Eating has been good today. B- oatmeal L-homemade veggie beef soup and D- fish, baked sweet potato fries, and broccoli with cheese sauce. Needed to have some fruit today. But just wasn't in the mood. Pretty proud of myself and hope tomorrow is so good. I'll try to add fruit. And maybe a yogurt. Hope everyone had a great day.....

Good Morning . . . :grouphug:

Oh wowee TONI . . . at this time of year, I have trouble curtailing my fruit intake . . . just shows how different we all are.

Northern Nova Scotia is working on a third absolutely glorious summer day and I'm just waiting for my hair to dry (just got out of the shower) and then I'm going out to play for a little while . . . :yay:

Hope everybody else has a great day, too . . .

meowee 07-14-2008 10:25 AM

Not so gorgeous today -- both the humidity and the heat are on the rise again.

Hope everybody else has a great day. . . :grouphug:

Good afternoon- How did everyones week end go. We've got a shocker here DH had blood work and has high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes. It will make a change in his eating and help me with mine I'm sure. The doctor's office gave him a low cholesterol diet and will let him know Wednesday what his blood tests showed today. I'm going to have to start cooking better. Would sure love to hear some food ideas....

meowee 07-15-2008 08:50 AM

Good Morning . . . :grouphug:

TONI . . . sorry to hear of DH's diagnosis . . . but you are already on the right track by following a low GI/GL plan . . . take a look at the this thread to refresh you memory . . . http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=145931. Other than that, try to make sure his carb load is as balanced as possible throughout the day.

SSDD around here -- it's going to be a steamy one with thunderstorms predicted for the afternoon.

Hope everybody else gets decent weather and has a really great and fun kind of day . . .

Toni48 07-15-2008 10:03 AM

Good morning all. We've got a beautiful cool morning here in Missouri. I did pretty good on my eating yesterday. Tonight I've got to do something with chicken breast. Any idea's????????

Meowee- I went back and reread that site again. I made DH a salad with shrimp on it. He wants lots of salads right now and I know he'll burn out on them. But it makes for good eating for me to so thats fine for a bit.

Well a friend is taking me out for the day. So I'd better get around. Have a great day.

Toni48 07-15-2008 04:15 PM

Woo hoo I hit pay dirt at the health food store. Found lots of good things. Got my Rivata crackers, spicy vegetarian refried beans, whole wheat coucous. Lots of good things there. Also got me some frozen mangos for my smoothies. So I'm a happy woman.

meowee 07-16-2008 08:31 AM

Sounds good TONI :high: . . . BTW did you mean Ryvita? or is Rivata just something I've never heard of? Have you ever come across Wasa Crispbread . . . it's very similar to Ryvita but a little lower in calories (no fat) . . . made in Germany, I think.

An a big Good Morning :grouphug: for everybody . . . hope you all have a great OP day on the go.

SSDD around here -- last night the weather forecast was for cooler and less muggy today -- BUT, as of first thing this morning the seem to hve changed their minds back to hot and steamy again. Once change -- it's also sunny, and I'm not sure that's a good thing under the circumstances.

See you later . . . :carrot:

Just dropping in to say hello! I have "Open Pool Day" here today, where anyone is welcome to drop in and swim. Some weeks we have several families, and others no one! It is fun though.

I hope everyone is well. TONI, I am sorry to hear about your hubby's type 2, but it is not impossible to control. And Sugarbusters is a great diet for diabetics.

 Take care everyone!

Toni48 07-16-2008 10:47 AM

Morning. Coffee is good and I'm on my first cup. I made me a wonderful wild blueberry smoothie yesterday afternoon. It made for a nice afternoon treat with some walnuts.

Meowee- Don't know why I spelled Ryvita wrong. Simple me...... I haven't tried Wasa. These come from Germany too. If I'm not wrong. I just have two of them with peanut butter on them.

Ellen- Its so good to hear from you. Open pool sounds wonderful, wish I lived closer. LOL

Well back to drinking my coffee.... Have a good day.

meowee 07-17-2008 09:53 AM

Hi . . .

Thought I was already in here . . . another senior moment I guess.

Nothing new to report anyway -- weather continues sunny, hot, sticky -- please send rain if you've got any to spare. We really, really need a good solid downpour.

Anyway, hope everybody else has a great fun day and cooperative weather patterns.

Toni48 07-17-2008 11:57 AM

Good morning all. My sis comes to spend the week end with me tomorrow evening. I can't wait. I've planned salmon for tonight nights dinner. I have no idea what else. I might make some egg salad for sandwiches and hopefully am taking her out to eat Sat. night. We sure are having our fill of summer company. Maybe this is the last of it. I need to get back to normal. Well guess I'd better get our breakfast. Have a nice afternoon and stay cool.

GymRatandStillFat 07-18-2008 09:34 AM

Hey Everyone,

Just a quick hello. Moving day is tomorrow so I have been insanely busy the past 2 weeks getting the new apt feeling "homey" and as close to move in ready as possible while still living at my sisters and working. I am so tired.

As far as eating goes--Awful I eat what ever is available and often am so busy I don't eat. I go food shopping in aan hour for my own home and I plan to only buy healty things and start fresh on Monday.

Hope everyone is having an awesome summer and hope to be on more once i am all settled!!! Have a great day all!!!
