Well, I'm running late to the party again . . . got up way too early and started cleaning closets. I really have to be in the right mood for stuff like that. I was totally ruthless and filled 8 large garbage bags for trash dayand another 3 with stuff to take to the SallyAnne. I am proud of myself. :yes: I'm also hot and sweaty and totally exhausted even with the A/C running full blast. Wow, Summer is here with a vengeance.

I'm wanting to make a pasta salad with whole wheat pasta and some Italian dressing. Shrimp, onions, olives, cheese and what ever else I can find. Oh maybe some broccoli.

Just a short post, short for two reasons, I am getting myself and Emmy packed for our trip to TN. My son Jack is going with us and DH is staying home b/c he has to go into the office on Friday. I need Jack's advice about enlarging/strengthening the drive so we can park the RV there at some point. Besides all 3 of us could use some time from here before he gets back to the work day grind. I think Hubby will like the peace and quiet for a few days too, just him and the pets! I am a bit down in the dumps b/c I was started on two more meds today in addition to Micardis 2 weeks ago. I think at almost 54 things are not looking too good for me! Sheeesh! My plans are to take a few days to get myself together...that will probably last until Thursday when I can't stay away anymore! LOL lucky for you guys huh? Hope you all have a good few days at any rate!

Don't actually think it is a very good morning since it is so hot and sticky already that I feel totally enervated. Woke up with the intention of continuing my ruthless throwing out routines by moving onto the cluttered nooks and crannies of the kitchen -- but so far all I've managed is :coffee2:.

Sorry I have been missing all week. I am trying tog et lots of things done before vacation. Eating is so-so. And I am sure it will not be great in Florida eventhough I love baked fish. It should be really good donw there. I am getting excited about the trip. I just love having my girls with me. The friend of my youngest DD is going and she is such a hoot. She will be entertaining in the car.

Ashley, I hold water terribly. I take 3 diuretics a day and if I don't take all 3, I will gain 3-4 lbs in a day. It is not unsual for me to gain 10 lbs over the weekend when I can't take them for some reason. I think it is my meds causing it.

Thank you all for the warm welcome, it's great to be here. It looks like you all have had some great successes so far, and I hope to learn from you and get moving in the right direction.

So far, all is well. The hardest thing is cutting out the sweets. I just seem to crave them. I've been trying to do the fruit instead, but sometimes it's just not cutting it. I'm definitely a work in progress.

Ann - Have you read the Sugar Busters book yet? I posted a list of stuff you can and cannot have. Its in Freq. asked questions section. After a week or two those cravings will go away. Good luck and take one day at a time.

I know I've been MIA again, but at least I have been productive....I got a job.:cheer: I took a position as a sales rep for a company that sells office printers, scanners, faxes etc... They know I don't have sales experience, but since I do have teleresearch experience, they know I can handle being on the phone a lot and are willing to train me!! What's great about this job is that it is 5 minutes away from my house. And unlike most sales jobs, I will work out of the office, so no traveling. Another great thing is I will be selling to wholesalers and they tend to place orders in quantity, so more commission! I get full benefits after 3 months, 401K after a year and a yearly salary too. To say I'm happy is an understatement. This is perfect timing for me as Gable will be off to school on August 13th. I start this Monday. I'll let you know how the first week went.

I am going to change my signature now to reflect my new goal of losing 10 pounds. I have lost 1 pound already(from jumping up and down after getting my job). These last 9 pounds will probably take quite a while, but I'm eating this way forever so when it happens, it happens.

Welcome Ann, you'll love it here. Believe it or not, the sugar cravings will go away. It takes time and you will have days where you just need a little 70% chocolate!:D I wish I had time for personals, but I have a German boy coming today for 2 weeks and I have to finish washing my floors. He was an exchange student this year at Gable's school and he loved CT (ie...Gable) so he's back for a visit.

Hello I've had another wonderful surprise for my birthday. My brother from Colorado showed up. What a big surprise. I had the most wonderful time while he was here. And sure did hate to see him leave. I can't believe all the company I've had. Eating hasn't been great. But I'm back on the wagon today. LOL Steve's doctor wants him to eat low cholesterol so things are going to be easier around here. His doctor will give him a low cholesterol diet Monday but I know I'll be able to cook Sugar Busters way.

Chris- congrads on the new job. It sounds just great and I'm so happy for you. And yippee on the 1 lb. loss!:carrot:
