Hello Mary,
You said it ABSOLUTLEY CORRECTLY!!!! South Beach is a combination of the 2 plans. I wish we could have thought of that, and made MILLIONS, like they have.
LOL LOL
Have you started any particular plan? I guess you can say I am doing South Beach Phase II, and Sugar Busters (which ever you want to pick) ;-))
I have lost 14 pounds, since Jan. 26, 2004 (SLOW WEIGHT LOSS), and I need to lose at least 25 more! I sure hope I can hang in there and be patient enough for this to happen!!!! I am hoping to get a cookbook that will maybe help me not be soooooooo bored. I have heard of one called "The Diabettic Four Ingredient Cookbook" by Linda Coffee. Sounds like my kind of a cookbook ...........4 INGREDIENTS!!! ;-))
Hope to hear from you Mary. Let me know what plan you are doing and how you are doing. I need all the support I can get! ;-))

Hi!

I am a newbie here! *waving*

I started Atkins on April 3, 2003 and last week I made the switch to Sugar Busters. I switched b/c SB! appeals to me so much more right now. I was through all the rungs in OWL but I felt very trapped and was cheating more and more. So, I talked to an online LC buddy (Monet) and was moved to investigate SugarBusters! What I found was a sensible plan that fit my needs. So far, so good and I hope to be a big loser with SB! soon, too!!

Mishi:

I'm new to SB! also - I was a die hard atkins girl but was getting sick of the limited choices of foods.

Hi there,

I have also made the switch from low carb to low glycemic (Sugarbusters).

For those concerned about gaining weight, please realize that when you switch from very low carb to higher carb (even good carbs!) there WILL be a weight gain, but it's only WATER weight from the carbs. I myself gained five pounds in a very few days going from an Atkins-type diet to Sugarbusters. I am confident as time goes on, the pounds will go down. Common sense tells me I can't gain five pounds of fat in just a few days. But water retention is common when you stop low-carbing.

I feel so much healthier on this eating plan, that even if I don't lose weight I'd still stick to it, because of my genetics - diabetes is rampant in my family.
But I do hope I lose! I'd be happy with even a very slow loss!

So don't feel bad about putting on a few pounds of water when switching.
