Just Popping In

Hello Everybody,
It is a pleasure being back again. It is true that I have been very busy lately. Nevertheless I should've peaked my head in to say hello and to let you know that I was OK. So for neglecting you guys I ask you to forgive me.

I can say that I have been OP while I was away. Mother's day and the day after I was not OP. Today I am back on track.

Debbie I was depressed after reading the article on fructose. I use it everyday. I am thankful that you came across the article and posted it. I believe it was just for me. Thank you for keeping us up on our toes. I did accept the challenge of water and excercise. I was a bit late on the OP for a whole week.

I'll check in tomorrow. It is getting late and I have a motivational cd to listen to before I go to bed. Have a good nite everybody.

Love Ya,
LJunel (slim and healthy)

DEB: I am sorry I missed Chat....I was shopping, getting a prescription refilled, then came home and crashed with a book. I stayed on plan today...just ate too much of legal stuff. You are welcome to call me and cuss me out though. I need all the help I can get! ;)

TALITHA: Oh, wow...I love your avatar! The Cheat! That is awesome! Don't you love that web page?

Tomorrow I will get on and address everyone. Love you all....

heartmom 05-13-2003 10:47 PM

I forgot about chat- oh,well. I ate too much at supper this evening- it was legal but just entirely too much- so I did my mile tape again to try to make up for it,lol. Hey, at least I'm exercising! The water challenge really isn't a challenge for me since I drink water all day long anyway. My personal challenge is to stay OP and to exercise. So I guess I'm doing okay today.

PANCHO- the cookies sound legal, but watch it- stick to a serving. Which is always easier said than done when it comes to me and sweets-legal or not. Congrats on 136- that's great.

BETH- see, you're doing it- you'll be back in the 170's before you know it- send some of that motivation my way- I'm not that far from you, lol.

JACK-K- We want pictures!

Well, I'm fixing to start getting ready for bed-goodnite.

Teensybean 05-14-2003 01:20 AM

Good evening all-- finally had another nice day. Got one more row planted in the garden....cabbage. Also got some flower seed planted. Had to go to Grandma's and finish digging raspberries too. Hope to get the squash planted tomorrow, and then it is time to mow the grass again, and use the weed eater! I am so used to Ted helping with the yard work, that I feel like I will never get caught up. He really does try to help now, but I don't want him to do anything that might hinder his recovery. He has another Dr. appointment Friday, and then one on the 30th.

My oldest son will be riding this week end at the rodeo. We try and make this one every year because it's close, and my Uncle owns the rodeo stock that is used. Brant rode last week end and took 3rd. He won't be doing this much longer as he just turned 28. He is like one of the oldest around here riding bulls!! We usually load the camper and stay the week end, but that is out of the question this time. So we will drive up for the day, and then go home. My Mom is going with us. I guess if Ted doesn't feel up to it, we will just go without him. Ha ha.

Well, it is late, and I am tired so will hit the hay and talk to everyone tomorrow. Good night!

Debelli 05-14-2003 08:08 AM

Good WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY MORNING:wave:

Got home from taking kids to school, found MICHAEL'S book bag in the back seat, now waiting to see just how long it will take him to call me to have to go back to the school to take it to him:rolleyes:

 My car a/c isn't working!!!! With it being 90 degrees already down here, and summer hasn't even begun, I have to get it fixed. Good thing that ELI is off today AND tomorrow, so I can take it in today, and if need be, can leave it without having to worry about having a car to get the kids to school tomorrow. We'll see what pretty penny THIS is going to cost me now - it's always something:shrug:

Not walking today - taking Wednesday's off - I'm tired anyhow.

Will go up to Broward today after we take the car in, looking forward to my salad at Ole Ole - woke up hungry, so REALLY looking forward to my salad;)

TALITHA, sounds good that you've already embraced this WOE for the past year, or something similar to it. I actually make my own tapes for when I walk, I like techno or dance, it has a good beat and fast pace. I don't actually listen to the words, just the beat:D Thanks for posting the site for others to look at for the tapes. Don't worry if TRAVIS loses more than you - men typically do, even if they don't try anywhere as hard as we do, it's just genetic make-up:shrug: Remember, this isn't a competition, do it for you and your health and however long it takes, so be it, at least you are doing something good for yourself. As for chat, there's always next week-but the CHAT link is at the top of any forum page - you just go in there and find the SB ROOM and usually, we're there on Tuesday nights.

HEART, maybe the funky feeling is because you haven't been OP? I know that when I'm eating off plan I feel the same way, I think we all do. When I'm eating OP and exercising, I feel wonderful in so many ways. On a personal level, when you mentioned "I know I've come a long way- but I still have a ways to go before I'm happy and comfortable in my own skin- or will that day ever happen?! I have come a long way too and to this day, I am not comfortable in my own skin but it's something I have to learn to deal with. What you have going for you is that you are much younger than I am AND you haven't gone up and down drastically with your weight all your life (or at least as many years as I have). My point is, you can do this now, while you are young and when you do get to your goal, you WILL feel comfortable in your skin! Your skin will have the elasticity it should have to bounce back to fit YOU, not like me where it hangs, all stretched out from years of yo-yo weight gaining. Do this now, while you are young, don't wait to do it years down the line like I did, which made my life very unhappy. How I wish I would of done it long ago, you have the chance not to follow in my footsteps.

