.

Sef: Glad you are getting possilbe positive benefits from teh surgery/therapy. Glad you enjoyed your visit with Mary. Lane is feeling better; it was pretty short-lived, and no-one else got it....maybe something she ate!?

Tranquil: Enjoy your time off. Thanks for the zucc ideeas. I think frequent exercise keeps me in the right mindset for the most part.

Monet: I hope your AC gets fixed soon; that must be the pits.

BOB: Feels good to get that hair cut off doesn't it? I feel so much cooler since I got mine cut. What bare minerals eyebrow stuff??????

Well, gotta go check on laundry and dinner.

Have a great evening!

Finally heard from the AC man...they got the wrong unit, and the place does not open until Tuesday...so he will exchange it Tuesday morning and put it in then. sigh....

Went out to dinner last night at Outback and had steak, salad and steamed veggies. I did eat some of the Blooming Onion the kids ordered. We ate rather late too. They did not get over here to head out to the restaurant until 7:45. It was fun though.

I got half of an Amazon order yesterday...it included a new book which I spent all day and night reading. I did not go to bed until about 2:30. I can't believe I am already up! I even made the bed! :)

Before the mail, and thus the book, arrived, I painted. Sure was fun. Not sure what it will turn out to be, but I started out painting over the seascape with all black paint, then I just started playing with primary colors and white over it. When I get it done, I will know what it is going to be! LOL

BOB: I did check out the FDA site, and bookmarked it. Thank you! I also got a letter in the mail from Costco telling me about the recall. Their records showed I had bought almonds from the recall limits. I have to run them over there next week. I can't believe you cut your hair that short! My son has about shaved his head. I am thinking of getting mine cut, but not that short!

SEF: Loved the jokes! Especially the lawyer one!

PANCHO: I got raspberries, blueberries and strawberries the other day and made a fruit salad for dinner. It sure was good! I need to do that more often. Do you eat kiwis? I have heard mixed information on whether they are ok for SB.

Susan and I buy from this lady, and since she's in Tampa, I get mine really quick....I did get the brush at the beauty supply store about $4 cheaper than
buying from her, and she suggested I do that!

Check out her site...

Pancho 05-30-2004 11:41 AM

Good Morning:

I have been so much better this weekend than I thought I would be. I ate 1/2 cantaloupe (they are small) when I got up, and then just finished off some Kashi Breakfast Pilaf with sliced strawberries, flax meal, cinnamon & agave; I'm not sure if I like the texture of it, but it filled me up and is high in fiber.

Last night I ate the vegetable parmigiana (or whatever it was) with a large Caesar Salad. The texture was good and the sauce (Whole Foods & Trader Joes mixed) had the best flavor. I am going to probably have leftovers of that for lunch, and pick something up for dinner while I am out today. I'm going to take the girls to Trader Joes with me while DH works out in the yard. I need to get some chips for my sister and mom, and I have to restock on some stuff too.

At our local Safeway store, they have a card that you use when you buy a Starbucks coffee in their store; after buying 7, you get one free. I was due for my free one yesterday, and got a Venti....I usually only get a Grande ;) . It was a nice iced drink on a warm day. Our weather is heating up quickly; we might even hit 110 this week...OUCH! I always know it is coming, but dread it when I really see those numbers.

Well, all else is pretty much the same. I really had a great night's sleep last night and feel so rested today. I am going to get up early to hit the gym tomorrow a.m., and then I plan to hit it 3 more days next week....MY GOAL IS 4 DAYS A WEEK!!!

BOB: I've ordered from Janice before *upon your recommendation* and get my stuff quickly too. I just bought some brushes and blush colors from her. I haven't bought any eyeshadows yet; do they stay on for a long time? I was just unsure what you bought for your eyebrows....is it a powdered color; how does it stay in place?

Monet: I'm sure Tuesday seems so far off right now; I hope you find ways to stay cool until then!

God Bless you all! I hope to check in later; it really helps keep me on track.

I forgot to mention I went to Harry's/Whole Foods the other day with my mother in law. They had a new brand of agave that got me all enthused. The Sweet Cactus Farms brand was $2.69, and went up to $5.89! Friday afternoon, they had a new brand, with a bottle twice as big as the SCF bottle and $6.99! They had the light and the amber, so I got some light to use. Its wonderful in my coffee, yogurt, cereal...I think I have been using too much of it! LOL Its 100% organic agave..but it does not say if its wild, blue or anything. The nutritional info is the same as the SCF though. I am just relieved to find it a bit more reasonable than almost $6 for that little bottle....

I am having a terrible time staying awake. Going to bed late did not help, but the thyroid issues are very evident to me right now. I try reading and my eyes start crossing. I finished one book I got yesterday, but the other is a book on silk painting techniques I am trying to read. Its such a good book, but my brain is not cooperating! :(

PANCHO: Thankfully, the weather has been cool the last few days. Its overcast, which keeps the temps down. A clear sunny day is usually about five degrees hotter. We also have a whole house fan, which helps SO much. We can always jump in the pool if it gets too hot. :)

VMOORE: Where are you?

THE BIG ORANGE BABE 05-30-2004 12:11 PM

Nat,

Haven't got the order yet, but I'll let you know...I know it's in the form of the eyeshadows which are GREAT and stay put!

Hello All:

Had a wonderful time visiting Melf and DH at the beach...She looked great, even though she was suffering from her sinuses and probably did not feel great, I really hope for her own sake that she is able to get relief soon... She made us a fantastic SBer legal supper yesterday including chicken stuffed with eggplant and brown rice - fresh greenbeans from their garden, cucumbers and salad mixin's again from her garden...loved it!!! DS could not stop eating!!!!! We got to walk on the beach, go in the jacuzzi, and I probably talked their ears off and they are glad for the peace and quiet this coming week - hahahaha!!!!!

BOB- I love that shampoo too!!! I ran out about a month ago and have not had a chance to replace it - been using TIGI's Oatmeal and Honey shampoo - I forgot the name of it, something like Comfort Food for your hair.... Oh by the way, I really enjoyed Gothika because of the "jump" factor - you will have to tell me if you jump in some certain scenes!!!!

SEF - Thank you for the funnies - nice to see you posting them again!!!

Monet - hope you are cool and comfy soon!!! Today is supposed to be a scorcher - I am going into shower, and then headed to the movies with the kidlet ....

Pancho - Fruit, all that yummy fruit, now my mouth is watering for the cherries I picked up....one thing I love about summer, the produce...I haven't found any good looking apricots yet, but that is one thing I love too - and nectarines....

Well, I have to run, making this short...

Bye, Sabrina
