Typical days menu - Breakfast - none or Apple and Chicken breast

Snack - 12 almonds

Lunch - salad w/salsa dressing & meat of some type

Snack - 12 almonds or an apple

Dinner - veggie (green beans, broccoli, etc) and lean meat

Snack - sugar busters ice cream

HELP!!! I weigh 176 and want to lose 30 pounds. ( I am 5.4")

Just from looking at your menu-hard to tell without amounts, but you may just not be eating enough. At your current weight, you'd have to eat a little over 2100 calories to stay there, taking that you were moderately active. To lose, I would suggest about 1600-1700 calories a day to start-it just doesn't look like that's what you are getting.

If your body was getting 2100 calories and then say now, you're getting 1000 calories-you've cut your caloric intake in half-your body thinks you are starving yourself and it slows your metabolism down. Your body now can get by on say 800 calories, banking those 200 calories as fat for the future.

Remember, SB is NOT a low-carb WOE, I don't see where you are getting the recommended 40% from carbs, and just how much protein are you eating? Fiber? Calcium? And I'd stay clear of the SB ice cream-at least at the beginning.

If this is the problem, it's very fixable:)

Thanks Debelli

Wow, I hadn't thought that I could be not eating enough? Not very hungry on this way of eating so I will have to try harder.

Sometimes I do forget it's not a low carb diet (besides the no sugar/low sugar).

Thanks for the support!!!!

I am new too...

Hello! I actually have not started the SB WOE yet, but plan on it! I have so many questions. I am doing Atkins now and not loosing. I only have 10 to loose, but have gone nowhere! I also do not think I can really eat the Atkins way forever. SB seems so much more "real".
What is the best way to loose the last 10 or so pounds? What should I avoid?

Any and all advise is so very welcome!!!

WELCOME TO THE BOARD KIMMY!

Please post your message on the SB WEEKLY SUPPORT BOARD The gals will see it there much easier and will be happy to respond.

Here's the link to that particular board:

Funny, we have a KIMMY on the board who lives in Ohio as well. Her screen name is QUILTER and she's in Cincinatti!!!

As to answer your question-get the book, it's a must read-library should have it. Until then, you can look at this site to get an idea about SB:

I will try over there, but it not seem like anyone was there. I am from Cinci too!!! It is a small world.

And BTW...I have the book and have read it. I found it not to answer a lot of my questions.
