My youngest just turned one in december. When I got married at 18 I weighed 106 lbs. 8 months later I had gained 40 lbs! Then I got pregnant with my first child, a little girl, and I hit 185 or so by the time she was born. I had her, all 5 lbs 2 oz of her and then two months later I found out I was expecting again. I never got a chance to lose after the first one. So with the second I boomed up to 195 the day he was born. He was 8lbs 8 oz. I hated looking into the mirror. After he was born I natrually lost 30 lbs and got down to 165 without trying to lose. Then I stalled. So I started the atkins diet to get the weight off fast. I wanted to be able to wear a cute bathing suit that year. Well I did lose fast. 20 lbs in a month and a 1/2 . But I don't like meat so the diet didn't agree with me. I fell off so many times that it began to take a toll on me and I got sick. So I quit dieting all together to give my body a rest. Then last august I decided to try atkins again. During the break I only gained ten lbs back. So I got back on atkins and didn't make it through the week. I just didn't want all the meat! By this time I didn't know what to do. I tried slim fast, didn't work. Pills, didn't work and made me jittery. So finally I decided to try low calorie. I had never tried it before. I hate counting anything. But I just cut my calories back and low and behold! I liked it!! I loved that I could eat anything I wanted just cutting portions down and drinking alot of water. I keep a food diary that adds up my calories for me and I've lost 30 lbs now! So I wasn't one of those mothers that lost quickly after my kids were born but I'm 132 right now and a size 8 and loving every minute of it!! Better late than never huh?
What a toll pregnancy takes on ones body huh? I love babies and would love to have another but not at the cost of my happiness again. We are a quaint family of four and I think it's perfect.
