Deb - OMG!!! That is such an awful thing to happen!!!!!!!! Your poor Yoga teacher!!!!!
|
Well the fat fairy was good to me today too! I am down 4 pounds since Monday. WOOOHOOO for me!
I have to admit I have been bustin it this week. I am forcing myself not to eat certain things. I just drink my water and wait out the hunger until I get home and have dinner. I want to be down another 2 next week and that will plant me firmly in the 160's! :crossed: I drink at least 70+ ounces of water a day, probably more like 90. The weekends are tough though. I am always on the road with my husband so it is hard to be drinking water while you are in the car. We have a wine tasting dinner to go to tomorrow night. I hope I don't blow it :fr: I have a lot of banked points so if I watch it I shouldn't be too bad. It is not a sit down dinner more like a barbeque so I think that will help. The wine will be the killer! Tranquil: Congrats. I can finally say "I know how you feel" Talitha: I am not an expert by any means but maybe check your portions and watch the snacks. I gave up a lot of my day time snacks and it seems to have helped. I always weigh and measure my food. BOB: when are you going to feel better? I don't think I was on this board when this all started but what actually is going on? Monet: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Quilter: I hope Maddie is doing ok. My Mom's dog Brandy is a Cairn Terrier and she is 15 years old now. She has been having a lot of problems this past year and I am dreading the day!!!!! I love this dog. It breaks our hearts to have animals but we keep doing it, don't we? Deb: I hate being that busy. Makes me feel like I have no control over my life. Hang in there. To everyone else  I will check in later. |
Good Morning All
It's a bright sunny day here which is a boost to the spirits after having so many rainy days. I'm hoping it stays fine for the weekend. I am off in the morning with my dd and two grandsons to a soccer tournament which is a four hour drive from here. Will be staying overnight as the twelve year old has games both Saturday and Sunday. I'm planning on cooking some chicken drumsticks with a parmesan/herb coating (thanks Jenn in MN) for dinner tonite and will take some with me tomorrrow for my lunch and snacking. I'm taking buns and cold cuts for the other guys for lunch but I am determined not to eat any bread. I just have to make sure that I have enough op stuff so that I don't get too hungry. I made some Almond Granola yesterday and will take some of that with me also some peanuts for snacking. Also have some fruit cups and my dd will be bringing some fresh fruit. For breakfast this morning I made the Oatmeal Pancakes with cottage cheese that BOB posted. They were good. I had them with a little agave syrup and some sf strawberry jam that I made the other day. The jam didn't turn out as good as the blueberry that I made a few weeks ago as it didn't set properly but tasted fine on the pancakes. Deb - I did get that book from the library "Thin Tastes Good" but I couldn't get into it. I found he took too long to get to the point and I lost patience. That was so sad about your yoga teacher's sister and friend. We just never know when tragedy is going to strike us. That dressing sounds interesting but how the heck can something that contains tomato paste and sundried tomatoes have NO calories. I suppose there is very little tomato compared to the other ingredients. Anyway if it tastes good go for it. I don't know if that brand would be available up here but I will check it out. You seem to be doing a lot of barfing lately. Hope you are better to-day. BOB - Congrats on your loss this week. But be careful missing those dinners - you don't want to go into starvation mode. Cathlaur - I was using 10% cream in my coffee for a while but just changed recently as my fat intake was usually too high. Now I am trying homo milk (3.25% fat) which is a little better than the 2%. I don't think a little cream does any harm - it all depends on how many cups of coffee you have during the day. I would think if it is just one or two that cream is o.k. Funny thing is for years I only used 2% milk in my coffee but once I cut out the sugar I started using cream. We should try to keep fat intake to 30% of total calories consumed. Have you tried using FitDay to enter your food intake? This is good for seeing what percentage of fats/carbs/proteins you are consuming. Grin - Congrats for your team for doing so well in the Relay for Life. Tranquil - Congrats on getting down another half pound. Every little bit counts. I've just read your latest post and see that you have lost another 3 pounds. WTG. :cp: Melf - Glad you enjoyed your vacation. They always seem to go too fast when you are having fun. Sounds like Tranquil and Serene had a great time visiting with you. LdBlond - Obviously you are losing inches even if it's not showing on the scale. It's always a good feeling to have your clothes getting loser. Jane - Congrats on getting rid of another 4 pounds. :cloud9: Well that's all from me for now. Sorry I can't address everybody but have to go and grab a bite to eat before I head out to badminton. Bye for now. Marie. |
Okay, the colours are fun, but I'm putting off the paperwork I should be doing for work to play here:) So I'll post efficiently:)
