Sourdough Bread

  • Can someone counsel me about whether or not sourdough bread is "legal" on SugarBusters? I read on one of the sites that it was but I don't see it listed anywhere in the "official" SugarBusters material.

I love the program! I feel so good after only four weeks. I have a long way to go (I need to lose well over 100 pounds) but I am looking forward to revision of eating habits for life so it doesn't matter how long it takes (fast would be nice, though) -- I WILL get it off!!!
  • LKF, WELCOME! Glad to see you are enjoying following SB.

SOURDOUGH is legal. BUT, do read your labels. There could be a lot of junk in that particular loaf you buy, which can make a difference. When I do buy SD BREAD, I buy RUDY'S, which I get at the local HFS (health food store). There are no preservatives in there at all. I don't eat it often because I try to find breads that have more fiber, as SD usually doesn't, unless you find a WWSD. We have a good explanation of why SD is legal on the FOOD INFORMATION BOARDS, I believe.

Please feel free to join us on our regular SB WEEKLY SUPPORT BOARD. We have others from AL who would be happy to see you join us to, as we all would. We have a wonderful group of women and one brave souled guy on our board and we'd love for you to join us.
