So far behind...

Good morning everybody!!! (((hugzz))) I am soooo far behind this week. I've joined a new ladies group and it is keeping me so busy. Along with remodeling the bathroom. It's amazing how a two day project is turning into a week. I PROMISE that next week I will jump back in on Monday and not allow myself to get behind. Once that happens I just can't seem to catch up.

Eating has been bad. Another reason I have been playing hookie I'm sure. Started back with the treadmill last night. The last two weeks I've let chores and other type of work get me distracted. I was up a bit but those extra pounds are finally gone again. So WIW for me was 149. I need to get back on track...I had so wanted to be at goal wayyyyyyy before now. Oh, well my fault for getting lazy.

(((Jack-K))) praying for you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss.

Congratulations to all this weeks losers...I see there are many of you. And congrats to those who are keeping on keeping on...be proud of the committment..the weight will soon follow.

Time to get.....There is painting and laundry waiting on me.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Thursday

Hello everyone. Today is going to be one of those days where my fingers override my brain. I keep having to hit backspace to correct myself.

Why oh why do kids insist on doing things they know will get them in trouble? Just while ago, all 3 of them were on their bikes and down the street, not on the sidewalk either, they were in the middle of the street. They know they aren't allowed in the street on foot or bike. And now, Autumn, the 4 yr. old, just got in trouble for opening packets of Equal and dumping them on the floor. I would love to have just one day of peace here in the house. I don't think I'm going to get it though.

Eating this week so far has been ok, although I forget to have breakfast until late, but better late than never.

Ok, here are some replies, and then I have to vaccuum the dang floor, again.

BOB, Congrats on the whole 10 lbs. gone! The head is fine now, I'm gonna have to watch that kid around perfume counters from now on though. Whew, that was a mess!

Pancho, Oh my gosh, only 2 adults to 30 kids. That's not legal anywhere. The new place sounds more legal. Even regular day cares make sure there's only 7 or 8 kids per adult. I wish all I weighed after having a baby was 152. I'm about the same height as you. I think I would look funny at 130 though, (extrememly big boobs that just won't shrink down any).

Teensy, Congrats on the 2 lbs! I would give just about anything to go to a mall right now. The closest one to us is at least an hour away, and I'm not about to take these 3 kids by myself and go and hubby sure won't go because he hates shopping. I guess that's life in a crappy small town. I hate it though.

Arc, Congrats on the 3 lbs.! 18 lbs. is nothing to sniff at either. That's great. You aren't the only one who doesn't exercise they way they should, I totally stink in that area. I've never liked to do it, even in school when I had to take P.E. I just have to push myself, and sometimes I don't push hard enough.

Deb, I'm always thinking there's something out to get me, (it's my kids and hubby, I'll swear it is). I can't make any plans to do anything because they always end up getting changed, and when I think I'm going to get a day where I don't have to do anything, something else comes up.

Ok, I'm off to get to work on this house again, doesn't that count as exercise? My "laundry room" is down in the basement and I get a workout in going up and down those steep stairs, not to mention pushing that vaccuum.

Talk to y'all later.
Jenn

A Real Post!

Hello all, I promised I'd try to get back for replies, so here goes:

Jecrites--how you keep up with those girls is beyond me! They sound like lots of fun if you are their Aunt and not their mom. As Auntu Susu, I have to admit I'd probably have been in the floor with the four-year-old saying "Let 's see how big a mountain of Equal we can make!" :s: Which would explain why my SIL would make me do time outs too! :D

Crystle--hope things settle down for you soon. We miss you!

BOB--I haven't read the book, but I saw the article on the South beach diet in Prevention a couple of months ago. It looked at lot like Atkins meets Sugar Busters! At least you can still say you are doing SB! :D

Sabrina--Congrats on the 1/2 lb lost!

Deb--Slow down girl, you are going to wear yourself out!

Kim--It's a wonder they don't have a physical therapist for Maddie--but I guess that's you!

Cathlaur--What kind of knee surgery are you having? I had surgery to repair some torn cartalege a couple of years ago. No fun, but my knee sure is better (not perfect, but better). Good Luck!

Arc--Way to Go girlfriend!!!!!! 18 lbs is awesome. I had one of those pot pies and if there were any taters in them they were so small you wouldn't notice.