DEB: You sound too busy to breathe!! May I offer a gift from the Human Dictionary? Conniption:) I like your spelling, and I'm not trying to be a wise-a**!! I'm sorry to hear about your friend's crisis. It's never easy to know what to say. JANE: Honey, if you find a whole wheat bagel that is actually legal, please let me know. I LOVE bagels!! Hmm, maybe you;d better not let me know.. I love choco pudding and whipped cream and I ate entirely too much of that the last couple of weeks;) ;) sugar free, of course. But still..one taste and I want the whole bowl!! I keep my bread in the freezer now and just pull out a slice when I need one. It lasts forever:) Went shopping yesterday and I seem to be finding my groove. Didn't find one useful item in the health food section, even the frozen foods (where I hoped to find pot pies) are dedicated to the meatless and dairyless people. Or those who want everything organic. Organic Cheet-oes. Imagine that:) TRANQUIL: I've got that white showing through too:) I've been going gray since I was 16 (we have it on both sides of the family) but I'm fighting it. Had my hair done by a pro last time, she mixed up a luscious dark glowing red and now it's faded and my roots are gleaming white at the temples:) I think a trip to the salon is a nice non fattening treat for sticking to SB, don't you? LOL BOB: I'm hooked on the Amazing Race!! I'm a Survivor fan from the first season, but my friends finally talked me into watching this ep of TAR. I LOVE IT!!!! The Venetian Masked ball was a little creepy, IMHO, but it's all been beautiful so far. Hugs to everyone I've missed naming in person!!! |
Friday
Ok, I haven't had the time yet to read all the posts, and I'm heading out the door, but I will return to read them. I do have a couple replies for the ones I did read.
Cathlaur, I have 3 girls, 9, 6, and 4. They fight all the time and it drives me nuts! Deb, You need a Calgon take me away day too! You've been running your butt off here lately. Why is it that mom's don't get a break but dad's do? That's one thing I would like to know. Ok, now I'm off, but I'll be back sometime. Talk to y'all later. Jenn |
ARCAYNE....DEBBIE spells in YIDDISH.... :)
Jane, One morning as I was stretching, everything and I mean everything from the left side of my neck down to my shoulder blade and uder, top of the shoulder and down the arm into the fingers......SNAPPED.....bunched up together  It's the most painful thing I've every had :( BOB |
BUT ON A BRIGHTER NOTE!!!!!!! I GOT MY APPOINTMENT WITH THE DR.....MONDAY , JUNE 16th, 2p.m. :bravo: :bravo:

Just checking in. Would you believe, my electricity went off another 2 times since this morning! I finally called FP&L to complain-it's going to fry something, not to mention wipes out anything I happen to be doing at the time on the computer! Pisses me off!
TRANQUIL, I'm so proud of you! Geez, see what a few days at the DD will do for a gal!:s: Before you know it, you'll be down below the 250 mark. Honestly, I swear you don't look like you weigh in that area, definitely looks like much less. I got your e-mail, hope you don't mind me responding on the board, makes me look like I'm getting in a post.;) Hope you get to sleep in tomorrow, at least one of us can. As usual, running with at least one kid. I thought you got an estimate for the tiling, is this someone new? Good luck with moving all that stuff out on Sunday with WENDY-enjoy your lunch together. What do you hear from ZACH? Will call you sometime this weekend!!! JANE, CONGRATS & WOW, 4lbs down, that's awesome!!! Seems the WW & SB combo are working for you. I'm sure you'll be fine at the wine tasting, just think that we're all there behind you cheering you on to get through it with flying colors-or that I'm sitting on your shoulder:devil: ROSALIE, hope you have a good time at the soccer tournament and that they win. You'll have to tell us all about it when you return! ROSALIE, try the book again, really. If you find the intro not good, continue on, I promise you what he says is very good-but nothing we really don't know, just to instill the thoughts again in our brains. I think page 30+ had a lot of good info in that area-then all the way through. I don't know about the dressing either, though it says it has TRACE CALORIES, so I have a call in to WALDEN FARMS to see what they have to say about this and I will report later on what I find out. What I think is since the main ingredient is water that everything else is so minimal that it doesn't add up, but that's just my thought. Yeah, quite a bit of barfing lately, even to the point that it bothers me, and ELI is noticing! ARC, THANK YOU! I was way off in spelling Conniption!! What HFS do you go to? I hope you can find the pot pies, they are delish! JEC, I propose we both take a CALGON DAY!!!! Honestly, those times I get to go away and be with the SB GROUP, or when they come to visit me, that alone rejuvenates me! But then, in between, I want to get in my car on some days and just keep on driving north!!!!! Why do men have it so easy-let's just remember, they die younger than women, so maybe not taking it so easy ain't so bad! BOB, yep, I definitely was thinking with the Yiddish part of the brain. Good luck with the Dr. on Monday. I just think you need a good swift kick in the arse!!!;) ***Well, I just got off the telephone with WALDEN FARMS, and I spoke to BRIAN who developed all of their products. He said that there is about 4-4.5 calories per serving on the FRENCH DRESSING that I reviewed earlier today. Under the law, they can call anything less than 5 calories per serving calorie free. He mentioned that they also have a sf chocolate syrup and maple syrup that are awesome as well. What I really liked about what he said is this. Buy his product, if for any reason you are not happy with it, even if you don't like the taste, keep your receipt and send it to the company and they will give you a full refund of your purchase price! Now THAT'S the kind of company that you want to try their products, you have nothing to lose and you just may find some new products that you like in doing so!:D For those of you in CANADA, he gave me the name of their broker, so if you'd like to contact him to see if they carry the WALDEN FARMS products in your area, contact [email protected] And, for those of you who'd like to view their website, just click on this link WALDEN FARMS WEBSITE Oh, and got a phone call from FP&L to tell me that they are working on putting in a new transformer and that my electricty may go out once again-nice that they tell me NOW!!!!!!! Okay, I'm outta here again! TOODLES Debbie |
Hey Again
Well, I am younger again....and a pretty brunette color that I like....
