Whole Grain Bread WITHOUT Sweetners

  • After reading an article in First Magazine about HFCS and what it does to your body, I have begun to make sure that I eat very little (if any processed food). I know this is Sugar Busters forum, but one thing I am having a hard time finding is a whole grain bread without HFCS in it. And because it's basicaly a sugar/sweetner/processed cr@p, I was wondering if anyone might know of a good bread? I am doing WW and once in a while, I do like a good sandwich, but.... aside from baking my own (which I just may do) is there anything out there that's sugar/sweetner free?
  • It is very challenging to find bread without sweetners. I have only ever been able to find one bread, When Pigs Fly. If you search for it online, you can see their nutrition facts and varieties, as well as where it is sold.
  • Hi Ladies,
Note sure where you live hockeymom but I buy a great bread from Silver Hills Bakery that is excellent and is sweetened with apples. It's called Balanced. You can check out it and the other breads & bagels they have at www.silverhillsbakery.com
They have a bread that is gluten free too.
    Cheers
  • Nature's Own has a whole wheat bread that has a bit of brown sugar instead of HFCS in it. They also have a sugar free variety. I believe they are a national brand. If you can't find a good commercial bread, you might want to invest in a breadmaker and make your own. With the machine it is as easy as dumping in the ingredients and turning the thing on. Just pick one with a pan that is the right size loaf. Some even make two loaves at once....
