Hi, new person here....

  • I have been fighting my inner battles this month to quit sugar. I tried a year ago and lasted about a week. I came to a major realization tonight. I had a major craving and ate only a few jelly candies. I felt so dizzy and out of it afterwards. I realized that I thought that sugar was my best friend, but sugar is my worst enemy. What kind of best friend would make you feel like crap?

    I don't feel like I would miss candies or cakes much. My main reason for not quitting has been tea. I love my tea sweetened. I'm not too big on unsweetened tea. I'm hoping that I can develop a taste for stevia.

    I'm going cold turkey tomorrow. I can't wait to get it out of my system and feel balanced. Good bye moodswings, dizziness, and cravings. Hello weightloss, hello good health, hello joy.

    what about honey in your tea? i realize it is still a sugar, but a sugar with nutrients in it at least. Agave nectar is another natural sweetner.

    Are you talking about iced tea or hot tea? Are you talking about adding a teaspoon here or are you talking about that super sweet southern style syrupy thick with sugar iced tea?
  • I still like tea if it's just lightly sweetened. Actually, the southern style makes me dizzy when I drink it. I have used agave nectar. I may use it and raw honey sparingly in the future. I think I'm better off staying away from sugar entirely in the beginning and then see what I can minimally add back in.