Deb - Zach writes me every morning when he gets up, this last email said he wished I could drive up there NOW! hahaha, but he is having a good time.... I hope....they have taken him to the movies and all over the place. Wendy and I have our work cut out for us tomorrow with moving stuff out of the back porch...and she has agreed to help me, I will cook for payment, to get rid of the carpeting in the den.... I have decided to get an estimate on the entire downstairs rather than just den and bathroom for tiling - same guy....just do the entire downstairs and not worry about carpeting anymore!!!! YEAH!!!!! By the way, thanks for the compliment :) Jane - CONGRATS ON THE LOSS!!!!!!!! It sure does feel good!!!! Just stick with the red wines and the meat ...you will be fine!!!!! Arcayne - yes, definitely a nice treat to one's self to have the pampering of a visit to the hair salon for being good on Sugar Busters!!!!! I feel so much younger ;) Rosalie - I know what you mean by the sunshine - being a brightener - today it is sunny and beautiful out, though they are calling for rain for the next 5 days - so I will be happy with every little glimpse I see of that sunshine!!!!! Have fun at the soccer tournament!!!!! BOB - Good luck at the doctors!!! I better get back to work! Sabrina |
Hi everyone
I had a good workout at Curves
Debbie I am sorry about your friend and her family. That is awful Okay I am off have a super day Katie |
Good evening everyone! I have had another busy day, and made an unfortunate discovery! Publix makes a wonderful sourdough french bread! I suppose you can figure out that I decided to try it, and ended up eating WAY more then was necessary to determine whether it was good or not! :o Then I really splurged and bought one of the Bavarian tarts I was making today. I even had a cappachino. Not only did I fall off the wagon, but it ran over me, backed up and ran over me again!
Work was stressful. The company hires an independent sanitation inspection company to come and rate all their stores. It is very important to get a good rating. The scale is kind of like a school grading scale...90 to 100 is an A, 80 to 90 is just so so, and anything below 80 is not good for a retail establishment that deals with food. Our store demands a 90 or above, or can be department wide reprimands. We got a 92! And about 3 points we had taken off was due to something that we had no control over. It was the height of the shelves in the freezer! That is going to take a lot of work to correct...they have to take out a lot of frozen products.... After I got home from work, we had a truckload of special garden soil delivered. Tom has spent a lot of time tonight moving it from the driveway into the yard to his garden plot. It has been raining, which has made his work rather unpleasant and wet! He doesn't want to leave the dirt on the driveway though, since the rain will wash it away, and it costs too much to lose! :) I am pretty tired, and really looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. I know I have been a bum and not gotten any replies in...I am sure I will be able to catch up eventually. I am just exhausted from getting up two hours earlier than I used to, and then standing on my feet for five or six hours straight. I hope to get in replies tomorrow. Night all! |
I have a 5 minute allotment of time for the computer, not enough time to do a post but thought I'd get in the FRIDAY FUNNIES that I forgot to post earlier - at least it's still FRIDAY!!!!