JACKK, you're doing so well with the water - for some reason it's been hard for me this week. Have you heard from the newlyweds? How's married life treating this thus far?

PANCHO, many of the board members have young children, older children, no children. This is much more than a support board for this WOE, by coming on the board we have formed a group of friends and friends talk just about anything! You don't have to be an authority on SB to join in either. Even after 3 years of being on SB, I'm still learning and surely don't consider myself an authority! So please, if you have the time, do post! You sound like you are doing wonderful on this WOE - CONGRATS! You'll be at your goal soon!! To answer your question about NANA'S COOKIES, I actually do it them once in a while, but only the Sunflower one as it seems to have the least calories, etc. in it. As long as you keep it in moderation, that's fine. I think the reason I didn't get the pb was the fat? I can't remember, but I still to the sunflower one, even though it has a few raisins in it, it's very small and when possible I just ditch them. Only thing I don't like about them, they break easily and they are expensive!

AGAPE, :^: didn't mean to make anyone depressed with the fructose article. I just think when I find something that may be of interest I should post it. You have to use your own judgement when it comes to eating/using certain food items. Remember, everything in moderation!! A little fructose won't hurt - it's when something calls for a large amount and possibly within the portions gives you a large amount as well.

MONET, you're forgiven;) I ate too many legal carbs as well yesterday - it happens. At least it wasn't too many illegal of anything!!!

TEENSY, you make me tired just reading your post!!!! All that planting - I hope you are posting that on the exercise board!! Hope TED'S Dr. appt goes well on Friday - keep us informed. Good luck to DS with the bull, I can't imagine watching my kid doing something like that!!!

Okay, time to hit the shower. Will have to check in later when we get back.

Have a great day!

Hello all. I have a juice ??

I'm just finishing up breakfast and had a ham/cheese omlet with 1 egg, 1 piece of whole wheat toast and 1/2 glass of OJ. Was that all legal? The bread was 100% bromated stoneground whole wheat flour Just actually wondering if the juice was ok? It has no added sugar. Thanks and sorry if this is novice.

Hi everyone. For WIW I was down about 1 lb. from last week, so slow but steady! :D I'll change my stats after my "official" WI on Saturday.

Still OP, even though I was seriously tempted yesterday afternoon after a stressful day at work. I managed to not cave in, and ate my own snacks.

Sorry about missing chat, but I was hip-deep in my paper for class. I did manage to finish it, though. For a while I was ready to not work on it and come play, but then I'd still be writing now!

Anyhow, I have to get ready for work. It's hard packing for lunch and dinner on school days. I'll see if I can check back later and get some personals done.

ttfn,

Jenn

HI I NEED LOTS OF HELP ! :)

Hi I am a new Sugar busters girl and I have gone one week with out any type of (sugars except fruit.) I also have not eaten any white flour products as well. I was wondering if some one could tell me when the daily chats are, as well as some help on when and what to eat. Like what to have for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Such as do I have protein every meal? I bought the two books for sugar busters but I still feel lost. I haven't lost any thing either I have gained a pound! What am I doing wrong? I drink my water and exercise..... any ideas? Thanks, -Erin

Oh and how do we get buddies ? Thanks I am still trying to figure out how to use this site.

Solly 05-14-2003 08:45 AM

Happy WIW. Hope the scale is good to everyone today. Just think how great it's going to be next week with everyone doing the challenge and being OP all week and weekend.

I stayed the same today. That's ok. After al lthe bad eating last week I am happy with it. Now time to get serious and move on down to goal.

Went to the grocery $329.00 worth. I was out of everything and that is with one less mouth to feed. Man! But I was starving. The donuts were calling my name, the cheetos, everything was looking so good. Didn't buy anything bad. Made it home and had a quick hot dog and slaw for dinner.

Tried to walk, but we are watching SIL's dog and he doesn't walk well on a leash. We only got in about 1 1/2 miles. Better than nothing I guess. Was too exhausted to workout. It was after 9:00 by the time we got dinner and the mess cleaned up and the walk in. So I just did 100 crunches and leg lifts in front of the TV. Hopefully I can improve the exercising this week.

Pancho, I'm sure you have just as much to say as anyone else does, so join right in. You have done awesome with losing. Only 6 lbs to goal is wonderful. This is something you can do for life. Hope to hear from you again. Those cookies sound ok to me, but let's let an expert decide.

Agape, it's not too late to joi in the OP challenge, You will just put in 6 days in lieu of 7. Glad you have been doing so good with your eating. Everyone has slip ups now and then. Most important thing is to get right back on track.

Deb, sorry I missed chat. 24 was on and I love that show. Only 1 more to go so I will be on after that. Have fun with Eli today. Shame about the a/c/ But you have to have it. Hope it doesn't cost an arm and leg. No word fromt he newlyweds. Too far away. They didn't get an international phone card. Plus no need to call me.

