Default Busting & Shaking to the finish of 2008

Here we are -- another month has begun . . . and it's time for a new chat thread -- so here's our new home for thne rest of the year.

Let's make the last two months of 2008 our best time ever. Let's make sure that this year is the one that ends our sugar addictions for once and for all, and we start into 2009 in complete control of our eating habits.

Go team go . . .

Woo Hoo a new page... I love a new beginning. Heres a couple of hard months. Except I do think Thanksgiving isn't bad. Its only one day and turkey is healthy. Along with some baked sweet potatoes and nice veggie etc. The week end is lazy but we did go grocery shopping on Friday. We had pizza Friday night but I only had on slice. It just had mushrooms and cheese on it. Last night was grilled steak. With some broccoli salad. Tonight DH is making grilled cheese on sour dough. The weather is perfect here. Tomorrow I go have a mamogram and get the oil in the car changed so it will be a busy day. Have a good evening....

Hi ladies,

Weekend was a busy one. We had a retirement party o Saturday and I did very well with my eating. I was so proud. Even ate at Panera for lunch and had half a sald and their low fat black bean soup. Yummy. Yesterday I started with am omlett for breakfast and I never was hungry the rest of the day, even when we went to dinner. We did eat Hooter's wings, but I was still under my calories count for the day, so I was ok. This morning the scale was way down so I will check again tomorrow and see if it holds.
I am having a lot of trouble getting in enough calories each day.

I got all of my Dickens villages up yesterday. Took us about 3 hours. I have 18 of them and we put them on this landing space upstairs and my dd has to climb over the banister and go over there and set them up. It's only about a 3'x2' area and the drop is about 8'. I just may leave them up all year. I love looking at them.

Brought a couple more Christmas gifts this weekend. I am well on my way. I bought some buckets with cute snowmen on them. I am using mine for kindling by the fireplace but I need to fill them with something to use as gifts. Any ideas? Also I need some ideas for little gifts for people who come to my house to take home when they leave. Not much on making anything so I need some ideas for that if anyone has any.

Meowee, thanks for starting a new board. They are always so nice.

Toni, good luck on your mamogram today. We made homemade pizza's for Halloween before the kiddies came around.
Got to get started. Have a great day.

Hi ladies,

Not a lot going on with me. Scale is still down. Only need a couple pounds to get down into another new set of numbers. My body is so crazy. Never lose then 8 lbs all at once. Nice motivation when it finally does happen though. Boy the trainer about killed me last night. I can hardly lift my arms today. I actually worked so hard I thought I was going to throw up when I left there. Amazing how much harder you work with someone like that then on your own. I told him I was going to St Maarten in Jan and wanted to be able to wear a string bikini. He laughed and asked how big was the string That is not a visual even I would want in my head.

Any one made a granola that is legal? My DD is wanting some and I bought something packaged at the store but thought someone on here had made one. Guess I need to check out the recipe board.

Toni, how did your mammo go the other day?

Meowee, glad you are holding down the fort here.

Where is all our other newbies? & oldies?

Got to run to a meeting. Talk to you tomorrow.

Hi all!

I'm new to this forum. I just got sugar busters in the mail yesterday and I started reading it last night. I am addicted to sugar and this is gonna be a difficult transition for me. I'm excited to make some changes though. I've got a lot of problems with depression and some other 'mood' disorders and I'm really curious to see how this will affect how i feel mentally as well as physically.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and thanks for introducing me to this concept. I'd never heard of Sugar Busters before I came to 3FC.

Hi Sarah and welcome to our board. We are a little slow right now, but it should pick up soon. I hope you stay with us. This is easy to follow. No "white" things such as white bread, white potatoes, white pasta, sugar. Only whole wheat bread with less than 3 grams of sugar, ww pasta, whole grain cereals, crackers. No bananas, raisins, or pineapple, watermelon. I beleive there is a newbie list of the basics youmight want to check out. It will take a few days to get over your sugar fixation. You may even have withdrawal headaches, but once you do, it will be easy. Plan ahead and always be prepared and don't cheat. That's the best advice I can give you. Ask any questions you may have. I originally lost 105 lbs on this and gained 30 back with chemo. But I have lost almost 20 lbs and working hard to get it all back off. Good luck and looking forward to getting to know you.

Nothing going o with me today. Did not go to the gym last night as my dd bought a new car and had some work done to the house that she wanted us to see so we went out there. I needed a break anyway. My arms are so sore today I can hardly use them. I will definately do lower body tonight.

Toni, where are you?

Meowee,

Wow I've had a hard time getting on here today. Seems like my life has been crazy this week. I had my Mammogram on Monday. And have run the rest of the week. Got the results of my pap smear and its abnormal so I'm to see a specialist. I've waited all day for the doctors office to call with my appointment. Maybe tomorrow. Eating is horrible. Hopefully better tonight I'm making pork cutlets rolled in whole wheat panko crumbs. With a salad and maybe baked sweet potato.

Sct- Yes peanut butter is allowed. Its good to have you aboard.

Solly- Sounds like you've been pretty busy working out. Good for you. You're really doing it. You're my inspiration.... Congrads on losing the weight....

Meowee- Hope you're doing well....

Have a good evening....

Hi there gang . . .

And a big to you SARAH -- so glad to have you joining us. There's a sub-forum listed at the top of the forum page that may anwer a lot of your questions.

Another busy day today and unfortunately my second day of not OP eating -- tried to make good choices, but eating in restaurants too often is never a good thing. At least my blood sugar levels are holding okay. Hopefully life will be back to normal tomorrow.

See you later . . .

Hi all!! I rec'd my sugar busters book this week. I am hopeful in getting back on track. Getting back on the wagon is hard this time, for some reason. I have been on a baked sweet potato w/ sour cream kick this week. Too yummy. I plan on baking a splenda cheesecake next weekend. This weekend I am going to relax in Biloxi in a condo all by my lonesome...honey has to work.

TGIF!!

Hi ladies,

Hope everyone is ready to enjoy the weekend. We are going to the race track tomorrow with DH's work. Luckily it is indoors as it will be in the low 50's tomorrow. They should have food I can make good choices from.

Toni, I'm sorry to hear that your pap smear was abnormal. There are a lot of factors that can cause it. Please keep us posted.

SCT, they say the natural pb is better, but I have never used it. Jiff has one called Simply Jiff that has less sugar.

Cray, enjoy your alone time. The cheesecake is delish.

Meowee, hope you are having a better day today.

Have a great weekend everyone! Talk to you on Monday.

Gee whiz . . . I've had another hectic day . . . don't know what is going on but it is really messing up my eating good intentions. Today had chocolate in it and not the good healthy stuff -- peanut butter cups crossed my path at a very bad moment.

Other than that, it's been rain, rain, rain all day -- but it is mild.