A man has spent many days crossing the desert without water. His camel dies of thirst. He's crawling through the sands, certain that he has breathed his last, when all of a sudden he sees an object sticking out of the sand several yards ahead of him. He crawls to the object, pulls it out of the sand, and discovers what looks to be an old brief case. He opens it and out pops a genie. But this is no ordinary genie. She is wearing an IRS ID badge and dull gray dress. There's a calculator in her pocketbook. She has a pencil tucked behind one ear. "Well, kid, says the genie. You know how it works. You have three wishes." "I'm not falling for this, says the man. I'm not going to trust an IRS auditor. " "What do you have to lose? You've got no transportation, and it looks like you're a goner anyway!" The man thinks about this for a minute, and decides that the genie is right. "OK, I wish I were in a lush oasis with plentiful food and drink." ***POOF*** The man finds himself in the most beautiful oasis he has ever seen. And he is surrounded with jugs of wine and platters of delicacies. "OK, kid, what's your second wish." "My second wish is that I were rich beyond my wildest dreams. " ***POOF*** The man finds himself surrounded by treasure chests filled with rare gold coins and precious gems. "OK, kid, you have just one more wish. Better make it a good one!" After thinking for a few minutes, the man says_ "I wish that no matter where I go, beautiful women will want and need me." ***POOF*** He is turned into a tampon. The moral of the story: If the government offers you anything, there's going to be a string attached. ********************************* It was mealtime during a flight on El Al. "Would you like dinner?" the flight attendant asked Moishe, seated in front. "What are my choices?" Moishe asked. "Yes or no," she replied. = = = = = = Irving was just coming out of anesthesia after a series of tests in the hospital, and his wife, Sarah, was sitting at his bedside. His eyes fluttered open, and he murmured, "You're beautiful." Flattered, Sarah continued her vigil while he drifted back to sleep. Later he woke up and said, "You're cute." What happened to 'beautiful'?" Sarah asked. "The drugs are wearing off," he replied. = = = = = = Bernie had a fight with Rachel, his wife, and went to the movies to cool off. Later that evening, he decided to phone home to see what the situation was and maybe even apologize. "Hello, darling," he said, "what are you making for dinner?" "What am I making for dinner? After all the horrible things you said to me earlier, you want to know what I am making for dinner?? Poison, that's what I'm making, poison." He wanted her to see what he went through so he prayed: "Dear Lord: I go to work every day and put in 8 hours while my wife merely stays at home. I want her to know what I go through, so pleaseallow her body to switch with mine for a day. Amen. God, in his infinite wisdom, granted the man's wish. The next morning, sure enough, the man awoke as a woman. He arose, cooked breakfast for his mate, awakened the kids, set out their school clothes, fed them breakfast, packed their lunches, drove them to school, came home and picked up the dry cleaning, took it to the cleaners and stopped at the bank to make a deposit, went grocery shopping, then drove home to put away the groceries, paid the bills and balanced the check book. He cleaned the cat's litter box and bathed the dog. Then it was already 1 P.M. and he hurried to make the beds, do the laundry, vacuum, dust, and sweep and mop the kitchen floor. Ran to the school to pick up the kids and got into an argument with them on the way home. Set out milk and cookies and got the kids organized to do their homework, then set up the ironing board and watched TV while he did the ironing. At 4:30 he began peeling potatoes and washing vegetables for salad, breaded the pork chops and snapped fresh beans for supper. After supper, he cleaned the kitchen, ran the dishwasher, folded laundry, bathed the kids, and put them to bed. At 9 P.M. he was exhausted and, though his daily chores weren't finished, he went to bed where he was expected to make love which he managed to get through without complaint. The next morning, he awoke and immediately knelt by the bed and said,"Lord, I don't know what I was thinking. I was so wrong to envy my wife's being able to stay home all day. Please, oh please, let us trade back." The Lord, in his infinite wisdom, replied, "My son, I feel you have_learned your lesson and I will be happy to change things back to the way they were. You'll just have to wait nine months, though. You got pregnant last night." ******************** Possible titles for Monica Lewinsky's new book ------------------------------------------------ 1. Friday Night---
Girls, hello! Just wanted to check in. Yesterday was utter chaos. About 1:30 at work yesterday my dad called from some hospital in Ohio and said that my mom had fallen at a rest stop (they were on their way to the family reunion that's tomorrow) and broke her hip! EEEEEK!!! So I had to figure out where they were then come home and back a bag and go up there. Paul drove me up (I didn't know if I'd have to stay the night). Mom had surgery last night. They replaced the ball in her hip. Last night we were very worried about her. She's 81 and pretty frail. I didn't have to stay, so we didn't get home until midnight becuase they were about 90 miles from us. So this morning we got up early, packed for the reunion and took off for the hospital. Mom is doing better and they already had her up on her feet a little bit today. But she's got a LONG, LONG way to go. We're still not out of the woods. I appreciate any prayers you would send up for her. And also for my dad. He stayed at the hospital last night and hadn't slept at all. He's also 80 and needs to take care of himself. We are not at our cousin's house. And after a big glass of wine and a lot of nice visiting, we are both feeling much better. I hope you all have a great weekend. I'll check in when I can. Take care!!! Kim |
It's past my bedtime...LOL
Good evening. I was just reading the posts and wanted to let you know Kim that I am praying for your parents.
Monet...I think today was the day for wagon jumping. I chose to have a little cheesecake...my mouth is still in heaven. :) Hope everyone has a super weekend. Love, Crystle |