Teensy--Miss Belle appreciated your cuddle. When I go out of town she is a tad more cuddly than normal when I get back. We have strays cats all over Auburn (students turn them loose when they leave town), I have two in my yard that were kittens last year. I just heard about a program the vet school has where they will trap strays, spay or netuer them, and then turn them loose again. I need to call out there--otherwise I'll have more kittens out there soon. I hope you can make friends with yours!

Monet--are you working this morning?

oops--gotta get back to work.

have a good OP day everyone!

Just a quick post.... I worked this morning 6 am to 11, and then had to run Laura up to meet the youth group as she is going canoeing with them for three days. Then I ran over to the church office to do some volunteer work, but the administrator had run out on an errand, so I have to go back tomorrow. I work in the morning, but will go after I get off. I am about to take a nap. I have not been sleeping very well lately, so I am hoping I can get adjusted to this schedule soon! I may go take a dip in the pool afte rmy nap....

Will catch you all later!

Good Early Evening Every Buddy!!!!

BAD DAY FOR BOB  I'm a hurtin pup...have been all day...been really cloudy over here and we did have some rain, so Iguess it's partly from that! OUCH!!!!

Can't get to everyone today, just can't sit here...wanted to say
hello and to remind all who watch AMAZING RACE 8pm....

Later

BOB

Talitha 06-05-2003 10:05 PM

YOday was sucha long day working. i ahd to get in the car at 8:00 to drop selah off in Gwinett, and was in the car until 10:30, worked until 7 with one 1/2 hour break, and then came home to laundry and dirty dishes form last night. SO she's sleeping now, and I have a chance to sya hi to everyone.

Am I missing something? I do not remember the book saying anything about 2 weeks like atkins and then to change? That is what BOB was describing. Maybe that is why i haven't lost. SO can someone tell me what the first 2 weeks should be like, and i will start over? I'm so afraid that i am doing tjis all wrong. Everyone posting what they have eaten has given me something to go on, and i think i was ewating too much starch. I'll reign it in now.

Teensy - I hate the mall with a passion!!! It is absolutely a last resort for me, too. THere is an outdoor mall here that i go to. it has the gap, limited, all the major mall type shops, and you can just park and drive in. I prefer it, but I still only even do that once a year. I'm strictly a Target girl. Is Agave more expensive on the web? I'm assuming that is why you haven't tried that.

Grin & Share/Katie - They thyroid thing scares me. My grandmother had thyroid cancer, and my mother had radiation and had hers removed when she was 45. It was the size of a large grapefruit and weighed 3 lbs!!! I have had a goiter since I was 16, and it's pretty visible. Is there anything I should be doing or taking to lower my risk? My THP(or whater the thyroid hormone is) is .04 so I am right on the verge of hypo. I have it checked every 6 mo, but it has stayed at that for over a year.

Debbie - You know, I always wondered how to spell kanipshen......

Tranquil - No one answered my question about FIber one, but I am assuming that it must be ok if you eat it?

Off to finish the laundry, and do some situps. I haven't been posting them on the exercise board be cause they don't seem to count compared to everyone else's REAL exercise. BUt I have been doing jumping jacks and situps everyday. I just can't find time to really exercise!!!!

Ellen 06-05-2003 10:30 PM

TALITHA: If your TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) level is .04, you are NOT on the verge of being hypo, but on the verge of being HYPER...BIG difference! Hypo is slow, hyper is too fast. If you want to avoid thyroid problems, lay off all soy. Soy binds with thyroid hormones, making them unuseable to the body. There is a higher instance of thyroid cancer with high soy consumption as well. Also, you might want to avoid the goitergenic vegetables, such as broccoli, and brussel sprouts, unless they are thoroughly cooked. If you want more info on thyroids, check the about.com pages.

Gotta go to bed! 5am comes awful early!

ldblond 06-05-2003 11:05 PM

Just a quickie. Two days back on plan, and I feel good. DH noticed my that my shorts are slipping off! So the weight is fluctuating and looking ugly on the scales but the body is reshaping. Now if I could get back into FlyLady's Routines! One thing at a time I guess Tomorrow I go for a hair trim and my girlfriend can check my hairloss. Not too much really, but I'm noticing and I know it's due to the meds and the blocks, but it's still creepy. Bought a special hair care system going to start it tonight.
Talitha: I'm proud of you, breakfast is really important. If I don't eat a good breakfast full of protein my carb cravings are much worse the rest of the day. I don't know anything about South Beach Diet, but there isn't a true induction for SB. What I have told people in the past is that for 2 weeks get used to eating all the sf/ww stuff, then it gets easier to track 3 starchy carbs a day, and the rest is veggies, fruit, meat, dairy. Watch snacking off your children's plates, I use to finish my kids foods because I hated to waste it. Now I serve them less and dump what's on their plate or save it for them to eat later.