Teensy, I can't believe your DS rides bulls. That looks so dangerous. I was watching a show last week with all the mishaps with bulls and rodeos. Does he get thrown much? Hope DH is recoverying well. Sounds like you have alot to do with him being out of commission. Take care of yourself.

Heartmom, Deb is right on target with doing this now while you are young. Take it from me, at 50 years young, my skin has no elasticity. Now I'm thin with saggy skin. Not a pretty site. Do it while you are young and pretty.

Cathinup, sounds legal to me. In fact, it made me hungry. Welcome to our board.

Jenn, WTG on passing up the snacks and eating your legal ones. It does get easier. Congrats on the 1 lb loss.

Oh I got in 90 oz of water yesterday. Getting ready to start on todays. I'm 3 for 3 on the days of all the challenges. Yeah Me!

Have a great OP day.

WIW

:(

I am up 2 pounds today. BUT on a lighter note.....I did well OP yesterday. I am determined to do at least 3 whole days OP and see how I do. I have wine each night though so it is hard. I water it down with seltzer to stretch it out. I had a tossed salad last night with the last bit of my homemade chili on top with a little shredded cheese and ranch dressing. It was a bottled dressing but I didn't use much. I am going to make my own with the season packet from Hidden Valley when the bottle is gone. The packet doesn't have any sugar and I use skim milk and light mayo so it should be fine.

Today I have a ham sandwich with 1 SSWW bun, 2 oz. of lean boiled ham (legal?) and 1 slice swiss cheese.
For snacks I have some grapes, an apple and some 1% cottage cheese. I think I will be hungry but I will drink my water.
Which brings me to another question, is adding Crystal Light to my water ok? I know there is no sugar but it has an artificial sweetener in it.

I didn't get out and walk last night because of my neck. I actually left work early because it was so painful it was making me VERY cranky:headache:
It is a little better today. I blasted it last night with heat and drugs and got a good nights sleep so it feels a little better.
I want to do my walk tonight because I promised I would do it 3 times this week. I can still get it in if I do it tonight, tomorrow and Saturday am.

Well, I am off. I hope you all have a better WIW than I did. I am not freakin out about it at least. I knew it would be up. I can only keep trying.

Talk to you later.

Beth2374 05-14-2003 09:51 AM

Happy WIW!

Well... it's my first WIW back OP and I sure hope each week can be as happy as this one!

I weighed in at 188 this morning. (I didn't have ANY water yesterday, so I'm up one from the 187 I was the other day)
Still, 188 is down 5 pounds!!!

I have a 500 page deposition to type so I'm gonna go... hope everyone has a great WIW and the Metal Monster is kind!

Bye!

Rosalie 05-14-2003 10:22 AM

Good Morning All

Wanted to check in for WIW. I am down two more pounds this week. Yippee. Was 196.5 this morning. I have no time to post anymore right now as I have a dentist's appointment this morning and have to go jump in the shower and fix something to eat. Can't afford to miss lunch because of a frozen mouth. :ink:

Good luck to everyone for WIW. See y'all later.

Marie.

Talitha 05-14-2003 11:02 AM

Happy WIW!!!

Good Morning,
I weighed in at a 3 lb loss. I'm excited, bit It also seems to me that the first week on any diet or new WOE you tend to do really well. I got in around 95 oz yesterday, and walked 4 miles. i think I may have cheated for dinner last night. I went with Hannah(my sister and BFF) to dinner last night and ate squazh, green beans and 1 piece of Country Fried Steak, but I didn't touch the gravy. Had hardly had any breads all day, though. Is that OK?

Sorry I didn't get on the chat. Hannah had a wedding crisis. She had chosen fall colors for her wedding and suddenly realized that chocolate brown and aspen green will not work in July. She has insisted on doing everything herself to this point, and I don't blame her, but moving the wedding up has thrown everything haywire. Before I was Prego I worked as a bridal consultant/wedding planner, so she finally caved and asked me to help. So, lsat night we went to pick out and order fabric for the bridesmaid dressed. We found a shantung silk in 'mocha' that will still compliment all of the decorations and accessoried that the has. It's going to look great!!!

Monet- Travis and I are www.HomestarRunner.com fanatics. Actually our whole church is. It's even a link on the Church website! I printed some stuff on those iron on sheets to make T-shirts and stuff for Selah. She has a cute little Yellow t-shirt with the 'Teen Girl Squad' picture on it. It's hillarious!!!!

Erin- Welcome to the group. I've only been here less than a week myself, and I'm loving it. Everone is awesome!!

Beth- So is that your tattoo as your Apgar? it's really pretty. I have a big ladybug on my back that I have had for 8 years. LONG befoer the ladybug craze. I also have a tiny diamond nose ring. That was my after-baby "I'm a mom, but I'm still cool" statement.

Sorry of I have lot's of typo's. I'm holding a squigling 4 1/2 month old bundle of energy, who's ready for snack time.
