Oh wait. My ticker says 202. I hadn't changed it for a bit. I'm pretty consistently weighing between 199 and 197 Yay! Every little pound off helps :)
|
If I over-eat, I usually feel full for several hours longer
than I would after a normal-sized meal, but then when that wears off, or the next day, I'm even hungrier than normal. Some of you may know what I'm talking about? Crazy but true? Well, when I went off-plan this past Sunday, it was high calorie but not high sugar or high GI. Then, for the next day or two I was LESS hungry than normal, and there's not too much damage done to my weight. Wow. So basically, my body is working the way it should, and that makes me really happy. Even if I'm getting into trouble, it pays to avoid the sugar! Or maybe I've got a shrunken stomach and maybe I wasn't as bad as I had feared. Talitha, Congratulations on your anniversary and on the weight loss. Ellen, That fall sounds miserable. Thanks for the recipe idea. I've found some good low-cal lowfat cheesecake recipes but nothing with agave. Crystle, Congratulations on the new animals. Sounds like a Garden of Eden. :) |
Howdy
Just poppin in to say howdy. Busy busy week. I hope to slow down next week. Eating is great. Scales are yucky...LOL :) ((Everybody)) Hang in there and keep on keeping on. That's what makes us winners.
God bless, Crystle |
Hello, friends! The knee is still giving me fits. It is aching right now, though the swelling is down mostly and the bruises are actually improving. I am so ready for some peace and no injuries or stresses. I am not holding my breath...
I just shipped out a set of dishes I have been working on for almost a year. What a great feeling! Unfortunately, it was ordered by my sister, who expected a deal, and got one. :( I did not make a lot on them...but oh well! Tom got the tomato plants in the other night, finally. We should have tomatoes in about 60 days. I would be happy if they were over achievers and were ready sooner.... Dinner last night was chicken piccata. It sure turned out yummy! Tonight I am making lasagna with homemade ricotta and mozzarella, and chicken sausage from the farmer's market. Hope all is well! |
Ellen, you need to share some links on how you learned to make cheese. I've made my own yogurt. I wanna try!
Worked out twice at the y yesterday. I did 1.5 hour water class and then did 45min on the elyptical yesterday afternoon while Selah had her yoga class. I feel good. I'm taking the kids to my MILs to stay the night. Travis and I are going to go see the King Tut exhibit and then tomorrow morning we are going to the Green Market at Piedomont Park. Then birthday parties and guests on Sunday. It's going to be a fun-filled weekend. |
Hi ladies, sorry I have MIA. I have been having troulbe getting on the site. A dear friend passed away last week from breast cancer. She was a PE teacher at the grade school. We had gotten to be good friends and always went to all the bc outings. I will miss her. So I was pretty much bummed all week. it really hit close to home. Plus work has been dreadful. Everyone is in horrible moods, yelling, nasty, etc. I have been here 37 years and always loved my job. Lately, I hate my job. We are low on work and I understand the worry but you really don't have to treat people that way.
Last week was Derby week and needless to say, it was packed full to the brim. If I don't see another horse for awhile, it will be fine with me. Ellen, sorry about your accident. Hope your knee feels better soon. Talitha, Happy anniversary. Lisa, you can do this. Toni, hope all i well with you. Crystle, how is that garden growing? Guess that is all for now. We are so busy bidding work, that I am swamped. Hope to be back soon. |
Hello friends. I am plodding along, my knee is improving slightly. The weather has cleared and the sun is shining for the first time in several days. The rain was heavy yesterday and the roof is leaking. It needs to be replaced, but my farmer boy husband can't bring himself to pay someone to do something he can do himself...so he is planning on reroofing it himself. Argh!