I don't have' Shirley's (SEF) phone number, has anyone called to see if she is ok?

Good Nite.

cathlaur 06-06-2003 06:39 AM

Morning

Well it is is just after 6 am here in Southern Ontario and I am at work. I know, early but I am doing Overtime. Have done lots lately. I have banked lots of hours so when I am off with my surgery I will be paid 100% plus have overtime hours on my check. Got to like that:D I have been eating really well. Kind of proud of myself. But like IDblond said I got to watch the eating off of my littles ones plate ( she is 8 and not much of a dinner eater) I am really exercising. I am trying to do something 6 to 7 times a week. I was reading one of the many links Debbie had posted and one article said thin people do something physical everyday.Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm makes sense to me.

Tomorrow I have a birthday party to go to and will try my hardest to pass up the cake. I am in the mode so I dont think it will be to hard to do.

Talitha I was hyper thyroid at first. Pretty borderline but still. I had a large Alien nodule I called Ned. He was 6.5 cms by 3. I could feel him and you could see him. They took him and the right side of my thyroid out. Behind they found a small piece of papillary microcarcinoma (encapsillated) they say they got it all. I was lucky. I see a specialist Endocrinologist not a GP for my thyroid. Like Monet said I avoid soy. Keep us posted. You are right thyroid problems are on the rise especially for women.

Monet you sound like me. Work and running my chicks areound
:D but I love it.

Fillise I have Osteoarthritis in my knees. So they are scoping the left one as it has never been done. I have a huge bone spurr that just kind of appeared so that is being taken off to. I am not looking forward to it but the time off will be nice. 3 weeks sick time with 3 weeks vacation. So my summer should be fun.

Jenn how old are your kids. I have two dds. 8 and 9. They are hilarious. But sometimes you have to wonder why they do the things they do:devil:

Bob I will check the book out at the library. I guess you can say I kind of did that diet I was on Atkins now with you all. But the weird thing is with Atkins I felt deprived and when you cheated look out. I dont feel that way here. I guess the 1 to 3 starcy carbs and some fruit have really helped me out. I will keep you posted.

Morning to everyone one else as well:D I will check back in later

Katie

Debelli 06-06-2003 09:27 AM

Good Friday Morning:wave:

Geesh, I swear I DO think there's a conspiracy out on me! I started a post this morning and BOOM my electricity went off for a split second and darn if I didn't lose the post. Lucikly it wasn't too far in to it that I can still remember the majority of things, but I'm pissed because I had another thing typed up with movies that I wanted to order from the library that took me quite a while to go through on the library website that I had been building up and that I did lose

Yesterday I went to my Mom's house and that alone was a fiasco in itself! She bought this new computer but kept having trouble with this one application that she really needs to do a spreadsheet. I tried EVERYTHING that I, in my limited capacity that I know, but couldn't figure it out. Finally we called COREL, the software company and after about a half hour on the phone it was determined that the file in the computer was corrupt and that there was no way to fix it. So back the computer had to go. I had to go with her as it wouldn't all fit easily in her car, so off to Circuit City we went. Got there, they couldn't take it back because the store she origially bought it at, their computers were down, back in her car they put it and today she's suppose to go back there and try to return it again.

Before I forget, there's two products I wanted to tell you about that were new to me and I thought were worth passing some info along. First, I was NOT a fan of WALDER FARMS products years ago when I tried some type of salad dressing, so when I saw a bunch at the fruit market last week I was a little skeptical on trying one of their products again, let's just say the last time it left a bad taste in my mouth;) Anyhow, their CLASSIC FRENCH salad dressing just looked good to me so I bought it and I have to say, for a dressing that has NO CARBS, NO SUGAR & NO CALORIES, it's quite delish, or at least I think so. I don't understand how it doesn't have any calories in the 2TBL. serving size, but it doesn't (other than trace calories). Here are the ingredients of the CLASSIC FRENCH:

Triple Filtered Water, Tomoato Paste, White Vinegar, Apple Cider Vinegar, Salt, Sundried Tomatoes, Garlic, Onion, Natural Spices, Cellulose Gel, Pasteruized Egg Yolk, than some other stabilizers and last Sucralose.