I have finally gotten the furniture arranged how I like it in the dining room (new stuff we got from my husband's deceased uncle) and I am trying to get the main floor of the house in presentable shape for a dinner party the second week of June. I have a LOT to do! :) Eating has been so so. Not bad, not great. The scale is stuck as usual. TALITHA: I got a book from Amazon by Ricki Carroll called Cheesemaking. There is a website she runs that has the unusual ingredients you need. Mozzarella and ricotta are very easy cheeses to make. I have a second frig I need to get situated and plugged in, which I plan to use for hard cheeses that have to be aged. My son built me a cheese press, so I am all set. I am going to try a cheddar, then a parmesan. The mozzarella turns out delicious, and is much cheaper than what you buy in the store if you use milk from someplace like costco. If you like, you can make it out of goat's milk. You just need to find fresh goat's milk, as the stuff in the grocery stores has been ultra pastuerized and it will not work. Call me if you want to talk about it. SOLLY: I am so sorry about your friend. I know that must hurt. I am praying for you. So where is Toni, Meowee, Country - and has any one heard from Tech, or BOB lately? |
Hello. Things are crazy around here getting ready for company and a big family gathering here the 16th. I've got tons to do. First I've got to think about what to feed my bunch. Oh well I'm sure it will all work out.
Solly- I'm so sorry about your friend. I can't imagine how hard this is for you. And what a bad time for things to be bad at work. I hope it all gets better for you. Ellen- Wow you've been a busy bee. Glad your knee is getting better. Got your garden in yet? Talitha- good going gal on the workout. Keep up the good work. Hi Crystle, Meowee, and Lisa........ |
Hello. I'm hanging in there, and that marvelous ticker keeps headed down!
On Sunday we went to that buffet again, but this time I looked at it as an opportunity to learn new habits -- to take a few bites of the high-calorie foods and then not have any more. I already know how to restrict myself cold-turkey but that's not a permanent lifestyle, and I know how to over eat, so this is really good for me to practice practice practice. I feel like I'm training my body, not just my mind. Solly, I'm sorry to hear about the death of your friend, and the death of civility at your workplace. Ellen, I hope your knee recovers really well. Congrats to Talitha on the exercise. WAY TO GO! It's doubly impressive that you find the time despite the demands of kids. |
I have an annoying cat. He woke me out of a sound sleep this morning by poking me in the head. He wanted me to pet him. I think he must be senile, as he is very old and when he was young he never would sit in your lap, or demand attention like he does now. So, I SHOULD still be asleep.....
TONI: Sounds like you are busy too! A big family gathering is fun...but a lot of work! Tom has been getting the garden in bit by bit...last night he planted okra. He got some basil seeds too, since the old ones I planted don't seem to be coming up. :( LISA: I like your attitude about the buffet! It is a learning process, and you are going to succeed with that attitude. Way to go! |
The phone ringing woke me this morning. I was really sleeping. But I do have a busy day ahead so need to get busy. Didn't even get on the scale yet. Did everyone get a coupon for KFC's grilled chicken? Ours is to far away and I couldn't get it to print my coupon. The Biggest Loser was so good last night. Down to the final three next week.
Lisa- Yep that training yourself to eat better is a good thing..... Keep up the good work. Ellen- Awww what a sweet kitty. Maybe you'll need a little nap today. Crystle- Hope you get a break...... Well off to do some work. Have a good day. |
spring! <3
I love spring. It's finally getting warm where I live in the NE.
I'll be outside more. More walking. More running. Hopefully my fiancee will join me! Also, where do all of you get your countdown things? |
Hi all! I'm new to the forum and to Sugar Busters. I would like to join in with this daily thread if you all don't mind! To start, I was wondering if there are specific brands of "sugar free ice cream" that are recommended? I've seen "No Sugar Added" (Breyers and others) that include Splenda, but not "sugar FREE". Do they mean the same thing?
|
:welcome: Pet and Voice..... Its good to have you here. You get the countdown things under UserCP at the top of the page. But I think you have to be on so many posts before you can use it. As far as the ice cream goes I myself would go with the one that has splenda in it.

So, I've had no sugar today and I'm sooo tempted at the moment to go grab some chocolate! But I'm not. I'm going to have some water with lime because I really am thirsty.. Ahhh..
' I startefd a sparkpage and I'm trying to get into logging my food. Because I know that I'm completely addicted and worshiping at the Sugar Shrine. I've GOT to break the habit and stop feeling sorry for myself. Anyway, I blogged today if you want to go read it. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage.asp?id=MOMSTINCT Welcome Pet and Voice!!! Lisa, you're doing fantastic! Ellen- i may try that out sometime, when I'm in a bit of a better routine. I'm getting there.. Be careful with that knee. Solly, I'm so so sorry for your loss. ((hug)) Toni- I couldn't get the coupin to print either. |