There seems to be many more flavors, none others have I tried. You should be able to find it in the refrigerated area, probably in produce. I paid $2.49 for a12oz bottle.

Another item I tried was a new product called SOYLEAN. I tried the crumbles and the patties. Both delish but the patties were WONDERFUL! Tastes just like a full-fledged hamburger to me, nice size, quick to heat up, only 100 calories and 3 grams of fat in it, 16 grams protein and 1 gram of carbs. I made one for LAUREN last night, didn't tell her what it was, she liked it-then of course I told her it was healthy!!!!

I haven't walked except for MONDAY, it's been one thing after another, but I've been tired and I'm sure that's attributed from not drinking water. I just don't know what's with me and I know what I have to do but just don't seem to want to drink. Water, tea, it doesn't matter. Also, I've gotten sick (barfy type) the last 3 nights in a row-what's this crap from???:?: That too makes me tired. It's a vicious cycle, I know. At least my eating has been perfect and that's the most important thing to me, to be able to stay on track. I'll work on the rest!

Today I have yoga, so at least I will get in a little exercise, if you want to call it that. It's so easy going, the only thing I think is exercise in that class are the crunches she makes us do to strengthen our AB muscles, otherwise it's a piece of cake.

Kids have only 3 days left of school. LAUREN starts theater camp the following Monday and MICHAEL will be preparing to work with this couple with the documentary in July. He has a bunch of projects in the works, along with an extended essay that has to be done for his senior year, among other things. The only bad thing with having him home for a few weeks is that I know he'll be on the computer a lot AND generating more dishes for me to wash!:bomb: Tomorrow I have to take him to take SAT'S early in the morning. Have to plan out how we're going to go see these colleges this summer-I think summer is going to pass so fast it's going to be a big blurr! Going to Orlando in July, have a wedding to attend in July and August, road trip, etc., etc.-it just doesn't seem to stop!! WHEN CAN I REST????????????

BTW, did anyone get the book I recommended yet???? THIN TASTES BETTER??

I do have a couple errands to get done today before yoga, so I do want to try and get in at least a few replies. I know I can't refer back to Mondays post but at least I can start anew and try to get in a few reples. I wasn't able to go back and read all the posts. I tried to read what I could when I was able to get on, so if anything really important happened, could y'all give me a brief overview of the goings on that you may have mentioned???

[NEWBIES If I haven't already done so, I wanted to welcome you to the board. http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign1.jpg Sorry I have been a little elusive this week, usually not like this though some times of the year it just happens. I'm sure the gals on the board have been happy to help and answer whatever questions you may have. Please feel free to e-mail me at any time, I have an open door policy with my e-mail. If you haven't posted your BIO on our BIO BOARD and you feel you are going to be a permanent resident here with us, please try to do so. We love learning more about each of you and you can read a little more about us as well. I'll also use that info to put you on our e-mail list. Again, WELCOME!:D

CAT, I know you are new to the board and are in Ontario, but whereabouts? I know Toronto and Montreal, sorta, but that's the extent of my geographical knowledge when it comes to Canada-though I do hope to one day know about Edmonton/Alberta-at least where the mall is concerned:s: Have a good time at the party tomorrow-STAY STRONG & FOCUSED!!!!!

LDBLOND, glad to hear you're feeling good about being back OP. I hope the hair loss stops, you have such pretty hair. I lose a lot of hair too, but not for the same reasons, mine just seems to like to come out a lot, esp. when I brush it. I guess it would help if I took a little better care of it, I need to get it done, it's been 6 months already since I had it cut and colored:fr: The roots are atrocious!

TALITHA, honestly, not sure if I actually did spell kanipshen correct-took a stab at it, but since looked it up and I didn't! I can't find out how it's really spelled! Fiber One is fine to eat. BOB is speaking about the SOBE DIET, not SB, though it's similar after the first two weeks. On the menu you posted the other day, watch those starchy carbs if you see you are having any troubles losing-you mentioned it, just confirming it. Your calories are WAY TO LOW though, this you need to work on.

BOB, who are you rooting for to win the AMAZING RACE? I haven't decided who I actually like yet. LAUREN keeps asking why they have to put THE 12 YEAR TOGETHER VIRGINS under that couple's names-it's driving her crazy!

MELF, looking forward to hearing about your trip and visit with TRANQUIL & SERENE when you return!!!!

MONET, how's the new job?

FILLISE, I think I've already run myself down. ELI keeps telling me that one day all I will do is sleep for an eternity, so to just keep going. I think he believes I'm the ENERGIZER BUNNY!!!;)

JEC, sounds like you need a CALGON TAKE ME AWAY DAY!!!! Girl, I don't think as Mom's we ever get a break, at least not until they go off to college! I can just see your brood and my sisters together:fr:

QUILTER, sorry to hear about Maddie not doing well, that's so sad. I think that's one of the reasons I don't get a dog again, I just can't go through the heartbreak that I went through with Marlo. Yesterday when I was at my Mom's I found a picture of her, gosh what we use to do to that dog, my fur-sister. We tied a scarf around her head-I swear, you think she had come from the old country or off the stage after playing in Fiddler on the Roof! I'm hoping if I'm lucky enough to be read by John Edwards he'll tell me my dog comes through. My dog and my Grandma is very important to me, anyone else is icing on the cake!

ARC, WTG, on your weight loss-keep up the great work!!!!:D

TEENSY, congrats on your loss this week, it's always so nice to see people embracing such a healthy WOE AND losing weight and being excited about it!

Okay, I know, I know, I missed many of you-I just can't catch up with everyone now, but I hope to do better from here forward, so please, bear with me.:sorry:

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I'll check in later today and try to post replies from here on.

Well, just got off the telephone with my yoga teacher. She called to tell me there won't be a class today as she just got a call from her family in Indiana, I believe, and her sister was in a car accident this morning with a co-worker. A tractor trailer that was speeding hit them from behind going around 80+ miles an hour. The lady that was driving her sister is dead and her sister is non-responsive and it appears she will die as well. The driver of the semi is in critical condition. She's flying there this afternoon. I told her to just cancel Monday's class as well since she wasn't sure if she'd be back, which she probably won't. What a sad thing to happen. She's a nurse (the DS) and was on her way to work when this happened this morning, on the freeway.:(

TALITHA,

TWO WEEK INDUCTION PERIOD DOES NOT APPLY TO SUGAR BUSTERS.....

I was describing THE SOUTH BEACH DIET...which has a two week induction moving on to plan similiar to SUGAR BUSTERS...
Sorry if I confused you...:)

Good Morning

Well exciting news, I got on the scale this morning and in my sleep the fat fairy came around and took some fat from me!!! YEAH!!!!!! I lost 3 pounds!!!!! I now weight 259!!!!!!! Yesterday, 262 - today, 259!!!! I have been so good and true to myself with this woe! Adding the fiber into it is helping!!! This morning I had an omelet made from eggbeaters, cheese and 3 slices of bacon - high protein - not too good on the fat b/c of cheese and bacon - but in a little bit I will have some Fiber One and raspberries - the berries were back on sale.

Talitha - Fiber One cereal is all fiber/no sugar added - and very legal...The fiber content is extremely high at 14 g per 1/2 cup...you can eat it....I am sorry I missed your question...I hope this helps you. Deb is the one who introduced me to it...I do exactly what she does - add sf soy milk, fiber one and raspberries - incredibly yummy with the berries and tons of fiber - so HEALTHY!!!!!!

SEF - If you read this - I hope you are OKAY!!!!!!!!!!! Melf told me about what happened!!!!!! I have been so irregular with the Board I missed a lot of things!!!!

Deb - I cannot believe how easy things are since I saw you with SBers - I am so motivated now - next time I see you, I hope you can see a better difference :) Miss ya!

BOB - Sorry you are not feeling well!!!!!

Katie - Oh my son guards his plate so that I cannot snitch anything off of it!!! hahahaha Wow, 6 a.m.!!!! You Go Girl, I could not move at 6 a.m.

ldblond - HOW EXCITING that your hubbie noticed!!!! Good work - regardless of what the scale says!!! The clothes are speaking the truth!!!!!!!

Monet and all my SBer pals - a big hello and wishing you a great OP day!!!! Got to get back to work before I get in trouble. At lunch I packed a can of tuna and some low carb ww bread because I have to eat on the go since I am getting rid of the grey today - today I will be my normal brunette self! Not too thrilled with this white stuff coming in!!! hahaha
